Title: Bitcoin Debit Card
Post by: eann014 on April 15, 2019, 10:09:28 AM
Do you think that bitcoin debit card link to our bitcoin online wallet will be implemented or is it possible to happen in the future? After all, we still want some improvement and some option for us to pay in some grocery stores or department stores that accepting cards right? And do you think this is helpful?

I'm sure that it wouldn't be too far from reality and it will surely happen in the future. As they are trying to develop and improve bitcoin, I'm sure that they will also try to implement having a bitcoin card for crypto users in the future. Of course, it will be a big help since they would make things more convenient. We all know the advantage of having a credit card these days.

I personally wouldn't use such a debit card yet due to the high volatility of BTC, but I would surely be interested in it once the value of BTC stabilizes and the volatility lowers.

There are several Bitcoin ATMs available already which is why Bitcoin related debit cards might come out in the near future.

Coinbase had already been trying to accomplish all these which recently I have read an article about it which they are releasing a debit card allowing card holders to convert BTC, LTC and XRP to fiat in making transaction. Still unsure about how true the said announcement, it is making the bulls ready though so it must be just to make the market positive but its working.

There've been plenty of these cards already. The problem is that they all require a third party and always will. You can't step into the world of conventional payments without it. That means you have to leave your coins with them  so they can convert them. They all die eventually too.

Long back itself bitcoin debit card service have come to existence with limitations in usage on Marketplaces. I don't remember the exact name, earlier one of the firm conducted even a signature campaign for the promotion of the same debit card service. As of now I see bitpay providing access to load funds on debit cards with bitcoin.

I don't think it is helpful. All it adds it's just another middleman, making the entire idea of crypto kinda pointless.
I would appreciate NFC payments popularisation more. Why bother with a card, when you could use your phone as such?
Probably still in 'not so far future' this concept is, but definitely better than old-fashioned plastic.

..this might have to happen soon..technology nowadays are rapidly increasing, thus the use of Bitcoin will probably become more convenient when debit card or even credit card will be implemented..specially now that the use of cards in different transactions like in gorceries, department stores etc. are more efficient than bringing cash in your pocket..and this might be helpful to everyone, but I think few would use such debit cards because the volatility of Bitcoin price is unevitable..

I absolutely think this will be made avilable, first by cryptocurrency wallets such as Coinbase in the UK and EU, and also in Asia. When banks see the profits that cryptocurrency banks are making, they then will jump in with their own debit cards.

I think this is a feasible option even with volatility, by allowing customers to segregate their cryptocurrency from fiat currencies and convert them online or with a mobile app as a prepaid option. Rewards can also be added to incentivize use of this payment system.

Bitcoin Debit Card does exist, there are some that I know such as Bitpay, Cryptopay and Spectrocoin. Most of them are basically online bitcoin wallet, so you can use their bitcoin wallet and connect it to the debit card imho. I'm not really interested to have one as it will be useless in my area as I cant use it :)

I think it could be possible to happen in the future as there will be a debit card or credit card who will interest with bitcoin and they want to integrate it with blockchain technology. But for when the right time will happen, we are not sure and still don't know. Soon, we will be able to pay in some grocery stores or department stores as you mention so we don't have to use fiat to buy something. That will help for the crypto user as they can use their wallet and scan the barcode to make a payment.

The Bitcoin debit card allows you to add funds in Bitcoin to your card's prepaid balance. Thanks to that, you can buy almost anything with Bitcoin. While many businesses do not accept payments in Bitcoin, they accept debit cards. With Bitcoin debit cards, merchants are paid in their own currency when you are billed in Bitcoin from your prepaid balance. But there are weaknesses. when using a Bitcoin debit card, you basically give others control over your coins (at least what you deposit).

Yes it is also good, NFC is also a better way for paying than a card, but not all phones have NFC connection, so to those who have bitcoin but doesn't have their phone with NFC connection still useless for them. Although NFC is a better way and can be implemented in the future.

There should be web wallet who will create debit card for bitcoin. That means we will need third party to use you bitcoin. I don't think it will be possible directly use you bitcoin with debit card from your bitcoin address holding with private key. But I think it will be enough if any web wallet take this step like blockchain or coinbase. As far as I know you can convert your fiat to btc via debit card. But I don't think there is any system that will allow you to convert your btc to your debit card as fiat. But hope near future someone will implement this oppurtunity.

