Some people saying BTC has no value as is made from nothing. Those same people using money in every day life. If we look into paper money as terms of value this piece of paper is also without value and also made from nothing.

If we think this way then we should be only exchanging goods like gold, stones, weapons, food.

BTC, Crypto is in my opinion only next step in term of money. So we will be calling BTC money soon. It will only be huge advantage for us early adopters to get some while cheap.

When btc will be replacing money in terms of salary anyone who will one 1 BTC only will benefit a lot as with price increasing people will get salary of cca. 2000 sats and 1 l of milk will cost 1 sat in the store.

Actually it's us people who are using it are giving value on it, it's not about the physical thing or whatsoever, it's about it's usefulness.
Bitcoin is not physical but yet we give value to it, from cents now to thousands, that shows it's very valuable and it's very useful to people.
Maybe those who do not understand and does not believe in bitcoin will judge bitcoin as no value, but we who believe can debate on that and we will continue risking our money in bitcoin believing in the future, our money will increase its value.

I agree if crypto currency doesn't really have a value because it is made from nothing we should be really paying with goods because Fiat is just a paper and coins.
But I don't really think that the crypto would be the leading currency of the world and a milk would cost 1 sat in the future .

Old argument, may have had merit before someone bought pizza with it 9 years ago, but I'm earning in Bitcoin (almost only in BTC), paying some people in Bitcoin, bought my last air tickets and hotels with it, and finding more and more ways to use Bitcoin directly.

Sure, I still have to exchange to fiat for many things, and I know most of the things I pay Bitcoin for actually also convert the BTC to fiat to settle in their bank accounts... but the fact is, they wouldn't be able to do any of that if no one saw value in my bitcoin.

First Bitcoin is created from a program that have encryption and can be solve by mathematical equation where lots of computers are competing.  Meaning Bitcoin is not created from nothing.  It is created from mathematical calcualtion and energy that is consumed by these miners.  Second paper money is also not created from nothing. It is created using fibers of plants and some other materials and formed into paper money.  So these two entity does not came from nothing.

What about the value?  Well we all know that paper money is backed by the government institution giving its value and Bitcoin being backed by demand of speculative investors driving its value to nuts.


This is found to be annoying reason why early currency were created.  Barter way of trading items had long been obsolete.


I believe it is already called money because it has proven that it can be used to be a store of value.  Proof:  there are lots of investors flocking in to get a piece of that Bitcoin because they believe that it will grow in value overtime.

People who say bitcoin has no value probably have never had anything of value themselves.

Fiat money used to be really valuable when they were backed by gold or silver. Traditionally, this was the popular set-up until such time when governments started to compromise the minting of coins and slowly the value backing them eroded. In the USA, money was also backed by gold until the 70s when it was disengaged from the gold standard. Replacing the gold is just the promise of the government and the faith on the economic system of the country. When the time will come when central banks of different countries stopped using the USA dollar as the reserve currency am sure that the economy of the country will tumble and dramatically fall. Because of this background, the coming of bitcoin is a very lucky coincidence as we really need a different approach towards money...this time instead of going back to the physical gold its digital version can be utilized by anybody anytime and anywhere. Of course, the road for the mainstream adoption can be a long and winding one and there will always be many challenges along the way.

Bitcoin is actually considered as digital money. It has value but its role is quite different from physical money. It could be a currency in the future but it doesn't mean that t will be replacing any currency. We only need adoption and acceptance to make it the most valued currency.

Wrong. We will never get there. BTC was never meant to replace FIAT completely. It was developed to help provide people with an alternate payment option like Paypal etc in a digital manner. It should be treated primarily as a currency in this regard.

Bitcoin has a value, even if most say not, bitcoin is similar like gold, but a bit different, i mean we can pay with if shops will accept bitcoin payment. And i think in future we will can pay almost all with bitcoin.

