Hi Everyone,
I'm having problem in updating my electrum wallet 3.3.4 to 3.3.5, having downloaded the 3.3.5 version and installed it either but when I click on it to use the previous password of the 3.3.4 it says incorrect password.
Is there something i'm not doing right?

You should be able to install the new version on top of the older one without having the wallet files being deleted so that's odd... especially that the files are there and it says the password is incorrect.

If you have the seed from your old wallet, try to use it to restore it and restore the wallet.

OP, did you check if you have Caps Lock on? Or maybe another type of keyboard layout on, since English/French/German are clearly different? (and probably the list is much bigger)

I hope you have the backup of the wallet file (.dat). If not then make a copy and keep it in a safe place.

Now here are few things you can do:
1. Like OmegaStarScream (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5143085.msg51048363#msg51048363) said, if you have the seed (you should have) then restore the wallet with the seed.
2. Uninstall the current Electrum software then download it from the official website (https://electrum.org/#download). You must verity the downloaded file (https://bitcoinelectrum.com/how-to-verify-your-electrum-download/) before installing.
3. Paste the copied wallet file (.dat) in the wallets folder (....\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets) if it's not there. <== assuming it's windows system and you have installed the software in it's default directory.
4. Check if you have the CAPsLOCK on/off issue.

OP: You may consider updating the topic title. It sounds like you are having issue while installing the Electrum software.

Restore from seed (https://bitcoinelectrum.com/restoring-your-standard-wallet-from-seed/) since it seems you've forgotten the password.

What I know is that it better to use an update version of wallet to avoid any kind of error.

After I install the wallet I dont see any process I have to follow to restore the wallet with my private keys or seeds.
What do i have to do?

Open Electrum again, and type any random name in the wallet field, It should give you something like this:

Click next => Standard wallet => I already have a seed. Type it and you should be good to go.

It good you're smart enough to know it spam link and not the correct link to download electrum wallet.
To answer your question, the forum is save and this is what the forum police and admin are doing but it a gradually process cause the forum users are huge. However, you should know by now that there are some people which abuse the decentralization of crypto currency and always check the reason why a user was giving red trust before you deal with them cause the user you mention was already been reported.

Use the report link in the PM to alert the moderators about that. The bitcoin world is full of minefields like these. You will have to learn to navigate around them.

OMG it seems there are many scammer who develops a fake electrum wallet and they are now here on the forum so beware always use the original link which is Electrum.org and if you found a suspicious user who PM you like this one ask it here on the forum if it's a legit link or not just to be safe.

I see racquemis try to scaming you, he have negative trust and  recently woke up from a long period of inactivity [hacked or something happen]. be carefull don't touch that link.
