Bitcoin is about to get a lot more expensive than it is today,
So is it possible to see Bitcoin price hovering around 100k each by next year and why?

This statement of next year seem unrealistic to me not because bitcoin can not get to $100k in the future but because the prediction is standing on next year. Next year from now is 7 months and January 2020 to December 2020 is one year, so mathematically, we have one year and seven months for 2020 to go away. The timing is what I'm looking at .

If you was seen that year by year bitcoin rising calculation then it's can do happening! but it's just assume and nothing more but if it's come about then will this day definitely fantastic day for every bitcoin holders! I wish this day will definitely coming up in near future!

My personal opinion is that it will hit it's all time high (around $20K) in 2020 as we can see that the BTC adoption is happening day by day. Therefore, there is a room to go up the BTC price naturally to it's all time high in 2020.  Hitting $100K also possible if there are lot of bullish news in 2020 from the key players like SEC. However, I believe that the probability to hit $100K in 2020 is low.

That's too  much of an expectation on 2020, you gotta measure how quick that would be. Someone who shall invest today can already  own big condo after a year without even taking a risk. Price the last bullrun only stays at 20k, which means by the time it may reach that price people will soon sell again. Halving may have to happen first before it can go beyond that 20k

I suppose it is impossible to reach $100k just in a couple of months, so better to leave these meaningless predictions and focus on the current situation and try to change at least something

oh i'm sure it is possible.... maybe we can see a much higher price if the adoption will push forward in this speed as it is currently doing. when we see some more shit like the hyperinflation in venezuela. those events are the catalyst for bitcoin

Yes. When bitcoin is in a bull market, it has a tendency to outperform even the most positive predictions in the space. Given that the halving will take place about a year from now, there will likely be a significant run-up. The question is how high will it go. I am not saying it will hit the six-figure mark, but I would not be shocked if it did.

Well, it is not entirely impossible but I highly doubt so. Even with the recent implementation of the Bakkt exchange, reaching $100,000 in this short amount of time requires extreme luck and prayer. In addition, reaching that kind of price would benefit most but I consider it as a double-edged sword in terms of transaction prices.

$100k is an unrealistic value to be attained by 2020, same time considering the growth as well as the previous price it has reached in the past gives bigger choice for $100k. With very few countries legal support and acceptance bitcoin reached $20000 by 2017, this way when more countries adopt cryptocurrency can expect $100k in the future.

I also think is hard to reach 100k$ next year because for this are need a lot of money to come to bitcoin market but maybe 30,40k is possible either before halving or after, but even so we have to expect to anything.

I trully believe that halvings will get bitcoin to the moon, as we use to say, but I don't really believe it will get to 100k USD by the end of 2020.. I would "predict" something from 50 to 60k USD instead

well, it is not impossible for bitcoin to reach 100k and it is not bad to be optimistic about bitcoin reaching 100k but I think
it's doubtful that bitcoin would be able to reach it this year although bitcoin price may increase or even reach a new record
but I just don't think 100k is possible right now.

It's a very vague supposition and I think it's not going to happen. As the last paragraph of the article says: what would make large sums of money enter in crypto market? Then the specialist says that commodity markets, countries in debt, troubled economies and big investors have more chances of investing in crypto market. That makes some sense, but it won't happen so fast and at same time to pump btc to 100k dollars by 2020!

Predictions like this make people believe bitcoin is a bubble or a ponzi scheme. In other words: they don't help bitcoin in any ways.

There is nothing to be surprised if Bitcoin reaches 100K. Bitcoin is now in a good position, it will be better in the future because everyone thinks it is. The government of many countries has now taken Bitcoin legally. The acceptability of the Bitcoin is increasing. In almost all cases of online media, Bitcoin is now getting the highest priority. So considering all aspects, it may be said that by 2020, Bitcoin value may be 100k.

This is very unlikely to happen and I would actually say its near impossible.  That is over a 10x from the current price and would put the total marketcap in the trillions.  Maybe bitcoin will reach those levels one day but it will take much longer.

Bitcoin will definitely increase in price how than today because block halving season usually boost the price of Bitcoin market to gain a new ATH but saying Bitcoin will cliche 100K price range seems unrealistic and it not everything that the crypto enthusiast said or writer wrote in an article are real.