The people who have the most grounds to say that bitcoin lacks intrinsic value are the gold bugs, because as they point out gold is tangible and scarce, and due to its unique properties is globally regarded as money. However, even they are not totally right, as all types of money have subjective value depending on the participants in a market. The idea that fiat money - which is backed only by confidence and not a commodity - has value and bitcoin does not is laughable. Bitcoin has built-in scarcity based on the law of mathematics.

Correct, many still don't know and understand bitcoin that is why it has no value for them but for those of us whose been using it for quite along time now and also benefited from it can testify that bitcoin is far more valuable that paper money. Agree with you that most people still see Bitcoin as a "virtual currency" that resembles several units of money in games or shopping websites. Because most of them still do not understand how Bitcoin is created. They are somewhat right to say "Bitcoin is made from nothing" because they don't know how hard it was to write Bitcoin's algorithm, they don't know how much money and energy to keep Bitcoin blockchain always works. Today, the creation of a bitcoin is tougher and rarer than gold mining, which is why its value is higher. Although I know there is also a domination by the law of supply and demand of the market.

This is what ignorance bring to people, they easily judge something like bitcoin without knowing what it is and what bitcoin can do. We can't really blame them, they haven't experience the good effects of bitcoin unlike us who's been using it for awhile. When you look at the cost of mining 1BTC and the cost of producing 1 USD, you will know that bitcoin has a value, you can't just wake up and mine 1 BTC in a day, but the government can print excess dollars at almost negligible cost. If BTC had no value, anyone could easily get it, but here we are struggling to get it.

You have a good point on your assessment dude regarding about what could possibly happen in the near future on Bitcoin. Though, it is one of your speculation, but it maybe happen or not. For me,bitcoin won't have any value if it only lived only for a single month and then gone but it has lived already for 10 years so its definitely has a great value more than our fiat currency had.Only fools believed that bitcoin has no value because in the first place,they don't understand about cryptocurrency and how it works,and how it has brought so much goodness to other people's lives.

If this is to be believed then what is Gold , stones, weapons or food nothing, they are valued because production is limited and demand is high. High demand is because of their use somewhere. Suppose if everyone starts to print money, would it be worth its value no because noone needs it from somewhere,everyone can produce it on their own. BTC carries value as it has limited supply and it is used in blockchain transactions, BTC can only be mined or earned, it cannot be produced.Those who think BTC has no value, I think they are living in an illusion.

Anything called money derive its value from users. If for example everyone stops to use paper money just like you rightly said then it will be valueless. Everyone who says bitcoin is not money or bitcoin have no value are those who doesn't know bitcoin at all. They only think that bitcoin is not real and does not have a unique value if it is used as an asset. But for us, who knows bitcoin and its character will ward this statement because it's far from our understanding. I'm not hypocritical too if to learn how bitcoin till they have an understanding for at least they believe that bitcoin is have a value it's need a long time because it's a hard way to be assured but it is a procces to know it. So, there is no short way for newbies or common people to know bitcoin has a value, they need a proof moreover with the current situation twhich makes bitcoin as a place for fraud.

We will be staying with fiat for a long time. Yes, buying food in exchange for round metal or a rectangular paper.
They even said paper will be the million dollar item in the future.
There are a lot of prediction on what could happen. One phenomenon can change everything. If there will be no electricity then how can we use bitcoin. If there will be shortage in trees then how can we trade in paper money?

From my personal experience the types of people that say bitcoin has no value are the same people who lack a basic understanding of economics or how any currency works in general. As long as there is consensus among parties that bitcoin has value then it has value, if this consensus is not there then bitcoin does not have value. Fiat is basically pieces of paper which is rather worthless in itself but because we are made to believe it has value it is able to function as a currency.

People put the price on anything they see, and the government together with the system helped us believe that what they are minting and printing carries value and could be exchanged for goods. Value is only perceived by Man, estimated and appraised usually by checking whether it is of use to them or not. As time goes by, this idea of valuation proved to be somewhat inefficient and inaccurate (different places pose different values of a similar item), and by then Man started to devise something that will fall under a certain standard to solve the valuation problem.

