I know that there are many gamblers around the world and still counting the numbers of gamblers. It even became a family tradition to othera where a father passes or teach their children to gamble like in those animal bets like cock fighting. What is really good in gambling? I just want to know the several possible reasons on why a gambler keeps motivated to gamble wether local or online?

Please give me an idea will discuss it here.

Gambling addictions have something to do with the obsessive compulsive disorder(OCD).
People with such disorders simply can't control their behaviour in certain aspects of their lives.
Other than being addicted there only 2 motives-"to make money" and just for fun.

Gambling is considered an addiction and like all other addiction it is crazy fun. it is a 50:50 game either you loose or you win. When you gamble you are engaged with anxiety, eagerness and excitement all of these result in adrenaline rush, which is what every addict looks for. When you loose the anger, frustration and betrayal takes over, which every addict realizes after the addiction is over.

At least, that is what I felt.    

Yes, OCD is involved, but it is more than money. It is a sense of pride and control that takes over when you win a bet. If you gamble, haven't you felt the happiness and the urge to beat the system once more. It is not money every time it.

Theres 2 things that motivates gambling to gamble more and more.
First is eagerness to win/regain losses which leads to more losses that leads to the second reason what keeps a gambler gambling,addiction.Gambling addiction is common now and this what keeps a gambler to gamble more and more to the point they need to have debts to gamble

Nah, it won't work for me. It may be win I win first and I'll keep on gambling, it keeps me inspired dude.
Being in addiction is not an option we should choose but it is our mind which brought into the hell.  We can't be in addiction if we want to, even we are chasing for the jackpot price, and controlling our self will helping out from getting into huge trouble in the future.

If some one is looking at just money angle then this is the biggest thing that they want to make as much money as possible at quickest time and if some one plays for entertainment they look to mingle with new people and enjoy their time in the casinos which keep them motivated.

If you think about it there is no good reason to continue gambling especially after someone has lost a lot of money by doing it. Most of the gamblers have lost to much money to stop gambling now and they continue doing it on hope that someday they will win a jackpot or something and recover all their money then they will stop. You can't say someone is motivatived to gambling because it's more likely they are addicted and that's what they keep going.

Sometimes it is more on entertainment side, when you decide that you will play till your balance become zero or cash out if you reached at specific amount (can e positive or negative.)

it's not actually motivation but addiction if they cannot stop themselves from gambling, some of them don't care about losing and winning, they just want to feel the excitement, when they are excited there is an adrenaline rush and they are fully concentrated on and they are alive.

For many people and what some of us do claim here "we gamble for fun"!  However, we do have different reasons why we are motivated to keep gambling as we do. For the part of the world that I came from, gambling is seeing as sinful and people trying to stigmatized gambler and classified them as sinners. Because of this many gambling house or business do it in hiding not from government but from friends and family. It is online that most of us started to participate in gambling and I later find out that is not evil but a way to make money. It is the money making side of gambling that motivate me into it.

The prize, the money primarily. The craving in victory and huge returns which eventually leads to addiction. I don't know if it's motivation because I think the much better term is addiction. Anyway, I guess my aforementioned reason are those what keeps them going. Then followed by entertainment. It's usually just two: money then fun. Or it could be the other way around.

I think money is the reason they are so motivated in gambling. I mean who would not be thrilled with you risking your money and winning double or triple the amount of it in one sitting. Though I don't think they are motivated, they are desperate that is the reason they always go back to casinos and gambling places. We should not be motivated in gambling, we should be able to control ourselves.

Greed? Once a gambler gets a taste of gambling, he knows how easily he can make money out of it. He just don't care about the loss occured to himself but only sees how he can get back every of his loss and earn a profit. It's an additction that doesn't go away. Even if they know it's destroying them, they just can stop themselves.

I think it really depends on the gambler because every gambler has his own reasons why they gamble, some saying its for entertainment and some also is saying it is more on money. As for me, I think both because at first I only wanted to do it for fun but when I win it makes me wanna bet again to gain more profits. I know gambling is more of luck and i'm not saying i'm that lucky, no, I also got my share of losses but despite that, what motivates me to still gamble is the thought of getting profits while having fun.

I think that when it comes to sports betting if you are able to predict the game and being correct give you a feeling about you understand the game better than your soundings, it is always fun to sit with some friends and tell them that you made a bet on the match and your bet was correct.

Gambling has for me turned out to be a hobby, I only betting with small amounts that I can afford to lose, but when I look at the numbers I can see that I'm up in sports betting but losing or without any real profit in all other kinds of betting, but overall I'm in profit. 

The common motivation that is shared by all gamblers is to make quick money, as each gambler knows earning money quickly is very difficult. Then another motivation is to brag about ones winning, and knowledge of predicting events correctly. Last and final motivation according to me is to successfully recover their losses, and earn double of what was lost.

Perhaps what motivates the gambler is not what is good. Or, at least, that depends on what you mean by 'good'. People start to gamble when they lack something in their life. Some lack the social element, others lack emotions on just some sort of excitement. Of course, a big amount of people sees gambling as a way of getting money, and this attitude is perhaps the most dangerous one unless you're trying to become a professional player of a skill-based game. What motivates me to gamble is curiosity and a feeling of excitement when you are anticipating the outcome of a bet.

Probably the emotions, it's really like the ones who enjoy MMORPGs or different types of games. Online or not. At the end, human beings should be rational beings but we are emotional beings at the end and that is the raw uncomfortable truth.

I personally believe that hurting animals in any possible way it's wrong and more not so positive terms. Those are creatures that naturally balance the ecosystem when speaking about most of them and if humans didn't exist in the world at all, the world would be balanced completely, it's up to us to learn from nature, how to balance progress with nature. That is a lot more harder than innovation alone.

And fathers teach their kids what they like to see if their kids like it too so they have something in common, which is respectable if they don't try to force the kids, that will make it extremely uncomfortable for them. I knew a lot of fathers playing online games who showed it to their kids and they were playing it too because they ended up liking it and that way they have something in common to spend time and talk about.

Well, for me when I'm playing poker, the only thing that gets me more motivated is when my money was still constant, nothing changed. I will still keep going until I reached the satisfaction that I need.


Hey bud, there's no MMORPGs in gambling. There are huge differences between online games and online gambling even though gambling is a game, a game of betting.

Emotions are why all these market bubbles play out the same, humans can be very irrational and be heavily persuaded by fear and greed.

Humans evolved with strong adrenaline responses from natural living and it is something most of us lack in the modern world so perhaps gambling fills that void.

Money money money is the only reason people are going for gambling everyday in their lifetime. But there are different levels of addiction some people know that they can't make much money from gambling but they still want to try that there may be lucky Sunday to get huge amount of money and some other kind will keep coming with high confidence to win a lottery to become a millionaire without any effort.

I would never teach my kids to gamble and parents who do it must be crazy. You shouldn't teach your children to drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, take drugs, gamble, and do any of those things that can damage them in their future lives.

The main motivation is always money. You want more money you gamble more and people are greedy and always want more.
