Title: Avoid losing money with bitcoins
Post by: dirkdekeizer on March 19, 2019, 06:12:27 PM
Hi

I am wondering if there is some sort of site where you can exchange your bitcoins easily to real money or idk what and transfer back so you can avoid if btc drops.

Thanks

EDIT:

Thanks for all the info.

I am more looking for something like Skrill. You can transfer your normal money in bitcoins and transfer back in normal money.
Sadly you can't withdraw bitcoins so it's just for investing.

I live in Belgium and I am under 18 (but I can use fake identity proof but no selfie etc)

I got around 1 BTC and I am looking for some site where you have like a bitcoin wallet and a normal wallet and that you can transfer money between those wallets

I can't use a bank account

I guess almost every exchange platform offer you this option where you can exchange your bitcoins instantly into USD, and then buy it back whenever you want. You could also use a crypto debit card and withdraw the worth of your bitcoins in real money at the ATM then buy it back again using you card but thats not the best option because it involves to high fees and you also have a monthly limit so it will not help you if you want to make multiple transactions daily.

Why don't you first start using proper names. You aren't exchanging bitcoins to real money because bitcoin is also real. The term is fiat money or national currency. Bitcoin is more of an Internet currency or decentralized currency.
Choose an exchange that trades in your local currency. If you live in the EU it will be EUR, for a US citizen it will be USD. https://www.binance.com should suit your needs.

Yes, it's called a crypto exchange platform that deals with fiat currencies such as Kraken, Bitstamp, Gemini. Simply trade your BTC for €/$/£/Y. Then move your funds or lets them sleeping in the exchange. Or convert your bitcoins to USDT or another stable coin.
Simple as that.

You can easily use XAPO and similar providers where you have bitcoins in your wallet and can instantly exchange them with good fees + it offers you debit card so you can withdraw from any ATM with fixed fee or you can also use spectrocoin instead of XAPO and use their virtual/physical card which allows you to buy things online.
I don't know if you mean anothing other in avoiding btc drop.

Well, all depends on your location as such exist in most of the developed countries of the world. If you have a crypto currency debit card and crypto currency ATM are found in your locality then you will not have any problems on how to convert your crypto currency into fait currency. And you can equally found such a thing with some good crypto currency exchange company that has the option for convertion.

Each and every exchange starting from the small scale to the large scale exchange has got the trading pair of BTC/USDT, people can make use of this pair and keep the bitcoin in terms of USDT. Here when the market is in downtrend the loss can be minimized, but the same will not workout when the market is in uptrend. The value won't grow.

No need to withdraw your coins in the form of fiat money. Instead of exchanging your money to real(?) money, try to convert it to stable coins. Later you can buy back the same amount of BTC if the price drops further.

Here in my country, we have a local exchange where we can exchange bitcoin into fiat and withdraw instantly. So if bitcoin is in the bull market we can exchange our bitcoin into fiat instantly to avoid loses.

If you can give us more about your details where you live maybe we can recommend you the best exchange in your country like in India they have zebpay and US they have coinbase and EU countries they have Bitstamp.

Why not, find an exchange that supports Tether or USDT? Do you want to exchange your bitcoin into stable coin? If you just want to find a stable coin USDT is one of the best coins to exchange your Bitcoin while the market keeps dropping you can avoid your investment to lose its value.

Check this from here https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/tether and scroll down you can see all listed exchanges.

Where do you live? if you are living in a country where there's a local exchange that can help you exchanging your bitcoin into cash/fiat, you may use them most of the time.

I bet your question has been answered about exchange and you have an option to convert and save the value through USDT.

Check this from here https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/tether and scroll down you can see all listed exchanges.
also this; https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/tether/#markets not that much difference.

That's what all exchanges do, using more legitimate exchanges is my suggestion don't stick to small exchanges when dealing with fiat and don't leave too much on the exchange.
Right now we've got a number of exchanges with bitcoin getting different trading pairs. https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/ (https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/) you can go through the link where the different exchanges providing access to bitcoin trading. Pick the one that gives you the convenience and the expected service.

