My prediction: in 4 months time we will reach 18,000,000 BTC @ 5555 USD each.
That is: a market capitalization of 100,000,000,000 USD.

Seems reasonable.

Though I'm more intrigued to see what effect the halving will have on the price of Litecoin as it is due around August time.

We have seen signs of recovery in the last days, with bitcoin reaching 4000$ again but then quickly going down back to 3960$. There have been some important events programmed in the next coming months and also a few big companies announced their intention to integrate bitcoin in their services so the future seems bright, but we have to wait and see if bitcoin is going to start going up in the next months or is it going to wait until the end.

Any reason how you came to that conclusion or how you ended up with that number? So we at least have something to discuss about. But yea, pretty reasonable in my book. Definitely better than the moonshot predictions.

Sometimes we do not need to have a reason for prediction, once we believe that it will rise into such price then we are free to share it. It is possible to reach that price in the next 4 months, but we should not be so optimistic no matter how we sure about it, just to avoid a big lose when the price is not reach what we predicts or even the price falling down significantly in the next 4 months.

Woooah time flies so fast and after 4 months, 18 million bitcoins will been mined.

Also thinking about this but I'm assuming that same effect would occur just like 2016 for bitcoin halving. Can't say what's going to be the effect with Litecoin's halving by August.

I missed those predictions that are realistic like this one than those moon predictions that's hard to believe. And even said that it will happen within a very short period of time.

Not sure about that mate, unless you think bitcoin will rise in price just because you bought it. There will always be a reason; even if the reason is as generic and simple as you thinking that bitcoin will be successful.

a pump like always, probably starting in July (if the halving is in August) then continuing for at least a month. the real question is how big a pump are we going to see this time, previous one was pretty big so the expectations are high!

Interesting, $5,500 would seem really bullish considering we’d still be around a year away from the next halving. I’d be very happy to see $5,500 in 4 months.

It's obviously not impossible, because this figure would have been seen as quite conservative when people were caught up in the frenzy of the 2017 bull market.

I certainly don't think that an arbitrary prediction without at least some fundamental or technical backing is necessarily something that you'd want to go off in terms of deciding your investment strategy, however. This being possible, doesn't mean that it is probable or will happen.

Prices in the short term fluctuate drastically. I do think that we'll see a significant rally some time this year that would indicate the end of the bear market, but whether or not it comes in 4 months time is completely unknown to us. Currently, even though prices are above $4k, I still think there is some resistance that is making the market move sideways for a few days now.

Inflation is not that big. Decreasing it by half should pump price for few %. Rest is fomo and speculations - pump and dump. How much will it pump depends on many variables like:

• current bitcoin situation
• emotions on the market
• whales thoughts about future of altcoins based on transferring value

Well its very possible. 5500 is hard to break and would need more time but 5500 is achievable in 4 months.

If that happens we can confirm that the market is recovering and the bull run is very near. I've made a calculation, upon which I expect the growth should take the price to be between $6000 - $7000 by the calculated four months time. The growth experienced by that time will serve as a starting price point to the days of halving. Possibly we will experience similar market scenario as the previous halving.

It's a decent target at the very least and quite realistic. If things go well in the next few months, we may even get past that 5.5k point. The market i think is preparing to move up but not the way that many would hope for. 5.5k is not as hard to hit as those saying a bull run will get us 7 or 8k in a few months.

it is not a pump just because price goes up faster than people expect it to go up. and halving has always hyped things up but that only speeds up the rise that would have happened otherwise too. if it were actually a pump then it should have always been followed by a dump which it never did, instead we have only seen a simple correction before the rise continued.

i don't think so. $4200-$4500 and maybe even $5k itself are hard to break but the higher the price goes the more confidence comes back to the market and the easier it gets to soar up until $10k at least.

I'm sure it can be happen and hit that price at ber months not exactly 4 months as you said. So maybe around September we will see the price hit 5555 USD at 18m BTC. So, Good luck for hodlers. 

Looks like an interesting prediction but a meaningless conclusion, we have different views in predicting the market and I can't blame them what they are saying now. Well, for me I don't think too much ahead of time of predicting the market, I would rather wait and don't expect too much with a high prediction because it is hurt when you predicting but it won't happen.

