Title: What's going on with Bitcoin Cash?
Post by: kingplaya4 on April 03, 2019, 10:16:41 AM
I did buy some, but I honestly don't know much about it (I know it's origins of course) and I've read it is used a bunch in Japan, but I don't think that is new news. What is causing this pump, and do you expect it will last? I feel quite comfortable holding btc and Dash, for some reason I don't feel comfortable holding much bitcoin cash except for the short term, what do you guys think?

Bitcoin had a nice spike. But even that may be either the start of a recovery or a bull trap / "Bart Simpson" graph.
BCash is a speculative altcoin. Sometimes it gets pumped for no real reason. Well, I also don't like BCash, historically, but I find it less predictable than even XRP.

Edit: and XRP is the most known speculative asset imho
Edit2: I've just read this, which may (or may not) affect Bcash price https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5127607

I'm no expert trader here, but I think a couple of things could happen- BTC could settle down around 5k, bcash gives up most of its gains, but stays higher from what it was. Btc continues to skyrocket, Bcash may continue to outperform, BTC plunges, Bcash plunges even further. The odds don't seem good. The optimistic take I supposed would be it jumps to 400 to 500 filling the gap.

I am not a fan to Bitcoin Cash, but i know it's a coin that also has the tendency to grow, but i still believe there are some other coins that are better of than it. That it pumps, does not mean it will not dump.
You should perhaps try to know the reason behind the pump. t could be as a result of the general market uptrend.

it is not used anywhere, if anybody told you otherwise they were trying to fool you into buying this shitcoin so that they could dump it on you. if you can easily take a look at its empty blocks and see it for yourself.

as for the price, currently that bitcoin is rising every altcoin is getting dumped. that is not surprising. you have to wait for the bitcoin rise to stop or slow down so that pumpers can start pumping altcoins. then you have to get lucky and they choose BCH for pump sooner.

As far as I know, there is no big reason behind it. Pump due to the increase of bitcoin. I always pay attention, bch shows a good increase in every btc increase. Looks someone supports it.

Probably the increase just were influenced by Bitcoin spike.  If you look at CMC, you can tell, almost all altcoin sync with the uptrend of Bitcoin.  It further escalate with the reply given by NeuroticFish regarding BCH (BCH/USD pairs) contract launched in Huobi.  BCH guys are known clever when it comes to marketing, probably they emphasized this event and luckily it was sync'ed by the uptrend rally of Bitcoin.

Yeah I know all that, the question is why is it outperforming? If there's no reason for it to, it could crash down like a house of cards. I feel pretty secure knowing that regardless of what happens in the world my btc will be worth at least 3k, with other coins I'm not so sure.

The other reason it's used highly in like China is because of the whole bitmain thing.

Bitcoin Cash is just another shitcoin trying to use the Bitcoin name to make itself appear superior.

I don't know the exact reason for pumping btc last two days. But I have seen some news about BITCOIN ETF. But don't sure why pumped. We are seeing also that some alt also pumped with btc. Mainly the high volume ALt coins are pumping. And hope when btc will stable for 1-3 days then most of the alt will be pumped huge with recovery. thanks

I have no explanation why BCH is increasing so much above  the market average. It  is the clear winner of the recent pump (77% increase vs. last week) and  It must be some pump activity, anybody?

BCH really has a lot of pumps and it is operating very effectively today. I think that when Bitcoin shows signs of price increase, BCH often gets 100% profit in just a few days and this makes me feel very excited when investing in this coin. Currently, the value of BCH is very high so the investment now needs to be carefully considered before buying because it is very risky at this time.

It because bitcoin cash following the bitcoin trend and I think it's not just for bitcoin cash only because the other coins is already follow too. I don't think that there is good news for bitcoin cash available on another website, but I only know that when bitcoin rise, then the other coin will rise too. Bitcoin cash still increases until now, but of course, the price is getting down for a while to adjust.

I really like bitcoin cash. Roger is a supporter of Bitcoincash, he is the CEO of Bitcoin.com, he says Bitcoin is too expensive so he thinks Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin. Bitcoin pump then the bitcoin family also follows like cash, diamond, gold etc.

