Dogs has too many coins, no way it will do it this year or ever. Other two seem problematic as well. I like Huntercoin, it's got a built in game, but not sure much else will be developed for it. I'd like Verticoin to make it or darkcoin since it seems truly innovative.

Very well said, I strongly recommend you consider checking out Einsteinium coin (EMC2) for all the very same reasons you mentioned, it is new and has a philanthropic objective to give a percentage of the blocks mined to science related programs and charities, plus roughly only 299 000 000 coins can be mined. In the end though, what really matters is what innovation, if any, a new alt-coin is bringing to the table. Prices are irrelevant for an alt-coin if they're just gonna be pumped, dumped, and forgotten.
