Now there is a lot of websites rating ICOs, most of this websites rate the ICOs, but in other hand this websites charge fees from ICOs.
Which means that this evaluation may not be accurate, so do you trust these websites? and do you recommend using them?

Please vote to help others

I only visit ICO rating websites to know trending ICOs and not to help me analyze if a project is legit or not. Most are paid reviews, don't get it twisted. So it's important you do your own research, not just concluding based on the ratings you see on ICO sites. Well, some boast of reputation like ICODROPS, ICOBENCH but please, never rely completely on them.

With the state of the market, and how it is flooded with shit coins and every now and then a new ICO popus up it is really confusing as many of them might be a scam, and others are just a pump and dump, so what some of these ICOs will actually pay rating sites and influencers to promote their project even if it is not that worth it, just to get people to invest in it, and you can see this not just in review websites but every where on YouTube and even here on this forum.

I agree with you mate because these websites are paid just to advertize and promote ICO's for exposure. This kind of business will not work anymore however these websites are not that accurate to rate such ICO's. We still need to do our own due diligence in choosing the right ICO to invest with. For now, I may not fully trust the ICO rating. but making references might be better, and the rest might be better for analyzing the project yourself. Because we cannot fully trust the ICO rating that exists now. I recommend using it for your reference.

never rely entirely on the ICO rating website, because most of them are not reliable, it is very important to conduct your own research, you can see from the ICO rating website but don't make reference to investing

If you concern about cryptocurrency you can't trust anyone except yourself. As @0t3p0t already said that these websites are paid websites and getting paid by ICO owners for listing their ICO. These websites don't take effort to deep analysis about the project and giving a transparent review. You can find so project who did not exits in the present time but they are still listed on those websites. Those websites didn't even bother theirself to atleast remove or update about fake projects. Here I am giving a few points regarding this..

1 You can use those websites for information purpose not investment purpose.
2  Always do your own research before investing in any project.
3  Don't trust anyone, always do your own analysis like looking their website, reading whitepaper and see if their team is active and legit.
4  Make remember in your mind that those websites getting paid for review of ICO so they are not going to give any bad review.
5  These websites are only useful for getting information about new projects in one place.

Hope it's help you

They are paid promoters of these ICO's, as you can see in their websites they had a premium listing so even dubious and scam projects can get a good rating, I have seen it in resto token as you can see here they gave it 4.3 rating and they still did not take down the rating, even though it is a proven scam site https://icobench.com/ico/resto

Well they are useful for knowing what is currently active and which one is already done,
I think it is helpful for searching an ICO but not for securing investors from scammers.
They are just going to list down all of the ICO and it is our job to find which one is great for us.

I don't think so, experienced investors don't need to visit the ico websites. They only believe on their research about the project. To be honest ICO rating website is a somewhat not really trusted, because i heard the ico rating site will give a good rating if the project owner give some money to the site. I don't know is it true or not though.

ICO now does not guarantee profit, and most ICO projects do not have working product and there are those who fail funding, and what is most avoided is the SCAM, try to transfer your investment to the IEO, especially from binance, I think they have been selectiv and guarantee of listing on exchange.

It would be useful to some extent.
Most of the ICO website now features interviews, profile and other info about the team and the individuals. Their history and current status. And makes it easier for the investors to decide what's worth investing for. Though paid promotions had been ruining the experience, it would be wise to compare their informations with other sites and do a bit of research yourself before believing in them.

Yes but a little bit, I only use ICO websites to know startup projects but I dont trust their ratings and comments. Most ICO websites are fake ratings because they charge fees from ICOs for them to give good ratings. As an investors I always do my due diligence and didn't trust this ICO websites.

I think its much more beneficial if we have our own set of criteria in determining the viability of an ICO and we should not rely solely on these ICO websites which is most of the times, biased towards an ICO since most of them requires payment to publish ICO's in their websites. Here are some of my questions which could serve as a checklist in determining whether an ICO is right for investment or not or whether its a scam or not?:

1. Does it have a sound business plan and original and not a copy paste idea?
2. Does it already have an MVP?
3. Does it have a Github repository already?
4. Do the development team are capable in delivering the product?
5. Does the team's identities verifiable or have been verified?
6. Does it have a realistic roadmap?
7. Does the team give utmost importance to their promises and perform deliverables?
8. Does the project exercise more transparency on project related matters?
9. Does the project's have excellent and justifiable tokenomics?
10. Does the project have positive peer reviews among trustworthy members of the community?

