Title: How do you imagine ideal society?

I will just throw this question here. I wish to hear what people have to say, your thoughts. Wrote couple words if you want, if you thought about it more than others give us more details. I bet there are people who never thought about it, but for sure someone did, let`s hear you.

for a capitalist its the society that gives to you the capitalist all the power and all the money and financial controll.

since capitalist want societies at the expense of others you will never get a society that makes everyone happy.

Hmm. For me it would have to be to take all the good things from the society that we have and mesh it into one functioning society.

For example I don't want people dying on the streets so for the people that are unemployed and don't want to work then I'd make sure they earn enough to live on - but on the flipside I'd also like for those that want to work 90 hours weeks and churn in the money like wild to be able to do so too. That way we have the good parts of everything.

You ask how I would fund this? Easy, get rid of needless government services. Scrape back government to a voluntary, not-for-profit civic duty that everyone has to participate in at some point in their lives so that it survives. That way it functions without people making a career out of it. Scrap lobbying, scrap any sort of financial incentives that involve the decision making in any country. Make Politics about the good of the nation and not about the deep pockets of Politicans and how far they will sell their souls to get their pockets deep.

Scrap any sort of centralisation. Banking? Out with it. No-one needs bankers. Fuck 'em. People should learn to manage their money.

And now I hear you rolling your eyes - but the people will never be able to do that.

Hell they would. Start with the youth. Educate them on responsibility and accountability. Stop them high tailing it to a government official anytime something minute goes wrong in their lives. Teach them self-respect, ownership, all that sort of stuff.

Okay, Police are needed, but not for things we've brought on ourselves.

Justice, mercy,  and good did are the three foundations of an idea society and that is the imagination I hold concerning my idea society . We would have peace when there is justice and prosperity through good did and by mercy there will be equality.

If you read Bible it seems that we only in the beginning of human history had ideal society, without borders, different languages, cultures, traditions etc.
There are only one way to achieve ideal society again.
We should accept God as our common, universal Parent and realized that we are all brothers and sisters, children from the same Father.
I don't think that politicians can unite us and create ideal society.
Even different religions can't do it, but only God's love can bring us together.

I think there should be few fulfilled conditions:
1. rich country/society with very small amount of poor people and if sb has problems in his situation there are very easy options to make it better
2. medicine with options for people to become nearly immortal with very low cost
3. very low taxes and simple law which can help for economic grow and technological development

If you read Bible it seems...

And if you read science then you will find that no ideal system exist practically. All ideal system are just theoretical concepts so same will apply to ideal society.

In theory, an ideal society is society where everybody is happy, stress free, disease free and able to do thing according to their own wishes.

Clear leadership with best people can be the ideal society, unfortunately we can't say any country in this world is ideal because everywhere there is different problems due to personal benefit, religional clauses, fight for the leadership and so on.

Don't you think that we should have some common, national goals as well?

I like this idea, except people want a sense of belonging. That is why we create value out of necessity. Maybe I can give an example: I want to sell some shiny rocks I found, because I think someone would value the time I took to find them and polish them. I need to weigh that time and effort against something everyone agrees on has value, which in my example I will say is BTC.

If anyone wants some they are listed in the goods section by the way.

An ideal society is one where the security of life and properties are guaranteed and there is an enabling environment for citizens to explore and develop in any project there want. Where the economy is stable without an inflation or economic crisis and also were the government provide the necessary social amenities for citizens.

I think the ideal society for me is a society with a good leader and good followers. Being a leader for me is in the meaning of being a kind leader and equal to his followers. Even though the people could follow him all the time, he must make sure not to take advantage of his society for society to follow him and won't have a rebellion to him. An ideal society means a great hierarchy with a great vision.

Does not matter because what makes me happy might not make other happy.

Do you think that we can be happy only with material things or when our personal desires are fulfilled?
It seems that you are talking about personal happiness only here but what about happiness in society or in the world?
Don't you think that we should have some common, national goals as well?

You remind me of one of the scripture saying and gist of message is as follows.

