The only issue I have with this so called adoption is that is not a direct Bitcoin-to-Bitcoin transaction though. They still have someone in between like Bitcoin Payment Processor, like Bitpay or and Flexa as in the case of Starbucks. So we are still a far cry from the so called global adoption, we wanted we see is those big companies accepting Bitcoin directly, in my opinion.

On the one hand, that can help to crypto adoption, On the other hand, that can prevent crypto decentralization..

Yes, you are right.

But looking at more positive side, they can receive actual payments through bitcoin and no need for their customers to convert it first with fiat or any currency that they prefer.

Paying them with bitcoin with the help of those payment processors is still admirable because they have considered of looking at it, probably they have seen that there's a good market for bitcoin users.

Additional to Facebook coin:
Many know that crypto is the place you can earn easy money, facebook coin is just like a stable coin, just like USDT which kinda pegged it in USD or in some national currency.
Maybe some will think that they can invest and facebook coin to earn huge returns, they are wrong.

from what I saw in your post, these companies are in a race to use blockchain, are not in the race to use bitcoin, you can see in your post if I am wrong. None of these companies you mentioned are using bitcoin directly and are not directly promoting bitcoin. I honestly do not see it as a big news

I'm glad we are getting closer to bitcoin adoption, of course we hope that trust will grow and continue to grow.
so that all countries do the same thing, the use of blockchain technology is needed for various future technologies.

I don't think this is adoption per se. They are after the technology behind and not bitcoin. And besides is not a direct bitcoin transaction specially Starbucks. But what the hell, every goods that includes bitcoin and blockchain technology is good right?

So why are you even mentioning Amazon? Who told you rhat Amazon is adopting cryptocurrency? For your information they are not adopting cryptocurrency in anyway. The only people I know that are adopting cryptocurrency is the other three you have mentioned. Microsoft have a cryptocurrency of their own and they are also accepting cryptocurrency for making purchase on their Xbox store. Starbucks are one of those that are adopting cryptocurrency. And as for Facebook, those ones are fond of digging into every step our lives and selling it to advisers. I believe their cryptocurrency will be a way for them to be able to trace our all round and moves and know what we are purchasing and when we are doing that.

Facebook have already got there hands on your basic information and places that you like and things that you want, when they launch there own crypto it will have a stable value of 1=1 USD and looking at some post on facebook mostly travel vlog and food, it will be profitable for them.
Amazon creating its own crypto is just a rumor, but it may become a reality if bitcoin popularity soar into another all time high in the future.

I don't see any crypto adoption here, you're just confusing things. Blokchain != crypto. I can't understand why people are confusing these totally different things so often. It would be correct to say that these companies just starting to use blockchain technology.
Facebook already showed their "support" to crypto by banning all crypto related adds. And I'm sceptical about their coin and I doubt that it will be close to the real crypto. As I know, it will be stablecoin pegged to fiat currency, probably USD.
Microsoft already did meaningful thing in crypto adoption by accepting Bitcoin payments. They had stopped it for a while, but now they're accepting it again.
And fact that some big companies are starting to use blockchain technology is pretty much meaningless. Banks are also interested in it, but it doesn't mean that they are positive about crypto.

This is much likely expected since they have the very idea that bitcoin or blockchain can compete with what the current economy stands up to now. It is up to the company on how they would use or implement it on their current business as some issues would occur which is a norms when starting a new system.

Except Amazon, they are not accepting cryptocurrency and they are not making use of the Blockchain. I don't think they are going to be involved in it anytime soon, though there are rumors about them accepting Fb Libra. It's just a rumor and no one has proof to whether it is true or not. Once they start to accept it they are going to mention it to their customers and let them know that they are accepting cryptocurrency. Other ones you have mentioned have jumped on it already. Microsoft was the first to making use of the Blockchain technology on several of their sites and even launched a project as well.

Like how centralised mode of transaction have payment API. Even on crypto industry also these business giant looks for any payment processor API. For that only these bitpay, coingate and other gateway operators being used.
I am not sure why they are not accepting Bitcoin directly to their director address.is there any business difficulties to receive such funds?

