Title: Your favorite kind of lottery?
Post by: SundayLottery on April 18, 2019, 12:40:24 AM

What is your favorite / preferable kind of lottery:

1. Active or passive approach:

Active: you need to guess winning numbers your self (like 6/45 etc.)

Passive: just buy ticket and wait if the ticket is lucky or not

2. Odds or prize amount?

Will you choose a lottery game with higher odds but lower prize, or lower odds but huge jackpot?

3. Reasonable ticket price?

Thank you everyone who joins the discussion.

I like both active and passive lottery. In real-life lottery I only play passive lottery, I don't like picking nunbers by my self. Lower-odds, higher jackpot is the best, to test my luck. No idea about the ticket price, as long as it is reasonable, it is okay.

In my country i never see yet, about passive lottery that we only buy ticket and wait for announced. But sometime i do buy number and it announce everyday. Actually when win, it is my money that loss in past and no profit  ;D.

Well I prefer passive way (only buy tickets and don't choose numbers, it is easier) but I don't like to wait so I would buy one short term game with smaller prize and one long term to test my luck.
Ticket price depends on game and potential. It may be 1-5-20 dollars depends on situation. Of course I will not bet a hundred but only because I am not too addicted or too rich.

This is my answer:
1. I choose passive because I only buy the ticket and wait for the ticket is lucky or not. If I cannot win, then I am lucky.
2. Lower odds but huge jackpot.
3. Less than $5 ;D

I don't want to buy a lottery if the price of the lottery is more than $5 because I don't spend too much money to play the lottery and I don't expect to win.

I prefer to active lottery, as it is the most popular one in my country. So many people buy it every single day but I cant find similar lottery in this bitcoin gambling industry.

2. Odds or prize amount?

Will you choose a lottery game with higher odds but lower prize, or lower odds but huge jackpot?

The lottery which is popular in my country has some various odds, players may choose which odds to bet based on their own preferences. I myself prefer to bet on average odds with average prize (not too low and not too high odds)

3. Reasonable ticket price?

As small as possible. The lottery that I used to join is a flexible lottery. We can buy the ticket/number(s) as we wish, the prizes are fixed. So winning number(s) will be multiplied by the available fixed payout.

1. Passive
2. Higher odds but lower prize
3. $10 would be reasonable in my opinion

I basically would focus on higher odds over bigger prizes any day of the week.

I like to bet in an active lottery which has lower odds but includes huge jackpots. For 3 times a week, we have a lottery game here that is drawn and televised live on a local channel here. It's much more convincing to win in an active lottery than just scratching the ticket and waiting to see if you could win or not.

I like a combination of both passive and active numbers when I play the lottery, I have some numbers I play sometimes, but I also like just to buy a series of computer-generated numbers.
But after I have been playing the lottery for more than 20 years, I still haven't won anything worth remembering.

What is your favorite / preferable kind of lottery:

1. both active and passive because i play both  . everyday i buy lotto tickets locally ( the game is active ) because ill choose my own 6 digit number . i do also play online lottery the one that can be found on freebitco  , where i only buy a set amount of tickets using my satoshis , its a passive game because i dont need to choose any number  . the system will only randomly pick the winner based on your ticket and based on how lucky you are .

2. Odds or prize amount? Will you choose a lottery game with higher odds but lower prize, or lower odds but huge jackpot? : i choose both  . offline lottery like the one that mentioned above have a higher odds because its a 6 digit game but the jackpot is high . i also play online lottery but idk if the odds is lower or higher because their prize is not that high but i dont ever experience to win on it maybe because my tickets are only small .

3. Reasonable ticket price? , , the prize of offline lottery are more higher ( its millions , sometimes billions )  while the prize on online are less lower  , they are only hundred thousands  .

I play mostly with games like buying tickets and wait until it was called to win the price. I am not that lucky picking numbers who i choose to be the winning combination. Its a lot harder to win that way. I still consider bet amount since it should be under my gambling capital.

