Title: I lost my btc on fairlay and they don't want it give back.
Post by: ntierr on April 26, 2019, 04:04:51 AM
I deposited btc on fairlay and bet for csgo match. I have bet on team A and when they have won I refreshed and the bet was on team B. My money is gone, support talking that they cannot do anything and that's my fault that I had mistake and just wrong betted. When I want to contact with the owner they want to pay them some btc for every message..
What I need to do to get my money back

Get a grip yourself first. If you are betting and you are not sure about what you are actually doing then dont do it. You may lose money if you bet on the wrong team and there is no fault of the casinos owners in this. The fault lies on your shoulders. If you are not taking responsibility of your own bets then nobody will.

Did you even try talking to their support? If it was really your wrong bet then you wont get anything back. Its all in the TnC and what I said above.

Did you bet on team A and refreshed it before the bet was placed?

Or you wrongly clicked B and trying to change by refreshing the page?

I Guess you did wrong bet then tried to change it which is not possible so you lost it.

It is difficult to determine that you did not make a mistake that you might have made, in a bet it is clear that if you make the wrong choice then you will lose your bet, and it is difficult to be able to take action that can return your bet.
Concerned about the event you experienced, hopefully it can become learning.

Yeah I know it's difficulty but I don't know how to prove it... and I didn't made wrong choice but something changed my choice on other one.. I was looking at bet before and was 100% sure I will bet on team A and I did that..

Based on the information, I've read on the thread. You don't have any proof to justify the fact that you didn't make an error in betting. It's one thing to feel you did something right and another to actually do it right. You may have unintentionally inputted the wrong information.

But how I can proof when I was betting it was on team A  and after I refreshed it was on team B

This. I really haven't seen Fairlay's current user interface, but do you think it's likely that you just fat fingered the wrong team? That simply might have been your problem. I've always thought of Fairlay to be pretty reputable, but then I really don't know as I've never used it.

But how I can proof when I was betting it was on team A  and after I refreshed it was on team B
So you refreshed and it was on Team B, can't you switch bets on Fairlay?

Theres a check box and u must check wchich team you want to win and I checked team A.
There's no option to switch or cancel bet and I checked my bet after the match with a smile on face because I have bet on team A

I think I know what you mean as I have experienced it before. When betting from the quick interface, sometimes your selection isn't reflected in the confirmation. Not just sometimes actually, a lot of times. Which is why you should always confirm yourself first for any bet.

Another thing is go to the exact exchange view (not quick bet view). There the bug doesn't show up, always click best odds, and then again check the details before confirming the order.

If you contacted them BEFORE event started you might have a case but if you did not... I don't see why you should be refunded. Just my opinion.

It's your responsibility to ensure you placed the right bet... And rightly so.

Problem is, the burden of proof is on you.

Computers do not magically change things.

There are basically two reasonable possibilities that I see.

Either the platform intentionally stole from you.
Or you made some sort of a mistake.

If you are making the claim that the platform intentionally scammed you out of your funds, you have to have some sort of evidence of wrongdoing. Otherwise you are just wasting peoples' time.

From what I understand, You bet on team A and the bet changed after you went back to the site and you refreshed. First of all the only way to prove what you are saying is a screenshot showing you betting on team A which is something you do not have so your best bet and if you are 100% sure that you did bet on Team A is to try to talk with them but again I do not see them doing anything because without solid prove anyone can just bet and claim that the bet changed.

There is a big chance that you just miss understand the betting options and bet on the wrong team.

You have to pay to talk to the owner of the site?  Just curious, how much do they charge per message?

No, but if it had magically changed and team B actually won, would you be getting support to change your bet? As I said, I do note fairlay has this problem on the Quick Bet page (happens to me practically every bet)... but then I always manually make my bet and confirm the order.

You probably didn't check the confirmation so... you only have yourself to blame. It is a very fair point to Fairlay though, that they should really fix their bugs... the T&C does allow you 5 mins to report an issue and that's pretty fair:

"It's therefore the duty of the user to check 5 minutes after each order placement for inconsistencies between the submitted order, the personal matched orders and the available balance and inform Fairlay immediately about eventual issues. Bets that were placed or not placed by error due to technical problems on the website must be reported before the market closes."

Is the site legit? Do you think the site is rigged? Was there any similar complains before? Are you sure you placed your bet on the right team. Well honestly, if the site is legit and not rigged, then there is nothing you can do or the support. There is not way you can prove that you placed the bet on Team A. The support probably gets shit loads of messages from scammers that claim there was a mistake from their side after (after losing a bet). All i would say is just move on and don't waste your time.

More like 5mBTC up front since a single issue is just 1 ticket,
then 1mBTC every 6minutes of their "work", means they will charge it even while you're waiting.
That's quite normal since it's not the regular customer support, it's an admin or a higher ranking employee.

My suggestion is to "not to push your luck" on this unless you find a hard evidence to support your claim.
You will spend your balance for nothing if you continue.

Fairlay is legit i've used their betting exchange multiple times. Their UI could be confusing if its his first time betting with an exchange but for the most part it shouldn't be when there's only 2 options (bet on and against). I think what happened with OP is that he clicked the button quickly too many times or accidentally fat fingered it causing his bet to switch if the bet was made from the phone.

It's kinda hard to say a scam, and I don't know the platform really much. It could be your mistake or they have intentionally changed your bet. If you think you have not mistaken, it's better to contact their support, and they can't satisfy you then you should just stay away from that site. There are a lot of trusted platforms that can give you a good bet anyway.

The exact same thing happened to me multiple times with Fairlay. I place an order. A few minutes later I check my betting history and I see that they placed my wager on the opposite outcome. This is an unacceptable bug in the Fairlay system that should be fixed asap. In fact I believe this is the single most important issue with the Fairlay website. Because of this issue I no longer bet with Fairlay. Because where is the guarantee that it won't happen again? As some of you guys already mentioned there is no way to prove what happened. Some of you guys mentioned taking screenshot as a solution. But what exactly should I take screenshot of? By this time Fairlay should already be very aware of this bug in their system. I hope they address this issue as soon as possible because their website is otherwise not bad at all and as far as I know there is no other bitcoin betting exchange with comparable liquidity in the market.