Adoption still exist with that, even is just slow but we are still moving and growing, total confirmed Bitcoin transactions still increasing and that is one of the results of adoption on just Bitcoin, how about to other cryptocurrencies? it's still growing.

We are going on that or something like that, it just like what happened before with Steam especially around 2017 bull run, when they started to accept bitcoin with Bitpay (AFAIK) to purchase steam wallet, after a few months they suspended accepting Bitcoin, so there's a reason behind that, maybe the transaction fees are too high and the volatility, etc.

No they wont on my own view since they do know the volatility characteristic of bitcoin. They do make use of payment processor at least.
It might not be directly but its still good to see that they are using things which are related into it.

Btw yeah, a lot of people want to see bitcoin on amazon, ebay and more but how will it affect price? I'm really interested in opinions about that because these websites are giants in their own niche which means number of bitcoin transactions will skyrocket if they accept bitcoin + they'll have a lot of bitcoins after all. So don't know whether it will be good news or not but I think no again.
On another hand, most of them which you stated OP, are going to integrate blockchain technologies and it's far from crypto adoption. Blockchain technologies are amazing on it's own and not only amazon but walmart plans to integrate it in some services. Interest is huge around blockchain but not around cryptocurrencies.

Rather than the adoption and acceptance within their services, Facebook coming up with its own cryptocurrency is a big thing. When Facebook has officially revealed information regarding the cryptocurrency and its features we can see more large scale firms from now on getting into development or tokenizing their services.

Starbucks, Microsoft and other firms have been accepting bitcoin, but what the circulation happens through the same is very low, we need the market to get widen and for the same there needs to be good awareness about cryptocurrency and its necessity in the present world. This is done by Facebook and hope the falling year will be a very big year for almost every cryptocurrency including libra.

It`s what we have been waiting for, all of them to join crypto. Most of us see this coming, big companies making their own coins, it`s was logical step for them, they have money, they have big teams. This will be good for entire crypto industry, people will hear about crypto, people will start to use crypto.
What concerns me will people be able to recognize true power of decentralized crypto currencies, will people dump their fb and microsoft tokens for bitcoin or litecoin?
Someone should make a pool about investing in facebook, microsoft and amazon coins, how many people from here thinks about doing that?

Everyone has their own way of participating in the crypto business, but one thing for sure is that they are all doing it for the money. Every one of them now sees crypto as a new business and they are now jumping on it in any way possible to utilize the opportunity and bring in more money to the Company. This is the first time I’m getting to know that Amazon even has a Blockchain, but they are not accepting cryptocurrency, maybe cause it wouldn’t fit their system of business or whatever. So they just created a Blockchain for companies that works on cryptocurrency, so that they can collect money and that’s it. Then Facebook also created their own coin and I’m sure the purpose there is also to grab money as well.

And to us pioneers, we will also be benefited once our investment here in crypto space will result for a good outcome when investors multiplied.

Facebook is the giant social media, they have instagram and whatsapp also to make an advertising about cryptocurrency. So as most people will know cryptocurrency with an easy way. But I doubt libra coin will be success to be accepted as payment methode by most countries. The government will know that libra is cryptocurrency which is why it systems is still same with bitcoin. Maybe just a little chance libra coin will be accepted by government because most companies/merchants will look the regulation first before they make a decision to adopt it or even they will create it's own cryptocurrency.

This is only the metter of time, payment system has been changing each time. Because all we know the online store has been popping up thus far which is mean the digital currency will play here. If there is someone who wonted to use payment system with digital currency (money fiat) then that's the beggining how cryptocyrrency will be accepted. In my country there are a lot of new wallet to be use as payment system. I mean,  some platform to be use as a place to save money has been spreading. They are willing to go to supermarket to top up their wallet platform to be use as payment system. So, m-banking have no popular at this time, I hope cryptocurrency can be known by them until he will easy to make a deposit to his wallet.

I think they are after the technology and not the coin itself. See Facebook. They have created their own coin to support the technology and I think this will create a domino effect since there is a huge hype that has been created when Facebook announced that they will create their new digital currency which is Libra.

Anyway, this is another step towards the adoption of the technology and the crypto itself.

