Hi. I am looking for a bitcoin exchange which works with the Faster Payments scheme in the UK, which requires an account number and sort code. I noticed most bitcoin exchanges only accept SEPA transfers instead. Does anybody know any bitcoin exchanges which allow GBP deposits using account number and sort code?

Coinbase now has faster payments in the UK since the last few months. You need to transfer it to Coinbase Pro to get lower fees for buying and selling.

I think there are a few more obscure UK based places that have faster payments too but Coinbase should be all you need.

If the speed is updated on the website, there should be better options than Coinbase as it currently says average.

That's out of date now. The faster payments thing is a new development. It certainly took its time arriving but you won't get any faster than that.

Previously you had to wire GBP to Estonia or something.

https://www.coincorner.com  does faster payments too but I don't know anything about them.

I can vouch for Bitpanda. It's actually got very decent rates and a reasonable limit for non verified accounts. They do Sepa or direct transfer, skrill, neteller. Can't recall the exact limits but it's just about GBP 900 per day for a monthly limit of 10k maybe. Verify and you get a really generous amount.

They also just recently got the psd2 licence. I don't know any other crypto exchange with that licence.

But I don't know about their services because I don't live in the UK, and maybe you need to clarify by yourself, so you know what you want to choose.
I am sure that there is many more recommended website for the faster payment exchanges.

I wouldn't touch Wirex when it comes to banking. I only use it to send BTC to, convert to GBP and spend through their card which it's so far been fine for, though the exchange facility is often suspended. Every single complaint they seem to have regards bank transfers either failing or disappearing.

I think Coinbase Pro is the best choice for you, but you can try some local UK exchanges such as Bittylicious and Coinfloor. The best way to know which is the best for UK people is by asking it to your local bitcoin/crypto community. Anyway, which exchanges you have used before or it will your very first try?

Already coinbase pro was someone is suggested this exchange, so current suggestion was totally confused in this guy. If they really searching for UK exchanges surely old suggestions are satisfied and many exchanges are available in the market so better choose some exchange and asking the potential of the exchanges is the right direction.

I am sure that it will help others to know about that so that we can delete Wirex from the list, and I am done for edit.
Maybe Wirex needs to solve their problem so they can attract more customer to use their services.
Until that time, we could stay away from Wirex and use other services.

It may well be fine, but the same problems come up time and again and it's always bank transfers. It's worth a test at least and of course you never hear from the people who don't have problems so it might be totally overblown. All the same support does not sound great but virtually nowhere else is any better.

Anyway, unless you get the boot Coinbase is all anyone needs in the UK. I'd prefer Gemini if they had UK banking and it sounds like they might be working on it.

LocalBitcoins has got large number of traders with varied transaction support, from wire transfer to different wallet transfer access. You could find the fastest transaction provided and go for the trade, I've used it and have completed traders in less than five minutes which is with the use of bank deposit.

How about a Bitstamp? Bitstamp is a British cryptocurrency exchange, isn't it? So this should support Faster Payments scheme in the UK. Bitstamp are Slovenian and always have been. They used to rent a mailbox in the UK but that's as far as their Britishness goes.

I don't think they've integrated GBP and faster payments yet but they have announced it. I'd still never use them for their disgusting invasiveness and evasiveness.