I only trust a few listing sites but I always follow my own guidelines to determine if that project is good. I've been a victim of the ico scams last 2017 and I really don't wanna do ICO's anymore but rather I'm going for IEO's now since I can see my coins bought from there, and at the same time it provides me more security as an investor. One IEO that I participated sold out their first round of IEO (http://ecomi.com?utm_source=ecomilx) in Bitforex and I'm actually contented with how IEO works right now. Instead of ICO's where I need to wait for them to release the tokens and not having that sense of relief that I will not be scammed, again.

Yeah good point. As for the poll, I do follow a few like icobench but I always do my own homework before becoming an investor for a startup project.

All rating sites are information portals. There we take information, compare. study. And then go to the discussion forums, study the team, the topic and make a decision. It has to be.

In any case, the websites representing the rating of ICO projects give us some information about these projects. We can use it, comparing with other similar sites and already on this basis to develop our own opinion about ICO projects.
Of course, most of these sites give us sometimes one-sided information, but we can take it into account when studying the documents of such ICO projects on our own.

Most of the reviews are biased. The rating s only given good when they pay a good amount of money to the ico rating site. Ao, I think it will be worst idea to depend on ico rating site for investors.

I only know a few ICO review sites. I used to visit them before but after finding out some of their unethical moves such as giving a low rating then sending "random" users to ICO telegram groups to inform them of the low rating. They would even send someone that would act as a potential investor with a script that looks like this:

"I would like to invest but I am having doubts. I saw the review on this website xxx and the review is very low....."

I don't trust these rating sites, there were and still allegations of corruptions on these rating sites,  they are in fact number one promoter of scam ICO's by giving them fake rating by their paid so-called experts in the industry, people should not use this kind of websites, they should be independent.

I dont ranking on ICOs website are accurate but i think the information on ICOs website are useful. Its useful for investor as second opinion before make investment or useful to understand about the project, the team behind the project or others. Most ICOs website always put disclaimer on their analysis and its means we should do our own analysis before make investment on ICOs

Having an active website on every ICO can prove its legitimacy but that is not enough as your basis. Rating sites is also not good because it can be manipulated and it can be a paid reviews. I think the best way to know if the project is legit is to study everything about the project, their plan and future goals for you to know if they can work on that.

So it's better to pick those with genuine and proper review

If their review are paid by developers team, i think its normal as long they dont give bias information about the project itself

I have seen on scam accusation board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0
a lot of scam projects listed/supported in ICO website. Also fake identities declared "verified".
Plus if ICO pay money, can receive visibility on these sites, despite the project has not any real value/or it's a scam.

first of all i never suggest investing in any ICO under any circumstances because they are harmful to the whole ecosystem but people don't listen. as for these types of sites they may help a little at first but they all turn into bigger scams than the ICOs they are advertising because they all want to make money and ICOs are always open to bribing them. that is why people should never trust site like this.

no mate i don't trust on any ICO website ratings without doing technical analysis on my own, because it's still uncertain and there's a high possibility that it was fake,  because you know ppl now will pay for everything just to promote their project and so that they can convince more investors immediately . so it's a big mistake to put a trust easily on it , doing research is a must!

All right, sites should be independent and in order to accurately assess whether they show the truth, you need to follow their evaluation for at least a year. and see how projects live with a certain rating.

do not count on rating sites they will not guarantee that the project will be successful
when choosing ICO, you need to thoroughly examine the project from all sides
team
road map
availability of finished product
Does the project have fees and how fast they go
chat with someone from the team ask questions

DO you think ICO websites help investors to choose best ICO to participate.
Now there is a lot of websites rating ICOs, most of this websites rate the ICOs, but in other hand this websites charge fees from ICOs.
Which means that this evaluation may not be accurate, so do you trust these websites? and do you recommend using them?

I don't think this ICO rating websites help in actually telling you which ICO project would be a good investment or not, I believe that there is monopoly in the system and they rate those who pay more money than others who doesn't, this is why I won't advice any of my friends or newbie I bring into the system to visit this ICO rating site to get projects for investment because they might end up losing all of their funds to scammers and begin to refer Crypto as a scam instead of a savour.

There are sites that do not take a fee from the developers. I use several such sites, I read a lot of information before investing in any project. Such sites help to assemble a mosaic into a single picture.
May i ask you to list this websites that do not takes fees from developers for listing projects?

I don't believe in the ICO website which gives positive or negative reviews, from what I know. a website like that is a paid website "if you want to promote ICO then you have to pay XX btc to that website". so, overall the website review or rating for ICO is not 100% pure review personally, the legitimate can be bought. that's why, why many ico are successful but end up scam. fake reviews and ratings.

