Title: Will Binance get closed down?
Post by: jamesashmore1964 on April 25, 2019, 07:58:33 AM
The Fed has closed down exchanges in other jurisdictions in the past. Binance has US customers: This is a NO NO. Craig Wright is no fool and wants Binance out of the picture. Be aware! Maybe hell is coming to Binance: Use them but don’t hold your bags with them: Binance is Malta based but is breaking US Laws and if you think for 5 minutes that the US regulators are not going to take them out you are foolish: Wall Street need Binance and these rogue exchanges out of the way. CZ could do prison time! I would not want to be in his shoes! Binance could be deemed as a money launderer and a tool for terrorism. US regulators and law enforcement have Binance on their radar and will make a move! Opinion!

I cannot imagine that Binance will close their exchange, because it is the biggest, the most popular exchange with the largest trading volume that is not faked. The can ask US customers to close their accounts, but nothing more.

Binance operates its licence in Malta. So why should that affect it? With its innovation and security, I don't think Wright's whining will do it any harm. BTW, if push comes to shove the American customers might be asked to withdraw their patronage and that won't shake the exchange an inch. Binance is a strong viable exchange. I don't have any worries about them.

Every opinion is truth and error is not fully then to be vigilant it must still be there because it is disappointed that it always comes at the end not in front, and many traders who use binance only to seek profits not to save their balance.

Binance is not like any other exchange around. Balance is a top exchange and has been around for sometimes now so I really that if it would be easy to close it down so fast and easy

As already said, Binance has its HQ in Malta. It has to obey by the laws of the European Union. So, no problems there. I'm not a fan of Binance though. It is too big and at some point it could pose a problem to the entire crypto sphere, much like Mt Gox was in the past. I'm rooting for decentralized exchanges to replace these centralized monsters.

things that in my opinion never happened.  just imagine thousands and even millions of dollars in binance, is it possible to close binance, soon the BNB will make the blockchain itself and that is good news for binance and BNB investors

You are underestimating the power of the US. They caught the CEO of btc-e.com in Greece and shut down btc-e.com.

USA basically owns every .com domain out there. If you commit a crime while using a .com domain they can find and jail you no matter where you live.

Binance uses a .com domain. If they find out something fishy about them, USA can indeed shut binance down.

I hope binance can make this things clear and prevent from accepting US citizen to enter their business as they are one of the most potentially among the exchanges now to have a bright future

Then people should also be scared of something fishy going on with Coinbase, Kraken, Bitfinex, etc, since they all use .com domains. Truth is, it's very unlikely that these big exchanges would ever do something "fishy", they know what happened with btc-e, they won't perform a money laundering schemes or any of that, these guys are smart (unlike the guy from btc-e), stakes are too high and it's way too risky when you're operating a multi million dollar business.

This is a FUD and I feel you are with Wright to have come up with such submission. Binance is not in the USA. If the US government don't want their citizens to trade with Binance anymore, US citizens can be given a time to withdraw their fund and the exchange continues. More so, I have not seen any wrong doing by Binance. To delist Bitcoin Satohi Vision is their exclusive right and they own no one no apology for that.

Is this statement only to make us fear or watch out?
Binance, I think one of the best and biggest exchanges in the crypto world. Can it close down? If there are no very crucial and big factors, it will be probably impossible (although we cannot predict what will happen tomorrow). Many people consider that Binance is the trusted exchange and be number one with its high security, trading volume, traffic, and others. If it is closed down, it will really influence the other exchanges. I cannot predict it will be okay or not.

You are asking for opinion, I guess this is just FUD since binance is really succeeding its way, many more expected news to comes up against them, but for our own safety we also need to consider facts that can happen along the way, if the US government intervene with this platform there's no such ways to prevent the rulings of this superpower country, be very vigilant and make sure to be well informed from time to time.

Binance doesn't trade fiat currencies, does it?

The UK can only close you down if you are trading dollars. Btc-e for example was an unlicenced exchange using dollars.

Sucks to live in the US and not be able to just use any exchange, like we in Europe do.