1. Passive approach, I'm used to buy ticket and wait if that's lucky or not.

2. Lower prize but higher odds.

3. $5-$20 would be reasonable for me.

I used to buy a lot of state run lottery tickets during the initial days of my career but unfortunately I couldn't won anything! Probably becoming rich overnight isn't in my fate!

Anyway,  I always like to play lotteries where I can choose the winnings numbers but I never had such options in my country. For few months Power Lotto started their business but then government banned it! But if you ask my choice, then those will be,

1. Active lottery
2. Higher odds but lower price
3. Reasonable price is good to have but not a deciding factor always unless the price is exorbitant

i usually play lottery on Trueflip after i got every rewards/giveaway i got from them

my preferable lottery
1. Passive (I just buy and let the auto pick to choose the number)
2. i usually choose the huge jackpot
3. i usually play on trueflip, and their ticket price just around 0.0002BTC

Passive lottery for sure! Lower odds with higher jackpots is the way to go for me. I can always buy multiple tickets to increase my chances but again depends on the cost of a single ticket. Most of the lottery tickets at Tesco/SuperValu you get locally are passive anyway.

I remember the first time I know gambling games, and I play the lottery. That is the only games I played before I know the dice game.

Related to the answer, here is my answer:
1. Passive. I don't like to guess any ticket that will comes out because it is too hard for me.

2. Higher odds but the lower prize.

3. Between $5-$10

But it could vary depends on the website I use to play the lottery because sometimes I visit a gambling website which has lower odds. So I guess it will depend on the site itself.

Most of the lotteries i've won is from a passive approach so that's my preferred type of lottery. The active lottery makes me second guess myself, once the winning numbers are out sometimes you get that regret for not picking that number.

High odds because the prizes are usually shared with a couple of winners.

The best and reasonable ticket price is to make it as small as possible because  there's no limit on how much tickets can be bought.

I dont believe much with lottery specially those larger ones that are being controlled by the government.
Id rather pick those private ones.

High prize but low odds. That way it will be much exciting. That is my pick.

But again, I would do poker instead of that.
It is more lively for me and I love the way people are putting a poker face just so to win, which I also do.

I do not trust both the lottery managed at the government level, or small ones managed privately. I think lottery is a way of gathering money from the people and in return give them nothing. They collect so much money that rewarding a few people some reward in the end  is not a problem at all.

I am good with the second option like betting and winning to a pool of prize with low pool of prize or high. This is also good for the starters in betting where they can bet using the reference of other bets and win together with them. This is also a time where one could.learn on how to bet knowing other's perspective when betting.

Yet, it is also good to bet online casino games. This is an old school but until.now it is proven to have a lot of fun playing it. There is no wonder why until now it is being played a lot and good thing here is that there are online.casino platform running already.

I prefer passive lotteries. You just buy your tickets and sit back until the draw takes place. Wouldn't mind active lottery though.
In your second case, i prefer prize amount. I am playing lottery which is a game of chance. I would like to be "lucky" by winning huge amount through small odds.
Reasonable ticket price sounds better.
Just look at crypto-games.net lotto. They have 4 different coins and they are easy to understand with affordable price for each lotto tickets.

When we do talk about national lotteries then we cant really say that all of them are rigged yet drawing winners is live in front of the television- which is a case here on my country
where cheating or rigging out winners would be hard but who knows if those ball flying around are rigged? Tense or pressure would just rise out when the price pool or accumulated
already reaching life-changing amounts.

My answer would be
  • Passive, most common in crypto lottery
  • Lower odds but huge prize. Who would want higher odds but lower price?
The prize depends on the  pot. Probably winner takes all and get a 10% commission of the pot.

It's also really difficult to know if it's real winner or not. In Venezuela they used to do some cheats in a lottery that was called Kino Tachira. Lots of corruption, it goes to a lot of places.

I particularly prefer bets or Poker.

