They will rule out someone being framed via edited posts. I don't think you will get banned if you are plagiarizing a single post that was made within 10 minutes of when you posted, although if someone is found to have copied many posts created within this timeframe, this will not create a loophole to prevent them from being banned.

Should take a bit of time to show what I am attempting to do. also I am not sure if this demo works in meta section. I may need to do it in a normal section. Well what do you know I did find a flaw on my end All these Edits don’t show for meta on my Mac mini or on my iPad Which means either something is wrong on my end as edits don’t pop up or. Meta edits are hidden? That seems wrong. Btw was not looking for it. All my posts on this thread have multiple edits. And I can not show them on my iPad or my Mac mini. Title: Re: there is an issue which i brought up and was brought again today Post by: xhomerx10 on June 10, 2019, 12:54:57 AM I remember reading somewhere on here about a 10 minute grace period for edits during which time, the edits are not logged.

Edits within 10 minutes are not indicated on the post timestamp. Edits after 10 minutes will trigger the edit timestamp/label. Title: Re: there is an issue which i brought up and was brought again today Post by: philipma1957 on June 10, 2019, 01:00:42 AM Look at my posts all were edited yet first two did not show.
I can duplicate this. I think. This edit is with an iPad mini 5 iOS 12.3.1 It will show Title: Re: there is an issue which i brought up and was brought again today Post by: suchmoon on June 10, 2019, 01:02:21 AM Look at my posts all were edited yet first two did not show. I can duplicate this. I think. All of those edits were within 10 minutes of the post being created. Those don't show up, that's a known feature and I'm sure mods are aware of that before swinging the banhammer. Re iPad: normally you need to mouse-over to see the edit timestamp, which is kinda impossible on a touchscreen, so on mobile devices the edit timestamp is supposed to show up next to the creation timestamp without doing a mouse-over. If that's not what you're seeing you might want to let theymos know but that's just a display problem and not going to affect plagiarism bans. This edit is with an iPad mini 5 iOS 12.3.1 It will show It won't... still within 10 minutes :) Title: Re: there is an issue which i brought up and was brought again today Post by: xhomerx10 on June 10, 2019, 01:08:17 AM Title: Re: there is an issue which i brought up and was brought again today Post by: philipma1957 on June 10, 2019, 01:17:19 AM Okay was not looking for this to be the flaw it just was looking weird to me.
My original thought is: Last say a post is a year old is edited today. Shows as edited with today’s date. Then this post is worthless for ban evidence correct? So scumbags can simply use all edited posts to copy and paste? Or am I missing something? If it's already been edited at the time when the spammer copies it then the edit timestamp will still be earlier that the spammer's post timestamp. For this to work the spammer would have to see future, i.e. that a post they copy will be edited after they copy it, or they would have to copy their own posts from alt accounts and then go back to edit them. So I don't think it would be easier than e.g. copying something from some obscure site that's not indexed by Google, or using one of those word-spinning tools. Most spammers are extremely lazy and spam for pennies so they won't be putting that much effort into it.
