Title: Bitcoin & friends - a cartoon series about bitcoin some restricted content
Post by: rdbase on April 03, 2019, 12:21:44 AM
I watched the first episode and have to say I found it kind of entertaining.
Even shows metalik at one point in his basement searching about nakomoto. But is he the real satoshi. :D

The comments about the episode are a bit more favorable then from the trailer a week ago.

Here is the trailer of this web series I just stumbled on but it makes it look pathetic according from the comments on the trailer.

As a fan of a lot of animated rated-R comedy series like Family guy, The Simpsons, American dad, etc, I really didn't find this entertaining at all. Remove BTC as the main character and replace it with as a typical human character, then this would probably get little to no publicity. Just my opinion.

Would probably watch it just due to curiosity though.

I'm 4 minutes in and I'm hooked. I like it already, I'm going to keep watching.

Thank you for introducing this to me. I love the style, it's unique and different from anything else I've watched, this has big cultural potential, unlike a lot of the dry-soulless promotional crap a lot of people put out.

I hope they put it out in places like LBRY and torrents where it can't be censored. Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself, I'll get back to watching.

I've also been watching their videos on youtube and its entertaining. I'm looking at how they are going to create and unfold the story even further.

That is true but Bitcoin is exactly what attracts people to such series. They maybe don't have high quality but there is so little content about Bitcoin that people makes to watch anything related to that theme because of curiosity. Some even find that entertaining and useful.

There is an older topic discussing exactly the same video, I think you should do search first before sharing it as it will be just the same as the old topic as you can read here Can New Animated Series 'Bitcoin and Friends' Make Bitcoin Fun Again? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5126338.0) So it is better to lock this thread and keep one topic only to discuss the same topic.

Watched the trailer and the first episode and this is pretty good in my opinion. The black guy(Peter Pablo as Jones) is the best part of this show. Loved his dialogues. The ending music was pretty sick too.

I do hope that they return with many more episodes because this has some serious potential.

The cartoon looks good. The picture reminds me of Mr. Pickles or the other similar hardcore cartoons but with less entertaining content.
That was as much interesting as could be some other random movie about any other currency - not interesting at all. In some movies BTC  might be shown somewhere on the backstage but it won't be interesting to show people a movie about a currency.

I saw this series and I objected to some of the shots that were shown:

 - There is some content not suitable for children.
 - The design is not attractive and the backgrounds are a bit old.
 - The idea is unclear and needs some reflection to understand.
 - I did not follow the whole chain but it seems there will be some incorrect concepts.

It is different from 2013 there is a lot of awareness and knowledge of cryptocurrencies, these soft steps start a big leap.

Thanks for the trailer link bro! Was planning on watching an episode later but i was able to check out the trailer 😁. Kind of like an old schiil cartoon with adult humor but i think it'll work. To those who are all too negative about it but hasn't watched an episode, let's watch episode 1  and then decide from there.

Did watch too out of curiosity and i do have the same impressions that this isnt really entertaining at all and not child friendly but well crypto doesnt need to be learned by young minds but on
the sense that we are watching cartoon then typically it should really be that versatility to consider on all possible audience not only targeting adult ones.

That's the one I'm complaining in other thread related to this shared video. The idea is basically good to introduce bitcoin in different way but it should be more friendly and should avoid something which is annoying to some people. It may makes people thinks negative about bitcoin instead of makes people attracted to jump in bitcoin as I believe the main target of the video is beginner or people who do not even know about bitcoin before.

For my view, I think getting bitcoin down to canton series will mean kids too will be getting interest on this. Kids like to ask questions and share their experience and that means parents that have not heard of bitcoin are likely to get this knowledge from their kids .

But I doubt this video is targeting kids. It's for the adult I mean I will rate it as 12A. You see those two losers were peeing with their open d**K and obviously the slang language.

The first time I see something like this. We should to wait pretty long to watch a cartoon about bitcoin. It remind me South Park series. Generally the cartoon is going to be interested for those who like such kind of humor.

Cartoon is not only for kids there are some adult cartoon too, that is why if you go through the cartoon premier you will see some restrictions that to point out that all the scene are not for children consumption. But seeing cryptocurrency related cartoon will broaden one understanding of the whole system.

While I have not watched any episodes yet, I did watch the trailer. IMO I liked the concept very much. While the cartoon animation is a bit outdated it adds the feel of traditional cartoon when I was young.
I was born in the 90's and as being a 90's kid I loved the cartoon shows that were in trend back in those days. The animation of this series resembles to a cartoon shows of those days.
I don't know how valuable the content of the series will be but I probably think there wouldn't be much of tech involved.
Anyway, thumbsup for atleast making something rather than nothing. This is how it all starts.

Besides that, kids are like to watch cartoon series. I think if there is a cartoon series about bitcoin or cryptocurrency, they will have interest and we can teach them while they were watching the series and who knows, they want to know more details so we can play with teaching them about bitcoin or cryptocurrency or blockchain technology. But I know that it will be difficult for them to understand so maybe we can make simple teaching which they can understand.

Somewhat agree. Bitcoin (or rather a Satoshi) would do better as a main character in a video geared towards children me thinks. I'd rather have the image of the physical coin associated with a mascot.

I have checked it and found out that it's really entertaining. I'm sure that kids would love to watch it but I think it would be too hard for kids to understand the real content of it and the real meaning of the show. We all know that kids nowadays are too curious about things, maybe it would be better to let watch it when they could really understand each content.
