MATIC Token Ecosystem

• The Matic token is used to stake in order to participate in the Proof of Stake consensus mechanism of the network of sidechains.

• Each time a transaction happens, a small percentage of transaction fees will be kept and reserved in-protocol to support the projects building for enhancing Matic Ecosystem and will be disbursed using on-chain governance.

Treasury & Strategy

As per their risk management strategy, Matic plans to perpetually hold sufficient fiat reserves to fund their operational costs for at least 12 months. The rest of any funds held in crypto will be stored in cold wallets with multisig support.


Token Overview & Use Cases

The MATIC token has three key use cases:
• Participating in the Proof of Stake consensus: Matic sidechains enforce consensus using a Proof of Stake (PoS) layer in which network participants stake Matic tokens in order to participate as validators.
• Paying for the transaction fees in the network: The transaction fees on Matic sidechains are paid in MATIC tokens. The more users onboard to use the apps on Matic Network, the more the transaction volume and hence the transaction fees.
• Having taken inspiration from Livepeer and its "protocol funding the ecosystem" model, Matic intends to enable a separate staking mechanism for supporting the ecosystem projects. This will help create a fund out of the "block rewards" that can help support developers working on features and dApps needed by the network to get a part of block rewards. This mechanism is funded by reserving a percentage of the transaction fees in-protocol to support the projects building for enhancing Matic Ecosystem.


By Q1 2019, some of the projects built on top of Matic included:
• A Burner wallet (friction-free mechanism to move tokens quickly through a web browser interface and withdraw out to cold storage when complete) implementation for onboarding users to dApps with one-use wallets
• An upcoming games platform
• A marketplace for NFT assets
• A VR game
• An advertisement exchange
• Others still in development


Commercial Partnership and Business Development Progress

Matic has already partnered with several blockchain projects, including the following:

• Decentraland: Decentraland is a virtual reality platform powered by the Ethereum blockchain. Users can create, experience, and monetize content and applications using a developer toolkit that works on any platform (all VR headsets and web browsers) and is designed to create virtual environments and applications. Matic is collaborating with Decentraland to scale the transactions that will occur as a result of user interactions within the virtual universe. This will include payments, NFT sales and eventually general game states and other data.

• Quarkchain: QuarkChain is an innovative permissionless blockchain architecture that aims to provide a secure, decentralized, and scalable blockchain solution. Matic Network and Quarkchain intend to collaborate on L2 scaling research by exploring and developing Plasma sidechain solutions on top of Quarkchain. Matic will also be working with Quarkchain to build notification services like Dagger and Mobile Wallet capabilities for Quarkchain.

• Ankr Network: Ankr is a distributed computing platform that aims to leverage idle computing resources in data centers and edge devices. Matic will collaborate with Ankr to explore building a decentralized web 3 stack in which Ankr can provide Distributed Cloud Computing services for Decentralized Application Development on the Matic Network.

• Portis: Portis is a technology company that wants to make sure any person in the world can use decentralized applications, just as easily as they use "regular" apps.Matic is working with Portis to help these dApps using Portis achieve scale and an enhanced user experience.

• Maker DAO: Maker is the organization behind the DAI Stablecoin. Matic Network is partnering with MakerDAO to explore and jointly support teams for the development of dApps which use DAI on Matic Network sidechains. Matic Network intends to integrate DAI as the first ERC-20 token on Matic sidechains.

• Ripio Credit Network: Ripio Credit Network is a peer to peer credit network that connects lenders and borrowers located anywhere in the world.Matic is working with Ripio to enable Micro loans on its plasma sidechains. Matic along with RCN is also researching faster plasma exits where exit NFT’s will be used as collateral for loans on the RCN platform.

Today i have checked their trading volume which is quite high above the ETH coin, i don't why people are showing a lot of interest towards the Matic coin, only because their IEO launched on Binance exchange. Most of the coins launched IEO in Binance exchange has increased their price highly and generating very good volumes.

It will not be so long dude, the pattern has shown we will face another bearish trend very soon. believe me some days later and you will see bearish trend happened with another altcoin was getting bullish trend. this is the time for matic to go back again to its initial price before matic got a pump from the whales. I have sold all of my matic and then put my order at the bottom.

MATIC has already had incredible gains.  After the expected correction it has stabilized and is already rising at a greater rate than btc AGAIN....

And this coin is relatively UNKNOWN.

Expect another stratospheric rise once it's name recognition increases.  And of course this will happen with the coinbase listing that is about to happen.

It has contributed and i guess you should give a red marker to the contributed word. But you must read the whole of thread carefully and that's already mentioned if this project is still in the testnet and that means there will be a main net in the future. It much better to talk with the team directly through its telegram group.

Main Net coming in SEPTEMBER

Price is recovering nicely from the correction.

I expect new highs in the next month or two.

