Post by: cap10 on April 28, 2019, 01:37:58 PM
Many days before, maybe 1 year or more, some of my friends told me HitBTC exchange is scam ,so I never make an account on HitBTC untill today.
Today I just make the account but I can't find anything that is my account ok without kyc or not?
What is my limit without kyc and I didn't find some more question!
So,I quit my deposit and came here to ask that is HitBTC scam and is not then why so many people think about this and is maybe in future, then why coinmarketcap listed them and support them and finally I wanna know my limit without kyc and is there any specific rules(if any rules have different then other exchange) for using HitBTC
Thank you very much for reading my thread!😉

I haven't heard much about them, but i don't think they're a scam..?

So,I quit my deposit and came here to ask that is HitBTC scam and is not then why so many people think about this and is maybe in future, then why coinmarketcap listed them and support them and finally I wanna know my limit without kyc and is there any specific rules(if any rules have different then other exchange) for using HitBTC

According to some online sources, there are three tiers..

But, with No KYC, i'm assuming you'll fall under the "General account", which is said to have the following limitations?:

The general account, which doesn’t require verification, has a daily withdrawal limit of the equivalent of 5000 EUR in cryptocurrency. With this tier, you can’t deposit fiat. Verified account is the second tier. It requires a KYC check. You are allowed a 25,000 EUR daily withdrawal limit of crypto. For fiat currency, there’s a limit of $2000 (EUR or USD) per week and $10,000 per month – both for withdrawals and deposits. The third level is a qualified account, which allows you to withdraw more than $25,000 worth of crypto each day. The fiat withdrawals and deposits allowed for qualified accounts are $10,000 per week and around $50,000 (EUR or USD) per month

The article is a bit dated, so things might have changed since then.

In the net there are many different opinions about this exchange, recently I transferred from there easily and fast tokens (about $ 300) without KYC. I totally want to get away from this exchange because I no longer trust. The fees there are very high, sometimes as high as token that you want to pay off. It will not be left to me when all tokens sell there first, then pay off everything and say goodbye to this exchange. As soon as I sell everything there, I will not trade anymore

I suggest don't use their service because they are well-known "freezing account" without violating any terms and there is fresh news about it from here (https://cointelegraph.com/news/hitbtc-account-freezes-in-spotlight-as-trace-mayer-john-mcafee-claim-foul-play) and I don't like more people to become one of another victim.

Much better to trade on other well-known exchange for safety purposes like binance.

They got high redraw rates and there is always some satoshi stuck when you move balance from trader to non trader wallets.
Coinmarketcap lists any exchange with some volume, cant relay on that.

I have used this exchange and have not found any issue, but few people said that sometimes HitBTC ask a nonsense free while trading or withdrawing their funds. After that, I decide to stop trading my funds there, I don't want anything bad happens to me. We all need to be more careful in choosing exchanges and go away after you found a suspicious thing.

We have the same experienced and so far so good I didn't encounter such a problem. I saw it here many complaints regarding that exchange maybe they have a lack of research that may encounter a problem regarding their support. I know that this exchange is lack of support team who help you out your issue. HitBTC for me is no issue for me, I am saying this base on my experience.

Offering a stable and honest platform would be a good start and ultimately a necessity. Also, asking people 1001 different questions and continuously rejecting their verification attempts can be done different as well.

More transparency from your side will help not only users save time (and money), but also yourself. This is a fast moving market--trolling people with silly questions while their funds are frozen is NOT acceptable.

Why create an account there despite of bad reviews? May we know the purpose?

Their community trust is below average or should I say worst and their customer support is poor. Even for let's say I have an answer to your questions about Limit, why still consider them? They are still on Coinmarketcap because they still meet the exchange criterias.

I never had a withdrawal problem with HitBtc but never suggested them to others. My only purpose there is to trade my coin which only listed there with a nice volume. Although my last used was last year.

There is no harm in making the account on Hitbtc and it has not scam yet. I cannot say about the future but the exchanges with low volume are the ones which cannot be trusted much.

There are few new and low volume coins which are only available on Hitbtc, so if you want to trade those coins, the only option left for us is to do some trading there.

Based on my experience, Hitbtc is not a scam site, I've been using it for years and I never had a big project like withdrawal problem.
In terms of KYC requirement, they are not so strict, I can use the site without KYC and that's one of the reason why I still stay in this site.
FYI, I'm not only using this site, I have more sites that I regularly use, like Binance.

I have an account on this HongKong-based cryptocurrency exchange and though I never had any issue on withdrawing coins, there was a single transaction that it took for the site maybe at least 2 weeks to be done and by the time that the token arrived on my account in HitBTC the price of the token was almost zero. I understand that there are many complaints on this site and I think their customer service department is not doing a good job resolving them. Consequently, HitBTC is not considered one of the best exchanges in the market. Just be careful.

HitBTC is not considered one of the best exchanges in the market. Just be careful.

