Title: Are You Done Buying Cryptocoins? I AM.
Post by: Khaos77 on April 11, 2019, 03:44:00 PM
Let's face facts, many of us have been in Crypto for years now.

Aside from the very few instances where you need to send crytocoins and transact immediately.

How many of you are just done buying crypto as an investment?

I mean you purchased enough of multiple coins, that if any hit your intended price target for them in 5 to 10 years,
you be richer than you ever dreamed.

So are you

1. Done buying crypto and just waiting for your ship to come in.
2. Buying forever with no intent to ever sell.
3. Still not purchased enough coins for your ship to come in.
4. Crypto Day Trader buy and sell everyday for small gains
added
5. Buying when extra money around, spending coins when finding stuff to buy via BTC and getting a better price, having a stash that I won't sell till I really feel the need to get out and one that I might sell earlier to cover some big buy (change of house, new car, etc etc).
6. Long Trader: Continuously buying while the prices are calm and just waiting to sell high.

I am in the 1 category, literally no reason to buy any more, don't even care about new cryptos.
If it reaches my price target , I'll be rich, if not, I won't be spending any more money on it.
So Which are You?

I have to say that right now I don't have money to buy crypto, so I just hold my btc and altcoins and waiting for the price increase.
I also trying to collect more btc through signature campaigns.

Oh, and btw, we are talking about cryptocoins , not crypocoins :D I assume those are only for medical bills.  ;D
You realize that there are people buying and using BTC, right? Without usage..there would be no point in holding either,

I'm on the fourth category but I dont do it everyday, I do buy whenever I have some extra money and I do sell whenever the price is higher so I can make some profit.
Maybe you need to add one category 5. Keep on buying for long term holding till the price make us a millionaire :)

I buy in parts. Over the course of a year, I basically acquired altcoins. I tried to choose promising coins, but I also took coins from the top 10 cryptocurrencies. For example, I bought EOS, ADA, Stellar, BNB. When small savings appeared, which I could spend on various useless things, I tried to buy various tokens of promising projects. I always bought in small parts. Since the bottom of the market was hard to predict, I often bought tokens 2-3 times at different prices. This tactic still seems rather pragmatic to me and I try to stick with it. But lately I decided to diversify my portfolio more and buy more bitcoins.

Don't you think that point no. 2 is unrealistic? Why would anyone buy any crypto or any other investment asset with no intention to sell? This may happen only if a person had earned enough for the rest of his life and now saving up for his next generation!

I personally belong to category no. 3 and 4, but partially! I neither buy heavy amount of cryptos nor I trade regularly make small profits. I am just building up my crypto corpus fron various activities and the time for sale is way too far for me!

I'm perhaps included in an option that you haven't listed: continuously buying while the prices are calm and just waiting when the moment is opportune. This has worked for me in the wee months of 2014-2016 right before the bull run and I have been doing it again ever since the decline to $6000 down to $3000. Right now, I'm just playing the waiting game, adding something on the books just in case and hopefully get some more profits on the way.

Is too early to wish to stop buying cryptocurrency coin. Cryptocurrency still has so much to offer in the future and great coin would come in along the way.
This is more like a revolution that would engulf the world in the nearest future

what i'm not done though it the waiting. i'm not done waiting for the next bullrun. buying is always an option to do every day, i may decide to buy new coin or add more to the stash i have been holding. i think this is usual the case for some of us here and wants to sell for small gains or high. it all depends to how bulls are doing.

i've been using bitcoin since late 2012 and i feel like i've accumulated enough at this point. i've got coins tucked away to sell in the next bubble and the one after that. i'm a trader so now that i've got my nest egg, i'm mostly intent on extracting fiat out of the ecosystem now so i can make a living. :)

Why would anyone buy any crypto or any other investment asset with no intention to sell?

Your never done with crypto ; )  It depends, the older more established/older coins i tend to buy on major dips. The new comers or low ranked ones are more risky and comes/gos more frequent.
A mix of 5 and 6 i would say.

2nd point is silly. Who in their right mind would want to purchase and never think of selling? That is completely silly and you need to get rid of this point op.

Coming to your question, I would say that I am a long trader and I tend to stay patient for a long period of time before selling unless there is an emergency.

I don't see any valid reason behind your quit from crypto. But I still believe in crypto and still now I am holding btc for making big profits.Because I believe bitcoin still can change my life for good and I'll work hard to achieve that.I'll suggest you to keep holding and I can assure you that bitcoin wont disappoint you.Good luck

I'll just keep buying and buying whenever I get the chance, keep growing both my hodl stash, which is the stash that I won't sell until I reach my exit-point, and the other smaller stash which I use mostly to buy stuff online (fortunately, more and more merchants are accepting btc which is great), to trade some altcoins, but also to convert to fiat whenever I feel like spending some money outside.