How about the security? Is the debit card decentralized? We all know that we are nearly going into the cahless society but we have to accept the fact that governments won't allow cryptocurrency to overpower fiat. For me fiat money and Bitcoin is a perfect tandem because we need both physical and electronic money depending on our transactions either online or offline anywhere in the world.

There is nothing impossible when it comes to technology, like this kind of industry that may really help the payment methods in the future, if there is a service provider of processing cash out then it is too close on what you think, maybe it is not that hard to do it and we are close to that, the only risk that we may encounter for the postponement of it is the central bank and the banks who are not ready for this nut once it is started this is the start of crypto base payment.

I think this is a good idea and better than bank credit card. I hope they will develop it without any hassle and annual fee free because  all of credit card that we are holding right now we are paying an annual fee but on my own opion this is not worth it because they already have an income on what we are buying using their card.

I think bitcoin debit card would be possible to be executed. However, for now, that is just a speculation. Even though we can tell that debit card with cryptocurrency is not far from reality, the question is that how will the regulators and banks think about it? Also, there's a point of view where debit cards in bitcoin are useless. Why do you need a debit card if you have your phone with a very simple QR code which you could just put in front of the scanner and can withdraw cash?
Do you think it is a good idea?

After all, debit cryptocurrency is also not ideal since BTC is a volatile market. Well, we don't know but yes I belong to the group who expect that to happen as well.

This was implemented before albeit being a short-lived stint since regulators from EU and US stopped debit card providers from using bitcoin as means of loading up the said cards. I'm pretty sure once the regulations have been aptly reforged, reconstructed and passed, the rise of bitcoin debit cards would again start. It definitely works, as I have been one of those guys who used such service in the past, and it was pretty good, too!

Thay would be possible because we have already bitcoin atm.machine though it is not yet widely spread all over the world so.it may take sometime before this idea will going to happen. Besides, there are banks and money exchanger doing this so there is no problem with the atm bitcoin card for its use may be not that really necessarry.

There are ICOs out there that are promoting crypto-banking and issuing debit visa card to investors. Its like they will be accepting leading coins in their so-called crypto banks and issue them the said crypto debit card. I don't know how successful could that be but I think it will be the same with Bitcoin if in case there will be companies that will start to implement the idea.

Hopefully exchanges will make this happen, if we have a balance in out wallet in a certain exchange, then we can spend it.
I believe this is possible in some countries, those countries where crypto is already accepted and popular, but in my country there's none like this yet.
I have debit card but connected to my bank account and good thing is I can fund my bank account with bitcoin of course from third party again.

Our regular credit card has security so for sure before bitcoin debit card will be out all over it already has its own security, like passcode or pin code. Security system for our bitcoin is really important. And I read some of here that there is some bitcoin debit card already but this is not implemented all over the world.

this has already happened but the thing is that with bitcoin we don't even need them!
debit cards is a digital way of spending physical money so that you don't have to carry bags of cash with you and get robbed. with bitcoin you don't have anything physical to carry already so all you need is a digital wallet which you can put on your smart phone as your hot wallet and put some small amounts of bitcoin in it. and all the grocery stores have to do is to install a wallet that accepts bitcoin payments instead of POS machine! that way you still stick to decentralization and continue using bitcoin instead of going the centralized way of calling it "bitcoin" but really using a company's card that you charge with bitcoin  and they fully control it.

I think the deal here is in a situation where we would choose not to carry our expensive smartphone out there, instead of that, we can just take our card with us and making payments without even exposing to security cameras who may spy on our passwords, smartphone robbers, etc. I've seen one alternative that is being developed by PundiX, I'm not sure but I think it works with NFC. This is what I have been waiting for and I think most of us who are only earning in crypto is waiting for this to happen too.
We want to have this because we don't want to wait for our withdrawal to be confirmed and wait for it to be sent in our bank accounts .
At least when we have a Bitcoin Debit Card we don't have to convert our crypto into Fiat and wait for it to be sent on our account we could spend it through the debit card.

Yeah, NFC is also a good one for making a payment on physical stores like groceries or department stores. NFC is a very simple method to use when paying for sure but of course, we need a phone that has also an NFC connection with us so we can able to use it. We all know that not all phone had it.

It's not long now. Currently there are services that has mastercard or visa debit that you can link your wallets on and then transfer immediately. Though these converts bitcoin to fiat first. But i don't think it'll be long before crypto wallets themselves partner with either visa or mastercard. I think coinbase is in the process already of doing such.