You have point, just like JP Morgan Coin and now Goldman Sachs (https://www.coindesk.com/goldman-sachs-ceo-hints-bank-might-launch-jpm-coin-like-crypto) started to look about the cryptocurrency. This could be a huge adoption on cryptocurrency, once big companies starting to take a step on cryptocurrency.

They know that cryptocurrency started to trend, they know what cryptocurrency can do and also it can really help their own businesses. I will not be surprised soon for the massive adoption of cryptocurrency, this is just starting, still more ups and downs.

And we have seen lots of crypto companies developing their apps. LN Labs just releases their lnd v0.7-beta! and then Electrum developing its LN support as well.

The blockchain is a highly qualified project and can collaborate with companies to advance a wider blockchain project better to increase collaboration with social media companies that might develop rapidly because social media is now a communication tool that can spread rapidly and this will make the blockchain can be known to the wider public who want to succeed through the blockchain ;)

Weird, you say it's 99.9% be implemented, then why are you asking if it is a scam or not? If you have doubts and willing your data to be *fu**ed up then I wouldn't invest on them, if I'm in your shoes. There's a huge hype on this one, that everyone is really wanting to get on-board. But if you are a real private person then I would say to stay away and wait till the dust settled first, specially US government are asking Mark and the rest of his executives to explain what this coin will exactly do.

Exactly! It is just 'so called'. The adoption by those big companies is more like the sugar coating of the tradition currency except that it is digital. However, their adoption creates the necessary awareness that the cryptocurrency market needs.  All in all, the people will have the final say on what cryptocurrency should be or shouldn’t be.

Seems like the majority of the people prefers volatile coins. The problems is that there is nothing you will give people that they are not going to complain about it, that's just how it is. Still wondering if libra coin is going to be useful to me. Till then if it's released, I might not invest in it, but if there are things I'm doing that requires receiving payment through it, since there is no PayPal in my country, then I might opt in for it.

Many speculate about Libra coin, I think we can`t be sure in anything before Libra get`s out, and that`s announced for the next year., and we all know
what can happen in one year in crypto-currencies. Every crypto-currency is useful for something, what Libra plan to do many coins are doing already. Facebook
have many users on their social network and that`s only advantage they have, user-base, but we will see in upcoming years how many people will stay on
Facebook and how many will change that centralized social network for some decentralized, build on Blockchain.

This is what I call blockchain adoption as many different sectors of society started to use blockchain to improve their products, technologies, work environments and services. One of exciting development is the use of blockchain in electoral process, let see if this blockchain integration can improve the voting system and eliminate fraud or cheating. The use of blockchain by some well known online shops and social media sites mean another cryptocurrency or token will created.
Adopting Blockchain technology doesn’t mean that they are adopting crypto as well. Some of them are just adopting the Blockchain technology and it’s all for the purpose of them generating more income for their business and nothing more.

Because when they create a Blockchain, companies that makes use of cryptocurrency will then be paying them to be making use of their Blockchain technology and that’s how it works. Even if they do create their own cryptocurrency, it’s all for the purpose of attracting investors who are interested in cryptocurrency to invest in their crypto, which will also help them grow their business, unless maybe it’s a stable coin.

But, there will always be a way for benefit from it, cause no companies takes part in something that doesn’t benefit them.

corporations are following trends. They are not letting any chance of staying behind. If crypto is on the rise all the major especially monopoly companies will adopt.

Not really  . some are contented on what they have and they still not amaze on the rise of cryptos because they know that its not easy to put up a crypto payment method and not all are going to use crypto  .

on the other hand , those companies that adopt crypto are only trying to see if cryptos can help their company to expand or grow more  . along with that , they are also helping cryptos to be expose more on the public  . this is also good for us that who are involved on crypto

From my understanding the companies that have adopted cryptocurrency as a payment source can be categorized into two. One is the market leaders like Microsoft, Amazon, Starbucks and under the second category falls the firms from small scale to mid level companies that are in the progress to reach next level.

Here the grown countries will always use an intermediary service render like bitpay, because a small volatility in the market will cause a big drop in their market share value. Here very few have like Facebook have come up with its own native cryptocurrency which is a stablecoin.