Q: What work should I do?
A: Before doing any work, you should ask yourself whether your work will help the society? If answer is "Yes" then you should do that work if answer is no, then you should  check  whether it hill help your family? If answer is "Yes" then you should do that work if answer is no, them see if it benefits you?

Any work that is negatively impacting the society and family should not be undertaken at all.

(I do not know exact words, but the idea is from book Bhagwad gita.)

The ideal society for me is that there will be one leader to rule the entire country.

And that guy should have the political will and care to his people. His attitude should be no one should be left behind. But thinking of the 'ideal' society seems to be a fairy tale for me. I've seen good leaders but people aren't even cooperating and that ideal society can't even exist because of few people that don't want an ideal one.

Let me tell you a bit about the problems of an imperfect society first.

I have a very fortunate opportunity to live in a place called Kolkata. I was born here and I have been residing here for the past 28 years of my existence.

But there has been little to no development in this place in a so called 'developing country' that is supposed to be the potential superpower of the future.

A simple gust of wind gets categorized as a storm and it disconnects our power supply.
A simple stone pelted at the wrong direction incites a communal riot whose basis is religion. That's right! We're in 2019 and still fighting over who has the best imaginary friend living in the clouds.

There are real life versions of people like Baddecker who have all the money and influence that comes with it - and with that power, they shape our society where the rich continue getting richer and the poor keeps struggling.

An ideal society? Give me a society that has solved these basic issues, that'd be a long shot from being ideal but it'll be far better than what the reality is right now.

Well beside bitcoin that is helping people the same time as altcoin, that I could wish this will be the only currency running.

Focusing and speaking for bitcoin who actually ask as an main currency that could and bonus value today that increase its value and sadly decrease any time. Knowing  Bitcoin itself is now part of making tracsaction paying for some of the peoples everyday lives.

In other words I one of my ideal is that bitcoin would be a second currency to every city and country because of a more sweep tracsaction especially online and when your on the go you can just use bitcoin by a e transaction through your cellphone.

2nd is making this place every country a safer one out fro  the killings and corruptions from others and as well as the government of today. Sharing this everything today and before this modern era is and was in a cycle, a repetition the killings/people who die because of a certian group who is againts or any scenario that happend in the war of every country.

What I've realized now is there is no ideal society. You cannot make anyone happy. If there's total peace and prosperity, people would start creating bigger problems that may destroy the entire society. So the authorities needs distractions to make people contained. Let them fight as rich and poor, let them fight for religion and color, Let them fight for their favorite player or their favorite superhero. If there's not much issues, create some. Kill some innocent or fund some terrorist.

Well an ideal society is very difficult to achieve or form because for the ideal society you have to look every person suggestion and their decisions should not affect the others. But sometimes it is a very difficult process to establish an ideal because you can not make happy everyone, their are few things that some will understand and some would not. all have their own reasons for the rejection of the society decision.

But if some one have the potential to overcome all the problems then that would definitely be the ideal society.

Ideal society would be no society. Where there would be no sense of belonging. There would be no countries and no citizenship. No people, just men and women.

That would be ideal but not real...
This way it can't work because someone will have to search for food or water and at least fulfill the basic needs of the people that live in this society.
From the time that there is a need, then the sense of belonging start to exist.

I agree with you that this would be the best society to live in, but it could be never true.

Corruption. I mean in my ideal society I hope there is no corruption there are so many people that have no job because of this corruption in the government. Transparency of financial of society that is more effective when they do this, almost everyone will be in peace knowing that they know where the money spend.

IMO the ideal society is very similar to the one US ranchers live in. You buy a piece of land, build a fence and have all the right to protect it that includes shooting thieves, building whatever structure you like, spending your money the way you want. To me this is the definition of freedom. What I don't like about the EU laws is prevention instead of punishment. You are fined and prosecuted for attempting to do something, instead of being punished for doing it, which violates your basic right of choice.
I had enough of living in a society where you can get fined or jailed for protecting yourself from an assault or theft and even for cutting down a tree on your own land.

Ideal society would be that everyone has their basic needs met.

