Title: difference of bitcoin and bitcoin cash
Post by: neon colors on April 25, 2019, 05:38:34 PM
H I'm pretty new to crypto and I've been exploring and learning.  I was on the bitcoin.com website and bitcoin.com youtube channel and it shows the two different bitcoins.  It was saying it has lower fees and stuff so its improved bitcoin version.  Why is the other bitcoin more expensive then.

That bitcoin.com will mislead you to buy BitcoinCash. Because this is what they are shilling on that website.

BitcoinCash is not Bitcoin. It's like any other altcoin. Example: ETH, LTC and rest of the 3 thousand plus shitcoins.

Bitcoin is the real Bitcoin. So do not fall far that shitcoin (BitcoinCash aka another altcoin)

Go to CoinmarketCap and this is Bitcoin: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/

The number one is the list here: https://coinmarketcap.com/

And that shitcoin (BitcoinCash) currently in number 4 position (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/). Do not fall for it.

Because it's the original Bitcoin. And the market demand decides the value. If there are no demand for Bitcoin then there will be no demands for most of the altcoins.

Bitcoin Cash(BCH) is an altcoin that takes a different route in trying to scale the system for faster transactions(bigger blocks). Yes, transactions with BCH are quite faster for now compared to BTC and with lower fees(mostly because a lot fewer people are using BCH), but you can do faster transactions(seconds) through the Lightning Network[1] with BTC(though it's currently not ready for mass adoption). Also, with BCH, you're using a far more centralized coin, which can be a huge problem in terms of security.

Basically, currently, it's pretty much faster and cheaper transactions*for now*(BCH) vs security and decentralization(BTC)

Avoid that site Bitcoin.com at all costs.
The real bitcoin is simply "Bitcoin" not bitcoin cash or bitcoin diamond or bitcoin blue...

People on this forum will shill bitcoin over bitcoin cash, but bch does indeed have much much lower fees than bitcoin.  As much as I love btc the developers refuse to change anything and we have idiots like G. Maxwell that think higher fees are a good thing.

at the end of the day people are just going to shill whatever they are holding and everything they don't have is a scam to them.

It is simply as this: Bitcoin is the currency that was made by Satoshi. Bitcoin cash is an altcoin that was made through fork.

at the end of the day people are just going to shill whatever they are holding and everything they don't have is a scam to them.
Nah, it depends. But mostly in this forum doesn't like forked coins and consider it as a shitcoin.

If you understand what hard fork is your would not be in confusion right now
Bitcoin cash was created as a result of the hard fork on bitcoin

Good to know that you post at-least means that Bitcoin is not BitcoinCash. BitcoinCash is an altcoin PERIOD

Don't believe everything you read. They are doing their best to convince newbies that BCH is the same as BTC and even better since it is, according to them, created to solve bitcoin's known problems.

The prices on CMC is the best proof that there is no comparison between BTC and BCH.

You sound like an idiot, when netflix was released blockbuster had a total marketcap, when the iphone came out blackberry had a larger marketshare.

You know who the real stupid is? The real stupid is the person who thinks that by increasing block size from 1mb to 8mb he is going to solve the scalability problem.

I am not holding any bitcoins, but I believe BCH is not the solution.

Who cares about shitcoins that will die out with time.
They only survive on hype, once the hype dies down, People will forget about them... Bitcoin on the contrary, has stood the test of time

Title: claiming bitcoin cash

I still haven't got round to claiming my Bitcoin Cash coins from the fork. I've probably left it too late. I put it off because I didn't want to run yet another node.

You can always just use a SPV wallet to claim your BCH without having to download the whole coin’s blockchain and run a node just for that.

My problem was in securing the coins on the real Bitcoin blockchain. I didn't want to run the risk of leaving them vulnerable. I still haven't decided if I want to support Bitcoin Cash. I'm more interested in Basic Attention Token, and I've been playing with Bit Blocks. I won't have much to claim, and if I am going to do the work to claim them, it will be because I want to use B Cash, but I'm still not convinced that it is viable in the long term. There seems to be too much controversy surrounding it. Also, as has been mentioned, it is pretending to be the real Bitcoin, and it isn't - that seems to be a bit scammy to me.
