Title: Running Elixxir Blockchain Nodes
Post by: alexcopper on April 12, 2019, 09:13:20 PM
The Elixxir node selection process is currently ongoing through April 19th 2019. Users who will run the Elixxir BeterNet nodes will be eligible for running two nodes once the mainnnet launches later this year.

I haven't heard much about Elixxir yet but I will definitely have a look into them more. The precomputation part of their consensus seems interesting

I have known Elixxir because I ever read the information about its bounty on bountysuite. By the way, I've just read a project that its name is almost the same. I see it from the bounty thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2559790.0. Can someone tell me the connection between these projects?  ???

I have been seeing this project everywhere around the forum and I am a bit tempted to invest in the project, even if I have given up in so many new projects because most of them are out there to scam people and not to help solve a problem in the crypto space but I heard that this project is created by someone well known (David Chum) and I believe this would be a very good reason to invest in the project because of the status of the owner.

I have not tried running any nodes physically for any coins. But, running masternodes for few coins. As per the requirements of elixxir coin, I guess I must need to go for physical machine because the spec requirements for a machine is too much for getting through VPS provider. Hence, still thinking about opting this node or not. But, time is running for applying for becoming a node operator of elixxir betanet.

I am in the same boat as you. I think I might apply and see what happens from there. looks promising

This project has any connection with Elix (Elixir) token? I don't know if this project will succeed but maybe can be a good option, who know, so i can try to see if i get choosen. As i see they ask to complete a survey with name and all data, i don't like this way.

No I don't believe they are related at all. I just had a look on their website. But I also found this article which I believe you might enjoy reading: https://elixxir.io/blog/betanet-node-application-is-live

David Chaum is the inventor of digicash and we can say that he made the very first idea of crypto.

I'm also thinking of investing to this project.