Coinbase in the United Kingdom has a crypto credit card, and the shift payment also creates debit cards in the United States. but the debit card is not perfect, because crypto users are still small. so the cost of the card is very expensive. transaction costs in Europe are 2.69%.

in my opinion the only one currently working is wirex that combines a bitcoin wallet with a debit card, the user changes the bitcoins into euro / dollars in the wallet then transfers them to the card and can use it as a normal debit card...

Yes, I'm using Wirex Visa debit card and it's working perfectly. Exchange is very fast and card is accepted everywhere.
Before there was variety of cryptocurrencies debit cards available but now there are only few that are actually working. This is a very perspective area and I hope more crypto debit card providers will come to the market.

Sounds interesting however is the fee is still the same in the regular debit card? For an instance coinbase new debit card is too way expensive and you wouldn't dare to have one and just stick to the regular debit and credit card.

It's true, take a look here.
£4.95 to buy the card or a replacement card
1% fee on any cash withdrawal over £200 per month.
2% fee on any international cash withdrawal over £200 per month
2.49% "crypto liquidation fee" on any transaction
2.49% + 0.2% on any EEA transaction
2.49% + 3% on any international transaction

Now they talk a lot about partnership with payment systems. I think that if Visa, Master cards or PayPal introduced cryptocurrencies, then it will be such a pump that has not yet seen the crypto market.

In my opinion, at some point there will be a bitcoin debit card to make it easier to buy, but bitcoin itself still needs a lot of improvements so we have to wait to be repaired so we can expect a bitcoin debit card. and it will be very useful to add payment options and those who have bitcoin don't have to bother changing payments.

I think it could be possible since it received a lot of support from different countries and there are also companies who accepts it. It is not really far from being impossible and it is close to being possible anytime soon. But of course it would be hard for countries like China.

If only prices would be more stable then yes, it would be an excellent thing, especially for those who travel much. As well, you would be able to compare the prices in different places against one common standard.
The question is the transaction fees - card payment providers usually (depending on the type of business) have fees from 3-10% per single transaction.

For travelling using the Bitcoin debit card can be a good solution to problems created by local banks. Uquid charges less than 2% per transaction.  Some Bitcoin debit card providers can charge 1% per transaction if their service is available in the travelled country.

Yes I think it will be very good because everyone knows that how much will be the advantage of getting the bitcoin debit card for a crypto trader. Then the bitcoin transaction would be too easy, so we've been waiting for when it will be implemented debit card.

I haven't seen any bitcoin debit card worth using as unlike our own Debit/Credit cards, these bitcoin debit cards have a high issuance, maintenance fee as well as we have to pay per transaction and conversion fee. This doesn't make it reasonable and makes the transaction too expensive.

No idea, I'm currently pretty happy with using a Bitcoin debit card where I can just deposit Bitcoin to my card balance.
I'm using a physical Mastercard from Neteller at the moment and have been pretty happy with that.

They do charge a 2.5% fee on each deposit, but that's a price I'm willing to pay for their service.

Bitcoin debit card I think I have hard of bitcoin cards before and it operational but what I can't say is if it can be use for payment in store but if it an online stores that can be easily possible, but on offline stores around our communities it will really take some time before that can happen because most of the stores lack the relevant devices/technology that can handle such transactions in bitcoin something like a POS machine.

You are right. And if we should pay a high fee to use that debit card, I don't want to use that debit card, and it's better to scan the Barcode that available on every store so we can directly to pay from our wallet.

But that will be exciting to try to use the bitcoin debit card as it will so simple like what we did in real life and, I think that will be a new solution for people to load their bitcoin to the card so they can use it for buying something. Besides that, new people will realize and see that bitcoin have a debit card which they can use to buy in the store.

It is better if we have a bitcoin debit card that is automatically linked to our online wallet which is not hassled for us to transfer and we can have a less transaction charge.

Obviously it will be in the future, now bitcoin is still in the process of developing and growing. When the price of bitcoin rises again, there will be many new regulations about bitcoin such as the Bitcoin Debit Card

Regulations should happen first before we finally enjoy bitcoin debit card. So far you can use your bitcoin into grocery stores using your phone where you just need to scan the QR Code wallet of the grocery stores, but its still not available around the world. There will be more development in the future, all the government will regulate cryptocurrency I believe on this.

