RingCT (Ring Confidential Transactions) technology hides the sender and recipient data, as well as amounts, for all transactions in blockchain. This technology allows full confidentiality for each member of the network.

POS-algorithm allows any member of the network to participate in the process of generating new blocks and validating transactions to receive rewards. For hot staking, the user needs to keep their wallet online, while cold staking allows funds to be offline while a remote node stakes for you.

Bitcoin Confidential is the only Bitcoin code based 100% anonymous spending cryptocurrency. This makes it easier to adopt in exchanges and 3rd parties than cryptonote based coins.

Bitcoin Confidential creates a new class of privacy coins, allowing all coins to be fungible and any member of the network to keep their privacy. Unlike other privacy coins with limited privacy features, Bitcoin Confidential has 100% anonymous transactions. Bitcoin Confidential has privacy enabled all the way from the first block. Bitcoin Confidential combines various functions to embody privacy from the first day for each user. Since privacy is an important part for any person, all people should be able to use “equally” valuable coins. Transaction history, recipient, and sender should not play a role when it comes to the value of coins. Bitcoin Confidential removes the boundaries between “these” and “other” coins by using RingCT technology to hide transaction data and privacy from the first block.

Airdrop

A portion of the overall Bitcoin Confidential supply is initially distributed by airdrop to SmartCash users. Announcing the 1.0.1 Bitcoin Confidential release.

We have made many updates to make Bitcoin Confidential easier to use and work better.  This release changes the way the wallet.dat files work and defaults to mnemonic phrase creating of wallets.  We have made improvements to connecting and updated seeds to work correctly with IPV6 along with locking in chain parameters to help wallets with their initial sync.

This release will help answer the big question, when will I get a stake reward.  Check out the status tab and you will see the reward frequency estimate specific to the amount of coins you are hot or cold staking.  The stake splitting is also changing from 10k BC to 100K BC which will make stake rewards more consistent for those staking with more than 100k BC.  Wallets are not created by default, but for staking nodes we offer a script to download a wallet, create a wallet.dat, and show a stake address here:  https://github.com/Bitcoin-Confidential/BC-Script

We recommend creating new wallets with a mnemonic phrase and sending from from 1.0.0 wallets to the new 1.0.1 wallet.  This will allow simple wallet recovery with a mnemonic phrase.  This will also reset the stake sizes to the correct splits amount for more consistent staking rewards.  We will have a guide on transitioning from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1. released tomorrow.  (1.0.0 wallets can't be imported into 1.0.1 and seed phrases(if you did manually create one in 1.0.0) are not compatible between wallets.  Also imported keys will not be backed up with a seed recovery.)

Announcing Bitcoin Confidential Release 1.0.2

We have a new release to fix some minor issues and make the mnemonic wallet creation process much easier to understand. We have also added logical error messages for reasons why a staking node is not staking.

Please follow the guide on the release notes for upgrading from 1.0.0. Upgrades from 1.0.1 can just run installer or replace the binaries. Always a good idea to backup before updating. With wallet open, File - Backup Wallet.
