Title: The fake vouches are coming from alts [?]
Post by: BitcoinGirl.Club on April 27, 2019, 07:20:15 PM
A forum member PMed me to check this topic: PayPal <<3%>> BTC  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5120480.0)
He (I will keep the user info private assuming he does not want to expose his account), claims this (quoted below)

Quote
Could you please tag up the rest of his alt accounts, that he continues to spam the thread with? The fake vouches are coming from his alts.

I have not done any investigation, honestly speaking I am not good at investigation things but once I get prove then I can come to a conclusion. So I asked him to create an scam accusation and bring the evidences he have. This was his response

Quote
All new accounts made by him, I wasnt scammed so it wouldnt be a scam accusation
Which is understandable.

So, here I need help from the members who are good at investigating alts. If really the claim is proven then I would not hesitate to tag the users.

Thank you.

It could be his/her other accounts like it could be a service he/she bought somewhere. Difficult to say but easy to understand for any reader of the forum that the conversation does not look very "natural". I would not deal with a user's topic like this even with a 30% discount Black Friday.

...presumed innocent until proven otherwise.

Its too obvious. All of them so called "vouches" are from newb accounts. And he's offering paypal trades. And a shitposter. Classic btt scam attempts.

The guy is farming, hell, he has already been tagged  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5052292.20)for that. Red him down further more!

So i took my time to try connecting the alts in the thread

I did notice that most of the accounts making the vouches have the following similarities
- Very old Newbie accounts
- All the past post majorly in the Russian Local Board before replying in the thread with fake vouches, It can't be a coincidence
- All woke up from long periods of inactivity.
- All accounts also made comments in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2810897
- All the account's passwords were changed once between 22nd - August - 2018 to 1st - September - 2018 except Udevinala (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1720459)(but it is also connected through other characteristics)

  • Basically all accounts that posted positive messages in that thread are connected, they style of posting is actually the same
  • More accounts of this scammer are found in the Russian board in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2810897
The posting style is the same but i couldn't read Russian so someone could help to identify them but i think they should all be tagged if they are posting the same positive style of message for the scammer

Thanks for your effort, but what you have provided is not enough evidence to judge that all these accounts are an alt account accounts of @
Fellavin.
This account tagged because of this topic ---> Farms of account sellers in the Russian branch "Off-topic"   (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5052292.20).
Additional Points:
 - This user does not sell in a locked self-moderated topic.
 - Members(guests) who do not see trust can see this warning.

If really the claim is proven then I would not hesitate to tag the users.

Having carried out a similar check to that done by Bitcoin_Arena, I think it is extremely likely that the vouches are fake, either from personal alts, as part of a network or bought from a third party.
It depends on at what level of probability you come to "strongly believe that this person is a scammer". This does not require signed confessions, courtroom quality proof, nor agonizing over innocent until proven guilty, this is simply your strong belief.

There is no other way of connecting them like transactions between addresses.
The pattern is the same as i pointed out.

The accounts have all replied in 2 similar threads, and one is in the Russian Board probably trying to vouch in a similar way. This proves that it's one person controlling the accounts

Check out this thread... you will find all the suspected accounts commented in it https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2810897.0

I am convinced that they are fake vouches however I gave them time: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5120480.msg50871689#msg50871689

Thank you for the investigations you have done. I left you +2 merits. Good work.

I too, appreciate your work  ;)
Let's give them time and we see what happens

BTW I forgot to mention that the accounts I stated above are kind of related to Fellavin for this reason:
The last bump on the Russian thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2810897) was by domerdel (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=302027) on February 24, 2018, 07:23:55 PM.
Fellavin then comes one year later and bumps the thread on March 13, 2019, 09:54:08 AM, After that we see all those funny newbie account reply on the thread through March and April in the same fashion.

Feel free to bring usernames if I miss anyone.

Thank you for your time Bitcoin_Arena.
