Title: Favorite Bitcoin exchange?
Post by: alina345 on May 20, 2019, 12:38:34 AM
There are hundreds of Bitcoin exchanges which anyone can sign up for and start buying Bitcoin quickly and effectively. Personally, I use Gemini or Kraken. Gemini has an excellent interface and low fees, while Kraken offers some of the best crypto assets and is one of the oldest exchanges in existence.

The real question is... What is your favorite Bitcoin exchange?

Putting aside the event of binance hack, no centralized exchange is immune to hack so we can't used that to judge them. binance is still the most favourable exchange supported by most members of the community. They have proven themselves to be trustworthy, dominating the exchange industry and they'll gain more trust if they can deliver as they promised that all fund of investors are SAFU. When it comes to trading I use binance.

none of them. since centralized exchanges are already pretty bad, risky and in some cases even shady i can't trust any of them to have a favorite although i am still forced to use them since the alternative (the decentralized exchanges) aren't yet mature enough to satisfy the needs of a trader the same way centralized exchanges do.

When it comes to trading I use binance.

Binance is an "altcoin" exchange not "bitcoin" exchange!

As for decentralized exchanges, some work needs to be done to make them more user-friendly, but IDEX seems to lead the pack in terms of user-friendliness. However, it lacks support for bitcoin and only allows Ethereum and Ethereum-based tokens. In time there will be a solid decentralized exchange for trading bitcoin.

Earlier I used to use something else, but for the last few months, I have been using Wazirx. And I think it's good enough, it's pretty good, and the one that matters most is that the transaction charge is much less in it.

Many exchanges that I use, starting from indodax, bittrex, livecoin, kraken, kucoin, huobi. Because of the few coins that I can only get in certain exchanges. But my main exchange is only Indodax, because it can be directly sold to currencies in my country.

I selected the famous exchanges, ranking on the CMC. With highly- exchanges and many people using the platform is always one of the deciding factors to choose. Currently, I am using Binance because this is the most popular exchange platform today and attracted the most users.

I haven't tried this Gemini exchange, but I am more on security and profit sharing, that is why Kucoin for me is the best exchange in the market, even if it is not highly ranked in the market, the security is awesome, profit sharing is great, it's everything you are looking for an exchange, the support I forgot to mention is top notch.

Well one of my favorite would be localbitcoins (https://localbitcoins.com) .
But there are so many Bitcoin exchange nowadays and it is hard to trust your funds or leave it to them .
We just witness another great exchange platform being hack so we should always be the one to hold our own crypto.

In my opinion and my personal experience about crypto exchanges i would like to use YoBit.Net exchange and trading and i think that it can fulfill my needs. There are so many exchanges in the world but we can use whatever is  easy to me and convenient for me so binance is also a good exchange but i have no experience with that.

This is the first time I heard of Gemini. Before the hack I personally like binance since it's one of the exchange with high daily volume. I am not sure what changes will be made in binance security after the recent event, they might get tighter and KYC might become mandatory for accounts. Most people are always after scalability and convenience and not to mention security when looking for exchange. However, I think no centralized exchange is secured. Just never leave finds inside a platform.

Many here sure love Binance even though there are controversies behind the hacking incident, And well I am one of them that likes to use this exchange, I would say it is convenient and easy to understand, When I was a newbie in using it for the first time I didn't really get any hard time using it, So I am recommending it to all newbie's that would like to use an exchange to try and create their own Binance account.

Well, I can't deny that my favorite exchange just got hack lately, yes, it's Binance, and glad that they are back in old form now.

The real question is... What is your favorite Bitcoin exchange?

It's still Binance on top of my list, although I'm not a big trader, their 2 BTC withdrawals without KYC is good enough for me.

OKex is fine as well, never had bad experience with them. And when it comes to shitcoins and pumps, I like HitBTC, yeah, I know, almost everyone here frown them, but hey, still good for me.  ;D

My favorite Exchange is Binance, Indodax, Forkdelta, Idex. Although 3 exchange above still foreign in the eyes of investors, I'm sure 3 exchange that I mention will be liked a lot of traders.

I am with one of the oldtimers  <Daniel J> with this one, by saying "None of the above".  :P

Centralized exchanges was introduced as a service to make it easier for people to "buy" and "sell" bitcoins, until the capitalists and the FBI man got their claws into it. Now it is fully regulated and all pseudo anonymity is gone with all the KYC/AML regulations that was introduced.  ::)

It might be convenient to use these services, but you are sacrificing much more than what you are gaining. <Financial privacy>  >:(

Besides getting stuck on one exchange it's better to explore others as well, especially the emerging exchanges because they are cop-up with advanced technology and are offering some extra-advantages to users.