5. Buying when extra money around, spending coins when finding stuff to buy via BTC and getting a better price, having a stash that I won't sell till I really feel the need to get out and one that I might sell earlier to cover some big buy (change of house, new car, etc etc).

I'm done for now but will never stop buying when the right time comes again. (2.) Having no intent to sell means that you don't have any plans of taking profit and enjoying the money you invested.

(3.) There's many reason why an individual haven't purchased enough coins for his stash, it could be a monetary challenge or he's in bad situation for the moment.

I'm on no. 4. Crypto Day tader buy and sell everyday for small gains. I have invested some money to buy a certain coin mostly Bitcoin and top alts and then I do just trade em to make my balance grown and
then I do save 50% of profits for long term holds and the rest still do trade for more compounding. Rinse and Repeat.

Well, I maintain different strategies in regards to crypto investments and money management, so I'm on number 3,4,6

And actually, number 3+6 combined will never get a stop from me I think, if I get good opportunities in future I will always get in.

To be honest buying cryptocurrency is only for the people who are constantly trading them and they are fimilar with the market and know when to buy and when to sell, and they make profit from that, for normal people most of us are just either working and earning bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies from various ways and just holding it either until we need it or until it becomes a widely accepted payment method.

I'm not done buying cryptos, I still want to buy more bitcoins, however, I haven't been buying any bitcoins for a long time. Instead, I try to trade so I can get more cryptos, but if the price goes low enough, and I have enough fiat ready in my bank account I will buy some more bitcoins.

But if I have some extra money to invest why not I mean it is a good investment after all instead of spending my money wasting it why not put it into a good use?

Having no intent to sell does not mean that you don't want to take any profit from it. Not everyone invests on crypto currencies to make profit. Some invests on it to use it for different purpose like making online transactions. Again, selling for fiat does not always define your profit. If you buy the coins for cheap and you are still holding it even after the price has increase, then it still means that you have made profit even if you don't sell it for fiat since you were able to get the coins cheap!

before you buy, can you ensure that the crypto you have bought can give you high profits? I hope you don't get stuck in a low value graph. You have to make an analysis in every market, so. you will survive the loss. Do you buy coins at ICO or on IEO? or you buy some coins that are already registered on the exchange?

I think, in unclear market conditions like today, you must have a top coin. I doubt with some of the new coins listed on the exchange.

I only have BTC and ETH assets, I use for short-term trading capital and some for long-term investment. I want to see BTC Bullish and get profit from my investment in the future.

I chose this method because all three can be run casually and not complicated than trading. Before we do these three things, it's better to get used to reading and analyzing not just reading the writing, but there are other essences in doing this activity.

don't even care about new cryptos.

I don't like the presence of new coins in the market because in every presence they are often accompanied by the collapse of the crypto prices that we've had and this hasn't only happened once especially crypto coins that have long been circulating in the market for example bitcoin.

I'm this person. I treat it like the money a believer in the monetary system keeps in his savings account and a non believer keeps in a safe or a deposit box.
I keep my savings in cryptocurrencies and won't sell until I really need to or it they reach some very high value e.g. bitcoin at 100 thousand dollars.

For now it's so difficult to gain daily profit while the market doesn't have good pumping trends few months ago. Many of us expected more growth on their assets but unfortunately, it's very frustrating after many of the traders who can't wait tend to sell early. That's why volatile market seemed to act negatively, and I think it kepts us from reaching the higher price so market remain stable at $5k. Buying more crypto coins in order to have more holdings can be a wise choice while more cheaper coins is available.

I am not much of a trader but an investor, apart from me earning Crypto coins and tokens through bounty campaigns I invest some in altcoins after converting my token to bitcoin or ethereum or still I leave my funds in bitcoin. I am not the greedy type because whenever I see a x2 of my investments I sell it off and move to another potential project. Everything is all about professionalism and tactics.

I do not know where I fit into your options, but what I do is the following: I always buy the price drops and I will continue repeating this cycle for a long time until the day I have many bitcoins. I also do daytrade whenever possible, before I had some altcoins I sold as soon as they had increased in price and I confess that I made a good decision

I am in the 1 category, literally no reason to buy any more, don't even care about new cryptos.

Buy low and sell high, that is what I am doing recently because there are various profitable altcoins that we probably get profit if we are in the right timing and decision to sell. I am in favor of having a small gain but it is continuously increasing day by day. I didn't expect to become a millionaire, for me, as long as I know my profit was there in crypto, I'll be happier if Bitcoin will increase and of course avoid fomo.

See dude,  if you make yourselves dedicated to cryptos then you need to make yourself discipline in order to seek the facrs of the coins.
I really can understand your feelings. But if you see the things depthly, then you can understand the things truly.
No one who invests in crypto is always ready to make wins,  they may sometimes face losses also if their fortune is bad.
And as far as your question is concerned. There is no perfect time for me to stop buying cryptos as i have a great confidence on myself and i am sure that I will not make any big losses.

