Title: The purpose of using bitcointalk
Post by: Bitcoin Smith on March 26, 2019, 01:57:40 AM
I am literally very new here and spend lot of my time for reading all those threads which gave more knowledge about crypto currency and I feel lucky to be here since I am gaining all these information for free.

But later I found that this forum also has opportunity to make money through bounties which requires high rank and high merits under your profile so just want to know about the people why they were here and also express your opinion what you had learned here so far.

You know what's better than being able to learn and discuss bitcoin and cryptocurrency related stuff? Being able to do so while earning a bit of money. It's not one or the other for everyone(though obviously a significant amount of people are only here for the bounties).

Agree with this statement because it's not mutually exclusive.
I'm here to add value to the community in the form of educated opinions while earning some money in exchange for my time :)

I'm here simply to be able to discuss about bitcoin. Reddit used to be my home, but it has been really crappy since the 2017 bubble. Lots of idiots think their coin is better just because it's faster and cheaper.

I don't see anything wrong with being able to make money though. As long as you're not spamming.

I am here because of both things, initially I joined the forum only for the purpose of earning bounty and not caring about the forum. Until I read a very good article by a senior member of the forum:

 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5109395.msg49719540#msg49719540   author "mocacinno".

The article accurately describes things that new people like me often encounter: time consuming for  websites that require free bitcoin, I also experience and understand how useless it is.  I started reading many things on the forum, before I came here just to report the bonus topic, but now I start taking the time to read useful topics. I discovered what the forum gave me was bigger than the meager bonus from participating in the media campaign, which was the knowledge I learned.

There are lots of useful things that you may have missed: the concept of bitcoin, altcoin, technical information, ways to avoid scams, protect assets .. These things help you a lot in understanding the cryptocurrency market, it is the most useful thing that the forum gives you. Moreover when you contribute helpful articles, provide answers, useful information for others, you can increase your rankings on the forum. Believe me, the high ranking on the forum will help you participate in signature campaigns and earn more bounty than social media campaigns.

I initially solely came here in early 2015 to learn about cryptocurrency and mostly mining, and I'm still here for mining and other cryptocurrency-related discussion to keep up to date with the latest crypto news. This forum's my number one go-to for discussion about crypto services as there's information on just about every one out there here- same goes for mining, there's really no better place than this forum to discuss about mining for both alts and Bitcoin. Signature campaigns are a great bonus and they help out high-quality posters on here.

I used to read quite often in the r/Bitcoin subreddit as well, but the post quality there has indeed declined since the 2017 ATH and I now mostly stick to r/Bitcoinmarkets for TA and a small look at market sentiment too. The daily discussions in the Bitcoinmarkets subreddit are great if you're into trading.

Honestly speaking, the first time I joined, it was about mining altcoins and airdrops. Later on, for the signature campaigns. Still, I enjoy reading Meta when there are lots of dramas going about :D

Thanks everyone for sharing their views but still looking for more people to atleast vote the pools. :)

Pools are normally not very successful here in terms of casted votes. Getting anywhere near a hundred or so replies is rather a feat, and happens rarely. As has been mentioned on these thread, the pool options you provide are not mutually exclusive, and while one’s entry point motivation could be learning or bounties, with time they could invert or even open up to both.

Surprisingly, nobody has voted yet for the "to make money from bounties" option, although the post was created not long ago. Taking into account the amount of bounty related reports/spam/posts that are made here, either the post is not read much yet (51 reads so far), or people think that the survey may somehow lead to their vote going public (which they don’t). Give it time though.

I tried to edit the pool once I read those replies but I don't find the options to open both only I can see that add options.

So it is possible to open both now or need to create new pool?

Still now I can see 100% vote on "to learn about crypto currency" include my vote. But my honest review is, people's come here for both. You should add one more option " For learn and earn" in my opinions. It's true, even me I am also earning on the other hand learning too. Every one earning from this forum from different way expect few members. I think only 2% members never think about earn here. It just in my opinions, and all others 98% earning and learning as well.

Let I tell you the fact that.
If people don't know answer for their questions, they don't ask.
Answers are available, and they have answers for themselves.
This is why mediocre teachers don't give their learners answers/ solutions immediately and directly.
Those kind of teachers separate their learners' questions into smaller pieces, and give those pieces back to their learners.
Eventually, learners who raise questions will be able to find out answers themselves.

Learning while earning looks honest for me,and most of the people wore signature it means they are earning here as well. :)

Anyone can guide me how to edit the pool plz.

<...> So it is possible to open both now or need to create new pool?
If you mean switching the poll from single option selection to multiple option selection, you can’t. But you can add additional options such as "both" or "to learn about crypto currency, but extended to bounties overtime" or "to make money from bounties, but extended to learning about cryptocurrencies overtime". No need to create a new poll (which would require a new thread).

If you were to make substantial changes, the poll allows you to reset vote counts to 0, which I figure also allows people to revote.

Thanks, for now I will just add "both" as one one more option.

I used to spend more time on Reddit and other blogs for learning cryptocurrency stuff. But as good and valuable platforms can't be hidden, I somehow got to know about Bitcointalk and boom! It is not the only place you can learn new things from but one can earn a handsome amount from bounties as well.

From bitcointalk, I've learned blockchain mechanism, ICO, ISO, IEO, Masternodes and more. ICO research used to be a great section here as people with a different mindset place different personal opinions about a project and one can have a to z about that project. I still remember a thread which exposed a hyped project by depth-research of team member's profiles.

In the end, bitcointalk has become a number one place for cryptocurrency related stuff for me. Let's see how far it goes. :)

At the current situation I am learning and earning from bitcointalk just like most of the fellow bitcointalk members. You also can make some bucks when you have enough rank to wear signature and avatar.

I first visited this forum to learn about cryptocurrencies. And I registered here for this purpose, to ask here the questions that interest me. But after a few months I learned that you can earn here. Now I'm here mostly for that. But, of course, sometimes learn and useful information. One does not interfere with the other!

Certainly or if someone says he's here just to learn yet you see his wearing signature, oh c'mon, that will be most hypocrite thing I ever heard. We're here for both though earning is a side way of having here while learning is at most.

Yet I'm in awe to know that bounty is still see it as way of earning since ICOs now are blatantly gone.

Bitcointalk is a place for learning about cryptocurrency. I have joined here to learn and discuss about various technical aspects of bitcoin. Most of the persons join here for learning. Until joining the forum, I didn't know people can make money here.

Yes I am aware that I need 4 activity still to get the member rank and I guess it will happen soon.

Anyone here knows when will be the next activity breakdown?

I joined this forum because I was curious to know what is that Bitcoin thing all my friends were talking about. My tech background helped me a lot and after few months I accumulated more knowledge about this technology than any of my friends.
I can't express the joy I had when I was answering their questions and helping them when their transactions don't get confirmed or advicing them about the best wallet they should install...

Then I noticed it was possible to earn money by joining bounties, so I did. It was time consuming without mentioning the frustration when you discover the project you were promoting is nothing but a scam. I decided to join only pay per post campaigns managed by reputable members, this way, I am sure to get both: knowledge and money.

I came here to save my money. This forum is part of my DYOR about coins whether I should buy them or not. I browsed this forum as a guest for  approximately for a month before  joining it.

I don't know but I just hooked with this forum once I joined.