Closing binance will have major effect on the cryptocurrency world. It can cause a major upset that will affect all cryptocurrency prices as it is the number one exchange for trading currently. I can't see it happening to be honest. Binance isn't under the jurisdiction of the USA so closing binance is a dream.

Binance is actually growing and it remains the best altcoin this year in terms of performance and grow.  I have see new developments and the fed is not making any move against binance.  I think the cryptocurrencies market is been attacked by governments and financial regulatory authority but that do not mean only binance will be selected for shutting down.

Anything is possible as long as there's enough money and power involved.

No organization in the US, not even Congress, messes with the Fed. Because nobody messes with private banks.

So if these folks decide to wage a war on crypto, it's going to be ugly. It could include attacks on exchanges as well.

Bittrex now has a International version made for non-US customers. So exchanges always have a way to comply.

With Binance every legal measures were met and has been fulfilled. What's more required than this, the progress of Binance in comparison to other exchange seems to be very big. For this reason some could have come up with such statements to create fear among the common traders and make them move towards other exchanges for their trading needs.

Hmmm.... Binance has done no harm than to delist Bitcoin satoshi vision and to allow registrations and trading by US citizens. If The Feds are concerned about their citizens they can simply prevent them from trading on binance and can ask binance to stop registration coming from the United States, while old participants are given time to withdraw their tokens and close their accounts

every exchange like Binance will be closed down sooner or later, it can happen by a government kicking their doors down or it can happen with a hacker emptying their wallets or the most common case is where they scam their users themselves.
but there is no way you can predict when that is going to start happening. only thing that you can do is to see the signs and get out if you are lucky.
it will not have anything to do with the shitcoin known as BSV though.

That FED is no more in the picture, does not mean that Binance will be affected. As a matter of fact, that will be a hard thing to happen.
Well, they might be sanxtioned and be made to pay some amount of money. I just feel Binance should be more careful in  future, because a lot of investors have come to trust them.

Binans has long been doing everything to ensure that law enforcement agencies of the United States of America have no complaints about it. That is why it is forbidden to participate in an IEO for people whose countries are under US sanctions.

I hope binance can make this things clear and prevent from accepting US citizen to enter their business as they are one of the most potentially among the exchanges now to have a bright future

Craig Wright will never stop to get revenge from delisting His coin from the binance platform

I believe Craig Wright alone can't do the miracle of shutting down Binance just like that.
A big exchange like Binance have their own legal team that will make sure that they are following protocols especially US laws and regulations.
With the continuous whining of Wright, it just shows how he turned out to be a laughing stock in the crypto community.
Are we expecting another drama from his end? When will he gonna stop all his media stunts?

Use them but don’t hold your bags with them: Opinion
Always remember this to all exchanges ans web wallets. Don't be so sure to keep most of your funds where you don't hold your private keys.  You should keep your coins somewhere that you also keep the private keys to have control on it.

The fed should first give warnings before they can close it down, if there is a violation they should be fine, but not close at once, we are talking of big business here, it's not the way how it works, and besides, the violation is not that so serious for immediate closure, there should be hearing first.

Yes, Binance really becomes some kind of crypto-monopoly giant. However, I think that it is impossible to just close such a giant.

Binance dosent have anything to do with US because they don’t operate from there and also they have there license. The team thought of this in time past and made all corrections to what could lead to this. Binance won’t shut down because of Craig and they are not doing or violating any rules so for now they won’t shut down.

Binance can never be closed.
And you should watch your words and do some research before saying anything about any reputable sites or exchanges.
I mean many people's life rely on that exchange who choose trading as their main profession.
Also you need to understand when does a site closes or what are the circumstances that can led to the closing of a reputable site.
Hope you understand now.

I doubt there will be a disaster on cryptocurrency industry if this ever happens. Just imagine an exchange, a high performing exchange listed on top among the exchanges shuts down by the outside group, that would be problem for most of the trader having Binance as a main exchange. Perhaps, Securities and Exchange Commission could really come after the binance however there will be a great adjustment like time for all user withdrawal and some retail cryptocurrency brokerage firm will be affected like eToro (https://www.etoro.com) and Bittreo (https://exchange.bittreo.com/?utm_source=ccexchange) since their spot pricing depends on binance. However, this matter will be in deep study by SEC and as i have said Binance is a great performing exchange compared to others under safe and legal standards and shutting it down will be a great loss for them also.