ChainLink Oracles See Future On Matic Network

Oracles allow smart contracts to develop real-world use cases

Smart contracts are getting a bit…smarter. Yesterday oracle provider ChainLink (LINK) struck a partnership with Matic Network (MATIC), a layer two protocol to speed up payments on Ethereum (ETH).

The ongoing collaboration will allow smart contracts on Matic to leverage ChainLink’s decentralized oracle network. That will enable any and all applications to use data collected from the real world in a secure and decentralized way.

As part of the agreement, ChainLink will create an adapter for off-chain data feeds, which developers can then integrate into Matic contracts.“DApp developers on Matic want easy and dev-friendly access to oracles,” explained Matic co-founder Anurag Arjun. Once live, these feeds can be monitored and used to execute a contract automatically.

Matic uses Plasma sidechains in order to speed up transactions and lower costs. The project aims to become the principal scaling solution for Ethereum dApps, and Matic also has plans to expand onto other blockchains.

Matic CEO Jaynti Kanani highlighted in a blog post that Coinbase Ventures, the exchange’s VC arm, had invested in its seed round. The project held an IEO on Binance Launchpad earlier this year.

In many respects, these oracles could give smart contract writers the best of both the real and virtual worlds. On one hand, ChainLink provides external data for smart contracts to interact with the real world and develop stronger use-cases for adoption.

On the other, it’s a decentralized network which incentivizes accurate data reporting by rewarding data providers in LINK tokens, which are forfeited if the information turns out to be false or distorted.

ChainLink is slowly establishing itself as the go-to provider for data feeds. Although its mainnet launched on Ethereum only two weeks ago, the company had already announced partnerships with the DAG-based networks Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR) and IOST in early May.

All these collaborations are slowly beginning to provide developers with access to real-world data, demonstrating the relevance and value of smart contracts to businesses. That could, quite literally, bring blockchain to the real world.

You are right, previously after they IEO most of the coins pumped vary hugely and now they are trading at low value. Matic is one of them, which is actively trading and increasing its value from the past two weeks. Which we don't know exactly what is happening in the background.

Someone can claim no more than 5 tickets and that should be around $1500

there is no doubt if all of the coins that come from the team which is owned a lot of tokens. Where is more than 380 million worth of matic coming from? I also never heard if matic did a pre-sale before it listed on the binance launchpad.

They're still being dumped, Matic made the most gains hence lost the most. No one really knows what's going on, It could be whales playing everyone or team tokens are being unloaded.

This exchange is normal, but nonetheless this is a way for the coin to rise in the near future and hope that the altcoin season can make MATIC reach new prices this year. I have made a profit from this coin in the past and will definitely invest it again if the demand for investment in this coin increases. Of course, it will take time to do this but MATIC is a good coin for you to consider investing.

In fact, altcoin season is causing almost all altcoins available in this market to rise sharply in recent weeks. I think Matic is a good long-term investment option because in the past this coin was chosen by a lot of people and some large investors decided to hold it for a long time. Not sure about the future of this project because any altcoin is very much dependent on the investor and no matter how potential the project is, when the market collapses you will lose money here. After a period of price hike in the past, MATIC wasn't very impressed with me and I sold it all in search of a better new project. Of course, I would still consider investing again if the coin was below IEO price.

I feel we are yet to explore the vast potentials of nft and games in blockchain because this two will take a bigger part of this ecosystem as time passes, and most especially we have projects like polygon matic to create this enabling environment for such arts to happen, they are really pushing hard to create a well known brand, developers will be most excited with this new development, this is one among top projects to consider for long term basis.

Trying to get into the gaming scene on L2 now,,, any suggestions on which I should look at? And how exactly can I find a list of all of them? Glad to see that binance was completing the integration for polygon and that means any polygon asset can be listed or supported by binance. This is a great news for the all of polygon users especially the defi and NFT developers on polygon.

great to see that we have several options now how to avoid excessive fees when trading with tokens. but just realised that the matic announcement here is just full of texts without any visual images. and the op who posted has only few activities. but their project is considerably strong competing with top platforms like eth. you can't really judge a certain project by what it shows in the public. you'll never know their potential.

The audit company Ernst & Young has added support for the Polygon protocol and framework when developing its own solutions based on Ethereum, it is also reported that it is working with Polygon developers to create private blockchains using Rollups.

Hi guys,,, I asked previously but no one answered, I have tried looking on all Polygon website and see no answer there.

Do you have a portal to mint NFTs on Ethereum,,, which means making ERC721 tokens on ETH network,,, but using Matic bridge on Polygon and could you show me a guide link?

Maybe I am not phrasing it correctly but the idea is to mint 100s of NFTs but without paying the high gas fees.

I use https://anyswap.exchange/#/bridge to do that, with estimated time of waiting token arrival to bsc mainnet in about 10-30 min.
There are another, but in the first time, I use this exchange as manye people on bounty group said to do that at there and the process is easy.
