Why We Make the Frozen Armor?

You never actually own a bitcoin. You merely look after it for the next generation.
In the blockchain world, no private key ownership means no property ownership. The development history of the blockchain industry witnessed a number of miserable assets missing accidents. Dozens of exchange platforms (like MtGox.com) and wallets were stolen by over 100 million USD worth of cryptocurrencies.
What’s worse, due to the negligence of protecting seed phrases/mnemonics, plenty of individual coin missing cases were recorded in the past few years. For instance, some store their seeds/mnemonics in such digital forms like computer, cellphone, which were unexpectedly damaged owing to fire or water; some take a picture of them and store in emails, computer, Google doc which were compromised by hackers; or some seemingly-smart people wrote down them on papers or printed them out, but unfortunately got them lost because these papers were aged or burned/ watered, etc. Under the above circumstances, the assets of the HODLers would be gone forever.

Call me village idiot but I never knew there were such things as these. Looked it up briefly, so it's just storage of seed phrases... you know what would be great? If the device could somehow work in a puzzle to "decrypt" or show the correct phrase. Probably not the point I understand, but this does defeat the point of memorising the seed, or have I lost the point?

P.S. It does look very beautiful and at a fraction of other types. Where exactly is the shop? The website linked doesn't carry the item.

For random password storage, we will provide extra letters/numbers kit soon, and you can buy extra kit.

In one set of Frozen Armor, you will have 255 character tiles (including uppercase and lowercase letters and blanks) on totally 4 plates.

And the numbers of the letters are determined by the frequency of the English words in the seeds database.

They can satisfy your normal use. In case of being short of those letters, you are able to purchase the plates seperately in our online shops in the future.

How are the metal plates held together, to stop the whole thing falling apart ?

Is it possible to lock the Frozen Armor with a padlock ?

I still can't see any Amazon/Ebay links... the only "Buy" link I can find takes me to "Weidian.com"... which is all in Chinese :-\ :(

$20 is a fantastic price point compared to cryptosteel... and I think it's possible you could sell quite a few units... if users can actually buy it! ;)

You can buy a small metal box and lock the Frozen Armor inside. Anyway, thanks for your suggestion, we may consider that in the future.

Is there anything holding the front cover together to the back plate (with the letters)

The back plate is held to the front cover with a metal pivot. This pivot bolt anchors the two sides and allow them rotate on horizontal level.

As for letters, there is another piece of steel grating which covers and fixes the letters after you place them in order; the gratings are fixed by small steel screws.

Thanks for the update, yeah you guys really need to update the website shop first, before the amazon and ebay links (I can't buy from either directly anyway, unless you sell on amazon.de). I'd rather shop directly from the website I think most of us would prefer that too (and pay simple BTC please!).

You can take a look at this. Although the voice is in Chinese, you can still find out what will the "Frozen Armor" look like.

Apparently this cannot be shipped to my country... from Amazon :( :-\

And indiegogo supports shipping to my country but adds US$10 to the price... still, cheaper than CryptoSteel... but starting to push the total cost up a bit. :-\

304 characters / 24 Words = 12-letter word average... not to mention most words need more vowels.
What will you do if a customer ran out of letters to complete his SEED?

• Will you send him the missing letters for free?
• Can the customer request for the number of vowels and consonants as he order?

If you look at the device... you can only store 4 letters per word (this is generally fairly standard amongst all the "cryptosteel"-type devices that I have seen)


The reason being that, because of the nature of the BIP39 wordlist, 4 letters is enough to identify every word uniquely in the BIP39 list (at least, for the English wordlist).


I believe they also stated that the collection of letters they are distributing is based on "use frequency" for English.

Indeed, we do have the 255 characters tiles to be engraved according to the frequency of the BIP44 glossary. And there are no two or more words sharing the same first four letters in the glossary.

The question here is:
His letters the engraving is a laser
instead other safe wallets like cryptosteel use metal drilling in the letter.

Can you provide technical data that is the most resistant?  ???

Thank you for your good question.

As you may konw, both laser and drilling are two effective workmanships that can achieve the same result when it comes to stainless steel engraving.
However, there are some differences between them:

1. Laser is a more newfashioned workmanship;
2. High speed, accuracy and flexibility are the biggest advantanges of laser technology;

Speaking of safety, I don't see any difference between them. The safety depends on the engraving depth and the material of the steel type(most important).
