The names are the who's who in their respective industries. Now, we are all hoping that soon more and more big names will be coming on board so as to boost Bitcoin and the rest of the cryptocurrency club. I know that we are still far cry from mainstream adoption but we can get there one merchant at a time. Soon if this whole thing can be sailing smoothly, there can be an avalanche of support from the business community.

I jave seen the article here yesterday. This is big news for cryprocurrency since this could lead to mass awareness and adaptation. Good to know that cryptocurrency is somehow being recognized by some companies as an alternative to cash or plastic money. I am expecting adoption rates to rise even further once the LN is fully functional which would help speed up TX speeds and reduce TX charges in a big way.

Great news, happy to see a way to spend coins but sending your coins in a 3rd party wallet is just not the way to do it.

This is actually great news, though I hope that this would not be a short-term acceptance of the said cryptocurrency as we know that these magnates/companies have the tendency to pull off these payment methods once the price flops. I've seen Steam do it once and silently which is just utterly disappointing knowing that it's a great thing for most gamers who don't have access to credit/debit cards. All I know is that they are accepting it currently because of the hype, but once the hype dies, the option to pay in crypto will also die, too, and I hope it doesn't turn out that way.

There are concerns here that it is still a third party but for me, this is good for adoption. The third party app helps mediates the things lacking in bitcoin to become the main payment scheme. There is no good information for me instead I see an information that bitcoin be accepted by some merchants more the merchant has many popularity. These two company are a billion dollar company if I am not mistaken, so it's a good addition.

It will help speed up the adoption of bitcoin because the big merchants is well-known in the field of business and social media. Many well-kown business personalities had already expresses support on bitcoin boosting its popularity and public acceptance. The Spedn app for Flexa is only available for Apple phones right now, Android to come later. What they are not making clear in the press releases is that your spending limit (https://flexa.network/legal/terms) using the app is limited to $100 a week.

The problem here is it being a 3rd party, meaning that you will lose a lot of fees between transferring from your wallet to their wallet and than to seller plus their interest, which many people are discouraged about, it is great that companies are accepting cypto but it sucks to have to pay a lot of fees, like you used to be able to buy from any site using a bitcoin debit card but the problem is as always are the fees, why couldn't the transfer happen directly from one wallet to another ?.

I agree with you in that this is not a pure Bitcoin adoption, so to speak, but I'm sure you will not object when I say, rephrasing Neil Armstrong's words, that's one small step for companies like Starbucks, yet one giant leap for Bitcoin.

Even I would not be that surprised if some more merchants start accepting bitcoins on their platform. Instead once the bull runs arrive I am sure that there will be a lot of peoples who would rush towards bitcoins and start accepting and investing into them. Now, accepting bitcoins on our platform means that we would indirectly invest into bitcoins and a lot of merchants who want to sell their products love selling those for bitcoins as it would give multiple benefits for the merchants. The only thing I care about it the transaction fees. Peoples might just not feel the transaction fees affordable so there needs to be some majors which could be taken.

Great to see the changes in developing countries and what is the legal stand point of bitcoin in Brazil, did the government framed a law for bitcoin to have these sort of merchant adoption, i am not sure how strong and progressive is their government and so is the reason i am asking this, either way it is good for the people to have more options.

I think they are already in industry. They are just quietly examining the potentials of cryptocurrency market to boom. I think it will be publicly announced when there is already a digital asset in their SALN. As of now, they just want to hide their identity for private purpose. AT&T is the world's largest telecommunications company and the second largest provider of phone services, with total assets $531 billion. This news alone can push the prices up big time. Major merchants are accepting bitcoin but not world wide, there are accepting at a particular area and not in the entire US too from what i understand, it is a major win for bitcoin even if they are accepting in one or two stores of a global brand but when they will be accepting it in all the branches world wide is yet to be seen and if they start accepting it in all the stores of their brand then it is a major news.

simply because it won't be able to handle the number of transactions and LN nodes are few ... and far in between

I'm interesting to see how these merchants handle refunds. Microsoft stopped accepting Bitcoin in 2017 as everyone was returning purchaces and asking for refunds. Price was doubling every 2-3 weeks and MS was refunding in Bitcoin and not in dollar value.
