Title: What are the best fiat to crypto exchanges?
Post by: Mr.Hoffman on April 17, 2019, 07:50:10 AM
Yo guys! So, I’ve been interested in the crypto world for a few months now… and have just started my journey in this super exciting world!! I guess I know the basics of crypto – as in, I know what ‘fiat’ currency is … at least I think I do. But.. I’m still learning the ins and outs of the ‘Crypto Exchange’ world. Tbh I feel a bit confused sometimes, with all the variety of exchanges out there, it’s hard to tell from a reputable name from one which is simply a ‘rogue’ brand.
After a bit of research here and there, I’ve come to realise that there are actually different ways and routes when wanting to exchange fiat currency to cryptocurrency.  Yeah sure, some are straightforward, but heck! Some are bloody difficult to figure out… and charge higher fees! Then there are those complicated ones which will give you more bang for your buck (or crypto? Hah!). Also, could you recommend the best Fiat to Crypto exchanges out there (https://www.cryptimi.com/cryptocurrency-exchanges/fiat-to-crypto-exchanges/)?  Any words of advice?? Does anyone know which are the best fiat-crypto to exchanges out there? I also want to choose an exchange which tends to have a good selection of fiat currencies… TIA guys!

From what country you from?

Check each exchanges on the list. If possible, sign up at each and see their deposit methods. Read also their terms. I see that all those exchanges in the list is somehow well known already in the world of crypto although we don't want to take away the "risk".

Don't want to suggest which of those exchanges you will choose as I want you to check for yourself what will be convenient for you . After selecting an exchange, come back here and ask the community about their self experiences to that exchange.

It depends on what country you are from like Coinbase allows bank withdrawals for these countries: https://support.coinbase.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1392031-what-countries-are-buys-and-sells-available-in-

If you belong to another country, you need to search up the best one in the local section of your country. Not many trusted exchanges out there that support more than one country's local currency.

It depends on the country you come from and/or the currency you use because exchanges don't use all currencies possible pairs as you guess. Some use only EUR/USD, some use EUR/GBP/USD/JPY and so on. For EURO Bitstamp and Kraken are good, Coinbase for GBP. But since you didn't say much...

Bittrex uses fiat currencies?

OP is just promoting that site (link he posted), and he is not interesting in any information. His account is created in 2014, and it is very likely linked with bitchangerpromo (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=246417), who made identical thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5132418.0) 2 days ago. People use all sorts of ways to promote their sites, but this is certainly not one of the smartest.

Cryptocurrency investment is like any other investment but this market is highly volatile. You can invest in this but please make a rule of thumb. Invest the money which you are ready to lose and don’t invest the money which you need in short time. You can buy 100+ cryptocoins with credit card (https://coinswitch.co/app/exchange?from=usd&to=btc)directly from CoinSwitch at the best rates. They provide a seamless experience by integrating with reliable and secure exchanges and helping their customers get the best rates while ensuring their security.

Try to avoid any credit card/debit card transactions, because these have the most spread and fees when you're transacting. If you have funds in your bank account, the best rates you're going to get is going to come from either cash deposit or bank transfer as a form of payment, not a card payment.

The specific exchange you want to use will depend on the country you're from, and what you need in terms of your volume, demand for convenience/best rates, etc. But regulated, licensed exchanges generally are much more liquid, and will give you the best rates regardless of your country. The only downside is that you need to provide KYC, which can be a very tiresome process to go through. These include exchanges like Kraken, Coinbase Pro, etc.

If you aren't comfortable with providing KYC, I suggest going with p2p exchanges like LBC or Paxful if you want convenience and decent rates. You're protected at all times by escrow, and there is a variety of payment methods.

Wow, thanks for such big answer.

Why some exchanges require KYC?
Because that how exchange can protect itself against possible accusations from law enforcement agencies in assisting money laundering and financing of the terrorism.

Why do you choose to buy crypto with fiat?
Maybe because it's the most stupid thing ever.