-free housing
-free food
-free school
-free healthcare

Its disturbing that America has more vacant houses than homeless people.  Its a very big problem when there are investors buying multiple homes just to let them sit empty.  I don't believe the free market should be involved with something that you need to live.

Thought experiment: all of last year's bitcoin history just happened in a parallel universe, and you all have no access to the main blockchain.
You do have the source code, and are free to start/join any blockchain you'd like.

Which block chain would you invest in? (What characteristics would you tweak from the current main blockhain?)
In fact, I guess you should keep a portfolio of coins from several different blockchains. How would you allocate that portfolio?

The main tweakable characteristic of the current chain is it's maturation time: Let's call 21,000,000 bitcoin 1 Megatoshi.
Then, the key difference between the chains is the "Megatoshi half life": the current chain has a half life of about four years - every four years the number of bitcoins not yet generated is halved. How would you diverge your portfolio in this respect? Would there be sense in investing in different blockchains with the same half life and other characteristics, or will there be only a few different chains, and no two chains will have the same intrinsic characteristics?

Note that this has a real impact on the potential growth of your chain - too short a half life (like 10 minutes) means that all the coins are generated too fast, the public doesn't have enough time to join, and your coins will essentially be worthless. A half life of a millenia means nobody can generated hardly any coin, and your coins are again worthless.

Four years seems like a magic number (another credit to Satoshi's brilliance), but I'm wondering if in this thought experiment you would want to diversify at all. Perhaps even in this case the masses will converge into a single block chain, simply for the added security in masses that the dominant blockchain conveys.

One that is for the people, by the people

1. one with decentralized voting built into it, so we can vote on issues rather voting people to vote for us. (unlimited jobs created for when robots take over, universal basic income)
2. one where the tx fees go to support global projects (garbage, hospitals, self sustaining farms, back up housing for the people in natural disasters, food for the working class, gas for the working class and the decentralized voting allows us the people to say where our taxes go)
3. one with a fairly distributed supply (weather it be equal hashing power to all users on the network or duration dispensed into unique address verified by picture and fingerprint via file sharing, we can use populations? if don`t unite and people still want government instead of changing their own diapers)
4. one with a built in exchange p2p trading(these banks getting "hacked" then getting bailed out by other banks or governments need to stop)
5. one that people would not trade for the current fiat because it is the new fiat (I will be the first to accept it for food on my farm cherries, peaches etc AKA "the bitcoin pizza")
6. one that does leave our future generations enslaved because we mined it all before them (we all should start the race equally no matter if we are born later in life, bitcoin is a 100% premine to anyone being born after 2025 pretty much and watch the ending of huntercoin on youtube the simulation of what happens, at a 100m dash race do you start early because you showed up early?)
7. one that is not another mans money supply, but everyone creates the supply so it is everyone's (FREEDOM)
8. one that is not so harsh on the environment and power usage but instead uses the power for a good use and does not create waste (the power in btc could feed millions)
9. one that the united nations united to become the "united nation" to create because they are the people to do this and make it work slowly I mean they got unlimited funds already. (and no one needs to give up anything they already own)
10. I would not need another one

I guess us Germans can put it behind and forgive you to  ;D, Water under the bridge brothers.
Oh, Can we also allow woman to not be forced to wear a shirt over their nipples I mean equality #freetheboob2020 come on there is African tribes that seem fine without that silly law. Plus boobs release stress just by looking at them.  ;D There would be a lot less people doing church shootings or blowing up mosque and synagogues if they were looking at some boobs on the drive over. I mean that should be up to the ladies if they want to show them or not, just like us men can. Well lets take a public poll!

I would give half of my income to satoshi each time I got some or earned some, he or she or them deserve it, they gave the bankers and governments a out, no one needs to die, and we can start focusing on space exploration that is another unlimited job or what were going to do when that sun burns out. Instead us killing each other we can take on problems like a alien invasion, climate change, space exploration, poverty, homelessness, sea exploration, building back up housing for when a hurricane hits. We already have a common enemy new world order, it is the sun burning out on us and natural disasters!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5135915.0 refer to this post for the solutions no I am not trying get you to buy anything, just look at the tech and think about. We are all the same species and same race, us Humans need to work together.