Well, for me, I still do buy at times. However, since the rate of its gain is not as aggressive as before, I tend to be more and more critical and sensitive with the coins I buy, so that, I wouldn't regret it in the end. I can't afford to buy something and hold it for a long time without any clear objective on how to use it to gain profit or, at least, use it as capital to get other and better coins in the market. I also look at the price point and movement of the coins I buy, if it has promising gains that could lead to gainful ones in a couple of months, I tend to go for that to make a quick flip.

Everytime there is a good opportunity to buy, I will have to take that opportunity, I am holding a huge portfolio now, and just like

(3.) There's many reason why an individual haven't purchased enough coins for his stash, it could be a monetary challenge or he's in bad situation for the moment.
If you have read what OP given as an example, 'buying forever without intent to sell'. Yes, although you don't sell and you just hold, there's the profit but you can't define that you made money out of it if you don't cash out / sell.

Holding the cash defines that we made money of it, and if the value of the crypto that you hold has increased its value and we define it as our profit, nothing wrong with that. But for me, as long as you haven't sold it, you can't call it as profit.

I doubt I will ever be done with it, I feel like this is the best type of investment I can make as a small time investor, I do not have much money and putting them on stocks or bank interest or anything that we used to have doesn't make any sense at all.

Even with a hugely positive 20% return a year I wouldn't become rich at all, there is no way my money can worthy anything even with 50% a year, that is only viable for people who already have a decent chunk, I have couple hundred that I can put in every 2-3 months and that's it.

Buying cryptocurrencies allow me to get insane returns time to time, I make good chunk of money to dilute between other cryptocurrencies and than they make it more and it goes on like that forever which after a while I do not even have to put more money from my pocket, just keep making money and put it on other stuff. Invest from your investment profits basically.

I think am in the 3rd category, I have a lot of coins and tokens I still need to invest in, but not enough money on me, I buy them little by little while I get the money either monthly or weekly, I also do some day trading and sometimes, If luckily I get a good profit, I invest it in a promising project, maybe I continue like this until my ship comes, then I plan or setting up my own company

Still the same.

Buying if it is worth the risk.
Trading whenever I got the chance to do it with my busy job.

I dont think there should be a stop with these. We are still waiting for the future where crypto currencies will be used as a means of payment. So better to get ready and hoard more that just do nothing and wait.
It also keeps you on track with updates regarding all the news with crypto currencies.

Hell no, i am not done buying, cryptocurrency projects usually should be for a long-term investment not the way we see it as short term and just because we dont get pr profit within a year, we give up, i am not done, i will still continue investing in good projects till it answers me.

You have some valid points. Until 6 months back, I had a at least three dozen different altcoins and tokens in my wallets. But now that number is down to around 10. I have converted the rest to BTC or ETH. My patience has run out with the alts. I think it is time to solely concentrate on Bitcoin (+ ETH).

Good choice to get rid of those useless altcoins and choose the top crypto in coinmarketcap. I am still holding my altcoins until now so that if the bull run starts and the price of Bitcoin go up to the sky, then it's time to sell everything while waiting for another price correction to buy back again.

Thank God for the intervention of bitcoin, if we are to leave investors alone with these altcoins, crypto world might have long gone been forgotten for now, that is why I mostly laugh with people that compares BTC to other coins, to the extent of thinking any coin will replace BTC, it is impossible, if not for BTC, many of them would not even be alive by now.

So, BTC is a coin that is the best for one to keep his long-term investment in, while other are just good for a very short term purpose as the chance of their survival more than 2 years is rare except those that are utility coins and are with very good team.

Yes, buying cryptocoins for longterm investment but for potential coins only. We can only see the growth of  coins after few years. Theres some coins that good for short term trades. And theres coins also that has potential for longterm holding. I know some of my friends who holding for 3 years and now they are millionaires. It's a matter of patience.

I also trust that Bitcoin Won't disappoint us if we hold bitcoin for nex few years.I'm holding bitcoin from past two years and I will hold it untill I get enough profits.

In order to prepare for the unforeseen circumstances, you are right, there is no point stopping investment, since the crypto is designed for the future and we have to wait for whatever project we invested in to become big in future, since there is no project, no matter how strong they look now is guaranteed not to face a rough road, we don’t know any of the one we have that will stand the rough road or the ones that will collapse.

So, this is why we should not stop investing the little we are capable of investing, so that the ratio of failed projects and successful projects will be 50:50. We all need to be a smart investor.

