I do not think facebook coin will replace bitcoin, infact there is technically no comparison between fb coin amd bitcoin, bitcoin is the pioneer and premium coin which as more or less become a store of value already while fb coin will be nothing but a local coin and part of fb ecosystem so im clear that there is no competition among these two as they represent completely different categories.

Well we seem to cause unnecessary fuss for ourselves with invalid comparisons

If fbcoin is launched; it will be a private coin for their blockchain

Bitcoin cannot be overtaken by any coin

Bitcoin remains no 1 blockchain currency that other tokens have to emulate

I don't think there is any coin that will replace bitcoin, bitcoin will remain what is it for long time, and people will use it, and also Facebook coin is different and is not a coin who use same technology as bitcoin does.

Even maybe have big price, i think there are no coin that can replace bitcoin. It is already proven when a coin have price more than 1 bitcoin, and people still call it altcoin. And then only need time, price keep decreased and not be stable coin anymore.

I will only respond to the topic which is also a question. I must say if Facebook should introduce its own coin, then it will surely have massive adoption, but it cannot replace bitcoin.

No it wouldn't replace Bitcoin .
Bitcoin already proves it worth and besides what would be the role of Facebook's coin?
I think it would be their payment in their social media .

Strange question..
With Bitcoin dominance over 50% in cryptomarket and market cap over 90b. $.
Facebook value is about 500b.$.  :o
No, facebook won't replace bitcoin - no way!

What is Facebook share worth in the market? Is less that $150, right? What is Amazon share worth? Over $1,400 right? Ok, now you get the picture I am trying to paint here. Facebook is over hyped. So, let's not compare whatever the Zuckerberg team comes up with to a noble and phenomenal as what Satoshi gave the world.

Is Facebook coin launched already? It's better not to compare what is not with what is. Bitcoin took a lot of hardwork and strategic planning to get to where it is today. When Facebook coin is launched, let's see how far it will go.

For now, it is impossible to replace BTC, even for facebookcoin. This is childish thinking. Coins created by every strong people cannot replace btc. In the current situation this is hard, and it will be even harder when the btc gets stronger.

Before saying this question, please read something about the reason bitcoin exists and the differences between bitcoin and any other coin.

There is nothing to worry about, bitcoin will remain the top priority of the cryptocurrency while the FB coin will only be considered an altcoin. In any case, the FB coin is very different, bitcoin is like the core of a cryptocurrency that cannot be separated because everyone who remembers the cryptocurrency then the mind will automatically focus on bitcoin. FB coins have their own advantages, and now we can't see the advantages that can outperform the greatness of bitcoin. just forget about everything about replacing bitcoin because it will be useless.

I didn't know it will take that long to explain something about FACEBOOKCOIN or FBC (what you used in your medium).

It is actually simple for me and it is written in your posts there.
It is going to be centralized or just a manupulative crypto currency.
It will be first offered to whales and big investors and specially banks. They want it to be as legal as it could be so that it will be accepted all over the world and that is already one sign that it will not work.

Why? Have you seen world peace already? No.
There will never be a good agreement with this. If one country is still on a goal to be the strongest one and want their currency to be more valuable than other then this kind of steps will  never happen.

Different coins has different platforms. So if you see that Facebook coin will replace Bitcoin, then that would mean they have the same usage. But I guess it is impossible to happen because Bitcoin has already established in the market and many businesses has adapted to it's technology.

They haven't released anything about their intention to go on board the cryptocurrency, yours is just pure speculation, and assumption although i like the idea of Facebook coin airdropping 10-20% to their billions of users, but they first educate their users about cryptocurrency first.

Yeah, even if there’s more big investors on Facebook coin it will still possible to beat bitcoin. Have you consider to surpass first the top 5 coins on cmc? Well, it will be hard for a new coin for sure. I just can’t understand what would be the public usage of facebook coin? Whatever it is, bitcoin will still remain unstoppable that will not change.

This is not in any way possible, no comparison between Facebook coin and Bitcoin, and come to think of it, can Bitcoin ever be replaced by any altcoin?? I don't see that happening 20yrs to come.

How can you ever predict this, Bitcoin is the mother of all other coin and i think that still stand till eternity. Bitcoin can never be replaced by any other project, Bitcoin has already gained ground than been replaced.

Nothing will replace Bitcoin.

Facebook had coin years ago but people did not like it. I dont believe this time it will be anything different.  You should google about it.

A Facebook coin will never replace bitcoins, but it will be a great coin to get new people to open their eyes for bitcoins. Even if facebook print 100 billion stable coins with the value of $1 each and then become number one on coinmarketcap, it will not replace bitcoins.
Bitcoins will still be the king, and with limited supply, more and more people will try to get a whole bitcoin in the future.

Not! I will never believe in all newcomers with good popularity even though Bitcoin is still the king of all coins because the journey is done very far and can be said to be more expert than everything while all the improvements that occur can affect all altcoins, don't expect Facebook to be better of anything, don't compete with Bitcoin first, let's look at Eth's class competition, this can be a difficult competition.

I think it will be very difficult for altcoin to be able to replace the position of bitcoin. even though the Facebook name has a good popularity, when Facebook coins appear, it is likely that coins will emerge from other social media (I hear Whatsapp will also launch coins). I think there will be competition between social media coins before they can rise to near the bitcoin position.

If facebook launch their own coin and traded in market, i think it will be good. Facebook is largest social media in the world with billions members and if facebook launch their coin, it could have biggest market cap value

anything possible on crypto, but if some coin want to surpass bitcoin, maybe it will need around 10 year to do that, and that coin must be very great to gain demand and taking over bitcoin place.

It's something to be wait and see, knowing how big FB was and how many people used it for everyday life, if this coin will be materialize and implemented well, it can create big impact to entire crypto industry, we just can assume right away whether it can replaced btc from it's position but gaining successful journey will surely happen.

It is too early to say, as Facebook Coin is still not in the market, but it would be very difficult for any new coin to replace bitcoin. As bitcoin is the king of crypto and has been around for a long time.

Facebook coin has not been widely known, and I think this is a difficult thing to be able to replace Bitcoin, as the king of crypto bitcoin until now remains the top one no one can replace it, even the old coin, while facebook coin is still new and its development hasn't striking, while bitcoin is widely known and promising investment for the future

it seems impossible, even to replace the ethereum position it will be very difficult for facebook coin. it takes quite a long time to replace bitcoin and it is almost impossible to replace it.

indeed bitcoin is too volatile, but that is what makes bitcoin more attractive to many people and has become famous today. So, i think Facebook coins will not be able to replace the position of Bitcoin now or even in the future.