Bitcoin is no different. It started to have value since people put a price to it, and it only keeps on going since that is what people think while in reality, it's just a bunch of codes put together to create a working system. Value is a perception and a man-made concept, so arguing which is valuable and which is not is somewhat a pointless debate.

Bitcoin has value and this is very easy to prove. Go to any bitcoin exchange and try to get it for free. If it had no value you wouldn't be able to.
You can also go to the middle of some crowded shopping center and scream that you have 1 bitcoin to give away for free and you'll see how many people will come to you asking for it.

It is very hard and confusing to understand what you are trying to say. I get the first part. Yeah, paper money are just pieces of paper printed by the government. The government can print the money anytime (but they don't as it will decrease the value of the money), but the amount of bitcoin that can be mined is limited. Thus in this case, bitcoin is actually far better than paper notes.
We still do call bitcoin "crypto currency" which is kind of a digital money.

The value of the Bitcoin is given by the work that has been done to obtain it, by the energy that has been spent for it, by the its use and embracement by so many people in the world.

If bitcoin has no value then I cannot withdraw anything. From the moment I joined the crypto space, I believe that bitcoin will be valuable. However, it is volatile and it may devaluate anytime. But don't afraid because bitcoin will always be the number one when it comes in cryptocurrency. In short, it will never goes to zero.

It will always depend on the situation but everything has a value especially if someone is looking or buying for it.

Btc came from nothing but if you are going to compare it in it's today's price then you will be surprise how the 1 btc has a value of 8k$ while keep on increasing. You forgot the tx fees pal. People might only use btc for larger transactions like those who owns big stores or runs a business. And for us ordinary consumers, there might be an alternative coin that will suit our buying demands and does not need any extra gas or fees.

Bitcoin is still considered money since it is a digital currency but its not physically present unlike fiat currency which is totally controlled by the government. Though it has no value for some people but for those who have known it so well and are craving even a single bitcoin, it has the biggest value compared to other currencies.

Just remember Total supply is only 21 mio. Yes, there might be supply increased but only in case, 51% of miner agrees to that which is very unlikely.

Bitcoin in the past if a lot of people use today will be a huge one, there will be a lot of people that will be rich because of that. But, Bitcoin will stay the same, a decentralized cryptocurrency, some countries banned it, some regulated it, it will stay like that. Bitcoin is already used as money. I think it's too early to say what will be the future regulations over bitcoin in different countries. Because regulations can change, for the better or for the worse: in countries where it's banned or heavily regulated, there might happen a change benefiting bitcoin and its users.

Bitcoin exist for 10 years and become famous so i don't understand why some people say it has no value. Yes, I also think there will be a time when we all will depend on crypto. Our daily work will be done through Cryptocurrency. How do you define "value"? If your yardstick of measurement is market price then its a false logic. The same money is used to inflate the price of bitcoin and you talk about having a value more than the money? Definitely the price will rise if more and more people bid on the orderbooks.

But does that change the value of the fiat being used? It does not. A crypto economy is far from the future. What we think here is because we are bullish on bitcoin and adoption becoming slow makes us say these things even without understand basic economic principles.

Maybe not BTC but in next 10 - 20 years for sure BTC or another cryptocurrency will replace money for sure. The other way is only in case, lobbies will be too strong to fight and crypto will die. There is no middle way.

If a person is willing to pay real money for Bitcoin, then BTC has value. In the modern world, earth, air, place, and many intangible things have a price. Why a cryptocurrency in a limited quantity can not have a price?

If you think all the inexpensive things in the world you can say that they have no value at all. People just think that those think are valuable. For example, Gold and diamond, what would you do with those rocks lol. Similar with Bitcoin, Those things only have value because people think it's valuable.

I'm a Bitcoin user and I actually really have high hopes for it, not so much for other crypto but definitely BTC. But even I have to say it's not impossible to see Bitcoin lose value in the future. I hope it does very well of course but I can see how it might die out there are several scenarios for this.

Now it's the gov't that dictates on how much is the value of their fiat.

