Telegram channel might be a good alternative for someone who has high mobility, but I still think that creating a website or blog will attract more visitor, moreover you can get some money from ads. However, I really appreciate you doing this. Creating a telegram channel that Provide news and information are way better than creating a channel that disguises as a crypto signal, when it actually just a pump and dump.

Now telegram has become  a very important media for crypto currency discussion especially in telegram group where experts give their opinion and general investors enjoy that discussion and decide to invest. So this telegram group is such a crypto trade related group that serves for the well being of the new traders.

I think it is a very good idea once there is consistency by you and your team in giving out news to your subscribers, from the statistics I gathered, people will be more interested in going to telegram to get news about crypto than visiting a website because it is way more easier, this is why crypto news website like cointelegraph and some others also created a telegram group even though they already had a website.
