Title: https://www.banknoteworld.com/ is now accepting Bitcoin
Post by: Baofeng on March 23, 2019, 04:24:32 AM
I don't know if there are a lot of bitcoin enthusiast who are also into collecting bank notes all over the globe. If there is one then I'm happy to say that https://www.banknoteworld.com/ just started accepting bitcoin as well.

They ditch Paypal, and then replace it with Bitcoin.  ;D

It will go to the usual payment processor Bitpay upon checking out.

Not the most bullish news out there, but adoption is always welcomed. I took a quick look at this website, and the bestsellers are banknotes from countries that suffered hyperinflation like Zimbabwe and Venezuela...interesting.

They ditch Paypal, and then replace it with Bitcoin.  ;D
This caught my attention as it's something that you don't see or hear very often...makes me wonder what was the reason to just stop using paypal, I bet it has something to do with chargebacks and whatnot. Either way, soon this will be the norm among all merchants around the world (:

Probably Paypal support is becoming worse by the day. I don't know if you guys are aware but eBay also abandoned Paypal since last year.

Why eBay abandoned PayPal for a smaller European competitor (https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/01/why-ebay-abandoned-paypal-for-a-smaller-european-competitor.html)

EBay Rises to Record High on Shift to Adyen; PayPal Tumbles (https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-01-31/ebay-to-ditch-paypal-for-dutch-processor-adyen-lowering-costs)

Yeah, probably a good sign ahead for crypto enthusiast around the world.  ;D

Good news, not too big though. We need more adoption in banking industries. It will be a matter of time before bullrun comes again, I feel it. There are sudden changes in the crypto currencies atmosphere. Lesser news of negativity and more good news like this. Goodjob they chose to use Bitcoin, I even ditched my Paypal account last yea and now using solely on BTC payments.

Probably paypal is the worst payment method nowadays and many people start leaving this payment processor and move to crypto. Hopefully, there will be much more adoption this year and to be honest I would like to see much more online marketplace start accepting bitcoin so I can buy some equipment from other countries easily without credit card or paypal.

We can't indicate PayPal as the worst payment method, it is the one that is getting much used on cross border transactions. Until bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies legal acceptance PayPal will have its user base on cross border e-commerce. Maybe at some instance some could've stopped using PayPal. This is not the reality with majority users of PayPal.

Yup, Adoption is always good and welcome news.
Accepting payment using Bitcoin helps in saving a lots of hurdle and transaction fees if you need to do payment overseas.

As various news spring out on companies accepting Bitcoin as means of transactions, it further expands the physical use case of Bitcoin and open more opportunities for more. It may not be a bullish news but it is good news for the community.

I agree that this is a good news but it won't put a dent on a price. But it's nice to hear that big merchants started to realised the potential of crypto and thus they chooses it over PayPal. Maybe in the next coming years, we will see more adoption growing and just a matter of time before other merchants/business companies will start accepting bitcoin.

Correct, as bitcoin is borderless, it will save us dealing with third parties specially if transaction is oversees.

I agree. It may not be a bullish news, but this news will put bitcoin in the radar for most online businesses. Little by little we will see companies will start accepting bitcoin as mode of payment proving that it can also be used as currency, not just as an investment platform for majority of us.

when many platforms support BTC transactions, this will support the prospect of BTC in the future and easier for using.

I never thought there's a website selling worldwide banknotes, its surprise me that even my country's banknote is available there.

They ditch Paypal, and then replace it with Bitcoin.  ;D

I think they chose Bitcoin over Paypal as a payment platform because it's irreversible. I wonder how much is the profit of this website, where do they got it and do they buy straight from the people who collects and wanted to sell.

I love this. Great news. Its a right step in the right direction. This shows that main stream adoption of bitcoin is gradually coming to bare. More platforms will accept bitcoin as unit of payment. Personally I am currently accept bitcoin and five alts for my reciepts.

very good news, very big progress for cryptocurrency because the adoption of Bitcoin is openly accepted as a payment option on the site let alone its position to replace PayPal

What we need now is relative price stability and mass adoption. We need more platforms to adopt the use of bitcoin. When bitcoin demand grows, price grows as well. That is the law of demand and supply. Just be patient and stock up your wallet. Wait for the ride

bitcoin is clearly better than paypal in terms of transactions, this news of progress for crypto in increasing adoption is increasingly widespread, I agree with banknotewarld's decision to dump paypal which has deteriorated

The transition will become the norm, it is just a snowballing effect, no one could really stop Bitcoin adoption. Recently one of the Switzerland e-commerce platforms is accepting Bitcoin as a way of payments, now it's the BankNoteWorld accepted it. The adoption process has already begun and growing over and over. I don't actually understand why would people still having a doubt about cryptocurrencies.

Nevertheless, The technical side of BItcoin require significant improvements too, don't make people lose their interest because of congested Network, and unnatural fees.

Soon we can find this to be common as traditional fiat acceptance. Now somewhere around the world someone accepting bitcoin is a big news. Soon we can see cryptocurrency acceptance a simple thing as everything will have a cryptocurrency payment gateway. What we experience by now is just the beginning for large scale adoption.

It does not mean anything to Bitcoin as a currency, it means, we accept any money as long as we can convert it into US dollars or any paper currency.

Many individuals and companies have deliberately become this kind of acceptance because it provides a large market for those who are not using their bank cards or the recent problems plagued by PayPal.

As for BTC, it means that it has not been officially accepted since the site did not even refer to the cryptocurrency. "In other words, we are beginning to see a new kind of bank based on cryptos."

Personally though, I think if you can used bitcoin as currency, then it means a lot as we all know that it was originally designed to be used as payment method. And as long as you can used it to buy online then there nothing wrong about it.

Many individuals and companies have deliberately become this kind of acceptance because it provides a large market for those who are not using their bank cards or the recent problems plagued by PayPal.

Win-win situation for them and for unbank crypto enthusiast.

As for BTC, it means that it has not been officially accepted since the site did not even refer to the cryptocurrency. "In other words, we are beginning to see a new kind of bank based on cryptos."

Even though this is not a very big shop and their merchandise is limited to only a few people who are interested in this kind of things, I think it's great to see that even small shops start adding bitcoin to their payment methods. Small by small we build bigger and that's exactly what we need. Small business to accept bitcoin do that people could use it and make it more popular in order for bigger business to find out.

It makes sense that the hyperinflated banknotes are the most popular, because many people want to have a banknote that has a very high denomination like million and above. It doesn't really make you rich, but it still allows you to call yourself a millionaire   ;D
As for replacing PayPal with Bitcoin, another reason for this might be that PayPal is not 100% available around the world. For one, there's a small list of countries that don't have PayPal at all, but in my country, for example, PayPal has very limited functioning: we can spend PayPal money but not receive it (so, basically the only money we can spend via PayPal is the money from our bank accounts that we synchronized with PayPal).

Seems ironic considering it is called banknoteworld. I'm guessing people would rather trade in their bank notes to accept Bitcoins. Smart move for the company.  8)

The only thing that can save paypal now is for them to start accepting bitcoin. My bet is that will introduce some type of paypalcoin, which will run on ethereum or tron

That's a great news. If it is true, I think this is the start for the bitcoin acceptance in the market and acceptance of netizens to use bitcoin. Itvis a good start because a big merchant will start to accept so other merchant same small or big will need to follow to go with the flow and to stay in the market because when the time people will know about that they will choose to use bitcoin rather than manual or cash transactions.

this will only happen on the day governments regulate bitcoin
