Title: Am I the only one concerned about the KYC requirement here?
Post by: alh on April 01, 2019, 04:11:47 AM
I just observed the prompt about providing KYC (Know Your Customer) information to continue using the Forum here. While I am pretty sure I provided some personal information, SSN and/or Credit Card info is way over the line for me in terms of this kind of Forum. I get it for a bank where large amounts of money changes hand, but this feels way to intrusive, or perhaps the whole point of the forum is changing and I just didn't realize it.

It's rare for me to start a thread, but I wanted some other thoughts.

Are you seriously worried?

Which day is it now again?  ::)

It is an April fools joke.

I agree 100%. I never thought I will have to send a selfie publicly to a forum, just to comply.
But I believe in theymos' honesty and I did send the selfie (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5124947.msg50404306#msg50404306). And I also got verified very quick. You should do the same.

I'd be worried if you are a troll, "Am I a troll?" That is the question you should be doing it hehe

But how does he managed to find my exact coordinates, while I was flying thru the ocean? No reception, no wifi, no GPS :D :D :D

This is way much better than last year's April 1st joke :D

I'm very concerned about the new KYC requirements, because the only picture that I had available was one which shows me when I was very angry. Is it against the law to assault and throw a bear?

I admit that I tried to originally cheat the system by presenting a naked picture of my ex-wife. But then I had a change of heart. However, I just got done talking with her on the phone over my back alimony payment, so I am now going to repost the naked picture of her for all to see.

All kidding aside. Just so you know, if you actually sent the form, it was routed to 127.0.0.1, from what I read on other parts of this forum. This address is the loopback address so it should not have leaked outside of your devise.

Theymos has a lot of ideas trolling members on april fools. But so far, this is the craziest one that even me almost forgot its his favorite day. Its seems legit because of the coordinates indicated below. KYC is the most intriguing topic here and he knows how to piss off people. Haha!. Its gone now so dont need to be worried.

Did you even gave information about what crimes you did in the past? :o

Just ready to face the FBI in real soon because as theymos mentioned all the details will be given to FBI by today itself. :P