Bitcoin can indeed be more expensive than today, but if you expect Bitcoin to reach 100k in 2020, you expect to be too excited.

This type of speculation belongs to speculation board in btc to gather more significant information regarding this. Actually there were a lot of speculation about the 2020 100k. I believe on many speculations that was once came true. Like bitcoin 6k on May and actually a lot of this. I think on 2020 there could be chances of it to come true but come what may.

I don't know about hitting 100k, as much as bitcoin is unpredictable in a good way, i mean back in 2017 it was able to go from 6k to almost 20k in just a couple of months, and back in march the price was about 3k and look at it now, it is really unknown buy how much the bitcoin is going to rise or how far it will go, but the most important and the most thing that i am confidant about is that bitcoin is actually going to rise no matter what, so just positive and hold and wait.

Impossible for next year, even I believe to the bitcoin reach $100,000 I will not see any reason for the bitcoin to hit that value for the short time only maybe takes few yeats before it reach after 2 to 3 years is possible but still little percentage to happen that and we all know that because we are know what is near to happen to the far possible price happen to bitcoin. But this price is high possible compared to $1M.

Bitcoin is rising but I don't think that it can hit 100k dollars in one year. We can see a value between 40-50k dollars but I don't expect more than that in 2020.

Nothing is precise in predicting and speculating, we don't know for sure and anything can happen. It was just cents when it was first introduced, it is 10 years already and look at where we are now. If things get well it could even go beyond what OP is predicting. We are not 100% sure what will happen because as you say we still have 7 months before 2020 and that could be enough time to turn the tables on.

Too much expensive bitcoin reach 100k  price at the year 2020, nothing bad expecting huge amount and to believe the capability of bitcoin but sometimes we need to accept the reality different difficult to expect that too much expensive expectations came from speculation.
We know how bitcoin moves being volatile decentralized crypto currency nobody can predict exact amount for their future value, all need to do,is focus this recent upcoming bull run than to expecting unrealistic prediction.

If we compare bull runs they always increased the price at least 4 times. In 2013 when we hit 300 dollars and went parabolic it stopped at more than 1100. Later we went 6 times the price from 3000 to 20000. This time if we start from 10 thousand we'll at least go parabolic to 50. This is my guess.

His timeline is really tight and considering bitcoin as 100k by next year is really not very possible. Maybe many years from now but next year? I really doubt such value will be attained. So my guess is no, bitcoin will not hit 100k by 2020. Great to hear but you need to be realistic with events.

No, Bitcoin will not hit 100K USD in 2020! Bitcoin has enough potential to overcome 100K USD, but it will take more time. This year is going to be a positive year for the crypto, not for the price, because of many big famous people, companies are joining in the crypto! So, By supporting them, Bitcoin can hit 100K USD within the next 5 years.

Yep i think its a possible if we look at BTC price history then we can see we ever can see a higher price than 100k and who could believed we could see 20k on 2017/ none if any said that on 2016 then all would be thought he is mad.

Yes. That is too much to expect for 2020. I think it will only reach between $20k-$30k. Although the market is very unpredictable, but having that certain amount has very less chances to be possible. Even if the market will be full of positive news that time, $100k has very low probabillity.

$50k isn't that realistic either, just imagine how much people are going to come into crypto once they realize this is a real gold mine, there has to lose before the  price  hit $20k again. That's why the peakest so far that I can see is also the previous ATH. Before it may even reach the previous ATH, people  are going to dump for profit.

Nothing is impossible to achieve 100k, because next year Bitcoin will practice halving, and the price will certainly be more expensive. We will see later.

Nobody knows how much bitcoin will hit price in 2020, expert traders also can't predict . but i think, it's how about adopt people to cryptocurrency. many people make adopt cryptocurrency or adopt blockchain technology it will make grow up bitcoin price. so, not possible if bitcoin can reach 100k $ in 2020

If only peoples are started to accepted bitcoin it might be happen but in reality i dont think it will happen. The government might be doing something to stop bitcoin grow. For me it more better to see bitcoin growing slow rather then it going to spike overnight and then being dump by whales after that. So that will make a huge lose for a newcomer that might lose their live saving to a manipulated market by a whales.

if in 2020 Bitcoin surges as fast as that, I think it's is not possible and if that happens then there is something that causes Bitcoin prices to grow as fast as that or vice versa down. let the time answer everything and now we will soon enter years 2020, hopefully the guess or prediction is true.

