My idea is that you can know that by visiting exchanges. A huge order for buy can indicate that. I'm thinking this is one possible and simple way that can be detected.

Yes, through charts it's possible to have an idea about how the funds are splitted among the addresses. Like this site for an example: https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-bitcoin%20sv-addresses.html
On that site you can find informations about how much addresses of a respective currency are hodling approximately.
To know if whales are accumulating more coins, you need to follow it and compare past and present charts: if the number of addresses hodling many coins is decreasing or increasing. Unfortunatelly there isn't information about many currencies, and some of them are not possible to know, like eth.

You know they are buying because the price of btc and most of the altcoin are also going up. But you already know that because that is how the market works of course.
Its the uptrend pattern that had been happening for weeks now so higher lows must be where they buy so the price bounce higher than the last bounce. Those who follow their trade could end up burned.

WOW! I was hoping for an answer like this! Great tools, it's there anyways to know whether the smaller caps altcoins are currently accumulating or no?

Whales are sometimes secretive even if you have opportunity to have a chat with them you might still not have an idea of how many coins they have in there possession. But you can check thorough their wallet address and monitor transactions and you would have a little bit of an idea

Sometimes is hard to know because some whales send bitcoin or other crypto coins to more than one address and on this way is much hard to know, but maybe only of the price grow is a sign that whales buy, but not always.

If BTC is %80+ down from the ATH that's where you'd want to start accumulating.

That's when the whales started accumulating.

This website is a keeper:
https://athcoinindex.com/

BTC is only %55 down from its ATH while this is still a good price to get in, It probably doesn't make sense to go all in from now on. Go all in price has long gone.

By knowing this you can only improve your decision zone because it helps you in which direction the market is running. When there occur sudden fall or sudden jump in price you should get that whales either sell their coins or buy more coins. When whales invest more the price starts improving and increasing much more but when they sell out all their coins then the market price follows the down side.

I think that you will not find out in any way. Moreover, there is such a thing as over-the-counter trading. You will understand that the whales have already purchased, when the price sharply flies up.

I use my gut feeling on this one.

I believe they will accumulate at dip and for example BTC, the dip price was around $3K+, so I guess they buy huge amount at that time.
Now comes the bull market, they might have dump already and other whales are buying the dump believe the price will still continue to rise.

Whatever they do, they do it better as they are smart and here to make profit in short term.

There is no central method to know about the whales accumulating a particular coin or token, also you can not wake up one day and know the coin that are been bought by whales unless pump and dump folks.
The easier method is to have your set of coins and watch their progress from time to time for at least 1 week or two, you will know a little history about the coins when you monitor it properly, things like daily range, volume etc

Well most of this whales make their orders on big exchanges, so the way you could know that they are purchasing a coin is by checking this exchanges to see the orders that have been placed in their market, when you see orders that are very large, then you should know that it's an handwork of a whale, I don't think you will be able to check from just the charts since they are going to buy the coin at the current rate it is, price might not be affected at first.

This one really hard to know because whales always have secret plan and sometimes they buy altcoin with small amount but in many times. And they also sent their altcoin with different address. Sometimes they also playing with price so they can buy little by little.

You need to look at the total trading volume on CMC to analyze and judge that. As the volume of trading increases, whales are buying or selling Bitcoin. Pay attention to the Buy section on the exchanges, when someone buys a purchase with a vast amount of money, meaning that the whale is about to implement their new plan.

If there's a big pump on a specific coins and I think that is the time whales are accumulating.
I don't know their strategies but I think if you own a lot of bitcoin, then you can buy and sell without having any strategies because you can control the market price since you have more holdings than to anyone.

Huge trading orders is an instant sign that whales are accumulating that coin so buying that would be a wise choice but don't forget to sell.at the right time if it is altcoin or it will never go bullish once they dumped too much.

So most of the time when you look at patterns like ascending triangle has been form and it is 70% bullish on this. So example: ascending triangle usually up higher high before of each others, that's that means whales are accumulating it?

Title: Re: how to know whales are accumulating coins?

you can't because if the whales are good they will hide it pretty well but also because in altcoin space the accumulation is not long enough for you to find out about it. usually they go in, accumulate and pump that shitcoin right away and by the end of the day or in less than 2 days you see them dumping it hard to the ground.

so instead of looking for accumulation i have found out that it is best to look for the pump itself because it is easier to find and also has less risk because it is already pumping so you know you don't have to wait. the only thing remaining would be timing your sell.

Sometimes you see extremely big buy orders for coins with scanty buy orders. With this, you can easily know that whales are doing what they know best especially for coins which have gone through significant dump.

When there are huge buy order on the order book signals the work of whales,  a times they dump the market themselves to buy more, when there are some manipulation in the price it also signals accumulation time of whales.

There are no ways to know but there are simple logic that will clearly state that whales are buying at the moment. Whenever the market demands increase, then whales might be involve but not in all cases. When there is a surge in the price of the coins, also clearly shows whales are also involve.

You can't know it for sure unless they tell you they are doing it. But then it could be a trap. You can't trust people these days. If they are saying they are buying they could be selling and hoping that people will take the bait and pump the prices for them.

Or they could be starting a bitcoin company and telling everyone they are buying as a form of advertising. To get into news outlets as whales buying crypto but it will be all about their names and their business.

You can learn about whale decisions only by the fact of the events. They manipulate the market in order to earn themselves, so they hide all their plans from ordinary people as much as possible.
The best way to resist the whales is to not respond to news hysteria in the media about cryptocurrencies. And do not do what they say in the media.

But the others may buying coins with slow pace, that we cannot notice they are accumulating.