Sounds good ,But i think need some central  regulation .
Don't need for central regulation, we just need every country to support this development.  :)

I personally wouldn't use such a debit card yet due to the high volatility of BTC, but I would surely be interested in it once the value of BTC stabilizes and the volatility lowers.

There are several Bitcoin ATMs available already which is why Bitcoin related debit cards might come out in the near future.

I understand the concern with the fluctuating price. It would be better if the debit card have multiple "wallets" attached to it that we can "top-up" when the exchange rate is favorable.

Though if my bank don't have fees for cashing out I'd probably just send the converted fiat there.

Why bother with a card, when you could use your phone as such?
Same on my thoughts, there is no need for a card for bitcoin it will just increase your transaction fees.

But like what most of reply here said it is going to happen, people just want new things in their lives but I dont think it will be used by everyone.

What is the purpose of cards?

-To be more safety and you will not carry huge amount of cash in your pocket.

So what will be the purpose of bitcoin card when it is already in your phone and it is more secure than using cards? Plus it has lower transaction fees?

with a card , you dont need to execute anything other than swiping the card on the machine while on cryptos on the phone , you still need to unlock your phone and your wallet , then you need to make a transaction before you can pay someone  .  its also risky to carry around your phone because if a theft stole it , you can also lost your wallet and other important infos  while if ever you lost your credit/debit cards you can still get a new one and its cheap  .

I remember when i got my first bitcoin debit card 2 years ago, it was created by Qrypto and had some nice NFS technology. But i just take a look to their site and not sure if the business keeps running.

So after some research, i found this great article about 8 bitcoin cards you can get right now:

https://news.bitcoin.com/8-crypto-debit-cards-you-can-use-around-the-world-right-now/

The problem is that many of these providers are suddenly forced to shut down their operations, due to pressure from the law enforcement agencies. The collaboration between various national agencies is growing and the details of the debit card users in most cases are not anonymous anymore.

It will happen because people want it to be simple. Give the card, swipe it and done. The fees and everything, those will be solved by technology. Bitcoin is still too young, and there are rooms for development. Maybe someday, we will find a way to dramatically decrease the fees and bitcoin cards feasible.

I guess it will be implemented in future, just because it is a must for widespreading crypto.
It is the only way actually, otherwise people will not use it daily just because it wouldn't be as convenient as fiat payments by bank cards.
by the way, b2bx exchange is planning to issue physical cards with crypto soon.

If you really want a credit card for your private key holding wallets like blockchain wallet then it might take time . There is already crytpo debit cards are available Tenx , Monaco ( Crypto.com) still more using this you can do your crypto transaction in real time.

Even though I want it to happen I am not really sure if I would use it.
I think it is best for me to keep my Bitcoin on my wallet and only Cash out what I needed .
I like to plan on where I should spend my money and sometimes if I know that I could get cash instantly with my crypto I would overspent my money way out of my plan.

Monaco looks like a very attractive option right now, as the fee is quite low.And as far as I know, they allow deposits in BTC and ETH, in addition to Monaco. And the KYC requirements are also not that invasive. (This card is not available for residents of the United States).

Having a bitcoin debit card wouldnt be necessary. We need codes like QR, bar etc or bitcoin address to transact and doesnt need anything but that. Besides, having card means a third party would be involved and im sure KYC which we dont want will occupy this cards. We can still have paperless and cardless transaction through crypto.

What you want is a payment processor, the most infamous being Bitpay, that bridges bitcoin into usd. They already provide credit cards and debit cards are just a variant of the same (and handled by the same companies anyway).

I don't like them because their fees are outrageous, PLUS the payment processor. Instead a direct bitcoin payment would take just like 3 cents, or even less with Lightning.

You can "fill" a credit card by putting money in when it has no debt, and in fact you can enlarge its "limit". Doesn't matter if they issue a card with 1USD limit you can pay "in advance" a 100$ and that becomes your temporary "limit". So called "prepaid".

Unfortunately those who handle such cards are very hostile to Bitcoin, there are still intermediaries making money because of that.

In the end everyone benefits by kicking them all. Buyer and Seller should transact directly.

development to facilitate currency trading but the important question
What will you do with a third party controlling your currencies?

From my perspective as we are seeing during current days more and more technology solutions are poping out of older ideas.
These ideas will make it possible for new implementations into our real world thus as bitcoin debit cards which were spoken already few months ago.
If this idea gets huged in more companies i do believe it will be accepted more quickly and used anywhere in any kind of payment system.