You ever see how land is created? A real fountain, One where the bottom gets reinforced before the top, trickle up economics, the top never falls then like a game of jenga that ends the same way everytime, just look at history  ::)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmIdUkfgt64 This is how land is made.

Something like this, Where your vote actually matters. People unite and respect the 51% rule even if they vote against something. Otherwise they are free to leave the system.
Instead of the money system as we know it, we have a fairly disturbed currency for once, not just for people who got in early. Even people being born later in life should be able to obtain wealth from nature. When we start a 100m race everyone starts at the same time not because they showed up early. One where all people are all given a fair chance to enterprise.

Tribes get something from nature and always do returns the favor.

Tribes are helping individuals from their community to keep the foundation solid.

In short what I also want is a respectful and helping community who actually lives in good harmony.

A common response for these types of questions is usually one that involves everyone being on a level playing field, having enough money and resources to live comfortably, in a world without war, hunger or violence. While these ideas sound good on paper, we have seen through history how attempting to run a nation this way, let alone an entire world, is dangerous and does not end well.

People tend to overlook the benefits of having inequalities in society, to have the "haves" and "have nots", of having war and violence.
If everyone could be a "have", and live comfortably and peacefully no matter their job or education level, there would be no drive for self-improvement, and no motivation to climb the ranks and be successful. It is this this drive to succeed that gives us innovation and improvement.
To live with the dangers of not succeeding as essential, as fear, whether it is fear of powerful nations, to fear of hunger, that drives and motivates.

Interesting opinion.
I think that people focus to much on personal comfort and satisfaction, to fulfill personal wishes, well-being etc.
We should also focus on the community and family as well.
Important things in life are also personal security, happiness, to find meaning in life, live for the sake of others etc.
If more people will live in such way we will gradually create ideal society.

An ideal world should be a much more helping, friendly environment compared to today's society. Where all individuals have the tendency to be rude, competitive, selfish, judgmental and hostile. In an ideal world, the majority of these tendencies would not exist at all)

There are only ideals but no utopias. It's pretty much impossible with the way we are being humans. Many tried and failed horribly to bring about a "perfect society".

I ain't asking for much but these would be the minimum for me.

1. Property rights - a person should be able to keep what he worked for not taxed excessively.
2. Equal rights - everyone have the same legal rights. No special privileges for being a member of a certain ethnicity or religion.
3. Decent public healthcare and education - it don't even have to be completely free but it would good to have some safety net.

Equality in opportunities, not outcome. Inequality will always be present, even in places when people claim to be against it.

I think what matters is the degree of inequality. When you have only a small amount of the population living comfortably and the rest is miserable, then there's something wrong. Either the majority is being exploited or the elite has found a resource to exploit and kept it all to themselves. I always see Americans complain about inequality. They've probably never been to the more destitute parts of Asia or Africa to see what inequality is.

This sounds good, but creates disincentives to work and be a productive member of society. If all of these needs are met, why would someone work?

Providing all of the above is not only expensive, but it will lead to very few people having adequate of the above because there are not enough people working to produce the above.

In general, few people will intentionally have their property sitting vacant. Most people who invest in real estate will attempt to find tenants willing to pay rent who can produce income for the investor until he sells the property.

Some are also socially isolated because they are members of lower caste.

Altho an ideal society does not exist and probably never will, because the world is in constant change, i would imagine it would be something in the middle of socialism and nationalism. Going too far on the one side of the pendulum creates a opportunity for radicals to seize power. One side acquiring too much power will radicalize the other side as well and thus we will get large scale protests and eventually a civil war if one side is ignored for too long.

An ideal world should be a much more helping, friendly environment compared to today's society. Where all individuals have the tendency to be rude, competitive, selfish, judgmental and hostile. In an ideal world, the majority of these tendencies would not exist at all)
Governments need to make that kind of environment if they want this ideal society but they won't allow this to happen because politicians can't stay profitable if we have good society to live.
