Title: What's new with ETH lately? has it made progress towards scalability?
Post by: exchangestolemycoins on April 20, 2019, 11:55:35 PM
It's been a while since I tried to use an ETH wallet. I think I tried to sync with light mode but it ended up syncing the whole blockchain anyway and taking up 500 GBs... Afraid to try it again.

Have there been any improvements on this front?

I would also be interested to know how the situation with the ethereum network has improved after the introduction of five improvements called Constantinople to this coin. As far as I know, the transaction fee has become low and there are no more complaints about the speed of transactions. However, the technical calculations on this topic I have not seen. While it is impossible to say anything definite about the further increase in the popularity of ethereum. This coin is still gradually increasing in price, however, as part of the overall increase in the cryptocurrency market.

If you want to download the whole blockchain, it will be synchronized just as long. But you can synchronize faster with fast or light parameters.
With the --fast flag, you only load block headers.
For example:
Code:
Mist.exe --node-fast --node-datadir "D:/ethereum"

I know that the ethereum team are planning on something big, but I am not sure they have done anything yet because we should have heard the news from them already, though let's hope that vitalik and the team come up with something permanent to solve the issue of scalability on the Blockchain because this has been the biggest issue we have been facing over time and it needs to be solved immediately in order for us to experience mass adoption in the crypto space.

They are working on it so far. The exact time period is yet unknown. Most probably this year they will address this issue of scalability and this is their only option to stay alive in the crypto market.

there is no coming back from certain things, the gigantic size of the whole blockchain is one of them. that is the problem that they caused by not thinking ahead and only focusing on pretending to compete with bitcoin (having fast blocks) and now running full node is impossible.

I’m sure Vitalik Buterin and his team will do my best to become number 1.