I believe when prices suddenly just shot up without any fundamental analysis, and it keeps adding up, we can say whales are buying. It's possible they are privy to some information some persons may not be privy to. This our market suddenly just woke up, and here we are still smashing. Although this should be differentiated from a pump and dump group as this is a group act to spell hell to the innocent traders.

Yes that is right and probably this is what has been happening with BNB lately due to which the price of the coins is rising high and this is going more and quicker. This is the sign of the involvements of whales in the market and such opportunities are cashed by the investors with low capital for the price gets significantly pushed up by the whales.

Many of the orders maybe fake. Real buy orders from whales are usually split in parts.
There is a way to determine this, but am not sure if there is an easy way to explain it to newbie traders.
This why it is important to learn trading  before trading with real money.

Nope, that is an impossible thing to do, the first question that must be answered is, which one is the wallet owned by the whale, I'm sure whale will certainly not arbitrarily put a lot of assets in 1 wallet. and it can also be ascertained that they can have another wallet that is not connected (there are no incoming and outgoing transactions) in the wallet that they usually use.

Whales buy by using prices set as order to bring down the price and they accumulate in dips ! Mostly times whales buy using charts when a coins has bottomed out. This is when they accumulate and kee selling at different intervals.

in any case, if the prices for cryptocurrency rise, then there is an active purchase of rating coins.  This cannot be linked to daily trading, since only long positions in the cryptocurrency market can play a large role.

If you follow the increase in the capitalization of the cryptocurrency market, and also pay attention to the numbers that indicate the capitalization of certain cryptocurrencies, then you can be sure that cryptocurrency users invest their funds in the cryptocurrency again.  Of course, you need to look at the volume of orders of trading exchanges in order to know the volume of Bitcoin purchases, for example, and then you can answer Who bought, a simple user of cryptocurrency or a big whale.

You can use the coin explorer, but you can't know who the owner of that address. Just make a limit searching around 1-100 address, most of the top 10 address owned by an exchange, team, development address, the other address it's from the individual user.

In my opinion, you cannot deny the importance of Whales in increasing the prices of a coin in the market. BNB has been gaining some good value and none of the coins so far has done it but BNB.  This really means that there is involvement of whales in the progress of BNB but you have nothing to do with that and should get into the market for your future profits because the profits could be way too high when you get in the market when the coins are backed by whales.

it is not something that can be easily explained inside one comment. it is a complicated process of watching the market movements closely to analyze the price rises and volume increases to come to a good speculation about whether these indicators are showing the initiation of a pump or just random market spikes that don't come to anything.
it requires some market analysis and lots of experience to be capable of doing such analysis.

how to know whales are accumulating coins?

What kind of strategy and tools to know what coins are whale are accumulating? by chart or?

Whales are easily can be spot on exchange usually they have buy order of very huge amount. They often buy of all the sell price of the traders and go to their expected price. When the price is stable to their desired price they will stop the pumping and slowly dump it. Ofcourse they need a huge fund for this. Normally they will buy high prices at low volume and other traders will follow through until their oders blend.
His would have been the easiest way to spot one, but you can’t completely use this to determine their actions, because it is not every large volume you see on exchanges that are from whales, we still have some large firms, institutions and many more that purchases Bitcoin I large quantity when they are cheap for different purposes other than investment alone.

So whales are not easily spotted, the only thing we can just be doing is to always use our chart to study when the market is dip so that we can buy any amount we wishes to buy and sell when the value is high and whenever people are panic selling, we should not join them in doing so.

Oh, if everything was so simple!
In the market you will very rarely see a true big order. Major players do not want to disclose their intentions. Moreover, they make efforts to hide their intentions.
We can only with some probability determine what they are going to do. The answer in one message on the forum will not be complete. Entire books have been written about it.

Google cannot accurately provide solution to this problem which you already said it yourself that the system of blockchian does not give opportunity for this which even Google cannot completely catch a glimpse of when whales are accumulating.

The only thing that can make one have a clue to their activities is when we are seeing abnormal reactions in the value of a coin, whether through increase or decrease, and in regards to accumulation, the abnormal reaction can only be seeing when there is sudden concentration of coin accumulation record from one single transaction by a particular exchange where the transaction is being carried out.

I don't think it's the best idea to follow the whales. You should conduct your own coin research and be guided by the facts, not recklessly repeat after others. Whales are the same people and they also make mistakes, just their capital allows them to make big investments.

I think indeed as a wise crypto currency player we must monitor price movements in the market. We must be sensitive to every movement of crypto currency coins. We can find out that whales collect certain coins by looking at the price movements of the crypto currency and the volume of moving crypto currencies. Indeed we have to monitor regularly and carefully. We must not be lazy. Indeed working in crypto currencies must be patient.

I cant see for this thing to be noticeable before you would able to get in as early as you can.You would only know when its already been pumped out.
Whales cant be easily detected until you see that there sudden huge orders or pump on the said coin. You would know but its too late.

I think they have a lot of funds that are just standing by when the price of the coins and tokens went dump. And also I believe that they have some trading bot that manage their trade and gain good ups.

If this was as easy as say, we would all be rich. We would be aware of the next move and this would help us gain by moving in the direction of whales. It would prevent whales from moving as they wanted. So whales are not stupid enough to show themselves.

Although there are tools and bots to check the buy side of the market, one can actually detect if whales are accumulating a certain cryptocurrency by the thick buy wall of the market. The thicker the buy wall, the more there is a possibility that accumulation is going on.

Always do your own research anyways....and yes, beware of fake buy orders tooo