After long time fighting with 6k support we should see retest of this level after braking it. And pump to 5500 could be it. Retest of consolidation prices and going back to hell again. Braking 5,5-6,5k resistance will confirm that the market is recovering.


Dump might happened weeks, months or even years after. What we see now? Litecoin dropped 90% from ATH. Halving decrease inflation by few % and people expect that it will pump price hundreds of %. Well its possible but not by fundamental reason which is decrease of inflation. Its possible because majority believes in pump. They buy causing it. If market would be unstable they will dump it after halving when they realise that its no longer growing. If market will be stable price might continue to grow.
Halving might become spark that creates fire but there must be lots of wood around to keep the fire going because its only halving. It's not BNB where binance is constantly buying coins from market pushing price up to burn them like they promise in whitepaper.

I could have like you to show us the technicalities on how we can get to that level in pricing and additional minining but you did not do that in your speculation sir.  I do really appreciate your view of the bullish tendencies and this encouraging some of us that has been holding for long.  I strongly believe that in four months time bitcoin should be better than were it is today and we should be above $5000 or $6000 as many news coming in is tent towards a positive future in bitcoin pricing.

It seems like he was just looking for numbers that would amount to a market cap of $100 billion. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it other than that.

Nonetheless, it's not an unreasonable prediction. If 2019 runs parallel to 2015, then this move to $5,555 would mimic the July 2015 rally which was crucial in establishing the end of the bear market.

Although its a reasonable prediction, but I doubt it would reach 18m circulating supply in roughly 4 months,. Give it atleast a couple of months more.
And the price might be a good approach as the market gradually recover from the long bearish season.

May I know what news you are referring to? Thus far every bit of positive news has been nullified by the effect of the bear market. The only good news event I can see affect the price is Bakkt launching or the SEC approving an ETF. The first is just a matter of time, the ETF will be something that will need years worth of maturing first. The SEC isn't going to allow Bitcoin to tap into a $4 trillion dollar market that easily.

The only certain event we have going for ourselves is the block halving next year. Technically speaking, a 100% increase is enough to undo the 50% lower block rewards for profitable miners, so don't expect a bull run to ignite any time soon. At current difficulty, a smaller miner called Mr Kristof said that the break-even point is around $3200, so imagine how much more of an advantage the larger farms have here. In other words, don't get too excited.

Reaching the value of the bitcoin at $5555 is good price when we reach 18 Million bitcoin. But I want to see the price to become more like better if we times 3 or 4 the value of your prediction so it means the bitcoin will recover again and back to the $20,000 of what it already reached before and I hope for the second time it will  hit again and I hope that's not only a dream but also a dream come true.

Maybe that can happen but not for a short time, I believe it will achieve more in the next few years, I am not easy to believe if there is no more detailed analysis from you to convince everyone here even though it is not entirely true, indeed all this is just a prediction just after the hype everywhere that raises BTC will rise quickly, we can only wait for all predictions to occur.

I wish that before 4 months, the price could increase up to $5555 so we don't have to wait for a long time ;D
Maybe the OP could share his prediction chart so we know how will the trend moves and we can learn from the chart to see the chance.
With the bitcoin price up and down like this, I am afraid that we need to wait for more because every time bitcoin price reaches $4000, it does not take too long to go down less than $4000 and now the price reaches $3981.

I think bitcoin still has a great chance to reach that price. we know that the potential of bitcoin for this year is quite large. I feel that this year the price of bitcoin will indeed reach a price of $ 5000, whether it's in the middle of the year, or the end of the year.

Good observation and thoughts, from your statement, it is possible that by the year 2020, Bitcoin will again explode :). 

About OP's prediction, it is somehow reasonable since we have seen a good sign of recovery, actually, OP's prediction is a bit conservative, we all know that Bitcoin is capable of 2000% growth in a year, remember 2017?

4 months is a lot of time already, surely there'll be a lot of good news that time, of course that includes a surprising news.
If we will reach that price, I would be happy but would happier if it's reaching $8,000 to $10,000.

I think $5.5K is a good prediction however it doesn't necesarrily mean we will stay above it.

When $6K broke, there was many short positions that entered. Basically many people were over-leveraged and got margin called/rekt/stops hit, and the the people who took the opposite side are the ones who are sitting at massive profit right now. Most of the smaller traders probably covered their positions but not all the larger traders.