We can see that institutions are slowing accepting bitcoins and crypto currencies. WhatsApp , Facebook and Samsung all being involved in crypto in some way. As soon as more people will have bitcoins, whales manipulation will be less.



Remember that 2020 is a halving year and prices do surges right after halving. We are in for another bull run at the end of 2020.

It is impossible, it is too fast. Bitcoin price is determined by supply and demand. Imagine how much demand that needed to make bitcoin reach 100k in 2020. Actually it can be calculated by using certain curve. We can found about it in the micro economic subject.

The predictions can be done by everyone. But I do not think that one can jump from one to the other in a different way. Every job has a chain and command. I think 30k could go.

This is more likely a speculation thread since there is no actual fact that can determine that Bitcoin will really hit $100k by the year 2020.  As much as I am bullish to Bitcoin, the current infrastucture of Bitcoin, its market and stage of adoption cannot really support the price.  I think  Bitcoin needs more than BAKKT to rally BTC price to more than $30k  a piece, there maybe halving on the year 2020 but I also think that is not sufficient to push the price more than $60k if we consider that it will double the price of Bitcoin on that time which I think is really impossible.  Another thing is, everytime Bitcoin established a higher price, and it hits some percentage gain, many traders short it, taking profit.  The reason for retracement and consildation during bull run.  In short, it will take more than a year or two or probably more before we can see BTC to hit $100k.

$100k is too exaggerated. Even halving will occur next year, I would think it will be possible to hit around $15k. Even though this is cryptocurrency, that $100k is too impossible next year. In the future, it will gonna reach since the market is so volatile. But it will take longer before that happens.

Sounds too good to be true ,I never expect bitcoin to surge up to 100k per one even after halving took place ,its like expecting way too much from the currency but nothing is impossible ,if that happens crypto space will be stormed by millions on investors

If the things around bitcoin is quite positive I think that's possible and ofcourse that'll likely take a long time to happen however it's still possible, more realistic approach is maybe $20K and that alone is enough to get more people pumped just like you said it's more realistic, maybe people should chill a little bit.

Even if it's $50,000, I would  certainly be happy with that, but if it goes higher, then that shows bitcoin is going to moon again.
But then again, it was just a speculation, doesn't matter who gives that as we all know there are a lot of experts who make wrong predictions also, especially during the last bear market, and now they are back claiming again bitcoin to rise that high.

The possibilities are open but we need a realistic data or updates on how and what will make Bitcoin to reach that price in just a short period of time I have no doubt that Bitcoin price will have it's highest potential at 6 digits but with only a year I doubt that, even the latest news about ETF or Facebook cannot make it happen.

Its possible for BTC to hit that price in 2020. Many companies are adopting bitcoin and its technology so fast. The more the. Adoption of bitcoin the more the demand which will lead to high price.

I don't know whatsup with this exceptionally high price predictions the fact is : for something to just hit that big it does need some major like real major backups like some countries government supporting it and backing it up by their major banks .
What I see is , it's impossible at this point , it's better to make predictions that are actually reasonable.
Even the point of it crossing what it was in 2017 is something that might not happen in this year or so.

This is very very unpredictable i see. If we see last one year that market is too much volatile and anything can happen in this market. But 100k price is highly Ambient for everybody. So don't think out of your hand and that may make you fall in danger. We just wait and see for next year.

I believe if bitcoin will experience an increase in prices during 2019 and the following year, but if you expect Bitcoin to have a price of $ 100 000 it is too impossible that it will happen in just 1 year from now, the article you gave about price increases will reach $ 100 000 too exaggerating

This has been going on for years now, can bitcoin reach X price at X time, alot of people have unreal expectation for the bitcoin price, i think people who thinks like this are just here to become rich effortlessly which i don't blame them.

How many people predicted that bitcoin will reach 20K by end of 2017 ? Many people were of the view that 10,000$ would be the maximum bitcoin can reach in 2017 but bitcoin did manage to move up the expectations. Now people are aiming for 50K or 100K bitcoin price and i am sure bitcoin will keep up with these expectations too.

