Sent .25 yesterday evening around 9p.m. Saw didn't confirm this morning, so restored a backed up wallet.dat, 0.25 was in wallet, and resent. Any idea why this refuses to confirm ? Transactions should include a 0.0001 BTC mining fee to ensure timely confirmation.

It didn't ask me to send a fee, and noticed in options fee is set at 0.00000000 . Change that setting to 0.0001 BTC and you'll find that you be far less likely to have this problem of transactions not confirming. MEanwhile, it looks like the transaction finally got confirmed this past hour.
