Title: Do I need to resync blockchain data for a second in-house node? Post by: StackGambler on May 13, 2019, 12:52:40 PM Hello, I am currently running a full node on my desktop PC, and I would like to run another one on my laptop using a hard disk. Instead of resyncing Core on my laptop, can I just transfer the blockchain from the main PC to the hard disk and plug it into the laptop? Is that a safe way to do it, or should I resync the blockchain from scratch on the laptop? Thanks!

But only copying the blocks is not enough, you need the chainstate folder too. The easiest probably would be if you copy the whole data dir (without the wallet.dat) to your 2nd hard drive. Then let your 2nd node use that directory. May i ask what the reason is to have a 2nd node running at home ? |