Its not easy to avoid losses and this should not be the game plan. Its easy to convert if its on the good exchanges and putting it into real money might be going through many process. I suggest to monitor the price everyday if you want to avoid the small dump and save your money.

That's not a good idea since there is a big difference with buy and sell price. The best way not to lose is just to hold your coin, don't make anything about your coin. In the long run, it will eventually get higher in value. Just buy when the price is affordable and don't panic when price drop since it's a normal thing for Bitcoin. You better store your coin in a safe wallet like Hodler wallet, in this way you'll not be tempted to do anything about your coin.

There are many platforms for exchange you have have to choose the legit site and where transaction fee is much lower so even you withdraw it, do not lessen much amount. You cannot lose when you wait for the price to rise again again as long as it is potential coin. Local exchange is mostly used for directly exchange into fiat.

Usually just have a scale on how much you can afford to lose, find exchanges like binance which support stop limit order, get to the usdt/btc pair and set up your order. I always order some exchange that doesn't support stop limit, like for some even for so long, you will never know how big whales will do with market and blind flooded you to stay HODL mood, like how trade forex stop limit is essential

Its not a good idea to convert your cryptos to fiats and then bringing them back again to cryptos because you will be facing alot of charges  .  you must decide properly if you really wanted to cash out your coins later that day then thats the perfect time that you will use the convert option or if you decide to secure the value of your cryptos permanently , that is also a wise decision to convert your cryptos to fiats  .

If you want to exchange Bitcoin for cash, the easiest way is to use Localbitcoin.

If your Btc already dropped and you don't want to lose money, then don't sell yet. Hold you btc until price will recover. You only lose when you sell.

Well Coinbase is very good. You can exchange your bitcoins, ethereum, bitcoin cash and further more cryptocurrencies directly to fiat without loosing anything except for a small fee.
You should check it also. Also has good referral system and it's faster than every other exchanger.

You can trust Coinbase without any issues.

Just remember one thing, if you sell your bitcoins for fiat, it gives you a fiat balance on the local exchange database and it is not fiat until you withdraw it to your Bank account. We always warn people not to store large amounts of bitcoins on exchanges, but we forget that they also hold large fiat balances on these exchanges.  ;)

Some more experienced traders use bots to trade for them, to reduce the possibility that they would loose money on their Crypto trading.  ;)

Most of the exchange site offer such services that enable you to convert your crypto to faint money and having it transferred directly to you traditional bank account, but the popular way we are exchanging bitcoin to paper money now is by selling it to other buyers in your local currency who then transfer the money to your Bank account and this is normally done using an escrow platform like remitano they offer such services you can give it a try.

But as you have describe, you seems to be describing the purpose of USDT, https://info.binance.com/en/currencies/tether

Most of the exchanges offers this feature so theres no questions abiut that, the real question is when will you be needing to exchange the bitcoin because crypto is volatile,it may drop in a minute and grows in the next.this is the major problem of each investos the right timing when to enter and when to go out

Check your local exchange platform if they have this option. Fortunately, our platform offers conversion from bitcoin to fiat or the other and also various services where you can use your bitcoins to pay online stuff or game credits.

Just remember one thing, if you sell your bitcoins for fiat, it gives you a fiat balance on the local exchange database and it is not fiat until you withdraw it to your Bank account. This is actually very informative. You need to be wary of banks as they often question your deposits and the origin from where it came from. I know someone who cannot fully withdraw his cash since the banks froze his account due to potential money laundering schemes.

I don't understand what you want, basically if you want exchange bitcoin to real money then as soon as you sell bitcoin to real money and then the transaction will be finished soon. But, what do you want or do you mean it might be trading without wanting to lose? Any form of loss will definitely occur and if you continue to be afraid to lose, you will never be able to learn every mistake and you will be difficult to make a profit.

