Title: Cashies pushing for a scaling direction debate between Peter Rizun and Adam Back
Post by: NoMoreForksPls on April 28, 2019, 09:40:38 PM
Anyone interested? I for one would love to see an actual debate, not just Roger Ver steering a debate into economics because he doesn't understand the tech.

Bitcoin Cash lost their war, but BTC might need to make big decisions on scaling soon, so discussions like these are important imho. And I feel like with all the drama these past few years we never really saw a good debate. I hope this happens, the twitter back-and-forth between those two guys is extremely interesting to me.

debates don't solve anything in my opinion specially when people like these are involved in it who are just going to attack each other and not discuss anything "technical". debates are only good for politicians when they want to sway the public opinion to their own cause!
in bitcoin we need solutions and proposals (as in actual code) to be put forward and analyzed for its pros and cons.

Agree, debates are usually done to prove your point or just to point out that you are smarter or in the right position, especially if you are debating just for discussion. Developers should not be publicizing such stunts, would be better if they had brain stormed and talked as professio al and would have put it in action as what the first comment(pooya87) of this section said.

Firstly, they are not that famous which is why not many would care about their conversations. Secondly, debates may help improve adoption rates in a small way, but big celebrities need to be involved here.

For example, a debate between the Bitcoin supporter(Celeb) and a Bitcoin hater(Celeb) would be interesting to observe.