They aren't, I don't know if their volume is real or not, as of to date, they have over $600 million 24 hours trading volume. https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/hitbtc/

This means that they have a lot of traders, so if their service is bad, they might loss clients.
I also have an account with Hitbtc but I am not active trading with them, I have limited experience withdrawing and none of the times I encountered a problem.

Any particular reason why your transaction was kept on hold or delayed for more than 2 weeks? Was it them holding it or was it some sort of problem with your deposit that caused this issue?
If there are several complaints about this site, i wouldn't recommend anyone to use this exchange.

HitBtc is never been consider to be included on the best exchangers out there on the first place. Since we do talk about deposits if the transaction is already been confirmed on the network then it sure that hitbtc
is on fault on here. Never crediting nor delaying the balance of yours which is indeed shady yet the price of the token is already dumped. We cant say that they do intentionally have done it or just some simple technical errors but i wont still consider on using up this exchange.

Delays are acceptable because we know it's not the best exchange, and therefore their service is not expected to be at par with the best exchange in the space. They have a lot of accounts to monitor and complaints to take care of, so for me, if they solve the issue we cannot call them a scam site.
We experience once and if we don't like that experience, we are free to look for other exchanges which we think can give our expectation.

Hello.

I'm afraid because my account is fully locked , i'm not able to withdrawal ( for around 0.84 BTC )
I have opened a ticket #424433 :

KYC -> I sent all documents
After, the support team answered me yesterday for proof of residence.
I sent my bank statement + my IBAN. ( same name, same address  : they refused ).
So, I sent three times my Internet Bill ( same name, same address ) :
To support+id424433 [at] hitbtc.zendesk.com : 14 may 18:41
To support+id424433 [at] hitbtc.zendesk.com : Today, 15 may 09:43
To support+id424433 [at] hitbtc.zendesk.com : Today, 11:47

After that, no answer.
They think I sent e-mail to bad e-mail address /-_-'/ but no, only at support+id424433 [at] hitbtc.zendesk.com ... so ...they told me on Twitter " We don't receive your e-mail, please try form another e-mail " .. lol..  But before they received , and now no... but why not...

I created a new e-mail, and I sent again today at 16h48.

And after, at 18h35, they said " check your mailbox ", but of course, NOTHING.

Here proof ( twitter + email + hitbtc ) :

Why I am afraid ? Because I bought small by small with my economy this Bitcoin in December 2018, half on Bitcoin ATM, half on a guy found on Localbitcoins.

They write to their website that people are allowed to withdraw without KYC 1 BTC. But in my case not.

KYC is not the problem.
The problem is how they proceed with me ( low, ask too much documents for nothing ), and I see too much message that they ask proof of fund, that I don't have because I bought in cash in December for a total of .. around 3500€ .

I'm honest, not a frauder. I give them all documents. And now, i'm waiting waiting waiting and see a lot of people in my case on Twitter.
Sound not good at all.

They wrote to a man this :
Quote
After the registration, the withdrawal limit for unverified accounts will be 1 BTC per day (and it's equivalent in other currencies), and 5 BTC per month.

If you verify your account, you will be able to withdraw 100 BTC per day and 30,000 BTC per month.

Me it's... 0.87 BTC !!!
I'm totally despair... I never had this sort of problem in my life, I feel scammed.

Thank you reading my message.

Definitely not a scam. I've been using it for quite a while and haven't had any major problems with it. But the thing is, they do not have a sufficient amount of guides and user information on their website and social media. So incomprehension may happen from time to time.

This tactic is still the same. The obvious observation leads to conclusions that they selectively scam their users under the guise of "freezing accounts" but keeping that aside their fees are not exactly great either.

My advice to all: avoid HitBTC

Lots of rumours and speculations about their future. They lost the opportunities to post here to inform users about what is happening and to keep updating people.

Yes, they are a SCAM. They block bigger withdrawals and force bogus KYC procedure to stall. People report waiting for their money for months without any success or response by the staff.

In short, they are stealing users funds' whenever possible.

They arent still scam yet they are still operation and just like Yobit they are shady as hell. Holding users funds and shady alibis on stealing peoples money.
I used up Hitbtc and withdrawals comes through without any issues but their fees are insanely high which havent being changed ever since as i remember
wayback on that 2017 bull run.

I have heard about that and I had a lot of tokens and coins on that exchange. So the very night I heard about this, I converted almost all my tokens to XLM and withdrew, because it was the cheapest coin at the time. Well, it is still the cheapest and it is not catching up with the others, probably because of Libra stuff.
Anyways, long story short, it is a good principle to keep your coins or tokens on your own wallet, where you own your private keys. Having said that, HitBTC did not give me a hard time for withdrawing any of my coins or tokens.

As far as I get, the exchange doesn't steal anything from anyone. As soon as you pass KYC you get your money. You can criticize the service because at times these procedures take long, but I don't think it's okay to call the company a scam. This exchange is active, it has some features. I'd rather say they need improvements.
