Title: [CBC] Canadian Bitcoin Conversions - or whatever coin really
Post by: Steamtyme on May 06, 2019, 11:33:11 AM
Welcome to the CBC.

Are you Canadian (or a resident of) then this thread may be for you; if enough of us use/monitor it. I figured that it would be nice to have a spot where we can deal in CAD and look for EMT as FIAT payment options. I realize everyone can just create their own thread every time, but I've found in the past it's not always easy to find a CAD option. Dealing with PP and USD usually hurts our bottom line once conversion and fees take place.

So moving forward when I want to part with some BTC, I will be posting here. So feel free to post here if you want to be on the radar for people. I'm not going to out any Canadians I know. I am willing to be a middle man for communication if you don't want to reveal yourself as Canadian to everyone as well. (I will exercise caution in helping facilitate any anonymous deals).

So here are some local rules for this thread:

1) You must be dealing in CAD - Or dealing strictly in alts if you're wanting to keep them in the country as your patriotic duty  :P
2) Travelling or looking to sell some locally within Canada, sure drop a post, why not. Remember to be careful about disclosing to much personal information; if you value privacy.
3) Perform your due diligence before trading with anyone, even Canadians.  ;)
4) Be clear in your terms what you are looking to buy/sell and at what rate you expect.
5) My french is rusty/ a distant memory but as I've found in the past my shitty French skills and someones broken English can generally understand each other.  :D

I think that's it. I'll add more rules or suggestions/tips if anyone has a good one.

Glossary of terms

CAD - Canadian dollars,    EMT - Email money transfer,       PP - Paypal

Quick option Companies

Am openly Canadian here  8) glad you opened this. I am always buying BTC for PayPal (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5031280.0) (and previously EMT) and the USD conversion usually hurts. Dealing in CAD would be ideal, if anyone wants PayPal CAD for their BTC at a 1-to-1 rate, then please message me

Nice hearing from you. You are one of the people I had in mind. I'll likely be looking to offload a little this weekend.

Do you still do EMT or strictly PP? Either is fine.

I've been dealing just with PayPal as of recently. I think Shakepay deals with EMT for relatively low fees though, heard good things from them

Yeah I might give them another shot if I'm in a pinch. They requested I resend my ID photo again, by then I had secured the coins I needed.

Offer- I am looking to sell .03 BTC @ Preev rate. No longer Available

PP f&f or EMT.

Bylls is a good option to sell your coins for direct bank transfer (EFT). They don't need ID if it's below $3000 so it's convenient if you want to sell some coins (or pay your bills) and want to lock in a certain rate. Fees are 0.5% + $0.95 if you sell less than $1000 or 0.75% + $0.95 over that. Only downside is no EMT so it takes 2-4 business days to receive your CAD.

Right I remember using them once, smooth process all around. Thanks for the refresher, I'm going to add both services to the OP for when people can't find someone to trade with.

OP is updated with:
"Quick Option Companies" -> Pretty sure for most people Shakepay has worked out in under 24 hours, it's just that damn occupation question on the verification that will mess with people with a job outside of the list.

"Current offers" - I will do my best to track the posts and add current offers to the OP.  Shouldn't be to hard  :P

Give this the old bump.

I'm also looking to sell some BTC for CAD 300-400$. Let me know if you are interested.
Prefer EMT, but PP works as well.

You might have a tough time using the forum to find someone to take that. I'm not to familiar with travelers checks but I imagine you will need to make a Face to Face trade similar to using Cash. For that try and see what sort of crypto community you have locally.

I'm looking to buy with CAD. I'm willing to buy with e-transfer, money order, cash, etc. I would like to use an escrow service though. PM me if you are interested, or have other options for me.
