Title: Will lightning network make monero useless?
Post by: longbtcdev on April 30, 2019, 02:19:27 PM
As I know tx in the LN are not saved in the blockchain so they cant be tracked?
Can LN tx be tracked threw the amount of btc that is sent in the tx? At monero the amount of the tx is always hidden, could this be possible in the LN in future too?

Before I answer your question what in particular are you concerned about? Why do you think that the lightning network will make Monero useless? The lightening network isn't necessarily a better protocol to use and has its disadvantages. Monero specializing in privacy is its selling point. Why would the lightening network showing IDs make Monero useless when the primary goal of Monero is to keep things private? Personally I don't think either one of the technologies related to each other and Monero doesn't really compete with other projects that are using the lightening network.