It all depends on level of mass adoption. If the price increases due only to news and massive speculation, it will increase parabolic ally and I'm sure it would negatively affect the long term price. I personally think that a year or two is not enough if we want an natural growth to 100k$.

Its over prediction and hope that it could touch 100k .The recent market situation telling us that it will climb the up to the mountain .However It look like towards 10k .The trend are so strong we can hope the moving will be fast to the up but we can't expect it to the over . Looking at what's happening in the crypto market just now, there are good possibilities that Bitcoin might be able to hit the 100k price assumption in 2020 but there is also another possibility of it dropping down back to $3k in 2020. The crypto ecosystem is very unpredictable and things can change within a matter of seconds.

I have quite high confidence that Bitcoin will hit $100k during the current bull market, but I think the market won't reach its next peak until 2021, so I don't think it'll pass $100k until 2021.

I do think it'll pass $20k next year which will set off the next crazy FOMO part of this market cycle, like passing the old ATH peak always does, but I think we'll see 2020 close with the FOMO only partially done, maybe it'll be like $40k or something when 2020 closes and will hit $100k in the first 6 months of 2021. That'd be my guess.


Though with that said, so far this bull market is moving fast. I think that is because institutional investors have been dipping their toes in during the bottom and during this young bull market. So I could potentially see this cycle going quicker than the last one (just as the bear market and the bottom of the market were both shorter than the ones in the last cycle in 2014/2015). So I think it is possible that this bull run goes quicker and ends by the end of 2020. It all depends on if institutional investors stay in until $100k or if they bail part way up after getting what is for them incredible returns, perhaps not wanting to risk it further later in the bull market. Anyway, we'll see how it all plays out.

I doubt it, $100k is alot to achieve from $8000 right now. Maybe the price will hit over $10k when an ETF is approved. It could very well go to $20k, but anything more would be inflated and would crash hard. Only time will tell for sure!

There are a lot of experts prediction about the price of Bitcoin and I do believe in some of their predictions, but a $100k for just a year is not realistic for me, there should be good data backed by why it should go on that level this early and I don't believe in just the production value as stated by that article.

well i dont think so, its true that we are now on bull market but 100k is too unrealistic. I do think bitcoin will hit the new high but i think 100k is impossible but it might be real and maybe it would take some years.

I don’t think there is any logical way to say about this. But one thing is for sure and that is the popularity of Cryptos. It is for sure on high and for obvious reasons too. So we could see something like that a very much realistic possibility. However, there is just nothing that can be guaranteed. So we have to avoid that fixed mind set. However, next year Bitcoin will not reach the price of one hundred thousand dollars. Vseravno in such a sharp rise in its price, I do not believe. 20 000 - 25 000 can still be, although this is problematic, but not 100 000 dollars. Can you imagine how Bitcoin holders will sell it when it starts to grow so sharply? It all depends upon how the market will decide according to the investments coming in, there is a lot of manipulation in the market and we all know that and since majority of the countries have no regulation regarding this, these sort of things will happen and we might see a bull run over $100k in the next few years, but the main question you have to ask is, will the market stay above $100k for a long period of time or will it be a bubble ?.

We have different perspection on speculating bitcoin's future, some are doubt and frustrated but mostly are encouraging and positive. As long as a lot of people who keep and resemble this asset, there is always a chance that bitcoin's price will reach up to $100k, just be determined and positive on engaging consequences. There is a possibility basing on the history of price movement of bitcoin, it the early stage bitcoin was around $0.008–$0.08 based on my research and if you will compare that price now, that means a huge increase that people never imagine in the early stage.

100k is very un-realistic in my opinion. ideal would be btc back to around 20k at end of this year with maybe peaking somewhere around 24-25k sometime.then in 2020 we can hope for 40k ishh or atmost 50k.

I’m very confident about bitcoin but a price like this needs more time. We are on the middle of 2019 and yet the price is still below $10k so its too impossible to reach a higher level even if there’s a big news. $100k is unrealistice for me in 2020, i don’t want to fee FOMO.

$100k will be a very highest price in that year, and that will make all people will be happy to sell their bitcoin, especially for people who have a lot of bitcoin. It could be happening in the future since we don't have any clue about the future. But I guess many people are willing to waiting for that price and they will try to save more and more bitcoin from now on. The price now does not reach $10k as the other says so we can buy from a small amount of bitcoin and hold it into our wallet.