I have also accumulated a certain amount of cryptos that, in case of recovering some of the maximum historical prices that were reached in 2017, could make me earn enough money to retire, however I am not satisfied with it, I do not resign myself to passively wait for a stroke of luck to resolve my destiny, and that is why I continue doing daily trading (both in crypto and in Forex) to cover my ordinary financial needs.

I am still in the mood of buying and investing, I still think that crypto is a good investment, for long term I already decrease the buying amount but for short term I still search for the right coin to be traded, when you find the right momentum then don't be stand still and watch the opportunities go away
Staying on one coin or long term holding will cause you to miss the other opportunities. Try to evaluate the right chance at the right time.
Also, the right coin is not too far away. Just you are not looking at the right place.

You'll miss opportunities for short term goals of course. But if you're looking for after adoption value, hodling a long time is a good option. I usually buy im small waves during times like these when the market is sideway moving.

2. Buying forever with no intent to ever sell.
What's the point then? There is no cycle at all if you are only going to buy. How can you make profits if you hold only? Hmm, if what you meant is having a long term investment then it will be clearer for the others :D.
3. Still not purchased enough coins for your ship to come in.
I'm in this stage. Lucky for me that btc is not yet finished recovering, it can be considered good somehow because I still have some ample time to save coins. I'm aiming to save at least .01 btc for me to have a fund for my upcoming board exan (hopefully).
Staying on one coin or long term holding will cause you to miss the other opportunities.
I agree to you on the latter part, I admit that time and chances of earning are wasted if you hodl for a long time. But saying that staying in one coin tend to lose opportunities? Nah, I disagree. Like in my case, I only stick to btc (or eth sometimes) and yet I haven't experience bad situations so far. I never regret doing such thing because I am pretty sure that my future is safe with btc.

Small but with different chunks.

Bitcoin and altcoins compose this crypto market and they are both successful together.
Not only choosing one, but choosing most coins will help you to diversify and will reward you for holding.
One good example is buying at ICO price, or below because there's lots of coins now that are cheap in price and even almost worthless.

Yes, my cryptocoins have been purchased. Now I'm waiting for the sale. I have bought all that I needed to buy and left it. Now just waiting for the price of Cryptocoin to rise. As soon as these prices rise, I will sell them immediately. Because I need to get a very quick profit. So I will not wait for more days. If I get a little price increase then sell it. Because at any time the price of all Cryptocoin can decrease in the market.

Thank you

For a long term investment, I must confess to you that Bitcoin will still be the best bet and not all these altcoins we are investing in and giving ourselves hope that they will become very high in future when many of them, eventually dies off before out dream comes through, no matter how hard they try to be like BTC, they can never achieve half of what BTC has achieved.

Most of these altcoins are good for short term trade, imaging that all the funds you have in other altcoins are being invested in 1 coin which is bitcoin, and many other do same, what do you think your dream will be by now, it would have come through, but because of the diversifying we believe in, it’s making it look like our dream of becoming rich won’t come through, but I can assure you that it will come true sooner or later.

That is what im doing right now. Buying crypto coins to recover the losses I'm getting right now. When I get some cryptocoins that I've feel that will increase very much when the bull market comes that's the time I will recover the heavy loss that i get.
Yes after buying crypto coins you can exchange it into a higher amount when the bull market happen. Gambling your coins is the one you need to do instead of hodling your coins and doing nothing. To avoid losses you must do  crypto exchange (https://darbfinance.com/?=crowd) so that you can gain profit although it was very low. It's good than nothing right?

As you are done buy your crypto currency can you please let us have an idea of the particular crypto currency you are holding? This is because it may help some people who have done enough research on the coins you selected and maybe do so.
I think the category I belong is that number FOUR and  FIVE.

It's 6 and I'm continuously buying while the prices are low and calm. Taking advantage of every market situation is the wisest thing to do. Rather than panicking, we must apply the basic strategy which is to buy while your target coins are affordable and sell them when they're already profitable.

Sort-of 5.  Buying is painful, not enough money to splash.

I like to use crypto, buy stuff with BTC/other I can't with $ from other programmers as well as tip devs of interesting projects, and hodl some when I think there could be a chance of a run up on prices.  I think I hodl for different reasons too.  I collect things, including satoshis.

Although I'm not sure I see the point in cashing out sometimes.  It just means I will wait for a dip and buy again, then hope to sell high, in perpetuity. Boring.

Same here, I am not done at all investing in cryptocurrency, rather than completely quitting investing, what I do is to continue to sow a seed down, I just trade some altcoins, and when I profit from them, after all it is a free money, I use the profit I get on them to buy BTC and some of the altcoins that are still at dip.

I am sure these actions will pay me in future, I think my method will be a good one for those that can trade, I don’t remove my profit to squander or use anyhow, I still use it to buy more and this principle of compounding is better for me, some of my coins have increase far more than what I used my direct fiat to purchase.