No, I don't think they help investors pick the best ICO's. Most of them give favourable reviews if you give them enough money. I don't pay them any attention at all when evaluating which ICO's to invest in. I don't think the IEO sites are anymore reliable since they make money if the IEO is successful. If you want to know if a new project is worth investing in you have to do your own research and due diligence.

I am visiting some ICO websites like ICODROPS or ICOBENCH. But I always do my own researches because most of the ICOs are only paid reviews. So I don't fully trust ICO rating websites. It is better also to listen to some experienced youtubers and their recommendations of ICOs.

Title: Re: DO you think ICO websites help investors to choose best ICO to participate?

I only visit ICO rating websites to know trending ICOs and not to help me analyze if a project is legit or not. Most are paid reviews, don't get it twisted. So it's important you do your own research, not just concluding based on the ratings you see on ICO sites. Well, some boast of reputation like ICODROPS, ICOBENCH but please, never rely completely on them.

Indeed, most ICOs rating websites are paid reviews and i am prefer make my own analysis before make investment on ICOs. But now investor looking on IEOs because exchangers already make research about the project before held IEOs. Its good alternative for investor
Because the name change from ICO to IEO dose not mean you can make a profit, most of exchanges welcome IEO because it charge huge amount during ICO from the project developers.

I think its much more beneficial if we have our own set of criterias in determining the viability of an ICO and we should not rely solely on these ICO websites which is most of the times, biased towards an ICO since most of them requires payment to publish ICO's in their websites. Here are some of my questions in determining whether an ICO is right for investment or not:

9. Does the project's tokenomics been distributed fairly?
10. Does the project have positive peer reviews among trustworthy members of the community?
I just want to know what is MVP?

I don't think so, experienced investors don't need to visit the ico websites. They only believe on their research about the project. To be honest ICO rating website is a somewhat not really trusted, because i heard the ico rating site will give a good rating if the project owner give some money to the site. I don't know is it true or not though.
Yes, this is true and this websites offers the services for the developers under (premium listing).

I think they can help you in your personal research and due diligence as you can extract all the details about an ico from such websites also you can analyse them against other similar projects and these websites also tellbus important information like opening and closing of fund rsising, soft and hard cap, price of token and some also provide information about authenticity of the team.

yes.  we need that.  but that is not the main reason.  The ICO website only assesses a project in general.  but the value and prospects of a project are 100% controlled by the team and advisor.  they must work hard to create good coins.

This has always been a wrong approach and I don't think any experienced investor will depend on these ICO websites to choose the best ICO project to invest in. Why will you invest into a project by someone's review on a project you are the one going to invest your money into. It can just serve as a guide so that as an investor, you research deep into the project and the team behind and from there decide as to whether you will invest in or not.

Initially these ICO Rating websites could be trusted for their reviews and recommendations but ever since the ICO market boomed last year most ratings are all fake and not genuine. You can see a rating of 5-star yet it would be a scam project. Just do your own research before investing into any ICO.

Many of the ICOs that are now well known scams used some of these websites to gain the trust of unsuspecting investors who ended up losing their capital in an unworthy way. It is well known that many of the funds obtained by the ICOs are mostly spent on advertising, and a significant percentage of these expenses are directed to these types of websites, so little by little they have been losing credibility in a sector where first-hand information is essential, so it is increasingly difficult to find reliable sources in this regard.

Icodrops is much better that all the ico reviews sites combined. It seems to me personally that this kind of sites play a very small role in attracting large investments because businessmen do not listen to advice from unverified people and moreover they will not invest their funds in a project that they don’t even know, most likely they have people in headquarters who are engaged in the selection projects for investment.

In my opinion, the ICO website is important to give consideration in choosing the right ICO. With this website, we can determine the right ICO because through the website we can get complete information about ICO. Information on the website must be considered because now there are laws about websites and social media. We can trust this website. All information that we get from the website can make us more stable or even unstable in joining the ICO.

ICO review websites often give an ICO a bad rating unless they pay them or they offer a good rating for payment. It means nothing. I always ask myself according to who are these ratings given. You absolutely must do your own research or you will come out on the short end of the stick for sure. Just make sure you don't pick a generic looking ICO web landing page. Many look the same and merely use templates. They impressive looking so I am not surprised they trick people.

No, it's different then and now. Two years ago, ICO website was very useful to find which one is the best project to invest but last year most of ICO were listed on ICO websites and got a good rating while they eventually turned to a scam. Today, it's still the same! We can't really trust ICO websites as any projects could get a high rating easily whilst website owner is too lazy to conduct a due diligence for project listing.