Never say never - I think it's definitely a possibility, but there are a few factors to think about when speculating BTC prices. Like all currencies virtual or otherwise, it's still subject to the market cycle. Even with BTC's current bullish run, from now till 2020 we're going to see quite a lot of highs and lows throughout and I personally think that with the time period and market cycle - it'll take sharp growths in order for the price to grow exponentially to 100k. I think that is very possible because in 2020 bitcoin will experience hardfork and it will reduce mining rewards, bitcoin will be difficult to get and make the price go up

100k in 2020 is a large chunk to take in  ;D. Anyway we are all aware of the way bitcoin has started increasing in price but i strongly think it's way too early to call for such a huge price of bitcoin by next year, From the little reading that i have done, the price by 2020 would be hovering within the ranges of $15k-$20k.

If the price bitcoin has reached $20.000 then we will look for the new ATH again. But I doubt if the price bitcoin can be reach 100k the end of this years. Maybe we can find the realistic price such as $30.000 till $50.000 that will be reach by bitcoin. I'm happy with the increased price at this time because I can buy when its price still $4200 and it will be good I'll sell it before the correction comes.

Theoretically it can reach that level, but I wouldn't be that optimistic. By mid 2020 we'll be having the block reward halving. The impact of that event will be visible only after 12 to 18 months. So in all probability, by 2022 or 2023 we'll be having a new ATH. But then, I don't know whether there will be enough momentum to take it past the 100k mark.

but I think it's too big to reach that target and it's very fast, even though I know bitcoin can achieve it quickly but this must be supported by good news and support from the popes. My speculation in 2020 is that at least Bitcoin was able to penetrate the year 2017, after which it arrived at which point.


I think for this if it's really achieved bitcoin will drop like last 2017, if $ 100k is reached at least bitcoin will drop to $ 20k / $ 30k. The market is always fluctuating, there are times when bitcoin will stay at $ 100k, just waiting for a few more stages...

This is a good analogy when it comes to big rallies in bitcoin yet we are experiencing a big movement in bitcoin price and it is on the verge of touching $9k and i did not expect a turn around in the market situation this early, your analysis is correct as the price usually moves higher after the halving and usually touches the all time high valuation within one year of halving but since this is a new market anything is possible and you cannot exactly predict how the price will move.

That is too good to be true just like cloud mining promises. Of course it is better to start slow maybe a $20k for the next year to prevent inexperienced people calling it a bubble again. $100k is still far enough to happen. All we could do is to stay positive and wait for the bitcoin reach a new milestone little by little.

Anything in possible, but that's quite a jump. I'd probably estimate a risk back to 25K (originally selling point), and then a dropdown back to 15K to settle for a while.

Next year is an important year for bitcoin, it may not hit $100k but we are definitely not going to see it buy cheap like we currently have now, there will be much hoarding of bitcoin as reward per block is halved. 

2020 is just a few months away and predicting 100k is impossible to achieve. If you are targeting 10k as at 2020 no doubt about that but for 100k it is going to take a magic and miracle to even get to half of that by the end of 2020.

A $100k bitcoins are possible, even in late 2019 but we always need to ask our self who would be buying bitcoins when we get up around $100.000 for each coin.

A 100,000 bitcoins means that people expect that bitcoins will continue going up in the months to come.

I do not know whether such an event is possible, because it is a very large amount. This requires that bitcoin continues to grow continuously and perhaps it will be able to achieve this value.

There's such a possibility if we are to go by Bitcoin potentials, if by what Bitcoin attained during the last Bull run in 2017 still have anything to by, then Bitcoin need just to top-up with X10 to get there, and it's very possible. Also, 2020 is the Bitcoin halve and there's tendency for such ATH.

Bitcoin surely has that potential to reach that price but this would be based on a very big news in the crypto industry. My guesses would be;
1. An approval of a Bitcoin ETF
2. China and USA legalizing cryptocurrencies
These together with some other major news are the only triggers that can make bitcoin reach such a high price by 2020.

Price will surely increase if the usage is increased but 100k is way too much. It might rise up to 30K max.

100k hit are possible when price same stable right now and new investor become to adopting bitcoin as payment and learning how to blockchain worked.

