A new cryptocurrency is coming in 2020 by Facebook. Zuckerberg will try to partner with the governments and make it a bridge between his products like WhatsApp and Facebook.

Where could it be heading to?

I thought that facebook didn't even create an announcement about ETA of facebook coin. Some articles said if facebook has already contacted the crypto exchange site for that. but that coin will play as utility and that will be only become the currency that will have used in the platform.
Im feeling curious about where you get that clue about facebook coin will be launched on 2020?

I saw a ticker about that date (2020) on BBC.

Its still an speculation, no one can say where it will be heading until we saw the real product. As far as i know Facebook is a giant company, and if they invest more on cryptocurrency i believe it will be a top coin already. I know this is a good news, and maybe more big companies in 2020 will show their own coin so let’s all be ready.

I believe the chance of making it big in crypto is high as it is already backed by solid company, which is Facebook.
So no doubt, they can initiate their developments even without holding ICO, IEO or any crowdfunding campaign for that matter.
But we still need further information on how this coin will have an impact in the crypto industry or what difference would it give to the community...

Well, we still can't say where it is heading until we see them rocking and operating already. I've read also that it's likely Mark Zuckerberg will be teaming up with the Winklevoss twins.

If this news is true then this is something very good for the crypto world, Facebook is the largest community and network on the internet, if the Facebook business uses crypto then new users will arrive and lots of fresh money will come in

It will be used to purchase things within Facebook, so it will be a stablecoin. It won't be something that you can buy early in expectation of higher prices later on.
It will be good for crypto as it will help to legitimise BTC and the rest in the eyes of the wider public.

But I think the underlying purpose of the coin, as with everything Facebook does, is gathering personal data in order to sell it on to third parties. They already hoover up vast swathes of personal data, but they don't know our shopping habits very well - with this coin they will.

As it's just a stable coin it won't be worth investing in as the price won't rise. It will do wonders for bitcoin as facebook crypto coins will add more credibility for other currencies so it's worth stocking up on litecoin and bitcoin before this globalcoin comes out

Yup, this news is true. Facebook will launch their first coin called GlobalCoin and this coin itself is a centralized coin like ripple. Yes, even though it's only a utility coin in my opinion, this coin will be able to compete with the top 10 cmc now.
And at the same time in 2020, there will be bitcoin halving, I don't know if that year will be the year of crypto explosion.

I think it is normal for facebook to participate in the crypto market and it does not affect too much on other altcoins. because it is a stablecoin by default and investors cannot get any profit from it.
their purpose in creating a separate electronic currency because they want to pay the costs and services for faster crypto advertising on facebook.

This is an interesting development as I remember that Facebook once had even banned the cryptocurrency advertisements on their platform. Now they're going to launch their own.

Yep, they had banned crypto and ICO related advertisements a year ago. And my feeling was correct with that, that they were cooking something because they were eliminating their competitors.

Now, here they are proudly announced the launching of their stablecoin soon which will be used in their facebook related partners/sister company.

So to understand better the Facebook coin will be a stable coin or will be like most of crypto coins where the price never is stable? I really think if this will change something on market and if the price will grow for most crypto after they launch their coin or no.

It will help Facebook collect more datas about what you buy/sell. And who has the more money. After collecting the identities and ideas of peoples, they now want to collect the finance of their users.

We will see if this Facebook coin will really happen next year but for now it's still speculation so there's no assurance if this coin will launch. But it's look controversial if this happen and I feel many are wait for this, let's see what will happen.

It is definitely a great step by Mark. He knows that the crypto market is growing very strongly and the promotion of blockchain technology is expanding. If he upholds the ban on promoting crypto, he will lose a large amount of revenue in the future. Believe me, he will soon release terms to promote on Facebook and will charge a fee. shares of facebook will soon increase to 10-25% in the future. ;)

This will be great since it shall be coming from an established company like Facebook and the coin might perform well.
Personally, I do not like the idea of partnering with the government because it might be the beginning of tax payment on cryptocurrency.

Actually this is a nice bridge but I dont know if cryptocurrency or blockchain can be of any use to this, since they can create an ecosystem for their own affiliate and market clients. I've heard that it is a stable coin indeed. I guess it will be available in the market and will not do special events like bounty or airdrop. Facebook is already well known so it does not need third party promotion.

Also, I am thinking that we don't need another stable coin in the market because there are already multiple kinds of them. Hope Facebook changes their plan and make it a security token.

This can be considered a very smart strategy and if Facebook is involved, we will attract a very large community to join crypto. I think Facebook is on the right track and if it is possible to issue a GlobalCoin coin then i will definitely invest and keep long-term because this is a real company and everything has a very close connection with the big partners.

I think Facebook will launch stable coins like USDT, maybe Facebook ads and Instagram ads will not use credit cards again, they will use GlobalCoin for ads payment. Its more simple and easy to use because not everyone has a credit card.

We see headed to a world wide cryptocurrency recognition and adoption. The Crypto advert from Facebook will be massive and will subconsciously introduce most WhatsApp and Facebook users to cryptocurrency. This industry is getting bigger and bigger. Brace yourself!

I haven't read about the article so I don't know about the concept and purpose of GLOBALCOIN, whether it will only prioritize ADS and GAME payments on Facebook or it will be the same as other coins. Obviously there will be big prospects to follow.

