Title: How can I earn Bitcoins in a crippled country?
Post by: ronin98 on April 14, 2019, 04:56:53 PM
Hello everyone
Sadly I 'live' in a terrible country in the ME in which everything is sanctioned and LOTS of websites are banned and blocked from the inside. Bitcoin trading is banned too and the economy is crippled. There are no reasonable and acceptable jobs and I live like an outcast because the environment is toxic too. I'm still young and I have lots of dreams and hopes, so I want to make some money using cryptocurrencies behind my computer, but I don't know how I can make money. I hardly can buy one bitcoin but I have no idea what to do next.
Would you please help and advise?

If cryptocurrency trading and exchanges aren't allowed in your country I advise you not to do anything about it because legally there will be no loopholes for you to do it. If they find out that you have a strange activity in your computer related to crypto trading then I'm afraid that the authorities won't take anytime just to arrest you. I'm surprised that Bitcointalk is even allowed in your country if what you are talking about them banning crypto related websites is real. It's either you follow the law or use a paid VPN to bypass their restrictions, you should keep in mind that using VPNs won't guarantee that you aren't untraceable on their part.

Remember that if bitcoin banned in your country means then holding it or accepting it also illegal so you may face legal issues and severe punishment if you get caught, but you can do something for now which is doing bounties which will help you to earn tokens and bitcoins if you can able to find a spot on btc signature campaign and hold it until it made as legal again.

OK I may have phrased it wrong. It's not illegal to have bitcoins at all and they don't care about it. What I meant was that Bitcoin is not recognized as a payment option. I don't have any concerns regarding the things you said and it's not illegal to trade and exchange BTC.

So which skills do you have (or which skills can you obtain in a reasonable amount of time)? There are various marketplaces for pretty much any service that can be delivered online.

If you deem it important to be paid in bitcoin rather than in fiat currency, that will probably narrow down your opportunities somewhat, as not all potential customers and brokers will be familiar with cryptocurrency.

What is ME? Montenegro? If you are in a country in which bitcoin is banned. I advise you not to get bitcoins since you cannot escape the law in your country. But, you can really have bitcoins if you are in a country that accepts bitcoin. An immigration could solve the problem.

Knowledge is a very important asset. Without some knowledge about bitcoin, cryptocurrencies or trading, You won't be able to make out the best from your earnings.
So i recommend you stick around the forum, read more and learn.
You can also learn from different experiences of people in the forum

One way of earning from scratch is through Airdrops and bounties( but they are now worth your time right now) and maybe bitcoin paying signature campaigns but you may need to rank up to a better membership level first which can take time but it's possible if you are willing to contribute to the community and learn more.

As for the Law, don't worry about it... They will eventually accept it. It just a matter of time. Just gather your bitcoins, you can use different exchanges to trade it off for USD then to your local fiat.

What is ME? Montenegro?
I think he meant Middle East.

If it is banned as per law then either you should leave crypto or the country. If you want to chase dreams change country if not then back off from crypto but dont go against law
I want to earn money enough to leave the country.

OP, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Maybe you can tell us what skills do you have? Do you know some coding languages, maybe you can create websites or design for. It's examples of decent paying jobs online. If you have some skills, you can offer your services here or on some freelancing websites. Without good skills it's difficult to earn decent money. And if there are lot of websites blocked in your country, I suggest to get VPN to bypass censore.
And a bit radical question - if you don't see any opportunities in your country because situation is shitty in your country, have you thought about moving to another country?

I think that ME means Middle East. And please re-read post of OP above - Bitcoin isn't actualy banned in his country, it's not recognized and accepted as a currency.

Sorry about you situations but to be very straight with you if cryptocurrency is banned by the authority in your country then I will advice you to stay away from all form of activities that relate to crypto because the government might be monitoring every citizens activities from the inside and that will get you into further trouble. All I can advice you is to keep your hope alive and have faith in no time from now heaven will smile on your country and all the economy and social crisis will be over and good life return.

Can you give which specific country you are living in Middle East? Are you on the right age to start working? because you have said that you are still young but I like your sense of understanding the situation you are living with.

Like others advice, know your skill first while you are young and manage to improve it as you grow older. Bitcoin may not be popular to your country but time will come that it will eventually accept and recognize it soon.

That is very sad to hear OP, really appreciate that you are trying to break out of this toxic system.

There are websites where one can offer jobs (redesign a website, program additional features for a tool, ... ) on a freelancer basis, the payment is done via BTC. All of those tasks require programming skills, not sure if you have them?

If not and you are interested in software development start an online course and try to learn it. This skill is needed worldwide and those jobs are usually paid very well.

I can draw paintings, translate, review things like software or anything and comment on them. I also can do tech-support on Windows.
I'm afraid learning other skills like programming to be a pro would take so much time.
I can't get paid in real world currency because of all the sanctions. I can only get paid via cryptocurrencies.
What is ME? Montenegro? If you are in a country in which bitcoin is banned. I advise you not to get bitcoins since you cannot escape the law in your country. But, you can really have bitcoins if you are in a country that accepts bitcoin. An immigration could solve the problem.
It's the Middle East. I don't like to tell publicly which country for privacy reasons, but you can ask me in private messages.
Immigration is all the thing I want and ever wanted since the last ten years. I have always lived the lifestyle of the European and western people, thus I couldn't blend in with the retarded society here. I think I'd be quickly offered an asylum in a decent country like Germany if I could ever reach its soil. In fact, I wonder why I should be here when I consider how easily and quickly I would've integrated in the western countries' societies. I'm even ready to get interviewed for hours just to prove that I can be useful for the host country and society and I wouldn't live like a Lumpenproletariat. Riddicously, I can't even easily get a tourist visa for Germany from here because the passport of this country worths nothing and doesn't have any value.  :'(
However there are some (shady) people claiming they could send me to Germany or Sweden if I pay them 6000-8000 EUR, which I clearly don't have since the national currency here is riddicously cheap and worths nothing compared to EUR or USD.