Yeah, no need to have a bitcoin debit card. Anyway, when a certain shop accepts bitcoin, you can just directly send money from your wallet. At least no third party company is controlling your account. So I believe, there's no need for this.

Maybe there are other company now trying to integrate crypto in a atm card or debit card but mind you that its process is very complicated and it even worsen when two system were opposite to each other. Cryptocurrency is a decentralized system while we are using fiat money that centralized in form. Though I still believe that there coulf be a way because we know we are digital now.

I have one in my pants that works right now- Wirex.

Revolut only allows Bitcoin price exposure. And only if you pay for their premium account and there's no way of telling whether they have any actual coins. You can't deposit or withdraw. You get an IOU to cash in.

This thread is fucking weird. There have been cards everywhere for years yet many are talking like it's a far off prospect. Are most the posters stuck in some sort of time loop?

It will downgrade the easyness of bitcoin itself.
It should be just an app and scan with QR code to do some transaction and stored in a cloud servers so it will be more easier and more practical

LOL!
Logically a huge number of posters should be from Asia. Asia where Wirex doesn't work. Asia where US cards also don't work. Asia where TenX has some chances to get to if they'd advance in what they're claiming to be doing (they'll cover APAC soonTM)

Revolut seems to have good marketing or something. Everybody knows about them, although not sure what they do :) I couldn't even find clear info if they launched their Asia operations or they will do it soonTM :)
When most cards were down, one could withdraw from Bitstamp to Revolut and say "hey, I have a Bitcoin-friendly card" (which is not Bitcoin card, I know, but still useful).
Since then there started to come out stories with Revolut freezing accounts randomly and ask very strict KYC data in order to access the money, so I expect they'll lose the Bitcoin community as soon as more Bitcoin card providers show up.
However, until then Revolut may still be an option for some. (I've used it lately since it's cheaper than Wirex and the conversion rates to my local currency are also good.).

For a decent length of time Wavecrest cards served most of the world's population but I guess newcomers won't be familiar with them since they're dead and gone. There was Wagecan too who didn't seem to give a shit where you are, but they seem to have gone quiet.

Revolut have definitely done something because people keep mentioning them here no matter how many times they're told it's not very crypto ish at all. Ah well. If they wish to waste their time who am I to stop them?

You don't need to generalize. Some of the Asian-based banks are issuing debit cards that can be loaded with BTC or BCH. Wagecan is an example, and I think they are based in Taiwan. On top of that some of the European banks also ship their debit cards to Asia.

Wagecan don't offer cards any more that I can find, though they may still service existing cards. They also cost about $200 to buy and took one week to load with funds. That's not my idea of a good time.

Exactly because the banks. If I want to convert some Bitcoin into fiat in order to spend, I may face the risk to get my account frozen and having to answer to questions from people that don't want or don't care to understand the crypto world.
Also, especially in the case of a true Bitcoin debit card, in case I need some extra fiat to spend, I will have it within 2 blocks.

Maybe when I think that the bitcoin debit card is not necessary and it is very important to be able to have it. because besides maybe not all can accept the bitcoin debit card, it seems likely that the transaction is a bit difficult because prices always change rapidly. and it seems easier for Bitcoin to be exchanged first with fiat money that can be used directly.

Bitcoin Debit Card is a good concept but we already have our own mobile phones. It is much easy paying a store by scanning their qr codes and sending bitcoin to the address of the store owner. But I also do not want to throw away that idea of a bitcoin debit card. It could also be feasible by linking our wallet to the debit card itself it could also make the transaction more convenient. But this could only possible if a certain third party or a company will be going to put up servers to cater this kind of transactions.

I don't know if you are much active here but there are already many working companies already offering such cards. Bitpay is a very good example they have a lot of kiosks from which you can directly withdraw your bitcoin. Even unocoin a company in india did the same by installing a kiosk in a mall from which you could withdraw bitcoins directly however this machine was soon shut down i think in a week due to legal status of bitcoin in India.

Visa/Master will not directly allow you to convert your Bitcoins to fiat cash, but there are intermediaries. Visa/Master pre-paid debit cards are available from companies such as Wagecan and Monaco, and they allow you to load these cards with Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash. Wagecan is based in Taiwan and Monaco is based from a European Union member country.

if im correct coinbase offers a credit card but you need to comply for KYC like other bitcoin credit card provider, and i think you need to convert it first to fiat to be able to use.