And most of the local currencies now are depending to the market of USA, so if there's an economic crash on US, almost every country that depends on them will have their crash as well and so is the inflation.

It seems to me that these words can already become a motto for the entire cryptocurrency market, so that no one gives more than they can lose.  The fact is that in any case, when prices reach a certain maximum, they will sell Bitcoin unequivocal to earn with its help.  After all, it is for this that we invested our money in Bitcoin.

The value of bitcoin depends on the persons understanding and how he/she is using it, it's true that it has no physical value but bitcoin can be exchange for fiat and buy goods online so the value of bitcoin cannot be determined just by saying it has no value because it is not a paper money.

One can say that Google and Facebook do not have value because they do not have physical form. Yet if you want to acquire them you will need to bid above $100 billion or no one would start negotiating with you otherwise. In the age of the Internet we should get used to the fact that some things can cost really a lot even though they have no physical form, and Bitcoin is one of such things.

Hey, Bitcoin is a digital asset that has a high value. If you have at least 10BTC, you can afford anything. That proves that Bitcoin has valuable value.

I will always think of this many advantages that we will get btc is very encouraging for us all crytocurrency provides a lot of knowledge and procedures for managing money well and really this is economics that is useful in intelligent technology.

Paper money also has no value practically. It has a value because of the consensus that yes this is one dollar bill and thus I can use it for paying 1 dollar. Similarly with any asset people have decided a value of that asset based on market last trades.

Bitcoin is also having a value financially from the exchanges trading on it, however the real value comes from the community support behind bitcoin and the whales who make the market rise and fall. People who try to venture here with the idea of making money quickly will get burnt out easily because they dont understand these fundamentals about bitcoin.

As of now, there is not much really backing the extraordinary value of BTC/Crypto except people's beliefs and expectations :)

The blockchain concept IS revolutionary for sure but its too early to price BTC at $10k.

I think it is the generation gap that is making few to understand and adopt to this new "money"

bitcoin has as much value as others are ready to pay for it , very simple
the supply/demand model is working for every single asset on this planet
if there are people ready to pay something for it , then it has that value , you can see the current value at the exchanges
it always makes me smile when I hear that bitcoin has no value or that its a HYIP or a bubble or similar nonsense
 

It seems to me that now the price of Bitcoin will be primarily realized at the expense of supply and demand in the cryptocurrency market.  Although I very much doubt that cryptocurrency users will again make the same mistake as in 2017.  No one wants to make a full-fledged investment in Bitcoin at a price of over $ 15,000, of course, if Bitcoin is not predictable and does not improve its performance.

It seems to me that everything depends on the current situation and if it is assumed that Big Business is interested in Bitcoin transactions, for the fast and high-quality nature of the funds, Bitcoin will become more popular and improve its condition in the cryptocurrency market.  This increase in capitalization and price increase, which will be equivalent to an increase in interest in Bitcoin.

If Bitcoin has no value, for sure it won't increase as they have now, and it won't stand long for more than 10 years. But the price value of Bitcoin at the moment was too huge, it means many community all over the world embraced the good features it has and the possible benefits that We could get from it. And it possible too that it can be the world currency someday.

Paper money has no value other than the value placed on it by the government, i mean whats the different between a 20usd note and a 100usd note? are they not both notes? but one is valued more than the other thats all. So saying bitcoin is worthless is an illusion, your bitcoin is worth what you say its worth.

I think what you are saying is the price right now,  it is true that its value is huge but it differs for every investor. If bitcoin really has a value, an intrinsic value, then there would be no way that we could put the price of it beside USD. Do you see the price of btc without the fiats? No, that is what we are talking about here but that is the same with fiat, it is just a paper told by the government that is the currency, designed it, print it making us believe it is worth that much, it is still a paper though.

Anyone who thinks or have the mindset that Bitcoin has no value  do not really know or understand what Bitcoin and cryptocurrency represent. Bitcoin is the alternative representation of money in the digital form. Bitcoin has value. Its high time people accept this fact...