On 5th I guess.
When there is extra amount to invest why not. What I have in mind is that I may never see EOS this low just as I may not see ETH at $5 again. If for instance I get to hold about 5000 ETH back when its price was below $5, I would probably be holding it even when it goes more than $1k each, sadly I don't. But this time I have the chance to at least collect about 1000 EOS for myself.

especially it is really a good time to buy now of those coins such as Ethereum, Tky, Ada, Waves, Xbx, Utrust,

I am just trying to increase my bitcoin. I am holding and I have a target for sell. But obviously not for short time or short trade. Once my target will achieve then I would like to sell my hold coins. Then I will move another whatever will on dip. I like to buy on dip although we don't know exactly what is the dip price. But I just try to find from previous record. So at least I can determine when should I buy.

That's a smart strategy, you'll be profitable if you can do that with the right timing.
Who would hold longer if they can make money short term, everyone should have their satisfaction on the income they earn in crypto.

Last bull run there are people who end up a bag holder, that's because they still hold instead of selling it.

I always use digital currency and that is me why use it. I always do some financial transactions like buying internet vouchers. Practicality is the main reason. besides that the value of investment that continues to increase gives me the opportunity to get attractive investments.

No one knows on the future thats why knowing on where the bottom would always be questionable on our minds and its too hard to predict yet the price can
dump out anytime and would break out our expectations that we are already on the bottom. This is why this crypto investment is really very risky if you dont know
how to utilize these price movements.

Votality is not an issue if you are accumulating now for long term.
The price already bottomed and it started to rise, so I assume you are done buying, especially bitcoin since it's the first to lead a bull run.
It's very important to stay discipline so we ca always follow the working method, which is to buy at bottom and sell at peak.

This is really me wayback when bitcoin still in 5 digits value but now?im very different since many has change.i just wanted no to hold, hold and hold untill we reach the highest that bitcoin can ever had

No not yet I would continue to buy more if I have extra money ,
Why would I stop investing in something that would give me a profit in the future?
I would always buy crypto if I can and hold them as long as I could.
Thats the better thing now because we are still at cheaper price and it will not take long to reach the top again

I still buy on a regular basis, usually at the end of the month for a fixed amount of money. I usually buy BTC and a promising altcoin, used to be stellar in 2019!
I paused that buying plan in 2018 and restarted it in February 2019, very lucky me ;)

Never stop if you can still afford to buy, the good thing with this kind of investment is that the return is faster and the profit is high.
It's quite risky as an investment but who would not take this high risk if the reward is good.
If I have enough money to still accumulate, I would do the same, but I stopped now, waiting for my small portfolio to again grow.

Stopping is okay especially if the price of your chosen coin is quite a bit high . a real investor/trader is a wise guy  . they will wait for the lowest possible value of an asset that they want to invest with or without big capital involve . but if you are kind of guy that is impatient , buying at all times can still be a good idea as long as you can afford the coin that you want to buy because cryptocurrency are always known to increase more the longer they exist . that is because the demand or the adoption is also growing

Most of these coins have already bottomed and I think this will be the best time to invest more if we are still interested in adding more to our portfolio. What most short term traders does is to enter the market at any lower price they are opportune to see, and that is why it seems as though they make enough profit more than a long term investor.

I personally don’t stop invest, I keep upgrading my portfolio at every opportunity I get to, I invested when price became $5000 and now taken the little profit on the increase, while I await another good point to enter the market again.

Good choice even have some tokens and altcoins in my multiple cryptocurrency wallets. Lets believe all those coins will be bumped back and grow the expected price in the marketplace. I always have the majority of my funds in the form of bitcoin and ethereum.
So never care about the altcoins which i own also. It will be considered as partial income only.

So Which are You?
thinking about the future will always giving the less confident only because the market is like that I don't have the hundred percent trust about my investment for my future generation it will be difficult to say I am done with my investment.

Same as you I like to buy some bitcoin with my spare amount because now a day price is not very high we can get profit easily but later on after few years I am sure price will be very high, never mind and keep buying even if the price is low, very soon in market there will be good news for all of us, so have patience and keep buying chance is still there for you.

I was done doing day trading. It was very risky and only gain small profits  With the recent pump and now dump I am decided to do a long term trading now. What I am doing  right now is buying more coins and wait for the pump again.
I am not yet done with shopping Bitcoin because I am planning to shop more and more when the market is down again. For the time being, I am done with it and am holding my coins for big profits.

Trading is I think very difficult because it does not always make you money. You need to be very precise at trading which is a rare trait. So yeah, your decision to do the long term trading is good. It is rather a long term investment.

This is me. I'm buying forever and never sell until I get big profits. Since I'm not really good in trading, I just want to hodl my coins and then wait for it to go for a bigger profit. Since, 2017 I bought bitcoin I'm still hodling it. I was not that active in crypto with the certain rise that's why I got left out but no worries.

