Title: NitrogenSports Scammed Me (RESOLVED - NO HARM DONE) Post by: Anton2.0 on June 08, 2019, 08:16:26 PM -------- Latest Update ---------
The accusation was a little bit rushed. They were slow to help me, and I had to contact multiple services, but in the end the support was very helpful and solved my case (I never even told them I accused them of scam online). -------- Original Message --------- Hi, Nitrogen scammed me. TLDR; I lost my account that's worth a lot of money, and Nitrogen refuses to help. Story I have a website and referred my audience to Nitrogen for a few months. I realized recently that the link I placed on my website was clicked a lot and drove lots of customers (between 700 to 1,000 new registrations according to my estimates) to their website. This means a LOT of money over time. So I tried to log in to my account, and, surprise: I could not login. Because when I created my account to get my affiliate link, I did not set a username/password for my account. Note: This is a unique system that only nitrogensports uses; You can create an account without an username, email and password, but you're responsible for adding them to your account afterwards. So I contacted their support, which said they would help. They asked me lots of questions that were very difficult to answer considering I couldn't access the account. I answered everything at my best ability, and provided even more evidences than what was requested. My story makes complete sense and I gave them information that only the owner of the account could know. I received this answer: After reviewing the information with our Security department, it has been determined that access to account XXXXXXX will not be granted. No information on the 'why' they won't grant it. They don't answer any email from me anymore. Because they know the account will earn 10s of thousands of dollars over the years. Conclusion Nitrogen seems to prioritize their own short-term benefits vs long term fair business. Also, since they decided not to give me my account back despite my efforts and communication, I strongly suspect Nitrogen is scamming its customers as well. People would deposit Bitcoin, be locked out of their accounts and won't be able to recover their account. I hope this feedback helps others! Title: Re: NitrogenSports Scammed Me (Business) Post by: Avirunes on June 09, 2019, 04:16:07 AM It's your mistake. C'mon think about it- how will they verify that you are the actual owner? You haven't placed and verified your email.
Also this is not a unique system but there are also some sites which has features like this but atleast you could verify yourself with the deposits you made. So it's quite normal if you ask me. Title: Re: NitrogenSports Scammed Me (Business) Post by: Anton2.0 on June 10, 2019, 09:11:33 PM Lol, I can only disagree with you (and guess you work for Nitrogen or take pleasure contradicting accusations?)
My mistake? Even though you know more websites with this system (I'm on the internet 14 hours per day for the last 10 years and this is my first time btw), the user is poorly guided through the process and it's extremely easy (more than on any other website) to lose access to your account. Nitrogen stopped communication. I believe I answered everything right, but even if I haven't, they don't give me a chance to get my account back. They do not reply my emails. So I assume they don't want to spend money helping me with this - instead they prefer to keep the money they owe me for themselves - much more profitable, isn't it? Also, as I mentioned, I provided evidences that only the owner of the account could provide. Put simply, I use a link shortener that allows me to track clicks. So I can know when the link was clicked for the first time, how many clicks we had per month, and when we stopped redirecting our users to it once we realize we could not access the account. I also contacted them using the branded email address of my website, from which the links come from. But they won't help me, ask me more questions, verify my story, etc. Again I can only assume that's because I referred lots of people, and they are very happy that I did not add a username and password to my account. Title: Re: NitrogenSports Scammed Me (Business) Post by: Joel_Jantsen on June 10, 2019, 11:13:52 PM I received this answer: "Security Department" - That is literally one freelance developer checking your IP logs from his Ubuntu installed dual boot windows machine lolAfter reviewing the information with our Security department, it has been determined that access to account XXXXXXX will not be granted. It's your mistake. C'mon think about it- how will they verify that you are the actual owner? You haven't placed and verified your email. I disagree with that. If they have introduced a system like that then they should also establish a way to handle exceptions like OP's case. This is not a well-thought idea if they don't consider end use-cases like this one.Title: Re: NitrogenSports Scammed Me (Business) Post by: Avirunes on June 11, 2019, 05:35:18 PM Lol, I can only disagree with you (and guess you work for Nitrogen or take pleasure contradicting accusations?) I am talking about the mistake that you made on your part. I also feel that NitrogenSports should also have atleast tried to help you but given the situation I can understand it could be hard for them as well. BTW I am not a fan of NitrogenSports given the accusations I have seen in feedbacks and something that happened to my account as well (but I guess that was my mistake). Just because I am not giving a reply which wasn't in your favour doesn't means that I am part of NS or take pleasure contradicting accusations- as you say. My mistake? Even though you know more websites with this system (I'm on the internet 14 hours per day for the last 10 years and this is my first time btw), the user is poorly guided through the process and it's extremely easy (more than on any other website) to lose access to your account. Yes. Nitrogensports uses cookies to keep you logged-in. But in case of anonymous registration they also give you out a link