I think there is no need to say that the bitcoin is no value when we all know that it is more precious than any other coin in the crypto feild. The bitcoin is becoming more amazing and popular each day, so i think bitcoin will be the future of money. And i see that many more people will become more interested on it in the near future.

Every currency has actually no inherent value. The value that is found in a currency is coming from the people who agree together to put value to it. Otherwise, all these currencies we have right now are simply garbage. Bitcoin is the same. However, the thing here is that it is owned by us, its value is dictated by us, in contrast to fiat which is not owned by us and the value is dictated upon us.

I dont believe in what you said.as long as you use fiat money and btc it has a big value.why? It is because they give benifits the way you use it. In this forum we know that we always talking about bitcoin we promote also bitcoin because it is important bitcoin for us in term of payment.why does someone saying that bitcoin has no value while you using it.even money how can you live without money what is your life without this.as long as you using bitcoin and fiat money you value this.
Now saying that bitcoin replace for payment in salary well I do believe this is not gonna be happen because in a job there is exact min or maximum payment you should achieve for your salary.my point only btc and money are have both value in our life.because if not why we work for the money.

I'm one of the least ultra Bitcoin supporters there is out there actually, because I'm not a maximalist at least I don't think we'll see any of those utopia Bitcoin dreams come true in the next 50 years BUT I wouldn't say there's not much really backing Bitcoin. Not much backing crypto I agree but I never put BTC/crypto in the same bracket. Bitcoin has actual usage, actual networks, actual decentralized power, actual security. That is true value.

For me, I agree with what you said that some people saying that BTC has no value, but those people don’t truly know the value of the bitcoin. Yes, this crypto is the next or the future money, there are some company would like to use/ accepts this cryptocurrency. But I think its all about the acceptance of other influential people that needs to consider and make this ppl to believe. :)

No, Bitcoin is said to have no value since it has no intrinsic value. You have "less knowledge" about Bitcoin and you should know more about it, maybe learn some economics to add to that.

It is quite logical. If a cryptocurrency written on a machine and not having a physical shell does not cost anything, then why a piece of paper and the pictures on them should be very different. Logically, they can be estimated at the cost of a piece of paper and paints that were spent on their creation. Valuable metals is a slightly different matter. But in principle, everything is relative in our world.

Btc value was neglected from the onset but presently, many are regretting for their negligence. So Btc will increase in value despite the reactions of people and different countries. The value has being predicted to appreciate with time. So be patient.

When people say that 1 Bitcoin can't cost more than 3.8 million USD that's reasonable because this price is possible only if BTC replaces all the money in the world. Of course it can cost infinite times more in case of hyperinflation of USD, but with today's purchasing power of it, we can get 3.8 million USD per 1 BTC max.

But I really can't understand, how it can be "too early" for $10k. It would be interesting to look at some math behind that statement.

Bitcoin is created because of complicated algorithms and large resources, naturally, it's expensive. If there are people who say bitcoin is nonsense, he is a person who is blind to technology.

I would NEVER invest long term in paper money, and I would NEVER invest long term in bitcoin.   If I could predict the huge price swings of bitcoin, I would absolutely trade it, and become very wealthy and convert it into REAL HARD assets ASAP.

BITCOIN is unusable as salary or money, the price is much to volatile to value anything in bitcoin.  Nothing that can change 25 % in a day works well as money.   The only bitcoin pricing schemes are actually priced in US DOLLARS, and then converted to bitcoin.  No company is paying anyone a fixed salary in bitcoin, say 1 bitcoin a month, it is all priced in much more stable FIAT and converted to bitcoin.

Bitcoin has more value than all these paper money we had because it takes a lot of computer and sophisticated hardware to mine just one Bitcoin, and the supply is very limited but in terms of domination, we still need fiat in our everyday transactions.

That is no logic. It is backed up by way more than peoples belief and expectation. How does this person think transactions are processed?? Besides currency doesn't need "backing"
If we talking about the currency being backed by something valueable there is no need since money is supposed to be backed by gold but we never see that gold and don't need to. In fact it doesn't even have to exist.
