Title: [Ban appeal] amacar1
Post by: amacar1-ban on May 20, 2019, 10:36:12 PM
Hi,

few hours ago I find out that my account (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=496352;sa=summary (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=496352;sa=summary)) was banned. I have already sent an email to provided email address but no response so far.
Anyway, I rarely comment and I can say that 99% of my comments are not copy paste (I can do mistakes too). I also wasn't participating in any signature campaign in last 2 years. I do have negative feedback  :( but I also have a lot of positive ones so I would still like to keep my account. It would be great if someone can check which comments were cause of my permanent ban and if perma ban can be changed to temporary ban.

Thanks, amacar1

By the way, I would like to suggest you to leave a link of your ban appeal there:
✅[UNBAN APPEAL] Total list + Unban progress (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5144410.0). I am not sure that admins or global moderators actually use that topic to have general overview on ban appeals in the forum or not, but they might use it. Hence, I think that you can leave your ban appeal topic in that one, and I also don't think doing this will be considered as ban evasion.
Your self-description that 99% of your posts are not copy&paste does not make sense, because a single plagiarism is enough to cause permanent ban if it has money-intentional purposes, and you did not have good net effect for the forum. @Veleor usually gives proof of plagiarism in most of ban appeals.
Let's wait patiently and don't make ban evasion.

AFAIK, this is against forum rules, he can only post in his ban appeal thread:
25. If you get banned (temporarily or permanently) and create a new account to continue posting / sending PMs, it's considered ban evasion. The only exception is creating a thread in Meta about your ban.

It would be better/safer if someone else reports it there on his behalf.

I was looking your profile and found that your so many posts involved in buying and selling accounts

Selling invites is allowed, but there are some restrictions in order to prevent people from selling accounts and invites obtained through hacking. In order to sell invites or accounts to invite-only sites, you must:
- Have some history here, with more history being required for trades of invites/accounts in bulk. Or,
- Have substantial history on reputable invite trading forums such as torrentinvites.org which prohibit selling hacked accounts. Or,
- Be vouched for by someone from one of the above two categories.

I can sell you this account: https://www.facebook.com/John.Middle.I.AM

PM me your offer

I can sell you one newbie with 98 potential.

Disclaimer: I have no idea who this user is... and don't care if they remain banned or not... just getting frustrated with the lynchmob mentality lately.

I was looking your profile and found that your so many posts involved in buying and selling accounts
~snip angry mob+pitchforks~
Can all the "Bitcointalk junior detectives"™ please stop jumping on the "you're banned for plagiarism" bandwagon and let the mods handle these appeals... :-\

Selling accounts is not against the rules, nor is it a bannable offence (unless you can prove hacking), despite anyone's personal feelings regarding the trustworthiness of anyone doing so.

Additionally, simply having multiple accounts is NOT "ban evasion" ::) ::) Creating new accounts or using Alts to post while one of your accounts is banned (outside of a meta ban appeal thread like this one) is "ban evasion". However, if you took the time to look these accounts up, rather than just running straight for your torch and pitchfork, you would have seen the last active times are:
amacar (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=190344): 2017-11-08, 00:19:31
jadisdiebrander (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=772211): 2018-07-12, 08:07:18
FeelTheBeat (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=353885): 2019-01-11, 08:17:21

Given amacar1 was banned in the last day... it's fairly obvious to anyone with half a brain that NONE of those accounts have been used for "ban evasion" ::)