I always use digital currency and that is me why use it. I always do some financial transactions like buying internet vouchers. Practicality is the main reason. besides that the value of investment that continues to increase gives me the opportunity to get attractive investments.
That is nice. You are making use of the major benefits that crypto can give. People tend to just speculate in cryptocurrency and still make use of banks and other third party institutions to make transactions. This is the reason why is it so important to keep on investing in crypto currency because it is something you badly need in a world of technology. In addition, like you said, it grows with the passage of time unlike the rest of the assets you hold.

Just look at the long term. If we are going to look at the past history of bitcoin we could be in the 2015-2016 which is the period of accumulation so it's a good thing. So we should still go and buy more coins at this time and just wait like 2-3 years before we can realised our gain. Might be tough to hold but patience will be the key here to make a lot of money in the future.

Agree with your opinion, personally i would rather buy altcoin for keep as i have done that sometime in 2018; which i have already sell some of my portfolio and keeping other for future purpose, as they seem not to yield high profits as deserve. I buy with the intention to keep them for a long-term and not short-term purpose. Am not done buying crypto because am still buying.

You must be rich, therefore you can hold the coins which you buy. Many people enter in crypto currency market to make quick profit and if they face a loss they do not have the patience to hold the coins. Sometimes an urgent need of money force them to sell. So the only option left for them is to sell those coins in a loss.

Lol the man mentioned that he was left behind ahen the hype happened sl he did not have sell all his bitcoin in almost $20,000 value but he can still afford to wait

I am lucky to say that i did sold my bitcoin in December of 2017 and buy back in the mid of 2018 and in February of 2019 when the price goes to the deepest value of $3,000+

Now what i am waiting is another exit since i am in need of money for my dream house to be done, hoping the end of this year may bring blessings and good vibes

Back in 2010 and 12, we have had people who invested madly in the cryptocurrency but back then the price per coin was low as well. Today, it is high so i think that if you have invested a lot in the crypto, that should be enough and that you should wait for the time being to get the benefits out of it. This is important to diversify and not put all your eggs in the same basket. There should be a limit to your investment in crypto and you should rather build business around it.

I know for certain that it will surely come, no doubt about that, but I think it may still be till next year before it can happen, why not still use that opportunity to go into trading, within that period, you can still make more money while at the same time waiting for your ship to come in and bail your funds out.

I am still holding few coins and still buying when I have few fund or I have earned. To be honest I am not exactly want hold it long time especially for Altcoins.
Moving to bitcoin is good idea. Even altcoin can help you as well but definitely the percentage of profits are very low in altcoin. Despite this fact, altcoin are still impressive as they fall very cheap to pocket. You can buy them easily and can hold. A time will shortly come when they will yield handsome profits. Till then, bitcoin is classic. Right now it’s just moving up so better to keep in touch with it.

Considering the risks will help you to be more durable. You should try to learn. Fear (panic) is the main cause for losing in trading. I do not mean to force you to do that, but try it out with demo accounts. Crypto trade is not very difficult as long as you know the rules.

You can try real trade with real money, start small when you are new.
It's good to trade if with real money as compared to demo trading you are not using your emotion while in real trade, you will how to manage your emotion. Trading is good if you have the patience and you are knowledgeable as both are necessary to increase your chance of success.

The only reason that made me start to use cryptocurrency was because I was working with someone and he was fond of sending payments in BTC, so I had to start making use of it. That was before I started making use of BTC, then I decided to be investing in it too, but this time around I no longer invest, I think I have enough already.

Actually, I’m tired of buying any coin again. And to be sincere the only thing I have is Bitcoin. I no longer show interest in other coins, no matter what people has to say about them. I’m just really tired of all that. This time around I just come to the forum and when I’m not reading posts in the forum, I’m checking through my wallets and going through sites to read news and all that.

Bro, with the way the market is now, I think you have not made any wrong decision in holding bitcoin alone. Other coins I am holding, I am lucky to have gotten them through campaigns, and I would not say I am lucky yet till I see any growth in the value of the coins, because some are not responding to movement.

Many of these coins doesn’t really have very good products and services that will make them really stand the test of time, investors are just relying on them for investment alone for now, so the only coin that has been standing test of time and will continue to do is BTC.

I think I’m done too, because I believe that I already have enough. Buying more coins is really a waste of time and money, the best thing I can do now is continue to trade with the ones I have and also hodl with the ones I want to hodl with. I bought a lot of coins as of recent and that includes that bitcoin, lite pin, NEO, EOS, ripple, eth, and a lot more of them and I have divided them – the ones I’m trading and the ones holding for profit in case bull run takes off.