When I play the lottery I mostly just buy a ticket for around $10 and hope that those numbers will bring me a fortune, it would be nice to win a big price, for the small prices I keep winning, if I win any, are only just enough to pay for a new and often worthless lottery ticket!
But I really enjoy the dream of winning the first price one day.

Save for stuff like Keno, all the lottery options in my country are active and cost the same. I personally prefer playing 6/42 because of the fewer possible combinations. Sure the prize is lower but in the very rare instance that I do win, there's a far smaller chance that I'll have to share it with anyone, which is what usually happens when stuff like 6/55 reach record high jackpots.

All of the above! The more option the better where gamblers or bettors do have the choices on which one they would like to bet on. Reasonable price ticket is one of
the most important factor for a lottery.Make it cheap on where most people can afford because if you do make it expensive then this site would eat some dust.
For now i havent seen any active or popular lottery sites. They do exist but isnt really that popular.

I would actually recommend both when it comes to the lottery. But if you want, you may actually bet with both types of approach. How about buying tickets with one passive and one active? That is when you will see which would give you the win or lose. But, I also loved placing my bets and buying tickets for a passive one. However, the reason why passive tickets are better than active is that the win rate is better than the active. But the prize is really far from the active's offered prizes.

Looks like the passive approach is what I was used to back then as kid. It involves marking one or more ticket number with a pen, and not about buying the whole ticket which I guess your number 2 is talking about?

I don't have a favourite kind and I don't buy lottery tickets. This is a waste of time and money because your chances are very low. So low that in many lotteries it's more probable for you to be hit by a lightning than win the main prize. I also don't understand people who keep playing even when they don't win anything for years. I know such people myself and they have a habit of wasting money on lotteries.

I haven’t known of your passive type of lottery where you buy tickets and wait for the result, here we buy ticket and scratch them to see if the ticket have jackpot results like cash or kinds. So I think its not called lottery.
No.2 i will choose higher odds for sure, this way chances of losing is less and ticket price is depending on how many slots you are going to take so if I want the whole card to be shaded that will be a lot of money so it still depend on your own currency and your slots.

1. I prefer passive

3. Maybe around 10~20$

I've always had the passive approach when it comes to games that entirely rely on luck. I believe that these things are destined for someobe and if you're fated to win the lottery, you will whatever approach you pick. And since it's all about luck, i'd go with lower odds with the maximum jackpot possible. Again if you're destined to win you will.

I often participate in the lottery through several risk players. Here you can join in even-odd lottery betting. A fixed station determines the results. The ratio is 50-50, so I think I will be able to have a very high chance of winning if you lose you only need to double the amount of the bet the next day — an easy winning strategy.

Your strategy sounds like a martingale method though you are doing it in lottery and not on a dice game but i see that the lottery that you play is having 50-50 chance  . that is a better odds than most lottery out there  . in mycase , i rarely bet on a lottery because i always think that its impossible to win on them  but the only advantage is that the prize pool are too big compare to prizes offered on any gambling games

Even with your approach it is not feasible to take part in lottery and quite risky. If you lose one day,  and we double the amount of bet the next day and what if we lose again ? Si in order to cover the loss, you need to double, triple your initial investment and if you are unlucky, you may lose all of your money in this process.

I will choose higher odds to gain lower prize. I don't  think it is possible to win a Jackpot . It is very rare anyone who wins jackpot. And ofcourse the ticket price should be reasonable and I will never participate in a lottery if the ticket price is too high. Buying a lottery means you are losing all of your money unless you're lucky to win it.

To be honest, I think people will prefer to play dice game instead of playing lottery with small payout.

~snip~
I like to pick my own numbers, so it would be active for me. Though great gain is always tempting, my choice is however a somewhat smaller prize but with a higher chance to win. For example I can play EuroJackpot where max prize is €90 million, but price for one ticket (one combination) is €2, but in the same time I can play my local lottery where I can play some 7-8 combination for same price, but prize is significantly smaller.