First, I'd like to say thank you for your kindness and understanding. I appreciate it so much.
As I said above and in this post, I have some basic/intermediate coding skills with C++. I can design websites, could you help me find a platform or website to offer this service and have serious customers?
I haven't seen any oppurtunities here since I was 15... I clearly knew I wasn't made for living in this country. Life here is like a prison for me, I'm in my room behind my computer most of the time, because the outside environment reminds me of the simple things I miss in my life which are freedom, hope and happiness, and companionship. As similar to a prison cell, its so hard to get out of this shithole.

I'm 25.

Thank you so much. I appreciate your understanding.
Would you please introduce those websites? I have basic to intermediate C++ skills and I think I can improve in a few months.

Thank you all so much for your understanding. Honestly I didn't expect bitcointalk to have such a kind, warm, down to earth, helpful, and understanding community.

The Services board (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0) is what you're looking for. Look through the offers, nce in a while something might work for you. Or create your own topic, be very specific explaining the skills you offer, and show examples of your work when you can. Watch out for scammers, and be honest.

Please don't join the many people who pay human traffickers (AKA organized crime) to enter Europe illegally!

Add those two together, and you'll see why you can't get a tourist visa. You're not a tourist.

In this forum we basically have service advertising sections.
These are sections you will find people advertising for services they offer or look for people/services to hire for projects and payment is usually through bitcoin or altcoin.
Since you are a beginner, you can first start by joining projects that are looking for people hire and then as your portfolio grows you can start advertising your services in the sections(people always trust someone who has been quite reputable and has a good past work portfolio to show)

You can check out
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=84.0 - For bitcoin paying related services
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=197.0 - For Altcoin paying services.

I would also recommend you use escrow services for you deals or transactions to avoid getting scammed.

There are also a couple of websites I know that require you to do some tasks such as designing code, graphics, writing blogs or find bugs in exchanges for Ether or other altcoins.
The tasks are advertised daily by different projects. Most of the projects are already established and chances of wasting your time are really very low so long as you present quality work since everything is handled by the smart contract

They Include
- https://gitcoin.co/ (Very good for a github lover)
I have used them recently and they seem awesome. You can try to look into them.
Good luck with your pursuit  :)

Sad to hear about the situation in your country. Hope you can get away from all that craziness.

Have you tried any of the sites offering payments via bitcoin for different freelancing jobs?
Since you are familiar with coding/programming you should be able to find some work.
http://www.cryptogrind.com/
https://www.xbtfreelancer.com/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Jobs4Bitcoins/

Just be careful who you are dealing with so you don't get scammed.

Good Luck to you.

Thank you for the merits. I'll try to see if I can make something out of that board.
I understand and agree with everything you wrote. My life here doesn't worth a dime for the officials and I can't make a change in the environment by my own. It's too complicated and it gets worse everyday. I've also converted to Christianity and that alone would/could be fatal for me here.

What escrow service do you recommend? Do we have one in the "services board"?

When it comes to escrow services you can take a look at the following thread that has a list of several trusted providers.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910.0

Make sure you are talking to the right person and not someone who tells you to contact them via Telegram or off-site.
Check the trust ratings for the user you want to deal with and always follow the step by step instructions as posted in their threads.

Hey while I’m sad to hear about your life scenario, I feel you can earn lot of bitcoins if you put some efforts here. I would suggest you to head to the service section, and see if you can offer your services to earn bitcoins. Also you can post quality posts and join signature campaigns and earn from it, if you qualify as per their guidelines.

I don't know how you will use your cryptocurrencies to get away from your country but for short period amount of time, you might get a job, and successfully get the cryptocurrency payments. In a situation, whereas Bitcoin is hardly recognized as payments options, and the condition of your county. You might need to think of how to cash-out your cryptocurrencies for maybe buy basic life support or smth. Have you ever tried localbitcoins to see whether there someone able to exchanges bitcoin with your FIAT?

Is there anyway that you can join the whale of immigrants that are fleeing to Europe and get away from anything? I believe you are in one of the countries torn apart by war and bombing.

Being able to exchange them is not my current concern. There would be always someone who would exchange them.
And the fact of life is that money is the power. Universities in Europe are 'free', but living there would cost about 10K EUR per year. One of my goals is to earn at least 10K EUR in BTC for that purpose to enter Europe legally and study to pursue my dreams.
There are people in localbitcoins and I'm deciding to buy from them.

Gone are the days when they could easily arrive and settle down. The borders are closed and it's very hard or fatally dangerous to get there and many are stuck in Greece or some other countries. Anyways I won't try crossing the borders on foot. I wish I could just teleport! just like how I can send my message to the world using the Internet.