I would love to see Bitcoin in that value but i think the value is very impossible as the more Bitcoin will become more expensive is the more difficult to purchase for an investment. Most of the crypto users are small time investors in which they might choose cheaper Altcoins than Bitcoin therefore $100k is a very ambitious move.

I think this too huge increase if bitcoin can hit in 100k. But it is not impossible if the price will continue or maintain it's stability or continue to increase. We see the number of investors that already invest in bitcoin and the number of merchant who already now accepting bitcoin as a payment so it makes bitcoin more in demand.

$100K price of bitcoin is too high to be attained within the next seven months this is a mere exaggeration IMO I understand that the price of bitcoin is becoming very expensive these days due to its bullish volatility however that does not necessarily indicates a massive pump will be on the horizon before next at least the price has to break the $20K  mark ATH attained in 2017 before heading upward.

I don't know why there is some people who made a crazy prediction againts the price of bitcoin. I hope they make a prediction with see the market condition or the price condition and make these predictions as rational as possible. Bitcoin is not a magic, need a procces need a time for the price goes up and may we will always see the correction. I never thought bitcoin will touch $100.000 at this year because it is impossible.

anything can happen, current prices, current market conditions and some issues that occur in bitcoin are not benchmarks. because something surprising can happen to bitcoin, then something like that can happen too.

that's probably because they were too excited to see the increase in bitcoin prices that occurred this year, so big speculations continued to emerge. however, it is still quite difficult to think of the price of bitcoin can reach that price. for now, I'm still waiting for the price of bitcoin to reach a price of $ 10000. that might be a price that is worth the wait now. to speculate the price of bitcoin to be $ 100,000, maybe the price of bitcoin must be $ 50,000 first.

I think we'll hit 100K, but not this year or next year maybe longer.
But who can really foretell. Nobody expected btc to hit $20,000 last 2017 and it started with only at around $1,000 last Jan 2017.

Almost zero chance, since there is so many BTC in a small number of wallets, the dumping whales will slow down huge rallies.

Even though someone a high profiled investor or a group of whales will pronounce such increase but, do we think that it will come into real? If course,  we surely think that is impossible and it is too far from the reality.

We don't need to aim high nor to chase such price cause possible thing will happen after will nobody could afford used bitcoin

I think the possibility of bitcoin reaching 100k in 2020 is difficult to achieve, but for the price of 20k - 25k it is likely to still be achieved.

The marketcap would still be quite realistic even if it hit 100k, even 1m is somewhat possible, not in 2020 but eventually, could happen. The market cap would still be realistic, these long term predictions, though, are quite useless as no one can account for all the variables, which are simply too many. Bitcoin could even die by 2020. It is looking really good for 2019 and might reach 20k again, we will see.

It's hard to say right now if bitcoin will hit a 100k price because if you see the price now is far to what you want to expect. Maybe someday we reach that price. We have many things will be experience in crypto, let observe and don't stop to learn about crypto because it will help to in the future.

I'm optimistic but this kind of price next year seems unrealistic for me. I'll think of it later if the price reach $50k. As of now, i'm thinking of when will the price break $10k. It's not bad to dream such price, of course, who wouldn't want it but don't overthink and just focus on where we are right now. Soon, we will reach it one by one.

   I agree, as time runs in crypto world we can't determine how bitcoin's future hold but only speculating a positive motivation. Still, I am optimist and hold the thought of having great bull trend in the near future, it merely hit $100k or beyond as long as we keep resembling and positive of its outgrow.

With comparison to the usage, acceptance level, number of users, support from the governments over the year 2017 we can have a conclusion whether it is achievable or not. Regularly if one firm has closed accepting bitcoin two firms start to accept bitcoin into their businesses. This way the growth in all level continues, similar to it can expect growth with time. On such a calculation I believe $100k is achievable without any deadline.

I think that is possible that we can see a $100.000 bitcoin as soon as 2020, the demand for bitcoins are still high, even when we see massiv whale dumping the market seems to buy up the dip. And we can also see that the wallet of the exchange keep scrumping, and new people are eash day buying up fractions of bitcoins, I think that we will see real shortness of cheap bitcoins after next halving, and that will push bitcoins up to new all times highs.
