Title: Why does large block sizes increase orphan blocks and reorgs?
Post by: Abiky on May 02, 2019, 11:49:56 PM
Can somebody explain me in detail why do large block sizes greatly increase the number of orphan blocks on the Blockchain, and the possibility of a reorganization? There's been news lately of Bitcoin SV (not promoting it or anything) suffering from blockchain reorganizations due to its high block size of 128MB.

On the other hand, Bitcoin Cash also has a high block size (although smaller than BSV) of 32MB but it hasn't experienced anything similar (as far as I'm aware). As such, what could be the reason for this?

I'm asking this only for educational/learning purposes (and for curiosity too), since I'm experimenting with a cryptocurrency of my own. Any thoughts, recommendations, or guidance will be highly appreciated. :D

Any help, please? I'm just confused about this, but some guidance will allow me to gain a proper understanding about why such events occur (as I'm planning to build a crypto of my own).  ???