The second categorized ventures will not get much of business through the cryptocurrency payment, and this won't cause them a big market change. It is like an investment for them, if there is good growth automatically it'll help them to grow further.

We are about to enter the time when crypto is a payment method in e-commerce. We already have ModulTrade which is amazon duplicate working on the same principle. Many more will enter the market too, really soon, I believe.

I think Starbucks, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon only adopt blockchain technology not want to make their own currency, except Facebook he wants to make a global currency libra coin but I see it's only a stable coin whose fluctuations are not like altcoin in general

In my country, the real use of cryptocurrency is prohibited and will be a long time to face problems. I am very happy for countries that are loyal to this. This is very cool, and makes you think about a change of residence ...
Cryptocurrency is not a magic who can change a someone live easily even when I knew cryptocurrencies and that was something that must be avoided by a common people especially in volatility price thing. I have a new job currently and some of my friend told me they have a bad experience when tried to bought cryptocurrency.

All of their salary for one month they tried to bought bitcoin and ripple exactly at 2017 ago and they were happy because their money has doubled pastly but it was just for a while because the price crash happened and they lost almost their money and they told never took to bought cryptocurrency again for the rest of their life. This is pointed out cryptocurrencies have an adventage and disadventage that should well thought out by newcomers.

As the time, days and years goes by, the influence of technology is keep on spreading to its maximum level. People are now are creating the best possible and easiest way of life that we could experience. And the existence of crypto currency is another thing that gives us more power in terms of our daily financial payment methods. So the Starbucks, Facebook Microsoft, Amazon and many many more that began to adopt crypto could benefit all of us, now up to the future.

This is old news but good sign that you connected all news in one place so that new comers in crypto industry will happy to see this. Actually it is impossible to give up any new currency like BTC and altcoin for all big markets. I think day by day it will expand.

Have you try this service? If you need a proof then you have to try to make a transaction with some merchant who accept cryptocurrency. An honestly my country is still ban crypto to be use as payment system so I can't use them but I believe the service is still running on several countries who accept crypto to be use as payment system such as Japan and other.

And other thing that you should know, facebook is still have an interest to cryptocurrency. More than that they will create their own coin i.e Libra coin. And when bitcoin price went up from $3200 tp $13.000 a few months back I believe there is a relation to facebook decision's who will create their own crypto. So, my conclusion is there is no gosip that the merchant/companies who accept crypto because I have felt the result.

lol same sentiments. on the bright side, it's good to know that there are some "gossips" and ideas are flying around.  who knows, maybe 5 years from now, we'll see some results.

Hopefully not that long.  The only company in the list I really care about is Starbucks, because they seem to be pondering the idea of accepting crypto--at least by the last statement in the linked article in the OP.  I know their big thing is using blockchain tech to track coffee (not sure if that's going to be popular or not), but they have some involvement with Bakkt and it was hinted that:

Quote
The coffee company was said last August to be working to develop “practical, trusted and regulated” applications for consumers to convert digital assets into U.S. dollars.

Now, I've no idea what that really means but Starbucks does have a history of being progressive and tapping into trends.  It'd be nice if they actually started to take bitcoin as payment--but we'll see.  I've been hearing the same rumors for years as well.

Happy to see the market is slowly adapting crypto currenices espeicaly bitcoin.

I think all of this is about adopting blockchain technology rather than bitcoin, in which case I don't think this is necessarily going to be a boost for any particular cryptocurrency.

Isn't it not obvious? Again companies are much "smarter" sort to say then the governments. Of course they have more freedom but this is another sign that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are the OBVIOUS way to move forward. That is the next step for our world, no doubt about that. It just takes time and patience. Would love if the Starbucks in my city would accept BTC as payment method too, though I would dwell spending my precious crypto versus spending my garbage fiat currency.

We don't have any other choice i guess. The complete adoption without any mediator is still seems impossible even after big players are entered into the market. What i have observed is that big players don't want to loose the authority of controlling the money, if pure crypto adoption happened then all the power will automatically transferred to public and that's what big players don't want.

I am happy to see such developments because I have always dreamed of entering cryptocurrencies into our daily lives. As the use of the block chain increases and companies that accept payments in crypto currencies increase this market will develop more. Soon everything will be very nice and much useful:)