I really don't think so, that's why I disagree with that.
The reason why I am buying more coins is because I don't know which coin will pump, and this is also a way to minimize the risk because we learn to diversify our investment. For me, as long as a coin has a great potential, its worth a buy.

I fall exactly at category 4, wherein I purchase bitcoins and sell them on a price higher from what I acquired them. A lot of people complain about day trading stating that it is not profitable but the accretion of small gains can be large especially if you do dozens of trades everyday.

It is still highly advisable to diversify your investments and categorize them either for short/long-term and then develop an action plan regarding it.

Not yet I'm not convenient with my Bitcoin investment because the Crypto investments are the only way available for me to save my future to the good level so I need to make it more possibly the better then only I can handle everything in my future and it is the the thing that will be considered from a long period of time and I think I need to do a lots of research more for my future.

I commend the hunger/thirst for acquiring cryptocurrencies since you have an actual goal to strive for. Unlike some, they only purchase cryptocurrencies due to the bandwagon in the media.

I still buy on a regular basis, usually at the end of the month for a fixed amount of money. I usually buy BTC and a promising altcoin, used to be stellar in 2019!
I paused that buying plan in 2018 and restarted it in February 2019, very lucky me ;)
That is nice. You use your savings to speculate in Bitcoin and altcoin and that is a nice strategy. You would be investing regardless of the market vibes and the bull or bear which is something that will benefit you immensely in future.

I do buy only at the end of downfall markets. I do use intensive technical analysis to catch all down markets to buy something. I am a broker of few of my friends and I do buy with their money too.
Actually when you hodl through the bullish market, your value rises and bullish market ends up imparting the maximum value possible to your coins. This looks great profit as you are not missing out.

Lol, buying a lot of coins is truly a waste of time when you already know that Bitcoin and the top ten coins are the main thing here and others sure are likely to be a waste of time. Whenever Bitcoin is falling the market will as well be falling and when Bitcoin starts to increase the market goes up with it. The only thing is that when they fall to the bottom, those small coins starts to do some up and down and you can trade them then and make a little profit daily.

Investing into cryptos blindly will never help anyone as investing into more coins definitely cannot be done after enough due diligence. Instead of going in mass, it would be much better to stay calm with bitcoins itself.

Lol that' has been my thought lately, why still buy cryptocurrencies while I still have many of them in my wallets ?

I'm tired of buying, I just gotta relax and trade and save with the ones I have instead of buying more, unless maybe the price happens to drop, but before the price drops I'm going to withdraw the ones I have already to collect the profit I have made so far and then watch where it's going to bottom and I will buy from there again and also start to hold and trade.

Am also standing on that mate, Last year i had to buy some coins CCL which was a good investment to me then but unfortunately i never knew that the coin was hype for more investors to trooped in, after some weeks the said coin depreciated till now, so, nothing was left for me than to hold for a long term. But there where some i bought and sold out immediately with profits. Am still buying cryptocurrency coins.

You had to get into cryptocurrency because there was no way you could see people making big money in crypto and you being out of the market. There are so many people who join crypto market due to FOMO and this is the sole motivation for someone to be part of crypto market.

Keeping in mind the potential of the cryptocurrency, I am willing to speculate in Bitcoin as long as the price is set for me.

Bitcoin is given the most stable and the most potential coin in crypto, but I like to try my luck hoping I can make fortune on coins that has not grow x10 or x100 yet. Buying a lot of coins as long as you are doing it blindly gives you a chance to have a profit, what if the coin you bought will have the same faith like bitcoin, xrp, or even BNB, imagine how much profit you will make on that.

Last year was indeed a learning year for majority of us in cryptocurrency trading and investment, but it was really worth it because a lot of us have gathered enough experience that we are now applying to our present trade and decision.

my target now is to correct the last mistake made by me last year, so I am not done buying crypto, aside the ones I have already kept in my portfolio, I am still waiting for dipper prices to buy, main reason why I am not so much bothered now about price going down, even if I had bought some at a higher prices, I know that those coins will still have a balanced price.

My believed on this industry when investing in coins or tokens is: don't hold coins or tokens for a longer time becasue by so doing, such investor or buyer may be going into lose. Especially this era of IEOs, which hype are very common with tokens be offered by theses exchanges. I bought some token from Binance and within five days time, sold out for profits than holding against risk of dump.

Most of these project we see in the market are long term investment projects and may extend to that year before you can start making profit, long term investment really require patient to really get a clear direction before pulling out, otherwise, the time we pull out may be the time that the market will pick and we will end up regretting doing so.

If you are to go into short term investment, then I will advise that you learn to trade some of the coins, with trading, you will make more than enough before that 5 years target of yours, use the life of people who pulled out before bitcoin hit ATH, let us learn from their experience.