Hence there is a good chance that we might retest the $6K area, however no idea if we can stay above this area. Most likely we might form a cup and handle towards the end of the year.

A 100 billion USD market cap is really low. ;D
I wish that we could reach 500 billion or 1 trillion.It's a goal that can be achieved for sure.
We just have to find a way to get rid of all the altcoins and make bitcoin more user-friendly that it actually is.

Hey I’ll agree with you as $5.5k is quite achievable in the short term, but I feel we need to first sustain 4k levels as we have yet not been able to sustain them. I feel once we can successfully cross $4k levels then only will we get a clear picture about how much can it rise. Also I’m not sure if we will be able to touch $6k soon, as we’re yet not able to sustain 4k levels as we can see currently bitcoins prices are falling down after reaching $4k level.

You know we have lots of traders making use of the market especially bitcoin market and for now, I think the number of sell is higher than buy and that is why we are seeing lots of fluctuations, we just need more investors to decide to invest in bitcoin for it to break that barrier.

If every month we can be getting at least 10 big investors that will keep their money in Bitcoin for long, it will keep increasing the bitcoin gradually and force of trading on it will not really matter and for now that we are in bear market, many people prefers to trade with their money this is why we may continue to experience this till we have a major bull break.

I don't think o p has any reason for his prediction which I believe it just a mere market speculation and is bound to happen and not to happen. Although, the probability of this speculation coming to fulfilment is insignificant.

crazier predictions, it`s a free world, people can think what they want.
   One thing is sure, with less Bitcoins left to be mined price will go up. This overlap can happen, in moment when Bitcoin reach 18 million coins

Most of them are talking about the halving of LTC would boost the price of Bitcoin but we all know that that's not gonna happen since LTC is just an altcoin which it couldn't make a boost to BTC since most of these altcoins are just depending on the price of Bitcoin.

I think Tom Lee should read this post so that in the future he also justifies, even if it is a small justification of why he believes will be able to reach the price X in month Z. However I believe that in 4 months we will still be stagnant in the $4000 or well below the $ 4000

it has become a natural thing for many people to predict the price movements of bitcoin, and at least you should not be surprised if you see many people trying to guess the price movements of bitcoin because they are just trying to speculate.

A nice prediction, which may also be true. But as on many other predict, I wouldn't rely on it. Especially not after the last few months. I don't expect a big price increase from this year but believe that it will come in 2020 or even 2021 at the earliest. Anyway, even my prediction can be wrong since the crypto market is unpredictable. But what has always been a good decision is just to wait. At some point prices have risen again and again.  ;)

You know what, the strange way that numbers and psychology work just might put that prediction through. The technicals seem to be right so far about another fall though. We're today crossing the 4k threshold for the 6th time now in as many weeks? But at ever weakening volumes, but at the same time accumulation also seems to be happening, and maybe that's really all the upswing trend we need to see for 5555 to come through.

I'll be somewhat disappointed if that signalled the end of the bear though. I'm not done accumulating:/

From the speculative point of view it is very credible and probable, because these movements of high volatility can occur, there are many expectations, the current market is lateralizing, it would be very good if the bitcoin starts to rise and see the altcoin in green again, if it is possible to accumulate at least 70% of the bitcoins, if such prediction is much more possible. Looking at it from the most positive point of view and due to the teachings of Tom Williams, the volume will increase little by little.

I am not sure about this prediction, the market is showing signs of recovery and there is a chance we would see those valuation in the coming months. The market is stuck around the $4k mark and if we could break the resistance then we might see those valuation, but how long does it take that to happen cannot be predicted as there is no set rules on how a market is valued.

It would not take a year, less that a year is needed and we will witness that this year.
The resistance is too strong, BTC still cannot break it, however the fact that we are at $4k now, the support is also huge, we will know who will win
and hopefully the resistance will be broken .

If we will see a rise, it's possible there another dump to happen, but I am not expecting it, just trying to be realistic.

Support just south of 6.000 seems to resemble, that 6k mark got a heavy resistance last time we were up there in November. So move above will take some time or some really good news.
And that 18.000.000 mined bitcoins will be in just around 4 months from now, so that round number cut starts a new bull run in its own, together with the Litecoin halving.