I personally wouldn't use such a debit card yet due to the high volatility of BTC, but I would surely be interested in it once the value of BTC stabilizes and the volatility lowers.
Why would the volatility matter if you knew the value of bitcoin at the particular moment you were going to use the debit card?  The payment processor is the one that has to bear the risk of volatility.

Haven't I seen bitcoin debit cards advertised here before?  I vividly recall a picture of someone holding one with a piece of paper blocking out the personal information.  The thread I saw that picture in was a scam accusation one too, if I am recalling correctly.

Whether they exist now or not I know they have been in the works for years.  I don't know what the stumbling block is to their creation and use.  Is it that companies like Visa & Mastercard don't want to be involved with bitcoin?

It is much easy paying a store by scanning their qr codes and sending bitcoin to the address of the store owner.
That is assuming you can find a brick & mortar store that accepts bitcoin.  Those might be commonplace in some countries, but not in mine.

Most of the BTC debit card providers gives the gateway option for the many crypto site as a payment medium.

Country is the matter to receive the coinbase card too buddy.

All Bitcoin Debit Cards require nowadays KYC verification so for this reason it doesn't matter what card you want to use, keep in mind that the Coinbase Card is at this time only for people from the United Kingdom. The good old days that we were able to use anonymous cards were still the best but regulations killed all this cards.

Who can sign up for a Coinbase Card?
At this time, only residents of the United Kingdom may apply for a Coinbase Card. We’re working on expanding the offer to additional European markets.

Its great and nice to find ways to implement Bitcoin to our daily lives such as groceries, shopping or paying bills. But it may seem great I think its not efficient to do payments for your daily needs using Bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is volatile and it may be your loss if you pay using Bitcoin. Its a great idea but still we need to wait for the time when Bitcoin will be less volatile.

You don't need a Bitcoin Debit card per say to pay at supermarkets etc. A normal bank-issued debit card that accepts transactions from crypto exchanges like Coinbase will suffice and you will be assured your payment will be accepted worldwide. There have been many problems with dodgy crypto debit card providers in the past and people have been left without access to funds while traveling abroad due to issues with their cards.

I tried investing in one of those bitcoin debit cards called hashcard and it turned out to be a complete scam.  I think im going to wait on the sidelines for these types of cards until one of these big banks like JP morgan gets involved.

Yes indeed it would be a great initiative if the value of bitcoin becomes stable like the value of gold but that's not how crypto works as it's highly volatile and it can go upside down anytime but again we need some sort of offahot of bitcoin which should be stable and used for purpose of daily use like shopping and all.

If you want to use the card only for online shopping or booking of flight tickets, then there are plenty of options. A huge number of companies offer virtual debit cards. On the other hand, if you want to withdraw cash from the ATMs, or want to use the card for retail shopping then you need a physical debit card. Options are more limited for the second case.

It is a good way of diversification to have bitcoin debit card because you are limiting yourself from spending a lot of money into luxurious things and with the help of the debit card you will separate your funds from your main wallet and it will build a habit of self-discipline in terms of spending your money and you will learn how to budget.

This certainly will greatly help Bitcoin users to spend their money on a shopping place that accepts the Bitcoin Debit Card. But I think it will run smoothly if in that country it does not prohibit the use of Bitcoin.

I don't how debit cards will actually apply into you. Even though we don't have debit card we still be using bitcoin at a very comfortable way, we can spend it right away using our smart phones. The surge used of cryptocurrency will be giving some indications that a lot of individuals will having a steps towards crypto.

It's maybe happen in future that we can use bitcoin debit card. Already some community try to build bitcoin debit card, they research how to build it properly. If it's happen in future then I think it will be more good for bitcoin. Bitcoin now available in offline transaction and becoming popular as popular as online transaction so I think it's possible that bitcoin debit card in future.

The debit card system implementation with the bitcoin is not suitable in the long term as the data is mainly in control of a group banking network and in case of data leakage will be more harmful then expected.