Totally a disappointment ( Most crypto I bought are now dropped dead, turned to shit token or less than 5 dollars. This is not encouraging at all, and that's why I plan to cool it down for a while and save up instead)

I am done with crypto buying since December! Now I become a trader because I think HODL is not the solution for everyone. HODL is for the rich or for them who don't know the trade. In trade, sometimes I make a profit and then sell my profits. Sometimes I buy more token through my profits, And now I am very happy with it, the bear market can't touch me now.

In this volatile market that we have so many doubt about some markets, what assurance does the OP even has that the coins he is holding is the right one and will bring him profit in future?  I just read from this thread about a coin that has been in existence since 2015, they are still in the market, working , not a stable coin and they have still not increase in value, while some that just came out barely a year ago has already given over 100% profit to its holders.

So we just need to continue invest with that little spare money that we have, we don’t know which of the coins will yield a faster result till we have multiple of them for us to see.

It is good to spread our investment in a lot of place. In altcoin, when you spread your investment, sometime when 1 make you loss, the others can help you gain profit. That is why it is good strategy to use.

This is me, I still buy more, I know that we are still on the dip. Most of my holdings now are in BTC and planning to buy more altcoins. For every coin that I hold, I have a target before selling them so, I don't have to worry. I also buy on every dip and sometimes using my extra money to put it on crypto. But also sometimes when I need emergency funds, I use the crypto too.

It is true that all cryptocurrency prices have the potential to be very expensive and with cryptocurrency you can get a lot of profit when the price goes up, but you have to know that cryptocurrency price movements will not always go up, one day it will fall like what is happening now.

That is right, we have to invest in very good coins, right now is even when I invest heavily in some coins because I can see what the future hold for them, a lot of people keep holding on to old projects that has already been overtaken by new Ideas, they don’t know that they are making such a mistake, because most of these old tokens that are not in the top 20 might not respond to the next bull run as people are already not picking interest in them and going for the newly established good projects. So we should not rely on old projects that much and stop investing, new ones has more potential of responding to  bull run than the old ones.

Different strokes for different folks, it is entirely up to you to make the decision and choice. I think this is coming out as a result of the huge bear season we had last year that caused the price dump of btc ftpm around $20,000 to near $4000. It is expected that a lot of altcoins will follow suit where a lot even dumped more than 10x. Making the right entry and exit at any moment in time matters, but a very good entry is of importance. Right now a lot of persons are making such decisions while a few are accumulating at this time, Only time will tell who it will favor and who will feel lost out and eventually decide to fomo which is the result of this.

Crypto-currencies remain very volatile and every year you can expect major bull runs and bear rallies. If you are a good trader, then you should purchase the coins when the prices are low and sell them (partially or fully) when the prices are up. Holding your coins in cold storage for 5 or even 10 years is not going to help anyone.

This might mean that you have invested everything you had into the coins and now are waiting for the price to reach all time high price so that you can sell off and be rich. This would not be that easy. The markets are not yet stable and you can see a lot of changes happening in the markets currently.

Also a growth towards success has been seen so that we can expect the price to pump much sooner. You should be patient and also have the ability to see the price going down below your expectations. Also set a stop-loss and you might surely end up in profits. Be sure to update your stop-loss each time the price changes by $100.

We must keep active on buying cryptocurrency because the market doesn't stop from moving and if its cheaper, we have to be more aggressive on buying. Its ok to wait until it hit your target price, but don't just wait better to buy every opportunity and don't stop from doing it. This is a big cycle that will never stop, pump and dump will stay so we have to be wise and continue making money.

Well, it is not still too bad for people to hold, we have so many people that does not have the courage to trade and if they do, they might lose it all, so instead of losing their investment to what they may never be able to understand, it is better they just keep their money in the wallet and become patient till the BULL market comes even if it takes more than 5 years.

For those that can trade, I think it will be best thing to do based on your suggestion, they can always buy when the market dips, then sell when the market increases even if it is not a full blown value yet, this is how many smart investors has been making money in this market season.

It is true that all cryptocurrency prices have the potential to be very expensive and with cryptocurrency you can get a lot of profit when the price goes up, but you have to know that cryptocurrency price movements will not always go up, one day it will fall like what is happening now.
You might go through such situation if you invest into any lower volume coin. Higher volume coins would not actually go downer then what they are currently because the bear markets were already been running and now are at the end. There is high possibility of bitcoins to go up and take all altcoins along with it.

This can be proved by the current running situation where the price for bitcoins has already showed us some major growth. Long term investment into any popular coins is also a better option to have immense profits with lower chances or risk.

Investing in coins that are on the list of the top coins and HODLING them for long term is the best thing you can do to make money. You actually wait for the best time when you would be able to cash out with the maximum profits. One should not always rely on the future price to be very volatile and trying to make wise decisions at the time of investment is also needed. Look for down costs of investments.
