Title: Is lynx-mining.com legit?
Post by: maranello1561 on March 12, 2014, 02:30:57 PM
Hi
This may be a newbie question. Is lynx-mining a legitimate business? I'm looking into cloud hosting because my apartment has now hit what I consider the limit with 6 Antminer S1s, so can only looking at hosting or cloud for more. Is there a better alternative? Thanks!

Look at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=500988.0.

Quickly skimmed the site, there's no indicators it's a legitimate business.

I saw an ad for them, and started searching.  Their web site refers to their Twitter feed.  When I check there, there have been no tweets since Feb. 26.  I don't know if they're legit or fraud.  But being silent for about three weeks does not impress me.  I would think if they really wanted to advertise for their grand opening, they'd be tweeting all over the place.

To know that site legit or not you can follow these methods given below:
You can read user reviews, problems, their quires, responses and rating about the site in http://webutation.net

You can also do a whois search in the site WhoisXY.com (http://www.whoisxy.com/)  and know the owner, technical, administrative contact details etc.. you can use the phone number or email id which you get in whois search and try to contact the person and clarify your doubts.

If the site has SSL certificate it is good site for transactions. SSL certificate enabled site looks like https://paypal.com.

There's a simple thing people want to see (or should want to at least) that these scam sites refuse to show you:

Transactions showing payouts originating from block rewards.

Payouts going through coinjoin or other mixers? It's a ponzi.
Payouts based on some formula instead of blocks mined? It's a ponzi.
Company gives no insight into their farm? It's a ponzi.

You get the picture.
