Post by: Vladdirescu87 on March 28, 2019, 08:10:32 PM
The U.S. technology giant, in partnership with MasterCard and Goldman Sachs, has announced its new product known as Apple Card, which is largely a digital credit card and will be ready to start working in summer of this year. The card is created for convenience and to help the company’s customers gradually appreciate the concept of crypto currency and other financial payment forms.

"appreciate the concept of crypto currency and other financial payment forms."

They dont appreciate actually the concept of crypto but rather i do see that they do adopt and use it for the sake of their companies reputation to retained for future years to come.
Talking about on what does this thing mean for crypto? Nothing.  Apples credit card is no different from a traditional credit/debit card which do still make use of traditional fiat system.

I didn't understand it completely.

Is it a credit card or is it a crypto card, or both? If it is only a CC then it doesn't affect crypto. They will be competing with the banks. If they make the card crypto ready, then it is good for us. More adoption is always good.

It's nothing more than a loyalty program that will offer payback points and will be usable only if you want to buy Apple products. They are saying they will integrate it with crypto payments later but nobody knows how long it will take. It looks like they are using promises of crypto transactions to promote an ordinary card with a very limited spending.

Do any of you buy at Apple Store often enough to justify getting a personalized card?

another clickbait product from apple. interestingly, some news media frame this as bitcoin killer while the other said this is a big step for adoption. hmm, media these days are so fucked up.

Oh well, what do you expect? another click bait article,  ;D. This is has nothing to do with crypto whatsoever, just a card for loyalty. Admit it or not, there are still a lot of Apple fan-boys out there and this might be the target of the launch. I must admit that I used Apple products, but just because my kids wanted to get their hands on them, and I'm not that rich, btw. ;D