Yeah definitely, Binance has the best scheme on providing a fund to cover the stolen assets of their customers. That is what made Binance more steps higher compared to other exchanges, they have proven that their customers are more important than the profit of the platform. Binance is originally made to be an exchange for alts, but is now best for trading even the top cryptocurrencies.

Kucoin and LATOKEN to me, Kucoin because of the outstanding support, they will resolve your issue as fast as they can, security so far we never read of any hacking involving Kucoin, and of course profit sharing, perks for traders, LATOKEN because some of my coins can only be traded herem it's much easier to get a coin here than anywhere else.

KuCoin is the best exchange for me in different assets. Their platform is very user-friendly and very essential to those beginners in cryptocurrency. I really hate DEX or Decentralized exchanges because it has higher fees but has lower volumes. So I'll stick with centralized exchanges because it's legit and might give you fair trading.

Today's assets are being listed in DEX after an ICO. Usually, it's just dumping their own asset and running with the money they have earned during ICO.

But if you want a very good exchange to buy bitcoin, in my opinion bittrex is also good but unfortunately the registration and kyc are quite difficult

I started using OKEx exchanges from the very beginning of buying and learning about cryptocurrency, especially bitcoin. I think OKEx is a fairly long exchange. And I make an exchange must see the volume. Maybe so far many people have used the Binance exchange, but since binance experienced hacking I began to worry about using it. I hope that it won't happen again to other binance or exchanges.

To me I prefer binance because it young and effective with easy features that allow you not to be able to withdrew more then 2 bitcoin a day except you are a verify user. It a great thing that we have great exchanges that offer wonderful features.

An exchange which doesnt ask for kyc verification if your only wanting to trade your altcoin for bitcoin or bitcoin for altcoin.
Of course you would need to do small amount low enough so they wouldnt ask you to provide information so to go through the verification process.
I use stex for this reason as they have been good and process their withdrawals instantly with just an email confirmation.

I use okex and binance. The user interface of both are really good and intuitive. The former's flat fee is high though so I tend to use the latter more frequently. Also since I hold a fair amount of BNB the experience of trading in it is excellent.

I myself use a local exchange to buy Bitcoin and altcoin in my country of residence. Apart from being cheaper than I bought from abroad, this site is very safe and reliable, and I also use IDEX to exchange altcoins, with this one coin exchange because all the coins listed here are ERC-2O or Ethereum based.

For bitcoin exchange I usually use changelly, I have used this exchange for several years and I haven't experience any problems so far.

I am a trader so I prefer an exchange that can exchange my money directly, though there are big exchanges right now that you can rely on if you want to exchange and trade like binance, okex and other top exchanges. I guess, the choice of any exchange will depend to your experience and being consistent especially if you didn't encounter problems then you will surely continue in using it.

Bitstamp is my favorite bitcoin exchange. It has a good liquidity and the fiat withdrawals are very fast. The only downside is that their trading fees are bit high when compared to other exchanges. Furthermore, Bitwise's report about cryptocurrency exchanges recognized Bitstamp as an exchange with no fake volume which is really good. They recently got the Bitlicense as well.

Apart from Bitstamp, Binance also a good one as it has lot of popular tokens with good liquidity with competitive trading fees.

Currently, my country has some quite famous Bitcoin exchanges and many users such as Remitano, Kenniex, ... Because they provide very convenient payment solutions. Most Vietnamese want to sell bitcoin and get their money right into their bank accounts, which the above exchanges can do very well and quickly. In addition, their support team is quite quick and dedicated. Because it is a floor created by Vietnamese people (At least I think so), their support team uses the native language very well. That's why they became so successful and loved by many people in my country.

I use centralized exchange just for trading place and never took a large amount to store on it, yeah you will know that's very risky. Sometimes ago binance has hacked and 7.000 be stolen and this showed up there is no safe way to keep our assets on exchange. However, when I trading I always use localbitcoin or binance so far, I use local bitcoin if I don't have asset cryptocurrency to trade and I should buy first. And I use binance when I got paid form signature campain and I never withdraw all of money but I leaving it a half for I trading.

No wonder why a lot of people will still choose this exchanges despite of hacking issues because it gains already trust from us. Hacking might not a good issue cause it affect the security of individual funds but it can't be reason why we just lost our trust for Binance easily.
We can resolve it actually and improve the security to the high level to prevent from recurrence.

With all the problems with the centralized ones this will drive them away from using them with their takes of high commission and horrible rates.

