Wow! that's a good news. Since it is the largest retail online store in Switzerland, I hope many other stores in the country would follow this idea. I think their service only available in Switzerland. If other online store giants around the world would do the same then, this is going to be huge. What's the governments stand on cryptocurrencies in Switzerland?

Switzerland is a free country and their government is open to all kinds of thing including cryptocurrency. This kind of news is good for cryptocurrency user who lives in Switzerland, its good to have an alternative payment option other than fiat money.

Switzerland already have its own cryptocurrency, but I'm not sure about its perfect functioning. Switzerland is a crypto friendly country and it has got more bitcoin ATMs and crypto accepted services. This being a small country has largest number of banks as the informations were kept secure. With this more people from different countries around the world invest here. Now a retail network accepting bitcoin into their business is truly good for the growth of bitcoin.

The recent rise in market price has been as a result of good news feeding in like the one OP shared. It's a old video (last year September), but it shows the LN is really moving so fast in that country. The video shows someone buying sandwich and coffee in a store in Bern through bitcoin's Lighting Network. So I wouldn't be surprised if big companies like Digitec Galaxus, based in Switzerland began to accept bitcoin as payment because even small stores there are already accepting bitcoin.

Switzerland has been the center for bitcoin development and acceptance for the past few years until they lagged behind other countries such as Japan and South Korea. Though we never heard a lot of groundbreaking news from Switzerland regarding bitcoin since 2016, knowing how the country is home to innovative fintech and other great ideas, they have always been open regarding bitcoins and cryptocurrencies. Their biggest online retail chain accepting bitcoin and cryptos wholly is just a prime example of how open the Swiss are when it comes to bitcoin and crypto, and they are also doing the right thing, too, by letting a retail store accept crypto for people to spend their money to. We need more adoption happening in terms of merchants integrating crypto and not just platforms for investors and traders that makes bitcoin more of an asset and less of what its intended use is.

You sure about that? The news came out 3 days ago, and the market didn't even react to it, in fact, the price went down a little bit a few days after the news was released. I don't think crypto news coming from Switzerland will have a big impact on the market in the future, mainly because the crypto space already knows that this country has been very pro-bitcoin/cryptocurrencies for a very long time so it's not surprising to read these kind of news. We might see a reaction from the market if more big retailers around europe follow the same strategy.

Switzerland is a very cunny country. It managed to avoid participating in 2 World Wars, it managed to avoid the immigrants problem by banning halal killing of animals as well as mosques. It is now rather friendly towards cryptocurrencies, while at the same time being the most stereotypical country of reliable bank accounts! If the revenue of that company was truly almost a trillion dollars last year, it's a big step towards adoption. It's interesting, however, whether it would not increase the tensions. My thought is that Switzerland manages to be both pro-bank and pro-crypto, because it leaves money to banks and proclaims cryptos a type of property. In the case with Digitec Galaxus, however, cryptos are definitely treated as money.

There will be fixed rate of price for 15 minutes? I think they should reconsider about this plan. Bitcoin price may drop down or go up significantly in 15 minutes or even less. If they provides fixed price then it could be very bad business for them when the price dropped down significantly.

Wow! Another online retail store are accepting crypto currencies as a payment method. This is great. As I can see, the influence of the crypto currencies are keep on improving these days. I am hoping that this year, we will have a much better crypto life.

That is great to see more store adopting bitcoin and method of payments and even other cryptocurrency in the market it such a great news and this will be followed by other online stores to start accepting digital currencies.

I am more convinced that their online companies accept payments with real money from local banks or with USD, because bitcoin experiences ups and downs that are not always stable at all times. at least this company must think longer to receive BTC payments.

Now I have seen everything, This is surely great news for the community but is it enough to make a comeback or a pump on the price, I really think this is not enough to make a recovery from the sudden price lost, But this can become a step forward to make a decent increase in the price in a manner of a natural way in making a movement, If Switzerland can establish this kind of thing I think in different country like Switzerland if they accept cryptocurrency a sudden movement can make it happen I am not talking about bull run up ahead but a sure increase on the movement of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