Of course there is such a thing. There are many exchanges that offer you the opportunity to change your BTC in USD and withdraw it on your card. It is logical that an investor who invests in cryptomones will have the opportunity to withdraw their investments sometime. I recommend a well-known exchange that also has a light user interface. This is https://www.binance.com. It is the most known exchange today and many investors use it. Good luck!

There are many exchanges that provide these services, you can use international services and even many services in your country. Bitcoin is now very easy to access and use, the willingness and curiosity about using Bitcoin is good which will determine whether we are comfortable using Bitcoin or not. Changing Bitcoin to FIAT currency is easy and only requires a few steps depending on the regulations in the exchange.

My contribution will be base on the subject; Newbies are to be mindful of losing money invested into bitcoin without proper individual research, and also, they are not encourage to get involve in trade because trade involve skills to avoid looses at the end. But, there must be lose before gains even in the real world, so, invest what you can afford to loose, if luck on your part, then gain more.

Most of the major exchange site are offering this kind of exchange which is the USDT. So what is USDT?

According to 99bitcoins.com: "Tether is something of a hybrid. It’s a cryptocurrency that a government has declared to be legal tender, but is not backed by a physical commodity. For example the US dollar, the Euro and almost any other country related currency you can think of. "Fiat" “stablecoin.” Its value is pegged or rather, tethered—to the value of fiat currencies.

USD₮ is the currency that Tether most frequently uses. Tether has been pegged as being equal to the world’s official reserve currency: the US Dollar. More specifically, 1 USD₮ is intended to remain exactly equal to $1—not a cent more or less. It’s basically a crypto dollar
"

So if you really afraid of the volatility of the market then you should immediately exchange your cryptos to USDT and if you're ready to take risk again then buy a crypto using the USDT again.

You need to go to localbitcoin and find recommended sellers so you can exchange your bitcoin and ask him to send the money to your bank account. That is the only way you can do to convert the bitcoin directly, and I think you don't have to wait for a long time. But there will be an easy way if you can find a local seller which you already know, so you only need to send the bitcoin to him, and he will send the money to your bank account. That will be a simple way for every people who want to convert the bitcoin to real money.

The best idea is to convert your BTC into a stable coin like USDT.  It is good and recommended practice that you should not keep your coins in exchange so withdraw them to your own wallet.
Converting BTC into fiat  and again converting fiat to BTC should be avoided if you want to keep invested in BTC.

You can even find many buyers and sellers right here on this forum in the currency exchange section.  If you find trusted members you are completely safe sending first.  Then you will end up paying less fees as well considering how much exchanges charge for trading and the withdraw fee.

How about using an exchange? When the price falls, there is no way you can convert it instantly, but you can use an exchange to convert your coins to USDT (I don't support USDT though. You should do your own research and determine if its okay to convert to usdt or not). But, just keep in mind that keeping huge amount of money on an exchange wallet is never safe. The exchange might get hacked anytime and you might lose all your coins.

My issue is that I can't trade it for like a bank transfer. I have no idea for what I could sell the bitcoins, I am under 18. I can't use a bank account, PayPal, Skrill

I thought wirex got something but you need to be 18 (with selfie proof)

Honestly, wouldn't that be better for the OP if he just hodls the Bitcoin? Unless he is really afraid the price is gonna drop and die... but I wouldn't really think so. Unless he *needs* money and it's a dire need, not for comfort? Then it's a different thing entirely.
Well, I guess he can always try Bisq.

I don't quite get it if you are asking for a place where you could easily convert your BTC into Fiat then you should use an exchange or trading platform.
But if you are asking about a site where you could convert your BTC into cash wothout using a bank then I think you should look for a local wallet, Just like our local wallet here in the Philippines which is called "coins.ph"
We could use it to convert BTC into cash or the other way around cash out and cash in BTC in many ways, But you also have to send a valid ID and do the selfie to verify your account.
And you could always look for a friend who would buy your crypto in cash if you want.