Let's just see how his money talks to most of the people to gather lots of investors, he may gather some but this one is just like some kind of monopoly again that is being hyped by their devs and partners in business, not to mention BNB is doing like that. What could possibly be the use of their coin to make most of the people invest on it?

It could head to be the new establishment's favorite crypto currency. I can already imagine the media telling how smart was the move of Zuckerberg in creating his own currency and how superior it is compared to bitcoin and decentralized altcoins.
I believe they will try to show how a stable and centralized currency can be better than the whole crypto decentralized space.

I don't like this at all. What will happen when a lot of noobs new to crypto make mistake and lose all their money? That could spell bad news for Bitcoin.

They might only used it in Facebook, newbies will be hesitant to use crypto coins unless needed or came from popular brand. If so, they'll not be in any exchange. Maybe simply in Facebook where they can buy and sell through the app or platforms that globalcoin will exist.

The truth does not seem to me the idea that governments have to participate, because this gives much that can centralize the currency, they will take control and is something that should not be allowed, because this technology is decentralized in nature.

I think Mark Zuckenberg is wrong in this sense that he wants to take his project, if he is not going to launch it until 2020 I think he has to rectify many things and the most important thing is that he should not associate with governments, it is never and has not been good do it even with banking in general.

This is actually good for the crypto community. I'm saying so became Zuckerberg's platforms combined have at least a billion people using it hence integrating crypto means they're exposing all these people to Bitcoin and crypto. This is something worth praising.

There is absolutely no doubt about that, it is really going to come out as a stable coin and how many stable coins has been good for investment, none, this coin will serve more like a utility coin which is to be used by its social media users, mostly by businessmen and women using the platform to promote their products.

If they are to involve regular users, it will simply be in form of a little reward that will make anyone become a millionaire. They're not doing it for money only, they're doing it for better management of transactions. It's not like that they're totally inexperienced in this industry, as recently they talked to Winklevoss twins about this all.

That's what Facebook did before when they first announced of banning those ICO thingy ads. And now there's truly a quick change for everything, I'm now having that idea that those who did banned or prohibited bitcoin and crypto related stuffs can also completely change their decision in the future.

We don't need speculation about this coin because its price based on dollar price. The increasing and decreasing price will like the dollar price so I don't see any volatile to this coin. For an investment place is not good because your profit only small and a long time to make several percent to add your capital. Use this coin just for payment system because the first intention to created this coin is just for payment system. Use this coin as it should put hope in bitcoin or altcoin which is not stable coin or even as a centralized coin.

You think so? Billions of people who use global coin will really embrace crypto? No, they will love the idea of a coin that's inside FB, but no different from a coin inside a poker app or a farming game. Because first thing, it's on the trend and they can't miss this opportunity to ride the hype and trend because it will generate more profit to them. AFAIR, eoy of 2017 Mark Zuckerberg already said that he's studying and looking into crypto and blockchain.

And I think it was planned well by him, took some issues and actions that will make them take the advantage for their platform, turned the tables after banning it into liking and allowing crypto ads again.

Zuckerberg know how can be popular cryptocurrency in future and Him being a Internet expert I think he is waiting for the booming of the crypto’s in the near future that’s why he was investing now or maybe in past but secretly only

Of course they have enough money and more than enough,,, but you know how the rich become rich? They keep wanting more money. And who would not? Everyone sees Bitcoin and they see that it is an amazing creation. They think if you cannot beat them, why not join them? Why else do you think 99% of projects are centralized and half of that is all about corporations getting into "the game"?

I know that facebook will issue stable coin, it will also be circulated internally for their applications, not in the crypto market. There is not much information now that Facebook will release exactly the same day, although the expected time is 2020, but it can be completely changed.

It will be a good thing if this globalcoin is decentralized and has an approval of government but the way it is I think it is going to be a centralized coin! This Facebook develop coin is going to be one of the popular coin as Facebook has great users and it is easy to promote. I strongly believe that governments is going to give approval for this and majority of the financial institutions are going to use this.

I think your view is wrong this time around, 70% of people that are using Facebook are IT inclined and it won’t be much of a strange thing to them when they bring the coin to the notice of the public. The adoption might not be immediately, but Facebook as you know will have their tactics that will enable them gradually impose it on their users with time.

I mean their business users, because that will be their main target. If you look at most of the investor that ICO has successfully gotten are through social media and majority of them got to know about it through Facebook, so what makes you think they will not succeed now that it’s their own personal project.

There's another globalcoin(GLC) listed on coinmarketcap with a current price of 0.003 USD.
It looks like a dead altcoin with a 198K USD market cap.Perhaps all the hype about facebook's globalcoin will boost the price of this globalcoin?
Or the GLC dev team will try to patent the name globalcoin and sue facebook...

I have never been worried about Facebook coin ever since the rumor came out because I was sure that what they will create will be a stable coin to be used internally,so those who are thinking or believing that Facebook might replace bitcoin are just lost in their unrealistic thoughts as it will be impossible since they cannot perform same responsibility.

Moreover, it will really be less accepted because of its centralized nature, first, it’s going to be fully monitored by Facebook and at the same time government will also have access to its usage and activities which is not in line with what bitcoin was created for.