I do not think that it will going to.happen to Binance that easily. There might be some exchanges that will be closing down due to the fact that they are faking volumes on it to attract more users to use in their platform or.exchange.

More so I don't  think binance will disobey and indulges in any form of illegality that will warrant it closure by the US government they (binance) will operate within the sovereignty and control of the US government that is if they are allowed to operate there,  to avoid any sanction however its very advisable to always hodl a large chunk of coins in a hardware wallet ie. bulk of the coins shouldn't be hodl in any exchange despite the credibility of that exchange because exchanges are liable to hacking nowadays.

Binance has a possibility to close down for being operating on US. But, Can't they just move other country? Also, if they pay tax to the goverment, I don't think they will be forced to shut their operation down as they will give extra money to the goverment. So my opinion, it's possible but not now, maybe later if Binance has a financial problems and not the most favoured exchange anymore.

Because of their launchpad program they are very much stablize in the marketplace. When there any new tokens from the IEO automatically their own coin BNB raising in the marketplace.
That too other exchanges giving low rate than binance so price also increase because of demand and supply theory.

Binance is a Chinese company with offices on Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Malta. Though they'd try everything to get accepted in fiat money transfers worldwide, they'd never step down under any pressure from US or European authorities. Though it may hurt their business a lot, Binance still has a huge volume coming in from East Asia.

Binans is a very large exchange for today, with quite serious capitals and plans,it will not be so easy to close it,even if they want to,so it's definitely a pitchfork on the water drive,I'm sure that everything will be fine with the project, and the price of the token will only rise up and up

Binance is really proving that they will be one of the most influential companies in the crypto market today. With slow and steady steps like step by step creating the fomo IEO, next is Binance DEX. I believe Binacne will soon IPO in the future

Opinion!

I do not see the possibility of this at all. Binance get shut down? Hmmm.. That will be a very big blow cos binance is considered oneif not number one trusted exchange in the crypto space.

As far as I know, binance has not failed any law for the federal government to shut it down. If you think that binance will be shut down because of Craig Wright then youhave the wrong thinking
I don't believe that such a thing can happen. Of course, the fight against terrorism is a weighty argument for sanctions. But I think that an exchange like Beenans has a strong team of lawyers.
It's possible that the develops to its own network will make it more difficult for regulators the control over the traders, and this is the reason for this negative news.

I cannot imagine that Binance will close their exchange, because it is the biggest, the most popular exchange with the largest trading volume that is not faked. The can ask US customers to close their accounts, but nothing more.

I agree with this comment. Binance is already too big to fail. If US customers do use Binance, then the USA will not consider inflicting so much pain in this market full of Americans.

I dont think so , binance is one of the largest exchange. they will stay forever
I have never see that threat that is strong enough to pull Binance down, except it is a  decision that will be made by the CEO to do that, they have not defrauded people, they have not seized their money, they have added more value to the life if their users than the users have to them.

So many traders are making more money now in their trade because of the low trading cost they have, I think all these negative news about Binance is strictly emanating from other exchanges that are jealous of Binance because of their inability to perform well, there inability to perform well should not be picked on Binance but they need to amend in their operations.

Binance will keep looking for ways to attract more users at the same time upgrading their platform

With the prevailing mindset of the USA SEC, it is not quite remote that they can bludgeon on Binance for grounds of doing illicit business in USA. Of course, Binance has all the means available to fight back this disaster. I always believe that Binance is keeping an open line communication with the SEC on this matter as they can never allow their name and reputation to be tarnished just to be continuing business in USA...and Binance can easily sacrifice this share of the market anytime. Binance must have compliance all the time in check making sure that they are following the guidelines set by the government.

I believe that binance is a registered exchange and cannot be closed down unless they break the rules of the fed of the country they are based in, which I don't think they want to do, since a lot of funds would be lost if the exchange is eventually closed down, though anything is possible in the crypto space, and it's possible for the government of that same country to change their rules and regulation against crypto just to close down the exchange.

As long binance keep their clients assets safe, fast deposit and withrawal, keep developing, then binance won't be closed.