through which you can login back from any computer. All sites which allows such registrations always gives out such links to give you control even if you haven't set your username, email and password. For instance: Here is the NS account that I created without password and email: satoshi [5065544] : https://nitrogensports.eu/u/9b766a256e12e8109b36eb94d6fb07d13b6d252762c101c17d085ad7f9b02c1e You can find this link from your "My Account " section. What were the questions they asked? Come to think about it again, if you prove that you are the owner of the site where the referral link was used then I think that is sufficient proof to hand over the account back again. I also contacted them using the branded email address of my website, from which the links come from. But they won't help me, ask me more questions, verify my story, etc. Again I can only assume that's because I referred lots of people, and they are very happy that I did not add a username and password to my account. Please add proofs like the emails exchanged and the hit-stats from the URL-shortner dashboard so that we can verify the incident and tag accordingly to let others know. I didn't want to blame the whole situation onto you but you should also atleast understand the risks of creating account without username and password which doesn't makes this accusation as solid (unless you prove that you are the real owner of the site). It's your mistake. C'mon think about it- how will they verify that you are the actual owner? You haven't placed and verified your email. I disagree with that. If they have introduced a system like that then they should also establish a way to handle exceptions like OP's case. This is not a well-thought idea if they don't consider end use-cases like this one. Most of them also gives link to get the access back to the account in case cookies get cleared out. They are not the only ones to implement a system like that- BitcoinVideoCasino and there were couple of more sites which I am unable to recall name now but I am sure they had system similar like this. Title: Re: NitrogenSports Scammed Me (Business) Post by: Anton2.0 on June 13, 2019, 10:50:40 PM @Avirunes I understand how their system works now, but I didn't understand in the past. Thanks for your constructive comment though.
Here are the screenshots of the support tickets. What's after that is only me requiring assistance again and again, so it's not worth reading. SCREENSHOTS REMOVED - CASE SOLVED I've made 2 mistakes when posting the initial statement in this thread: 1. It looks like I initially set a username and password for the account, but only noted down the password. Honestly, I'm not sure anymore, as this is 3 months or more old. 2. I did not mention we created a new account after we realized we lost the first one. This is because we did not realize the first one was worth a lot of money, and we did not even think of reaching out to the support at the time. Still, this is not a good reason for not granting the account because we are many people working for the company, and they do not offer company accounts. Here is the information about the URL shortener we use: SCREENSHOTS REMOVED - CASE SOLVED So we know how many time the shortened URL was clicked each month. Basically, the end URL we use on our website (Rebrand.ly/Nitrogen ...) has never changed. Only the original URL (affiliate link) changed. Since we've changed the original URL from the old link to the new one on Rebrandly (annotated in red), I can bet that our old affiliate link hasn't had any click on it (maybe 1 or 2 from us maximum) because we no longer promote it. That to me, in addition to my answers to previous questions, prove that I was the owner of the account. In any case, I did not ask them to grant me the account without investigation. They just basically refuse to investigate more than they did. Title: Re: NitrogenSports Scammed Me (Business) Post by: Anton2.0 on June 14, 2019, 12:03:15 AM All in all, what I mean is that there are clear evidences that the account probably belongs to me since I claimed me and gave a lot of information about it. And instead of helping me through the process, they just stop communicating. It's just easier and more profitable for them.
If they care more about short term profits than the happiness of their clients and partners, simply beware. Title: Re: NitrogenSports Scammed Me (Business) Post by: Avirunes on June 15, 2019, 06:35:20 AM It seems like they want to sweep your case flagging as case of multiple account abuse. I don't think that you violated or abuse even if you had multiple accounts. I can't think of any possibility of abuse in refferal activities.
Given the proofs you provided, I will add feedback against their account warning others. Title: Re: NitrogenSports Scammed Me (Business) Post by: Anton2.0 on June 17, 2019, 06:01:55 PM This is exactly what I believe. They pretend a violation of their terms to steal away from me.
Very bad behavior as a business. Thanks for the feedback! Title: Re: NitrogenSports Scammed Me (Business) Post by: malevolent on June 17, 2019, 06:59:08 PM If they are dishonest and your website is popular enough that 1000 people registered using your affiliate link, can always use your website to write what kind of company they are, warning others to keep a safe distance.
Title: Re: NitrogenSports Scammed Me (RESOLVED - NO HARM DONE) Post by: Anton2.0 on June 24, 2019, 08:40:28 PM The accusation was a little bit rushed on my end.
Long story short, I thought I contacted 3 of their support email addresses (support@, marketing@, affiliates@), but it looks like I did not actually contact them for one of them (affiliates@). And this specific department provided me with great help and communication for my issue, and helped me recover my account and all my referrals. As a result, I've added the latest update to the initial post and title. As far as I'm concerned, I feel happy to continue using Nitrogen and would recommend anyone to do so as long as you guys add an email address, username and password AS SOON AS YOU CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT.