I thought so but I don't have any evidences so I won't say like what you said, they might just apply fee for listing but there is no proof that a project will get a high rating by paying listing fee. So do you have any evidences to prove your argument?

No way. ICO rating website is a good tool to know about an ICO project because they list every important information on the board. But you can't take any investment decision by seeing their rating. ICObench uses a bot to rate a project, can you imagine? Take those websites as an information giver and research yourself before joining in any ICO.

Not really man. I using some ICO tracking sites just for knowing what kind of ICOs are running now.
Some sites can be paid to promote your own ICO, so it become a paid promotion site, which won't guarantee it is the best ICO to participate.

It is not a change in just the names but there is rather a change in some fundamental ways things used to work. Right now, the risk on the investor side has also reduced and the project on the back of the tokens sole in IEO is way too good for practical implication in various ways. In Canada, Banks and financial institutions have been making use of the technology immensely. This is going to give rise to another fundraising boom in days to come.

I am sure that sites such as icobeanch are corrupt. I have not seen any good rated site for free. The best sites are sites with paid subscriptions and recommendations of famous blockchain analysts. Yes, they do it for money but each of these analysts values their reputation.

I dint trust them, there is nothing they do tan what is being done in this forum, their own is even worst that they use fee to get projects registered which will definitely make them to be biased on their choice of project. This is money speaking here, and they can easily be compromised when they are being offered some money by some projects to get them listed without verification.

Let’s pile up the list of ICOs that has really scammed people so far, and see whether you will not found majority of them also on these ICO websites that claims to be rating projects. I will rather continue to research of projects that I see on bitcointalk forum than rely on the report of those ICO sites.

I think ICO websites are useful because they provide the main info about almost any ICO project, but I do not use them for making the decision whether to invest in the project or not.

it can be used as one of the information givers for potential investors about concepts, criteria, roadmaps and several other things related to ico. ico web can help beginner investors choose their choice of ico but still have to do an analysis before determining the ico option through the website.

As you can see by the voting, many people on this forum are realising that those ico rating websites are mostly paid by the projects. I personally don't believe in them.
Exactly most of the ICO review website are paid to hype scam and shit coin's in they review and at that are misleading many investors who believe in they rating. As we have seen in 2018 there was lots of ICO website and at the same time lots of scam ICO at the same time.

I definitely do not trust ico websites ratings while considering a project and any reasonable investor should not do the same. And this is because there are alot of projects that tends not very good but can afford to pay ico websites a lot of money for a good rating. If any investor should consider the rating while investing then he might lose his money. I always recommend that people do a very good personal research before they decide to invest in any project to afford loss or falling for scam.

You are correct. ICO Websites are just guide on what ICO are now active but not a basis of what ICO we should choose. They are paod and we don't know if they are making their reviews bias and in favor of one ICO.  We should make our own research on our desired ICO.

Gone are the days that we should our analysis or conclusion on investing in ICO based on ICO listing sites ratings. Rather, take your time and use your skills to carry out intensive research on such project.
Some of these so called sites have becomes scam sites, because they end up confusing investors, most especially those that trust them and their judgement

I think this is really not helping investors because most investors are losing huge amount of monies into ICO projects that only got the hype but nothing good came ot of it. Ico websites are just a mere formality and i recommend each investor to do their own research and decide on what project to invest in.

You cannot possibly trust ICO rating website when analyzing a good project because their opinion ate usually biased and controlled by money. Most of these website collect money from projects to get listed on their website, so what is the probability that they won't rank a project very high because it paid more. I have seen situations where ico website ranked a project low and the project was good, in fact it did X10 when it got listed. It is better you do your own research before you decide to invest in any project.

I think this website is very helpful to decide and choose the best ICO to participate . Because it give information and description in different ICO that you want to participate so it is good to make you think or to understand to flow of what industry that you will entrering and learn some tips to avoid losss.
They are only goo to point you towards the direction of knowing which project is trending and what project to invest in, the only thing those ICO projects has been helpful to me for is that, I am able to get the gist on already concluded projects, upcoming projects and projects that are presents in, which makes it very easily for me to be in the loop

One thing I can’t completely rely on their rating to make my investment decision without first researching personally too on those projects, since they collect money to do some of those things and I learnt that majority of them even pay for reviews.

I think ICO websites are useful because they provide the main info about almost any ICO project, but I do not use them for making the decision whether to invest in the project or not.
ICO was the fundraising mechanism that caused a boom back in 2018 but they ran out of trust due to fake involvements. I think it is still pretty good to hodl ICO if your project has what it takes to raise funds. But the trendy option for the crypto startups is rather IEO now. They feel it is a quick way to get the hard cap gained if the exchange is good.