1. Passive, It's all about luck and giving up on that cause I'm not very good at guessing the numbers come out.
2. lower odds but huge jackpot, Everyone wants to get rich must choose it cause I think lottery games make someone rich.
3. $1 or 0.0002BTC.

It really depends on where I am and how I'm getting into the lottery. When it comes to online crypto based gambling, I prefer active participation or some autorolling with my own strategy for which I use dicebots. Lottery tickets are fun on real life and so are card based gambles. I prefer Dice and similar provably fair games and sports betting when it comes online

I always considered how much it will be giving the money because Jackpot is happening once in your life if it was happened to me I will settled in my life so I expect a lots of money in the lottery and invest this type of lotteries only.

When I play the lottery I mostly just buy a ticket with machine-picked numbers, I have my own favorite numbers but I almost never play them anymore. I buy my lotto tickets from my phone app, then I never need to worry about checking numbers, if I win the money goes automatic to my account.

-Active-
Since i like to maintain the lucky number that i want for a period of time.

-Lower odds but huge Jackpot-
Who doesn't like to play this game if the winning prizes were too small? :D

-Ticket Price-
It should depend on the maximum people that you want to allow to play to your lottery. But of course, it should be a reasonable price so that you will gain more customers.

I only bet once or twice in a lottery and I don't want to keep any numbers because I will have an obligation then to always bet, lest I missed my favorite number and it will come out, so I am more of a passive bettor just pick random or lucky pick let the machine pick the lucky number, and if I'm lucky I will come out the winner, lottery is a gambling if you are lucky you are going to win.

The same ticket as I am buying right now $0.39(20 pesos), I'm good

I haven't used to buy lottery, from the thread only got to know much about the active and passive forms of lottery. I prefer passive lottery, because I don't know to make calculations and buy lotteries. Few of my friends used to buy lottery, and from them got to know about it, they make calculations on the ticket number and buy it. One of my friend at times used to travel 25kms to buy lottery. When it comes to the price we've got lottery starting from value less than a dollar.

If you call this as an active lottery, then I prefer this one. Since, most of my countrymen play lottery may it be 6/45 or 6/50+ depends on the prize pool and schedule.
One of the factor that interest people in active lottery is the affordability of the ticket. Passive ticket lottery may be expensive than the active one (from my personal experience here in my country)
Now, If you planned to put up a lottery business, why not do both? I guess it's both profitable.

1. Passive, It's all about luck and giving up on that cause I'm not very good at guessing the numbers come out.
Same and oftentimes just end up to lose more even I'm trying to figure out the pattern. Seems luck flying away from me.

2. lower odds but huge jackpot, Everyone wants to get rich must choose it cause I think lottery games make someone rich.
It is however the chances are also unlikely. For us to hit the jackpot it's more possible to strike by lightning than to win the jackpot. Therefore, I'd rather go to higher odds but lower reward, besides it's still a money.

1. Active or passive approach:

This depends on the mood but I do like to be passive since I am a passive person to be honest.

Does it really matter on the personality of a certain person?

Anyways, I feel the same way, it depends on my mood and my instinct of where I feel that I have the chance to win.

2. Odds or prize amount?

Obviously a higher odds with a lower prize.

As long as you have more chances of winning even with having a not bigger prize, it should be fine.

3. Reasonable ticket price?

The same ticket as I am buying right now $0.39(20 pesos), I'm good
For me, a reasonable price would be $0.20 to $1.00

but i also like the ticket who's passively draw though i only buy fewer than active one.

i wanted to  choose Lower Odds but higher jackpot because in gambling it is the luck that will decide and not the chance.

Whenever I have a chance to see lottery outlet in my area I bet in Active, lower odds but huge jackpot. In my country the price of betting for 1 card is 0.5USD. Quite fair for a huge price if lucky enough to win and some really won huge prizes.