I haven't used Kraken or Gemini at all, so I don't have an idea about those exchange. Although I don't know that they allow or not my country. I often to trade in Binance, Bittrex, Bitmex and sometimes in Poloniex but that is not my favorite since I don't have any favorite bitcoin exchanges. I think every bitcoin exchange has almost the same function, and the difference is the fee that was applied to each exchange. I don't know much about Gemini, but I know a few about Kraken although I don't trade too often in both Kraken and Gemini like you.

I still prefer to trade in Binance and Bittrex for trading altcoin and bitcoin at the same time because so far, I don't have a problem and I can feel comfortable to trade in those exchange. We should have this feeling so we can stay and enjoy our time in trading and that will help us to make a better analysis.

Most of the times when I need to do an exchange I use Binance or Kucoin but I can't say I have a favorite. At the end of the day all exchanges that are in top are good enough for anyone and it's just a matter of choices for someone to choose whichever one they like. All of them are trustworthy and the fees are quite the same unless you exchange huge amount of money and you can about every percentage.

My favourite exchange is Binance and Bitrex both of these exchanges are reached the big level of coins circulation and volume for all the cryptocurrencies since last peak value. I love to use Binance android app to utilize the payment and trading with ease of access.

I wish bittrex also needs to create their own application to use without any problem.

I don't know if this was categorical as a favorite, but I much prefer to buy on my local bitcoin exchange, well it's my first exchange and to be honest I don't use any exchange beside that one.

Why it's my favorite?? like what I said, it was a never a choice, it's a default thing when it comes to buying bitcoin over here, so I just stick with buying/selling bitcoin there.

CoinMetro.com is in relatively early stages but I've gone over to 100% believing in it (holding their token which works a bit like BNB but more use cases).
they're very regulation friendly = will survive in the legal aspect, with a very experienced CEO, who for example knows that an exchange won't be able to survive solely on trading fees etc.
They currently have a new member raffle to win 5000 XCM (if signing up using an ambassador link) - more information (https://bit.ly/2VT8uP9)

but there's fiat SEPA/SWIFT/Credit card deposits, fiat withdrawals, fiat/crypto withdrawals,
EUR pairings for all listings (soon to hopefully be 3 new listings per week).
margin trading with all listings.
etc. even if one isn't interested to buy the XCM token (which is very undervalued imo), it's a great exchange to use in general.
24/7 support even which is very rare!

I agree with you, even though the news of binary hacking has spread widely but users still use binance and still give their trust in one of the biggest exchanges.

Binance, local exchange, Bittrex, Kucoin, and HitBTC.  in my opinion, that exchange is very easy to use, has a high crypto trading volume, and safe.  I'm not comfortable using another exchange.  and that is the best exchange you have ever used for trading.

You don't have to be scare as users accounts were not affected, according to binance, it's SAFU.
Trust them, they are in the business for too long and were able to maintain and even improve their status in the market.

Scare why? because you put huge money on that exchange?
Don't be scared if you know that your money is safe and Binance is doing their best and that is why they are still the number one exchange until now. Personally I like binance and of course poloniex for good.

I dont really sell much but when I do I use Coinbase.. been using their site since 2015 I guess and I would not change it for any other exchange.. they have really low fees and the money transfer (to bank account) is quite fast to be honest, it normally takes only a couple hours

I did also use coinbase on the past but not now because i find a better alternative  .  Alot of users are saying that coinabse have gone bad lately

Don't be scared if you know that your money is safe - we dont know if our money will be safe because everything online is hackable  . Binance and other top exchangers have no execption to this

My favorite Bitcoin exchanges are our local exchange which is triv and Bittrex I'd say, they have good customer support and their service is top notch compared with other "reputable" exchanges that suffered with horrible supports. Even though our local exchange only has limited coins but I trust them.

Wex.nz (formerly BTC-e) used to be my favorite exchange, until they closed down a few months back. Cryptopia was also one of my favorites, but they decided to close down their operations this month. A lot of the users have recommended Binance, but I am not a big fan of that exchange and I don't have an account with them. Right now for trading purposes, I am mostly using Livecoin and Bittrex. They have been around for a while, and the UI is quite comfortable for me.

Coinbase is fast but it also is compliant. Full KYC, reports on your activity rather high fees for selling cryptos for fiat. The positive features of coinbase are: safety and free exchanging between different cryptocurrencies. Also withdrawal fees are low.

I like Coinbase too because it's convenient. Binance is good too despite all hacks and problems it faces.