The coins.ph that you are talking about is only available in the philippines and i see that op is from belgium . he cant use coins.ph but he can still use other wallets out there , like blockchain.com for example and if im not mistaken , blockchain.com dont ask for id upon signing up although you may need an i.d when cadhing out larger amount of cash or cryptos  .  electrum is also a good wallet that didnt ask for i.d verfication  .

I got around 1 BTC and I am looking for some site where you have like a bitcoin wallet and a normal wallet and that you can transfer money between those wallets

I can't use a bank account

If you are afraid of the volatility of bitcoin, now you can convert / save your bitcoin into stable coins like USDT. I think, most of the exchanges have included USDT as a coin supported by their exchange. That is the best way so far if we want to avoid volatility but still has coin that we can use in the future for many purposes.

Sound like you are looking for exchanger. If yes, then you could choose few good exchange like Binance, bittrex or poloniex. So you can convert your bitcoin into USD. But I don't think you can withdrawal USD directly from exchange. If your local bank is not allowing to withdraw then you have to use their party like you said skrill if you want cash. So better choose a best exchange and convert into usd if you are worry about volatility of bitcoin.

you can use many exchange, their have different pair example USDT,CNY,JPY,KRW and many more.
but i dont recomend you safe your balance on exchange for longterm.
Even if we exchange it into good coins it is still hard not to lose money. Staying your precious coins on one exchange is really bad, you have to be secured always. Try to have a positive trade with the coins and if the market dumps try to cut losses and invest again.

I guess what you meant is, converting fiat currency to Bitcoin instantly to avoid lossing big chunk when the price constantly drop. If you have local exchange in your place, then its much easier for you to do so. Or if not, there are a lot of exchanges in the list just google it and pick the most recommended one.

You are under 18 but you have this much amount, yeah I mean that 1 BTC is really enough and many.
However, some exchanges may need your selfie photo for verifying your identification, right?
Actually, every country commonly has its first exchange that can enable you to withdraw Bitcoin or other cryptos easily to cash with a certain fee.
However, I think we can still leave some BTC in the exchange because personally, I believe that BTC can rise again.
However, yeah, it will take longer time as we imagine.

If you decide to invest crypto, you must prepare everything from the start until the worst.
Just consider profit as the bonus !

Luckily I can convert into fiat when my local exchange already exist over 5 years !

sorry before in which country do you live?
because members of this forum are different countries, I suggest you use an exchange that supports bitcoin exchanges in your country. like I use Exchange INDODAX which can be exchanged for local money in my country.

If I convert in USDT, do you think the price will be the same for example in 5 years? Is it really stable or can anything happen

Also, is tether.to the only site where I can have USDT?

You can hedge your bitcoin value, but you need to be careful at funding. On Bitmex for example you can buy future contracts and sell spot contracts. This way you will protect your value. But you will need to pay or receive a funding fee each 8 hours which can vary. Especially if you are a newbie I don't recommend doing this. I think a crypto debit card would be the best option.

A crypto debit card seems the best solution for me. I think I'll have to wait a few months because I am not 18 yet.

I hope btc won't drop hard

Most of the centralized exchange are normally asking for personal information to their individual traders by requiring them to submit KYC, for them to withdraw if ever they get profit while doing trade in the market exchange platform. Now if you want to avoid this things you can use decentralized exchange like DEX, forkdelta and coinexchange something like that.

I think there is no such exchange, where you can avoid the fluctuations that exist. all existing exchanges give you facilities to exchange them for fiat and vice versa. of course you can't guarantee you get the same value for that exchange because the price keeps moving

Not an exchange but i think i've come across such a wallet. It's a mobile app called coins and it's basically a wallet for fiat, btc, eth and probably 2 more cryptos. You can easily convert your btc to fiat and vice versa though of course there are fees you have to pay per transaction, but i think that fits the functionality you'e looking for.