It hard to believe that Fed can close binance because it not US-based and US laws has no jurisdiction on it. The only ones that will be affected if the Fed decided to ban one of the biggest cryptocurrency exchange are the members that residing in the US. Binance has more members in Asia and other part of the world than in the US so it won't get affected by a possible closure.

"binance is like no other its the biggest exchange"

i was witness when MtGox got bankrupt "the biggest exchange" at that time
i was witness when Cryptsy got bankrupt "the biggest (altcoin)exchange" at that time

its not an argument!
Also "the biggest doesnt count anymore nor is it true.
There is so much competition only one-digit-% differences so the term "the biggest" has no true value anymore

At the moment BitMax is the biggest by 30d Volume

Your question is quite political with very serious conclusions.  With regard to the exchange of cryptocurrency BINANCE, we can say that things are going very well, because they let us know about it.  Perhaps there are problems that are not mentioned.  Is it possible to eliminate BINANCE.  It is impossible to completely eliminate such a development of events.  But lately the BINANCE exchange has been showing a lot of activity and development, most likely the disagreement with Craig Wright will be resolved in the near future.

It would be highly surprising.

It's the top crypto platform, they do everything they can to keep their US customer base.

So long as Binance is not having its headquarters in America, it will be difficult for the American government to close it down. The worst they can do is to order all American citizens to withdraw their funds, which will not have so much negative impact on the Binance exchange

Opinion!

They making move to Malte for removing complicated regulation, especially from US. If by any chance US got their hands of Binance, Binance will just don't accept US customer then.

But i don't know, if US really make binance opt US customer, it's a bad sign..but then again people still use BITMEX with VPN.

Of course, do not put all eggs in one basket. And main thing do not use exchange as a wallet to keep your coins.
There are a lot of safe alternatives to that, be smart

Absolutely any exchanges can be blamed for money laundering only for the reason that cryptocurrency wallets are not tied to specific people or campaigns. In general, cryptocurrencies were created by anonymous, and who does not like it - can not trade them.

No Binance will not get shut down out of the jurisdiction.
This is a case of the US traders need Binance and Binance does not need them, they have a global reach.
Come to even think of it, Binance has moved their base to Malta that is more crypto friendly, and I don’t think US will be able to influence any decision Malta has made to accommodate them legally.

This move on Binance is just a way to bring them down and break the monopoly attribute many people claim that they are exhibiting which di must confess that I have not seen one, I am not being biased, it is just the truth, I don’t think Binance has gone out of their limit, Binance team are too intelligent and humble to break the law, so US are the ones that need people like Binance more to add value to their economy.

I cannot imagine that Binance will close their exchange, because it is the biggest, the most popular exchange with the largest trading volume that is not faked. The can ask US customers to close their accounts, but nothing more.
me too, Binance is a miracle, in my opinion. every new coin that successfully enters the Binance list will definitely Pump. I really hope Binance can survive even when US government intervention gets stronger.

Any exchange can be accused of money laundering and fraud. They all do what they please, cheat, wind up trading volumes, do not follow the flow of money. However, at the moment it does not scare me.
Cryptocurrencies are outside the law in many countries, so the exchanges will be in the same position.

This is something that everyone has to realize! Not only in online services but even in crypto itself. Far too many people are buying altcoins that are also under the control of one entity. I admit I even bought Litecoin when Charlie Lee was in charge but I'm glad he no longer is. The sooner Ethereum also stops relying on Vitalik Buterin for its future the better. Binance will of course never be owned by many.

This being under a single entity doesn't ruin the reputation when it is completely away from the single entity's control. One of the developer is Vitalik and the same doesn't mean the network is completely relying on him. Binance too the same, the continued development is the reason for the growth, now they're focused on creating their blockchain as well the decentralized exchange adds more value to BNB.

They've launched new innovations that others are now following suit. I believe if anything closing down is going to happen, they already see it and probably a backup solution is in place. As big as this exchange is, if it gets shut down, the whole market will be down. Am not ready for another long bear.

Apparently the binance will achieve good results, especially considering the current popularity of the coin.  But I do not like the fact that the administration will be able to control the funds of users and their accounts.  I am always worried about such moments when someone can abuse their position.