The way bitcoin cash is getting pump it seems some one is intentionally doing it.  From $160 area last week it has grown to $308 as at this morning.  It is not a surprise to me because that might be the reason why others coins are pumping.  I think the cryptocurrencies market has stayed too low for a very long time and it is recover now.  Remember that before the hardfork last year bitcoin cash was above $300 and after the hardfork it went bellow $100 and many analyst said it is because of this bitcoin cash dumping that the cryptocurrency market went down in December 2018. It is good we are now seeing everything coming up again.

What is causing this pump, and do you expect it will last? I feel quite comfortable holding btc and Dash, for some reason I don't feel comfortable holding much bitcoin cash except for the short term, what do you guys think?
Roger Ver and few other old bitcoinists are always there to pump bitcoin-cash-abc (this is the right and new name of BCH as they also have another fork to have bitcoin-sv).  Now, it is being pumped and may get back to its old levels of 0.22 BTC levels too (I always check value in BTC and not in USD). You bought hence you may continue holding as there are people to back you.

I honestly don't know much about it
There is nothing big to explain about bitcoin cash, bitcoin cash is just an hard fork of bitcoin in 2017 that never agreed with the implementation of segwit in the bitcoin network and decided to fork off from the bitcoin network and also increased the block size of the blockchain because they believed that what caused an increase in the fee of bitcoin transactions in 2017 is because the transaction made on the network was so much.

If you are not comfortable then why not just sell them all?i believe that in investing here in crypto the most important thing is the trust in each coin/token we buy
And if you bought the coins couple days ago then for sure you are in profit already?better exit now because its dropping already and maybe this will continue

Don't push him mate and I'm afraid that he could have big regrets after.
He's still in doubts and never know exactly of what he'll with crypto. I'm pretty sure he's one of the noobs in here and it needs a couple of advice to waking up his mind and to decide the best for his investment. And so I suggest to this person, better to relax and tried to analyze the market carefully before deciding to sell your coins.

I think the investment is not probably good in this time with Bitcoin cash because there will be no trust came to the investment right now because the falling is is more higher than the development that's why I am holding my investment to to get the profit in the future.

there was a massive pump on bitcoin cash in the last 48 hours.
i guess the question is whether bitcoin cash worth buying or not at the moment.
and I think it is too risky for anyone to put money into bitcoin cash due the massive pump.
it's better to wait for a week or two to see how the market would react.

If there is something interesting about Bitcoin Cash then I will no doubtly invest in it. But it seems like it's just another altcoin trying to beat Bitcoin.

Indeed, seeing BCH and Dash now has an unexpected, profitable short-term investment. Indeed, a good opportunity for the coin can be owned and deserved for profit, if it is indeed good at taking opportunities.

There was a huge spike with bitcoincash for no real reason. I think it just got dumped a lot during the bear season and it's now dirt cheap. Probably bitmain dumping to stay afloat

the bear market is not only continuing for Bitcoin cash there is also it will affect everything so I think the situation is always important to make a decision if it was a good situation we will not say like this so we definitely need to wait for sometimes to see the good changes in this investment.

I think the Bitcoin cash is in the the struggling situation to get up today normal position but the future will not be like that because it was been more comfortable with the investment on Bitcoin so I think we can trust it and make holding and expect the prophet in the future it will definitely possible.

Bitcoin Cash halving will happen in 160 days from now (April 8, 2020) which is more than a month before Bitcoin halving takes place. This could be problematic from a network security point of view. BCH mining will become much less profitable compared to BTC mining because in that period of time between both halvings, BCH block reward will be half of current amount while BTC block reward will stay the same.
That is why more and more people are warning about possible network vulnerability after BCH halving, for example Dan Hedl, Director of Business Development of Kraken exchange. [source (https://u.today/bitcoin-cash-halvening-in-160-days-may-cause-51-attack-warns-kraken-bd-director)]

What do you think, will BCH price increase till April 2020 and convince miners to keep mining BCH despite halving, or there is realistic threat of 51% attack?