I suggest you try https://www.virwox.com (https://www.virwox.com) service.
Here you can exchange your bitcoin to the real mony but through their internal exchange service.
In such way you can transfer your cash directly to Paypal and they will not know that this money comes from bitcoin.
It's great service for me :)

there are many exchanges like Kraken, Gemini, Bittrex, and the likes that offers option where you can trade your bitcoins to fiat of USD  which helps keep your fund stable without decreasing or increasing. but most of these centralized exchanges usually require KYC of which you are still below 18. somehow you will need to get verified to be able to withdraw in fiat currency. you might need to wait till you turn 18 and then get verified with valid documents.

..this is so called crypto exchange..you can trade your btc earn and convert it into your own fiat money if you want..trade on most popular crypto exchange like Bittrex, Binance, Poloniex..but most of the crypto exchange site needs KYC which means you need to reveal the whole identity of you..so it is better that you use your real name and wait until you reach the age of 18 so that you can have a valid documents in passing kyc..

why don't you try local bitcoins?
https://localbitcoins.com/
be careful not to get scammed , read all of the terms and rules carefully
alternatively , use one of the many exchanges posted in this topic
but the vast majority of them wil lrequire you to verify your identity to be able to withdraw fiat money

I think it is not that simple. We know that each transactions of converting bitcoin to our physical money needs to use the services of an exchange. During any transfer even how simple the miners would use electricity and therefore it is impossible to do it without any expenses. We also know for a fact that when you want something in exchange for another thing is what makes business live. So there is no shortcut to this idea. You have to pay for the service rendered and that is business.

I think the question on exchange is cleared on you now.

It doesnt matter if you are under 18 years old as long as you understand how to do it well there are lots of exchange that dont required KYC so there is no need for you to send a selfie and etc. you just need to find one that suites in your country.

Then go on binance, you can save your btc in an exchange and binance is one of the best exchange for volume and market cap. You can do trade whenever you want it could be other coin or btc to usd the  usd to btc. By this way you can catch profit through buy and sell
You don't get what OP wants, do you? It's not just OP wants to find a good exchange but he wants to trade his fiat currency to BTC then trade to fiat currency again without affecting the outcome since Bitcoin has volatility. A proper way to trade it is to use USDT to avoid losing some money of it due to the volatility.

It depend on what country where you are. Here in Ph your problem is not a problem. Using coins.ph your problem is not a problem. It is easy to encash your bitcoin. Find some application or site to convert your coin to dollar.  But on your age the best thing to do is to divide your cash out transactions diviible by small amount to avoid some transaction hassle.

I tried various ways in order not to loose money, but sadly most of them were dissapointing. I learnt not to trust too much the "well-known" exchange platforms. Currently, I'm using Coindeal and so far had no problems with it. USD, GBP, EUR, KRN, RUB, you name it. Also, they offer a voting system that allows the users to choose the next availible cryptocurrency.

indeed some exchangers who provide pairs on FIAT currencies such as USD ask KYC to make withdrawals so that those with less than 18 years of age must wait for their age. or maybe they can use their parents' identities to take shortcuts.

I don't really see any problem with that. I mean when it comes to exchanges, it's easier for any scammer to take your money by having access to your account. Giving the exchange your information actually adds to the security and would likely make it easier to fix things in case your accont gets hacked. These are real money we're talking about anyway.

Of course, if it exists, I do not know if in Belgium it is localbitcoins.com, or Uphold, they are really reliable platforms, although I recommend that every time you go to make a transaction with someone, always check your reputation and choose one that has a good reputation . , this to guarantee security, since many times they can review ready.

Try some exchange houses, there are some money changers who are always bitcoin enthusiasts and can set a price at which it is possible to give FIAT money and safely, this if you have some kind of terminal nearby, in Colombia there are people who are enthusiastic and The only thing that is done is the transfers and they give you the Fiat money.

Well you have that option in most of the exchanged, but you title is misleading but if you are looking for where you can convert bitcoin to paper money there are so many ways you can do that through direct debit card into you Bank account or through other bitcoin exchangers ways.
Yeah the title seems to be advice when the truth is he wants advice, thats really misleading lol

But he has some options and some are given by other users

What he wanted now is skrill as what the edit says so i guess this topic is done already and need to be locked