It is possible if US sees and confirmed irregularities on Binance exchange.  If they have a solid proof that Binance commiting fraud to harm its client and/or US interests.  Being backed by experts is not a guarantee that you will escape anything if you are committing fraud or other illegal stuff.  With the case stated by OP, let us just wait and watch what will happen next.  It is better to take precaution than regret later.

I hope this is unconnected to the Binance hack of $40M. However I know everything is possible in crypto, if Binance closes down, it will not be the first exchange to have done so, though it may affect the larger crypto community but it will give way for other exchanges to thrive. However untrue this may sound, it is advisable for people to always have a back up funds. Do not leave all you have on Binance or a single exchange.

You will come to know about the truth when you check the user base of Binance. Just see how many people use Binance and you would come to know that it has the most users in the whole crypto arena. Binance is like the leading exchange in the crypto space and it is going to be the monopoly in the crypto space in years to come. How could it be closed or why would people want it to close?

They will only be close if they will not refund the investors, but as their statement, they said, they got it fully covered.
Binance is still operational, though withdrawal/deposit is still not currently working (based on experience), so they continue to make profit and their SAFU funds will be funded again.

They have moved from Japan to Malta to get away from regulators as far as I remember. So I doubt that regulators can stretch their arms and force them to do KYC or at least requires users or account holders to do so. Unless Malta suddenly turns around, but I doubt that it will happen.

Binance is a unicorn company worth well over a billion dollars. I get that they'll try to get back to normal operations soon, but most governments/regulators will do everything they can to regulate and get a tax slice of that income, and they'll use this security breach as evidence that more regulation is needed.

So I hope it will be back to business as usual, but eventually they'll be pressured to consider regulations. Even if they move their head office, they could be forced to abide by rules to offer services in particular countries.

At current exchange rates, the total worth of the coins that was stolen is well above $50 million, and this is not a small amount. I am not sure about the annual turnover of Binance, but I hope that their balance sheets don't turn to red as a result of this. The collateral damage will also be there, on top of the losses from the robbery. Now Binance will be forced to set up additional security measures and hire additional staff to prevent a repetition of such incidents in the future, which is again going to put a hole in their pocket.

I'm sure that you're not the very person that will stop using Binance if they starts to require KYC.

That's why many are still using them because 2 BTC limit for a non-KYC account is still quite good for a small investor. And with the recent hack, they are still good to go. Let's see on how they will return tomorrow and how people will act on it.

This is how they built their company, no KYC at least for 2 BTC limit, which is enough for casuals and average Joe.

I'm not sure the user of binance will really leave their plarform just because it has scammed. I saw binance exchange has a power to make the user believe that this incident will be fine and everyone's assets will be replaced by him so as there is just a little maybe who decided to move their assets to another exchange although it will be usesless. Because there no exchange which have a high security until the hacker can't steal the asset on their platform. Each exchange has a gap to be hacked maybe just measure of time, but it will be good for some exchanges who has hacked because they will learn from that incident.

I'm not sure if Binance will get shut down--probably not--but I bet they're going to start requiring KYC info from at least their US-based customers.  That would suck, because it's the only reason I use Binance and not exchanges like Polo or Bittrex.  Didn't know they were out of Malta, either.  I figured them for a Chinese company.

On a related note, Binance has restored the deposit function, but customers still can't withdraw any funds.  I'll have a LOT more faith in them once they get withdrawals happening again.  I've got some coins on there that I want to move as soon as I can, and I'm not sure what the holdup is.  Binance sure as hell isn't being transparent about the reasons about that, at least not on their website.

Binance is not an exchange that can be easily closed. Every crypto trader knows about Binance and uses the exchange. This Binance may prohibit people from any country from visiting its exchange.

Binance is one of the well managed cryptocurrency company in this world today and they continue to expand and develop their site to suit their clients need so closing down or being closed down due to different reasons is unlikely. They experienced being hacked and they admitted it and yet their business is still running, this is one of the worst thing that could happen to an exchange site and yet they continue to operate. New sites are coming out and being launched but still, Binance is standing.