I'm not a big fan of lottery, but yes I am betting on lottery and I am using a passive betting, it works good and sometimes I won 4 to 5 numbers there are consolation if you hit 4 and 5 numbers, and I like the low odds high prize, since this is a lottery and your chances is pretty low, you want to have a high jackpot when you hit it.

So the OP has created his own lottery site called sundaylottery.org but it is based on ETH only.
Just checked the site for a while and it looks very simple (the scheme color) but too crowded on the main page since almost everything is there.
Would be even better if the main page is for the game only.
Not really sure when it was launched but seems that there is no one place any bets in the site, there is no bet history under the last transaction tab information.

The placement of characters is all in one in the 1st web page that's why it do really looks messy and that chatbox is pretty big or getting half of the space.

About the design of the site its just really plain and simple but somewhat understandable because you would only need to send amounts into those address shown
or just simply with that big QR code.

Im aint a fun of lottery on general means that's why I don't have much interest into this one.

I am an active lottery bettor I bet twice or thrice a week with my favorite numbers, quite hard to keep this vice because I have a dream to hit the jackpot I prefer lower odds but huge jackpot a lottery to me is a one time jackpot, once you hit, you are good in all your life.

The popular one here in our country is the active approach type of lottery we have 6/42, 6/49/, 6/55 and 6/45. However, my favorite one is not in the list, which is the scratch card, can it be considered a lottery as well? You buy a card and scratch the card and if there are 3 out of 7 picture matches then you won a prize, more picture that matches, the higher the prize that you get. I use to bet with 6/42 and I bet on I have 4 sets of numbers but so far I only won 3 or 4 times I guess with just 3 matching combination.

I love lottery, this is the one gambling that can eventually change your life forever so I make it a point to be in control so I am the one picking numbers to bet usually my birthdate and all of my family, it's a combination of those numbers, I like the lower odds with huge jackpot, like what I said when you hit the jackpot your fortune will change forever.

I guess I will go for the higher rewards.

With a better user interface, actually this site can attract some Gamblers for sure. It is good to see that he is offering this game with ethereum. Using digital currencies in daily life activities can be one of the exciting experiences. But if he will increase the options of cryptocurrencies, his customers will definitely increase too. In my opinion, he is just getting started and not have a team of developers, more of a work done by a single person only. But efforts are appreciated.

Yes in the market I have seen so many people who sell lottery tickets and they get profit out of it. For buying a lottery ticket I think it’s much better to buy a low price ticket because earning from the lottery is all about luck so to try your luck it’s much better to try with a small amount. There are sites who scam with people but don’t get scam and before buying make research.

1. Of course, active, because I find that only passive luck makes decisions, while when I play actively, technique of choice and happiness.
2. I am always in favor of a bigger odds, when I get it, to get big money
3. I like to play a lot of money, at most $ 300. It all depends how sure I am about the winnings, and the size of the odds.

I prefer the passive approach. although I sometimes do the active approach(the game is called kenno lotto in my area). but I only do it if I have time to spare and I am near
a lottery booth and I only buy one ticket every time and after that, I am done. I guess the reason I prefer passive because of my tight schedule and I am not really an active
gambler might also be one of the reasons why I prefer the passive approach.

But it seems that the site is really dead now, there hasn't been any activity since last August. Likewise with @OP which is no longer active here, it can be seen last active one month ago (September). And the site looks very simple, it can be seen from the html structure, it seems that @OP only develops this site itself and it is difficult if there is no team.

It's a long time I am not playing the lottery in here because right now, it is difficult to buy a lottery. In the past, sometimes I buy lottery in the dealer, and I only use some money for about $5, and I never think that I can be the winner. I only follow what my friends do because, at that time, lottery games was a popular game among the people. But I never win to play the lottery, and then I stop to play the lottery because I have been busy in my college. But after I knew cryptocurrency, sometimes I buy a lottery at freebitco.in just because of curiosity.