Bitcoin debit cards have more disadvantages than advantages for me. The fees are too high and the reception is sometimes not very good worldwide so I might end up not being able to pay even if it says MascterCard ot Visa cards accepted here. Those cards are just glorified debit cards with extra fees attached to them  ::)

Correct me if I'm wrong, I have seen some services that act as a middle man to do the same. I understand its not ideal, but at least it works everywhere VISA/MasterCard is accepted.

as we already can see bitcoin debit card is already a thing. maybe it is not very hugely being used by everyone but many companies have already tried to implement this idea. even there were some signature campaigns before which allowed having bitcoin debit cards. and if you are lucky enough then you will also one bitcoin atm in your area.

If bitcoin wallet and debit card would be connected to each other then it would probably a good thing. Although it's good, it should have been like this. You can switch bitcoin to your country's currency because of a clear reason, volatility.

I don't think it's due to pressure from law enforcers, there are many out there that have a bitcoin atm, but this is a matter of interest, bitcoin is still in the interest of people, forcing them to stop bitcoin atm services. Debit cards from banks are still very effective cards compared to bitcoin debit cards.

I think having a Bank account where you have a regular checking account that enables crypto is the key. Its finally here with Onyx. Check out robdscott.onyxlifestyle.com

You get a UK Bank account, Wire funds in and out like a normal account but then also send in crypto and go from crypto to fiat and back to crypto. You get a Credit card debit card.

The cool thing is if you sell your crypto position your funds are available in minutes versus days with coinbase.

This is a game changer for sure. Head over to robdscott.onyxlifestyle.com to learn more

Adding a debit card to our wallets will not help cryptocurrencies since the transactions will still be made with fiat since shops don't accept crypto right now. So, all of this services that offer bitcoin debit cards don't do anything different than an exchange does expect the fact that they complete the transaction between you and the actual shop you are paying.

We know card uses is easy than others but QR code more easily than a card. Yes, it will be not bad if it will happen. Because it will help for offline users but there could be a problem if the card is stolen or lost. So, what do you think now?
If the card is stolen or lost, then there is no problem, as long as we can have a security code or special security key for that card then I think that's already a good option for payment but you are also right, we can use our mobile phones scanning our QR code in our wallet for payment option, additional option is NFC, it is easier I think.

I'm against this, its a complete step backwards.  Bitcoin was created to cut out the middlemen and give us financial freedom.  This is just bringing in a 3rd party to charge outrageous fees and have ultimate control over the payments.

For countries that legalize bitcoin, providing debit cards is certainly one of the payment solutions, especially for traders who accept bitcoin.
However, for transactions, bitcoin wallets are used because the coding system is a very important protection for bitcoin debit card owners, where the system will work by protecting many parties, namely the owner of one bitcoin, on the other hand, the owner of the merchant.

Why will you need a Bitcoin Debit card? Most of the transactions made with Bitcoin can be easily done with your normal Bitcoin wallet easier and faster. For me,  I think it will be a waste of time for developers to create Bitcoin Debit Card. The crypto ecosystem do not need this kind of suggestions and  ideas. This will just introduce a lot of third parties into the Bitcoin space if people start using Debit Card made for Bitcoin transactions.

This will become advantageous if the entire digital and fiat systems will be compatible. Merging decentralized and centralized currency will eliminate conflicts of transactions, since it's mentioned here waste of time for the developers. Bitcoin debit card will be the best option to introduce digital money towards the people, so withdrawing your btc can be done in fast exchange from digital to paper money instantly at local atm machines.

I see this happening. It's a matter of when as the if factor is settled. So much fintech projects and ICOs all have Debit cards developed but everyone looks forward to bitcoin having its own card. The first step to this will be the bitcoin ATM machines which already is in existence and being use. So let's wait for it . It will come soon. Some countries that have legalized bitcoin will definitely be at the forefront of this innovation.

Of course and some options exists where it is already available. Exchanging right away to fiat for merchants is by far the best way to go right now. Later, other possibilities can be viewed seriously.

And not only for Department Stores, for everything.

I think this is helpful but there might be a considetation to make this fully implemented. That is if bitcoin will stand by itself as a real currency that could correspond or equate to fiat currency. Because of some volatilities, many are a bit hesitant to establish a business where the currency will be bitcoin. May be there is a way to make it stable as problems often have solutions.

With a bit of research, you'll know that they already exist. Bitpay, Cryptopay, and Shift Bitcoin are just a few examples. I really don't think it's for me though, unless, an emergency takes place. This system would "possibly" require identification, a third party and all that junk. Kinda beats the purpose decentralization, ey? I'd rather keep my BTC and simply go with my regular debit card when purchasing stuff.