A lot of exchanges site that you use. In your list as of now I use two Binance and Hitbtc . We know Binance have problems because of hacking millions of dollars but even that happen my trust to Binance is still there and I think only few traders leave and still have more traders trade in Binance because until now Binance have high volume.

I stick to the large top 10 exchanges with (relatively) real volume: Bitstamp, Kraken, Bitfinex, Binance, Bittrex. I only use an exchange like HitBTC if there is some coin that I need to buy/sell which isn't listed on the major ones.

I'd be careful with most of the other small/medium exchanges -- they are just not reliable enough. You all see what happened with Cryptopia recently. Remember that during the frenzy of 2017 Cryptopia was one of the most popular exchanges for people to buy microcaps... 1.5 years later and it's gone.

I think I will go for our local exchange, coins.ph.

It's been years and I kept on using the same exchange, I am so used to it and when I try other exchange, I feel odd or misplaced since I am not used to that kind of service and also style. The reason I fell for this exchange is that it can be used in a lot of ways, as a person that usually plays some online games and being a person in this country, it is so helpful for me.

I am not a frequent trader, so use the exchanges mostly to convert alts to BTC or ETH, and to convert BTC/ETH to fiat. For this purpose, I believe that Livecoin is the best exchange out there. They don't ask for KYC information (as long as your trade volume is low), and the fee is also very reasonable. I have been using that exchange for more than two years now, without any issues.

As long the exchange sites does not let your funds get snatched by some hackers and as long as they can promise a good security and has a good price, then I think that exchange site must be good to go. If I want my money to get transferred really fast, I would also prefer centralized exchanges since decentralized exchanges are slow when it comes to trading.

I don't trade a lot with altcoins. So exchanges such as Kraken and Bitstamp works perfect for me. The only irritant with these exchanges is the KYC requirement. But I guess we don't have any other option, especially since Wex.nz closed down. That said, I have accounts with at least two dozen exchanges. But Bistamp/Kraken remains my favorite exchanges. Cryptopia was also a favorite, but it is history now.

Binance remain my number one favorite despite the recent hack which I believed it can happen to any other exchange I still see Binance as the most trust worthy and secured exchange as they always stand by their words all funds in most cases are refund to investors and traders. Coinbene is another good exchange with good interface security is on a high side but, its always better not to rely on centralized exchange securities save your funds in a private Ledger 📒. I also see Decentralized exchanges as the best because they are not open to hackers.

For sure, Binance is a great survivor. While the same hack that occurred with that exchange should have killed others, it remained strong, steadfast and even wiser as it learned the big lesson so far on security and safety. The big reason why Binance is not affected that much is because it is ready for such eventually with the help of the SUFU it established beforehand...this softened the blow and made the exchange came back in no time at all. The management of Binance has the foresight and the vision which became reliable during the time of crisis. As for Coinbene, I am reading some good comments about that exchange too but I am not so much active in there though I think I got an account in that and I once traded a token before (months ago, I guess). There are other good exchanges actually and there will be more as there is right now an explosion in this industry but am sure that later on newcomers which are not truly ready will slowly realize they are not holding a good share of the market and will just wither away.

Coindeal is also still very young exchange and according to their medium (https://medium.com/coindeal/coindeal-21-06-c128378b3d9) they are entering the US market, which is a great step forward for them. It's obvious that such exchanges like binance or bittrex are giants, but i'm just glad that they have comptetion - it won't let them fall asleep with developing new features for their users.

I must admit it, CoinDeal is doing a great marketing job with coordinating their actions: entering new market, connected with giveaway of new coin is a really good idea.

I use localbitcoins for exchanging my cryptocurrency to the normal currency but in sometimes it will give the confident for me to make a trust in it so that I recommend it for everyone to try this it will be very useful.

For me i have no favorite bitcoin exchange  , it depends in the cryptocurrency that i hold where it is listed. They may have many exchanges markets but there is no perfect exchange when it comes into hacking because there are many cryptocurrency exchanges that have been hacked by hackers and steal all of their bitcoins and other cryptos.

My Favorite always used to be Poloniex, but their support took a really long time to respond I did get my account back now tho, since they got new managment and it seems they fixxed the long support que problems!
It used the be the number one exchange almost everyone used.

These days a lot has changed, Binance is probably a good one I dont really like the high fees and high minimum purchase or sell prices.

One I really like is the Waves Exhange it is build in to the wallet or your browser and works good, the transaction costs or exchange fees are in waves and are super low because of it, you can also buy other coins for super low amounts for example with 10000 satoshi only you can already buy another coin on the Waves Dex!
So Waves is really a recommended one in my opinion.
