If I have the public and private key to a bitcoin can I sell that and convert to cash without syncing the blockchain?

Yes, you can import your private key into electrum or blockchain.info which uses online sync so no need to sync with the blockchain yourself. Since the blockchain is well over 200gb in size it just makes sense. Only people running nodes and things like that use the blockchain. So yes an online blockchain connection is your answer.

@OP as mentioned after importing, you can simply send it to any exchange/exchanger and convert those bitcoins you have into cash. There's no different way of doing that and that's the most usual way of converting bitcoin into cash or any cryptocurrency that you prefer. Electrum is a lite-wallet so you don't have to download the whole network.

You can just send your bitcoin to any exchange and sell it there and convert it to cash. Just choose an exchange that will be convenient for you since some exchange will require you to undergo KYC.

First, stop trying to look intelligent by play semantic games... it's very tiresome and doesn't assist the OP in anyway.

Why would you want to use an opendime to convert BTC to fiat? That seems like a long winded (and expensive) way to achieve the stated goal. One would have to order an opendime... at an advertised minimum cost of US$39.94 for a set of 3 (+ taxes + shipping)... wait for them to arrive, then send the bitcoin to the opendime deposit address... then try and find someone to buy the opendime from you. ::)

Or you could do as suggested by others and simply import/sweep the BTC from the private key to a web wallet (like blockchain.com) or an SPV wallet like Electrum. Then you can send the BTC to an exchange that supports fiat withdrawals in your location or you could use localbitcoins and find someone in your local area to trade the BTC for cash.

You misunderstood what he is asking here. He wants to sell BTC without syncing with the blockchain and it is possible through wallets like Electrum(Importing the key) skipping the hassle of dealing with the blockchain altogether.

I second using eletrum. I dont actually use blockchain.com anymore I use a ledger. For hotwallets its ok.
I do recommend that the OP doesnt sell the btc and use it directly. I buy everything with btc expluding food and petrol and rent. Everything else is btc. Even a car. ^^
Converting to cash is sacrilege. Infact 100% of my funds are in btc because I am a believer and put my money where my mouth is ^^
I only ever use cash where it needs to be used like going out and to markets and stuff. They only take cash not even cards so yeah.

Never use KYC exchanges. There is no reason they need to know who you are. If you know you not a criminal then there is no reason to let a stranger know who you are. You have no idea what they do with this info regardless of what they say. KYC= your family safety. Protect it. Crypto is ment to be decetralized to KYC is against everything crypto stands for. Besides KYC wont stop crime anyway. Obviously no criminal will launder through an exchange its far to obvious. So please never give your KYC to anyone ever. KYC has nothing to do with how legit a place is.

As a matter of fact. I was scammed by plaes that want KYC and i was never scammed by plaves that dont ask KYC.

OKEX that Chinese piece of shit stole almost $200 from me. I did as I always do. Deposit my coins sold them for btc and oops when I want to withdraw they tell me suspicious activity is going on in my account and the lock it and ask KYC for ransom. It is disgusting. KYC is a tool that masquerades as protection but is actually a tool for criminals to fuck you over. DO NOT TRUST KYC EXCHANGES!!!

Yes you can, if only you have a bitcoin in your wallet, but if your wallet is 0 BTC it won't be worth it.
To make cash, you must first convert it into fiat currency and then make a cash withdrawal.

of course you can just sell it in an exchange that can convert to cash, depending on where you come from and depending on which exchange you receive, there are those who have to do KYC and some who don't

Of course, you can still sell those bitcoin. If you still have the private key and the seed to your wallet, you have the best chances on selling your bitcoin. Just be extra careful on putting your priv key to wallets. Some are not trusted.
